Thanks for your email.
Thecurrent equity market downturn we are experiencing is certainlyexacting its toll on Trevali’s share price but the Company remainscommitted to bringingboth the Halfmile Mine in NB and the Santander Mine in Peru both onstream over the next few months. Development is progressing well at bothoperations. We expect to be in a cash-flowing scenario over the nextseveral months and would hope that would justifya re-rating of our equity.
TheHalfmile mine, where underground development is progressing very well,is on-track to commence production by year-end; and Santander is onschedule tobe commissioned in late-Q1/early-Q2 of next year. Both operations willramp up to planned throughput of 2000-tonnes-per-day apiece.
Thenew taxation structure in Peru looks quite reasonable and will likelyhave no significant adverse affect on the Santander operation, which isexpected tobe a lower cost zinc producer and not particularly sensitiveeconomically to the slightly increased tax regime. The new tax in Peruhas largely been lauded by most of the mining companies active in thecountry and endorsed by the renewed commitment of manyof the major developers (Xstrata, Newmont, etc.) that are advancingseveral multi-billion dollar mines there.
Huampar,which we just acquired in May, is earmarked for drilling next year totest the historic mineralization at the past producing silver-gold mine.Thereis a 50-man camp that has been refurbished at the site that also hassignificant infrastructure in place from past operations including apermitted 400-tonne-per-day processing facility.

The bank reiterated an “overweight” recommendation on commoditiesover the next 12 months, while remaining “neutral” in the near term,analysts led by Jeffrey Currie wrote in a report today. Oil and copperforecasts for 2012 were reduced.
Commodities in the three months to Sept. 30 had the worst quartersince 2008 on concern that there may be another global recession as theEuropean debt crisis escalated. The world economy will probably expand3.5% in 2012, compared with an earlier prediction of 4.2%, Goldman’seconomists Jan Hatzius and Dominic Wilson wrote in an Oct. 3 report.
“With recent GDP revisions by our economists falling hardest on Europe but emerging market growth expectations still relatively solid,we continue to believe that demand growth in 2012 will be sufficient totighten major commodity markets,” Currie wrote. “We now see a flatterupward trajectory for commodity prices.”
Brent oil traded in London may average US$120 per barrel next year,down from an earlier call of US$130, Goldman said. The bank’s 2012estimate for three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange was loweredto US$9,200 per metric tonne from US$10,790.
Cutting Calls
Goldman joins BNP Paribas SA and Commerzbank AG in cutting calls forthe metal that some investors see as a barometer for economic activity.The bank also trimmed the 12-month target for copper to US$9,500 pertonne from US$11,000, while zinc’s target was reduced to US$2,400 pertonne from US$2,700.
“Sentiment regarding the economic outlook and the Europeansovereign-debt problems are likely to remain poor in the near term,presenting further downside risk to prices as well as our forecasts,”Currie wrote. Still, the lower prices should lure buyers from China, theworld’s largest copper consumer, back into the market, he wrote.
Copper for three-month delivery declined for a fifth day in London,falling as much as 4% to US$6,712 per tonne, before trading at US$6,935at 2:58 p.m. in Singapore. Brent crude, which sank 11% last month,traded at US$101.36 per barrel.
No Recession
Barclays Capital also said the world economy may avoid a recession asemerging markets expand, which should limit further losses for commodities, according to a report Tuesday from analysts including Kevin Norrish.
“A steep rise in production costs over the past few years, plus a much greater degree of supply risk due to geopolitical and weathershocks, all suggest there should be a much greater degree offundamentals-driven price resilience in many commodity markets,” Norrish wrote.

Fuer mich sind das weiterhin top kauskurse, deswegen werd ich auch weiter einsammeln... Solang ich fuer mich selber nicht verstehe warum es so nach unten rauscht, ist es fuer mich nur die irrationalitaet des markets. Ich kann mir wirklich kaum vorstellen das man -grade bei Trevali- auf diesem level etwas falsch machen kann.

es gibt also für diejenigen, die dieses Papier zeichnen, ein hohes Interesse daran, dass diese "Marktsituation", also vor allem der Sharepreis, so niedrig sind wie nur irgend möglich. dann gibts (vermutlich) nicht nur höhere Zinsen, sondern auf jeden Fall einen deutlich besseren Konvertierungskurs zum Ende der Laufzeit.
