irgendwann in diesem monat ist ja ein etwas ausführlicheres "project update" geplant, wobei die nächsten wichtigen schritte ja bereits bekannt sind.

an der asx steht leider recht viel im ask ca. 800k im bereich 0,09-0,11aud) und hier in frankfurt gab es einen ungewöhnlich hohen umsatz 222k und zusätzlich 100k im bid.

könnte sich natürlich um eine depotumschichtung handeln aber immerhin ein wenig leben.....

Globe Metals & Mining is delighted to announce the further infill drilling results from its 100%-owned multi-commodity (niobium, uranium, tantalum, zircon) Kanyika Deposit in central Malawi.
The infill diamond drilling in the Milenje Zone was designed to confirm grades and widths of mineralisation encountered in RC drilling, provide structural geological information to support the Company’s geological model and to provide greater drill density to increase confidence in the resource. Ultimately, the infill drilling results will be used to upgrade the JORC resource estimate at Kanyika.

Eight of the nine diamond drill holes reported here intersected significant, wide mineralised zones, mostly between 30 and 65m (down hole widths). The very robust nature of the deposit continues to be borne out in these infill drill results, which show excellent grade consistency between adjacent drill-holes, both along strike and down dip.

imo eine gute aber keine sensationelle neuigkeit. eigentlich nur mal ein erster vorsichtiger schritt in richtung "echtes" offtake agreement. warum das mit einem recht langem trading halt verbunden war und noch dazu länger als angekündigt gedauert hat (also länger als preopen 2.2.09) entzieht sich meiner kenntnis. ebenso die nichr bekanntgabe des verhandlungspartners.

aber trotzdem imo ein strategisch und psychologisch guter schritt. die ersten potenziellen kunden sind ja immer die schwierigsten.

MOU for Supply of Niobium from Kanyika, Malawi

Globe Metals & Mining is delighted to announce that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding for the supply of niobium raw materials from Kanyika, Malawi, being “an in-principle desire to purchase from Globe Metals & Mining on a long-term contract basis 500t/year Nb2O5”.

The 500t of Nb2O5 equates to 350t of niobium metal, being ~12% of Globe’s planned annual production from Kanyika of 3,000t niobium metal. Further supply agreements are expected as Globe progresses
the development of the Kanyika Niobium Project; first production is planned for late 2011.

Globe intends to produce two products from Kanyika – ferro-niobium for the steel industry and niobium raw materials for the non-steel industry, used for downstream processing into high-purity metals, oxides and alloys. The raw material may be in the form of either an alloy or a clean (i.e. non-radioactive) Nb2O5 concentrate. The MOU contemplates the supply of raw material in either form.

Globe considers the identity of the customer to be highly commercially sensitive, and therefore to be treated as confidential. The pricing mechanism, duration of contract and product specification, among other things, are yet to be determined.

Globe’s Managing Director, Mr. Mark Sumich, said “this is an outstanding development for the Company. This is our first product supply MOU, and we expect more to follow as we continue on the
path to production.”

so - der kurs ist gestern wieder etwas zurückgekommen und heute hat es dann endlich auch der frankfurter makler gemerkt, dass es zu einer handelsaussetzung an der asx gekommen ist.


bekanntlich entwickelt ja auch paladin seit geraumer zeit ein uranprojekt in malawi - und imo war es eigentlich dringend notwendig die umweltrechtlichen und sozialen rahmenbedingungen in diesem land mal zu durchleuchten - je früher desto besser und sorgt hoffentlich für zukünftige stabilität und einigermassen sicherheit.

andererseits : einer der wenigen
werte die bisher noch gar nicht
vom tief weggekommen sind.

hmmm, also der grund für den trading halt ist ein "announcement of customer supply arrangement for niobium products" - klingt eigentlich nach einer guten nachricht...

wenn es sich tatsächlich um so eine art offtake agreement handeln würde wäre das schon zumindest für mich überraschend früh.

in frankfurt wurde auch gleich mal aus dem ask gekauft (mit einem sportlichen aufpreis)
