MCEWEN MINING REGAINS COMPLIANCE WITH NYSE LISTING STANDARDS

McEwen Mining Inc. has received notification from the New York Stock Exchange that it has regained compliance with the NYSE's continued listing standards regarding the minimum price of its common stock.

Chief owner Rob McEwen stated: "This is wonderful news and it highlights our strong operational performance in 2015, where we increased our gold/silver production, decreased our production cost/ounce, generated free cash flow and steadily built our treasury over the year. Also, during the year we declared and paid our first ever semi-annual capital distribution. Our share price appreciation since July, 2015, reflects the value in exercising financial discipline and resisting the temptation to finance at the bottom of the market. We refused to give away our future upside. We have not and will not sell metal streams, sell royalties or hedge our future production. At this time, we are debt-free, we have $33-million in cash and bullion. As you can see, we have no pressure on our balance sheet and we will be paying our second capital distribution on Feb. 12. This is a great way to start 2016."

Die kanadische McEwen Mining (WKN A1JS7T / TSX MUX) meldet für das vergangene Jahr einen Produktionsrekord. Der Goldausstoß stieg demzufolge 2015 um 22% auf 154.299 Unzen Goldäquivalent. Für das laufende Jahr allerdings geht McEwen Mining von einer Produktion von 141.000 Unzen Goldäquivalent aus.

Das Unternehmen betonte zudem, schuldenfrei zu sein und über 32 Mio. Dollar an liquiden Mitteln zu verfügen. Darüber hinaus wird McEwen am 12. Februar seinen Aktionären eine Halbjahresdividende von 0,005 Dollar

MCEWEN MINING ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENT A COLIN SUTHERLAND AS PRESIDENT

McEwen Mining Inc. has appointed Colin Sutherland as president. Mr. Sutherland will be responsible for the financial and operational performance of the company. Rob McEwen will remain the chairman and chief executive officer.

Mr. Sutherland is a chartered professional accountant with over 20 years of financial and operational experience. Most recently, he served as chief executive officer and managing director of Archipelago Resources PLC, which operates a large producing gold mine in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. In 2013, Mr. Sutherland led the successful privatization of Archipelago Resources and continued to deliver significant returns to its shareholder. During his tenure, gold production grew to 200,000 ounces per year and costs were significantly reduced. Prior to this, Mr. Sutherland held senior financial and executive roles with Timmins Gold, Capital Gold, Nayarit Gold and Aurico Gold.

"I am excited and honoured to take on this role and look forward to partnering with Rob McEwen and the senior leadership team in delivering on our sole objective of creating shareholder value," commented Mr. Sutherland.

"We are very pleased to welcome Colin as our president. He comes with considerable experience with gold mines in Mexico and internationally, which I believe will better position us for our future growth. Equally important, Colin believes as I do that management interests needs to be economically aligned with all our share owners.
