Charlie Long, equity analyst at Sanlam Securities, said the Capricorn mine is potentially the largest sapphire mine globally. “Previous owners did not brand the mine’s product, so Richland will be the first company to promote Australian sapphires in a significant way,” he said.

“Given the potential volumes of the mine, Richland is entering a transformational period.”
Richland has the experience and, in Capricorn, a high quality asset in a more stable jurisdiction, according to Long.
“Although not without risk, we are very positive about the outlook for Richland this year,” he added.


Richland shares climbed 25% higher to 3.75p........

During the first quarter of 2015 Richland has re-commissioned a purpose-built alluvial sapphire processing plant capable of treating 200 LCM per hour. The plant will process mined material from a JORC (2004) Measured Sapphire Resource of approximately 21.6 million grams (109million carats) of sapphires.

The current resource is calculated based on previous exploration and mining conducted on the licences......

mit einem anstieg von knapp 50% konnte vergangene woche geschlossen werden, wobei
mit GBp 5,25 auch noch ein neues jahres- HOCH erzielt werden konnte !!!

ALLLL dies in einer woche, die ansonsten gekennzeichnet war von neg. indizees - so
verlor zb. der DAX im gleichen zeitraum markante 5%

....trotz vereinzelter gewinn- mitnahmen ( zur freude derer an der seitenlinie )
sollte sich bei RLD auch in der neuen woche die grad gestartete NEU- bewertung weiter fortsetzen können.......IMO

The Charlie Long interview is very bullish for Richland. This is the beginning of the publicity that is going to be generated for the Queensland mining operation. The current reserves are just over 100 million carats. However, I am sure that Richland will be looking to update this in the short term.

With a bit of luck this share is going to follow the same growth pattern that Gemfields have enjoyed over the last 5 or 6 years. However, the growth could be quicker as Richland has no debt and is going to become cash positive in a couple of months once the sales revenues begin to roll in.

die mit dem rückläufigen preis zu kämpfen haben.

DRUM besitzt RLD, als nunmehr ´edelstein´- produzent, seinen besonderen reiz als
depot- beimischung aus einen hochint. segment, welches derzeit weniger unter

das war mal meine argumentation vor 1-2 jahren...
inzwischen sehe ich den preisdruck beim gold mehr und mehr als vergangenheit an.
hier ist mir wie bei true north gems einfach die bewertung zu hoch für einen neueinstieg.

.....OK, was bewertung von TNG mit cad- mios 47,- anlangt, OHNE bereits zu produzieren
NICHT aber bei RLD mit MK von knapp €-mio 15,- und ab 06.15 bereits cash- flow haben
werden !!!!

denke RLD hat beste voraussetzungen die neue GEM zu werden, die akt. bekanntlich
´noch´ mit nahezu €-mio 465,- bewertet wird.

naja TNG hat aber ein recht großes deposit bzw nachgewiesene resourcen.
das hat RLD eben nicht... und miniproduktion wird eben nicht allzu hoch bewertet.
deswegen sehe ich die bewertung auch als ok aber ausreichend an hier fürs erste.

A tiny miner of sapphires with sales that would be a rounding error at De Beers will this week take its shot at upending the international market for the blue gems.

Richland Resources, listed on London’s AIM market for start-ups and small caps, will unearth its first Australian sapphires ahead of a maiden sale of the stones in June, Chief Executive Officer Bernard Olivier said in an interview.

That sale will offer a guide to prices in an industry still the preserve of artisanal miners from Madagascar to Kashmir, and whose finds are channeled through Thai middlemen. By ensuring a stable supply from the Queensland mine that Richland says could produce about 10 million carats a year, the company hopes that jewelers will employ the marketing heft that drives up prices.

The reshaping of ruby and emerald mining is the model, with the UK’s Gemfields Plc expanding supply from an operation in Zambia and launching a marketing campaign fronted by Hollywood movie star Mila Kunis. The value of its emeralds surged 10-fold over five years, with Gemfields’ shares jumping about the same.

“We have to provide regular, consistent supply, we have to do marketing,” said Olivier, who thinks the Australian mine has the chance to become the world’s biggest producer of sapphires. “Once we do that, the price can be stimulated and increased.”

Richland’s marketing ambitions got a boost after Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with a blue-sapphire ring.

“People are waking up to color,” Olivier said. “Color is now seen as contemporary, and that’s spilling into sapphires.”

The company shifted toward the gems after illegal miners overran its Tanzanite operations, seizing more than 60% of the deposit of blue and lilac precious stones only found in Tanzania, and forcing Richland to give up on its project.

“It was too big a risk for us to continue mining there,” Olivier said. “It was probably going to be impossible for us to turn it around.” Richland sold the business for $5.1 million.

ein blick auf nachfolg. chart zeigt das ´deutlich´ zugenommene int. an RLD - hingegen
nahezu OHNE vol. die akt. mitbewerber GEM sowie die kanad. TGX......deutlicher kann
ein ´momentum´ kaum ausfallen !!!




....und angesichts einer im vergleich zu obigen mitbewerbern immer noch geringen
MK von grad mal €-mios 16,5 sehe ICH noch ne menge nachhol- bedarf

Finalisation of remaining consideration from sale of tanzanite business

Richland Resources Ltd, the gemstone producer and developer of the Capricorn Sapphire project, today announces the basis upon which on 12(th) June 2015 it finalised the consideration from the sale of its tanzanite business to Sky Associates Group Limited ("Sky Associates") the ("Sale") pursuant to the sale agreement dated 25(th) November 2014 between Sky Associates and Richland (the "Sale Agreement").

