Viele Dank bereits jetzt!

Kaufgelegenheit.
Schau dir doch mal Satyam, Videsh und Infosys an.

@Pete

Silverline ADS issue priced at $25 on NYSE
Our Bureau
MUMBAI, June 20
SILVERLINE Technologies Ltd, whose American Depository Share (ADS) issue
made a debut on New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday, announced the issue
price at $25 each.
The ADS price of $25 compares with the price of $19.68 on the preliminary
prospectus, said a statement from the company.
This is at a discount of over 11 per cent to the domestic price of the
scrip.
Silverline closed at Rs. 637.95 per share on BSE on Tuesday, rising by Rs.
10 over the previous close of Rs. 627.15. One ADS being equivalent to two
domestic shares, the corresponding domestic share price equivalent works
out to $28.32.
The company priced five million ADS consisting of 4.35 million primary ADS
and a 15 per cent greenshoe of 6,50,000 ADS, said the news release.
The general market perception was that the trading price would end higher
than the listing price on unofficial information that the ADS had been
oversubscribed several times, although there was no communication from the
company on this.
``It is a successful listing,`` said a software analyst with a broking
firm.
Silverline is the first Indian technology company to list on New York
Stock Exchange, it said.
The funds raised would go towards not only expansion of its existing
facilities, but also its acquisitions, two of which are reportedly in the
pipeline.
Recently, the company had acquired CIT Inc, an international e-business
solutions and services company, with a presence in Canada and in West
Asia.

Silverline sees big gains from NYSE listing
Prakash M. Swamy
NEW YORK, June 21
``The biggest reason for Silverline to go in for US offering is to have the
US currency to be able to make acquisitions. Today we have raised $125
millions and 70 per cent of that would go towards making acquisitions.
DESPITE the Nasdaq fever running across India with giants such as Infosys
choosing Nasdaq, Silverline Technologies preferred the Big Board, as it
listed on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday, signalling the arrival of
the first
infotech company from India at the Big Board.
``We are very proud to be at the NYSE,`` a beaming Mr. Ravi Subramanian,
Chairman, told journalists.`` ``It`s a large milestone not only for
Silverline but also for the software
industry in India.``
``Listing our shares on the NYSE represents a major benchmark in
Silverline`s positioning as a global information-service provider,`` he
said. ``With operations in the US, Canada and India and clients worldwide,
it is important that Silverline also be accessible to investors
worldwide.``
The NYSE Chairman and CEO, Mr. Richard A. Grasso, said, ``Silverline has
defined itself as a leader in the global infotech arena... With its
listing, Silverline will join the ranks of the world`s premier technology
companies whose shares are traded by investors world wide.``
``We are a global company and NYSE seemed more global to us than Nasdaq.
The people at the NYSE gave us enough reasons to list here,`` said Mr.
Shankar Iyer, the company`s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Nasscom had rated Silverline as the sixth largest IT company in India in an
yet to be published survey. Mr. Dewang Mehta of Nasscom was also present at
NYSE during the offering.
Silverline became the first Indian IT company to list on NYSE, the other
two Indian companies being the ICICI and ICICI
Bank.
``We were convinced that NYSE is the place to do business,`` Mr. Iyer told
a press conference at the exchange. ``There are minimum guidelines such as
three-year profitability and certain requirements which are certainly
higher in NYSE and
it looks at more financial stability,`` he said.
``Although the kind of investors that go the two exchanges are pretty much
the same, NYSE has a record of having fundamentally strong companies and
those that have established not only in technology but in other industries
too,``
said Mr. K. Venkatachalam, Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial
Officer.
``Since it`s a widely circulated exchange, we are sure to get a broad based
coverage.``
However, Mr. Iyer added, ``The biggest reason for Silverline to go in for
US offering is to have the US currency to be able to make acquisitions.
Today we have raised $125 millions and 70 per cent of that would go towards
making acquisitions. We expect to buy companies that would add to our
growth as our strategic growth is being planned through acquisitions.``
According to him, ``The listing also helps us to give our American-based
employees stock option plans which would attract and retain people in the
competitive market. The visibility in marketing and the credibility that a
company gains on listing at the NYSE and particularly in the US is
manifold,`` he said.
Mr. Iyer said, ``Our significance presence in the US for the past six years
has helped us establish a leadership in the e-business and Web development
segment. In the first quarter of 2000, 32 percent of our business was in
e-business and Web technology area. This allows us to successfully take on
businesses in the new technology area that attract higher wages, higher
margin and more value to our customers.``
At the moment, Silverline is looking at companies in the US and Europe for
acquisitions. It expects to expand its presence in the Europe through
significant acquisitions.
``We are also looking at companies that would help improve further market
strength in the vertical segment in which we are already operating in or
hope to expand our technology skills. We have a couple of companies in mind
but have not yet talked to them. We are looking at finance and telecom
companies for acquisition which are really attractive now,`` Mr. Iyer
added.
Answering questions, he said the impact would be to increase the amount of
work in India and leverage the capabilities offshore back home. ``The
mantra is to get more work to India.``
Mr. Venkatachalam said Indian investors would benefit a lot, as the
company`s reserves would go up by $96 millions after the offering by virtue
of premiums that will accrue to the company. ``Some amount of money raised
will be used to
develop infrastructure that exists now. We plan to invest $15 millions up
until middle of 2001 and the stress would be to completely build our
facilities in India.``
Silverline <SLVR.BO> <SLT.N> to expand in Europe
BOMBAY, Aug 9 (Reuters) - Indian software services firm Silverline Technologies Ltd will add about 200 to 300 people in its new
development centres in Europe in the next 18 months as part of its expansion plans, a company official said on Wednesday.
The New York Stock Exchange-listed firm launched a software development centre in London and an office in Stuttgart, Germany on
Wednesday.
Kumar Subramanian, the firm`s vice-chairman told Reuters, JP Morgan <JPM.N> was among its clients in Europe and it had signed an
agreement with consultancy firm KPMG.
"We are having three major contracts on e-commerce and e-business fronts," he said but declined to elaborate.
Silverline`s local shares ended Wednesday up 8.60 rupees at 325.80 on the Bombay Stock Exchange while the main Bombay index <.BSESN>
closed flat at 4,317.04 points.
Its American Depositary Shares <SLT.N> ended at $1514 on the NYSE on Tuesday.

