TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - July 31, 2007) - Forsys Metals Corp. (TSX: FSY.TO) ("Forsys" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that Dr. Roger Laine, Ph.D., currently a Director of the Company, will be appointed as Chief Geologist of Forsys effective August 1st 2007. He will assume responsibility for overseeing the geological and exploration programs of the Company's uranium properties, including its wholly-owned Valencia uranium property, all of which are located in Namibia, Africa. Dr. Laine will also serve as the Company's Qualified Person (QP) as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
Dr. Laine is an experienced geological engineer with a Ph.D. in geosciences from the University of Arizona at Tucson. Dr. Laine has over 30 years of international industry experience throughout the Americas, West & Central Africa and Europe, specializing in exploration, development, geostatistics and reserve estimating, underground and open-pit mines, grade and quality control using advance computerized information systems. Dr. Laine has over 14 years uranium experience working for Cogema and their subsidiaries as a senior manager exploring for unconformity, roll-front, granite hosted and Permian stratigraphically controlled deposits.
Dr. Laine will be leading the exploration and development work on the Valencia project, as well as commencing an intensive exploration program on the Company's other uranium assets. In addition to Valencia, the Company currently holds a 70% interest in a number of Exclusive Prospective Licences (EPL's) recently acquired through its Namibian subsidiaries. These EPL's cover approximately 370,000 ha of prospective ground.
In connection with his appointment, Dr. Laine will be granted 100,000 stock options at an exercise price of $5.40 expiring July 31, 2012.

Rick Bonner, the Company's previous QP and Exploration Manager will remain with the Company serving in the capacity of Special Adviser, Corporate Affairs (Namibia). In addition to his continuing role with the Company, Mr. Bonner will be appointed Managing Director of Westport Resources (Namibia) Ltd. ("Westport"). As described in the Company's announcement on July 30, 2007, Forsys will be forming a new resource company with Beta Minerals Inc. in order to focus on precious and base metals in Namibia. With his role in Westport, the future Beta Namibian subsidiary, Mr. Bonner will - have responsibility for all geological and exploration functions and hold the role of Qualified Person for Westport. Beta will benefit from Mr. Bonner's years of experience in exploration and development of mineral assets and his particular country specific knowledge and experience.