As previously announced Richland has already received US$4,590,000 from the Sale:

(a) US$510,000 on the signing of the Sale Agreement recognised in the Accounts for the year ended 31(st) December 2014; and

(b) US$4,080,000 paid to Richland on closing on 2(nd) March 2015 which was not recognised in the Accounts for the year ended 31(st) December 2014 and will be recognised in the Accounts for the year ended 31(st) December 2015.......

Production has commenced at an Australian sapphire mine that is said to have the potential to become one of the largest in the world.

The Capricorn Sapphire mine, located in Queensland, is owned and operated by Perth-based company Richland Resources. Described by Richland as one of the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere, the 490-hectare site comprises two mining leases with a measured sapphire resource of approximately 109 million carats.

Richland CEO Dr Bernard Olivier said the operation had “huge potential”, claiming analysts believed that once the mine was in full production, it could be the largest single source of sapphire in the world.

The mine reportedly has the capacity to produce up to 200 loose cubic metres per hour of sapphire-bearing ore via its purpose-build alluvial processing plant. Material from the plant is processed and sorted at the company’s facility located in the nearby town of Emerald.

Consistent, ethical supply
A Richland spokesperson told Jeweller that the mine contained large quantities of blue sapphires, in addition to yellow, green and parti-coloured sapphires (those exhibiting combinations of more than one colour), which she said were currently in demand by the fancy coloured gemstone industry.

“Sapphires make up a significant part of the global colour gemstone market, but extraction remains generally artisanal – and small scale – with a fractured and variable supply,” she explained. “As a result, large manufacturers struggle with sourcing a consistent supply of quantities of sapphire for their production.”

The spokesperson pointed out that having source-assured, ethical gemstones was also becoming increasingly important to discerning jewellery consumers.

“Richland believes the strength of the Capricorn Sapphire project is in the ability to consistently and reliably supply sapphires of verifiable origin in large quantities in the sizes, grades and colours used by major manufacturers the international jewellery market,” she stated.

According to a company statement, a “staggered ramp up” to full-scale production will occur over the coming months, with Richland to offer rough sapphire parcels to select parties throughout the year.

The company plans to sell its first sapphire parcels through a sightholder process in Hong Kong at the end of this month.

Richland Resources is listed on the London Stock Exchange AIM market, and until March 2015, operated a tanzanite mine in Tanzania.

Richland Resources Ltd, the gemstone producer and developer of the Capricorn Sapphire project, today announces a marketing and operations update to the market.

As previously announced and in consultation with interested sight holder groups, the Company has held a display and education session on the sapphires being produced in Queensland Australia at the June 2015 Hong Kong Jewellery Fair (the "Show"). This followed a slower ramp-up at the Capricorn Sapphire mine due to a now rectified electrical issue and a decision to delay the first formal sight sale of sapphires. During the Show Richland hosted sessions with a series of wholesale gemstone distributors, jewellery manufacturers and other interested parties on the Capricorn Sapphire product offering namely:

-- Fully transparent and certificated sapphires from Australia
-- Stable production base with operations capable of supporting consistent supply
-- High quality and clarity blue and coloured sapphires
The education sessions covered the production and marketing requirements of prospective sight holders. Some 10 prospective sight holders attended the sessions where natural rough sapphires from the mine were displayed. Richland Resources Ltd (LON:RLD) enjoyed a strong finish to 2016, producing 840,000 carats of gemstones from its Capricorn sapphire mine in Queensland, Australia in the final three months of the year.

That figure is well ahead of the 800,000 carats Richland had been targeting for the quarter.

During the period, the group sold 857,000 carats of blue and fancy rough sapphires and corundum for US$535,000; an average price per carat of US$0.62.

“Operations at the Capricorn sapphire mine are going from strength to strength and our new sales strategy, only adopted in the final quarter of last year, is already realising tangible benefit,” said chief executive Bernard Olivier.

“Our clear focus for 2017 is to develop sales, aggressively manage costs and develop margins to achieve first profit from our coloured gemstone mining operations.”

Richland processed more than 51,000 tonnes of material during the three months to 31 December, at an average grade of 16 carats per tonne.

The company also reduced its operating costs to US$660,000 during the period, achieving a total cost per carat of US$0.79.

Since the end of the period, work has begun on the final stage of the ramp-up which should take quarterly production up to 1.2mln carats.

In December, Richland secured £1mln via a share placing to help fund the remainder of the ramp-up programme.

Shares opened 8% higher at 1.06p on Monday.

Tot ist erst, wer endgültig aufgibt und das sehe ich hier nicht.

Richland ist sicher keine aufgepushte Bitcoinblase, aber immerhin ein produzierendes Unternehmen, wenn auch mit sträflich vernachlässigter Investor Relations.

Kaufen die Chinesen weiter mit wachsender Begeisterung Saphire und die Amerikaner für die komplett neu anlaufende Weltraumindustrie, starten mit den Shuttles auch die Kurse!

Eine nahezu Verdoppelung des Umsatzes über die Jahre zeigt, dass man auch auf ethischem Wege erfolgreich Edelsteine abbauen kann. Zudem verfügt die Richland über eigene Onlinevertriebswege und Plattformen, um so die preisdrückenden Zwischenhändler zu umgehen...

Ich habe mir mal ausgerechnet wie viel Karat an Saphire in der Erde liegen, dafür habe ich die Machbarkeitsstudie aus dem letzten Jahr genommen, eine andere kenne ich auch gar nicht. Ich bin zum Ergebnis gekommen, dass ca 52,5 Millionen Euro im Boden liegen müssten. Das ist schonmal nicht schlecht

Der Spread ist wirklich heftig....

...und seit Wochen unverändert. Zu 0,006 gekauft ist ein "Sprung" auf 0,007 aber auch schon mal ganz hübsch und den hatten wir bereits öfter:-)
