Schaun wir mal was passiert.
Trading Halt T1 seit einer 17Uhr Eastern Time.

Was meinst Du. Belinostat schlecht oder Apaziquone oder beides?
Hast Du was von Deinem Bestand verkauft?

Neue Short Interest Daten. Weiter angestiegen um 0,85 Millionen. 32% des floats.
3/15/2012 16,457,586
2/29/2012 15,697,250

Reasons to be concerned about Apaziquone data
1. data "recurrence rate at month 24" is easy to determine but despite that we are 3.5 months without published results. We missed AUA and will miss ASCO (deadline 04/02 for late breaking abstracts).
2. Biotechs often hold back bad data before they publish them, sometimes trying to find some good stuff in subset analyses. One example of hold-back was Medarex with ipilimumab phase II data in 2008. They held it back 6 months. In the meantime the short interest rose from 12% to over 30% of the float without moving the price. Similar pattern here.
3. Raj changed tone in his presentations from "at least one of the drugs in pivotal stage is a gem" to "one of the drugs in pivotal stage is a gem" a month ago.
4. Raj always had apaziquone on position 3 of his presentations. A month ago he moved it to position 4. Belinostat is now position 3. But it is Apaziquone that is in phase III and the results coming in Q2. Belinostat coming in Q4 and only phase II.
Those hints don't let me expect good results from the Apaziquone trials. Raj, let the cat out of the bag. It only get's worse if you try to combine your good Q1 earning results with bad apaziquone data. Often seen in Biotech, that they try to compensate one bad with one good news.
Disclosure: i am long SPPI with XXXXX share since 2008. I am not a basher. I am watching the developement of the company very closely.
