KUALA LUMPUR: Monument Mining Ltd, a Canadian gold mining, production and exploration firm operating in Malaysia has commenced its US$1.3 million (RM4.02 million) stage II tailings storage facility construction at its wholly owned Selinsing Gold Mine in Pahang.
Slated for completion in May next year, the tailings storage facility expansion contract was awarded in April this year to Perlombongan LS Choong Sdn Bhd, a local construction company that built the stage I tailings storage facility.

This company matches essentially all of the criteria that we look at when we look at junior producers. It has a great cash position, existing production, growth and production over the next 12 months, a low cash cost—or the cost it takes to get this company’s gold out of the ground. It has good cash flow generation and upside potential from the drill bit.