Crompton Greaves joins e-business
bandwagon
Our Bureau
BANGALORE, June 15
CROMPTON Greaves is the latest old economy company
to catch the fancy of e-business. The company`s informatics division
has announced its strategic alliance with Remedy
Corporation of the US.
The tie-up would help Crompton Greaves to provide
consultation, implementation and training of e-CRM (customer
relationship management) and e-business infrastructure solutions
in India.
Announcing the tie-up here on Thursday, at a press
conference, Mr. C. Dilip Kumar, Head, Informatics Division of
Crompton Greaves, said the tie-up would help the company to be a
strong player in the IT sector in the coming years. Till date, CG
has had a low profile in the IT sector with a good chunk of its
business coming from the Government sector.
In the last two years, the informatics division has
notched up a turnover of Rs. 200 crores, while the electrical
components accounted for sales of Rs. 700 crores. ``By 2010,
contribution from both divisions would be on par,`` said Mr. P.H.
Rao, President, CG Digital, Crompton Greaves.
Crompton Greaves is aiming to integrate Remedy`s
products into its solutions for service providers such as ISPs,
banks, financial institutions, manufacturing companies besides
STPs. This is the first alliance for Remedy in India which has
forayed into other South Asian markets.
According to Mr. David Hudson, Vice-President, Asia
Pacific, Remedy Corporation, the Crompton Greaves tie-up will
help his company to localise the solution.
Mr. Hudson added that for the $260-million company,
the Asia Pacific region holds a lot of promise. Right now, the
contribution from the region is a meagre one per cent but is
expected to touch 4.5 per cent by 2001. ``We expect the Indian
market to generate a revenue of 0.5-1 million during this year,``
he added.

RESEARCH ALERT-Merrill keeps buy on SIFY
BOMBAY, Aug 14 (Reuters) - Merrill Lynch said it has reiterated its buy on India`s diversified Internet
firm Satyam Infoway Ltd (SIFY) (NasdaqNM:SIFY - news) which is listed on the U.S. Nasdaq exchange.
``SIFY remains our top Internet pick in India,`` it said in a report dated August 7.
``We view it not just as a survivor but as a long term winner. We like the business model, the management
and the recent acquisitions,`` it said.
Merrill said the business model was based on funding attractive but long-term propositions like portal and B2B through cash generated
currently from Internet service providers and web solutions.
The company is a subsidiary of Satyam Computer Services Ltd . It runs portals and is India`s biggest private Internet service provider.
Satyam Infoway shares closed at $146 on Friday at Nasdaq, down from $151 the previous day, and is about 87 percent off a peak of $113
on February 14.
The report was written based on a price of $12.9.
``While the share price has been weak, we are reiterating our buy recommendation,`` the report said.
Market pessimism towards Internet stocks and concerns about access business were factors affecting the sector.
``We believe that the fall in ARPUs (average revenue per user) is being more than matched by growth in volumes, and that SIFY is driving the
lower pricing, not responding to it,`` it said.
The report said liberalisation of the telecommunication sector would benefit the company.
``A delay in securing an international gateway has cost SIFY on the access side but connectivity should be in place by August-September,`` it
said.
Merrill said the stock trades at about 10 times calendar 2001 estimated revenues.
Despite difficult market conditions for Internet stocks, Merrill said it believed the company was taking the right steps to maintain its growth
momentum.
``We maintain our medium and long-term buy recommendations on SIFY,`` it added.

Frage: Warum kauft hier in Deutschlad keiner?
