Greenstone Resources Ltd.
Greenstone Resources is the fastest growing gold producer with the industry`s lowest forecast cash operating costs per ounce and the industry`s lowest capital costs per ounce, providing Greenstone with the best forecast cash flow and earnings growth of all North American producers over the next 2 to 3 year period.

Project Highlights
------------------
Greenstone`s production during the first quarter of 1999 was 27,456
ounces, compared to a budget of 25,439. Cash operating costs for this
production were $273 per ounce. Phase III capacity was commissioned in late
January at Cerro Mojon and gold production at San Andrés commenced in March.
Production is expected to increase to a rate of more than 25,000 ounces per
month by year`s end.
Gold production at Cerro Mojon for the first quarter of 1999 totaled
14,533 ounces, which was slightly higher than budgeted figures, at a cash cost
of $265 per ounce. A total of 330,617 tonnes at a grade of 2.05 grams per
tonne was processed and placed on the heaps during the first quarter. The new
42-inch by 48-inch jaw crusher was successfully commissioned and placed into
service. Metallurgical recoveries in the heaps are exceeding 70%, and daily
gold production has been as high as 381 ounces. Damage caused by Hurricane
Mitch has been repaired, and further solution control measures have been
implemented to handle high rainfall events. Negotiations are underway with a
mining contractor to provide additional mining equipment to meet expected
production requirements during the third and fourth quarters of 1999.
San Andrés made its first gold pour prior to the end of the first
quarter. During this time period, a total of 261,013 tonnes at a grade of 1.96
grams per tonne was placed on the pad, with a production of 2,606 ounces of
gold achieved. This gold production represents a 20% positive variance from
gold production targets due to higher grade ore placed on the pad as well as
faster than predicted gold recoveries. Both the primary and secondary crusher
circuits were successfully commissioned during the quarter, and peak daily
production requirements have already been achieved. The ADR plant was also
successfully commissioned and solution grades as high as 3 grams per tonne
were processed. The mine is expected to reach commercial production by June
1999.
Minas Santa Rosa produced 4,739 ounces of gold during the quarter, at a
cash cost of $286 per ounce. A total of 241,441 tonnes of material at a grade
of 1.71 grams per tonne was placed on the pad in January and February prior to
suspending mining and crushing operations on February 4, 1999. Residual
leaching at this mine will continue throughout the year. A recently completed
independent metallurgical review has determined that between 20,000 and 40,000
ounces of gold can be recovered from the heap with no future tonnage
additions. Site management policies continue to emphasize strict control of
operating costs, with emphasis on achieving positive cash flow.
At the Bonanza mine in northeastern Nicaragua, a total of 5,578 ounces of
gold was produced during the quarter at a cash cost of $270 per ounce. This
production was the result of processing 33,873 tonnes of ore at a grade of
5.72 grams per tonne, with a mill recovery of 89.5%. Drastic cost cutting
measures have been taken, and the mine has achieved better production results
with lower manpower and lower consumable usage than in previous quarters.
Greenstone continues to negotiate the sale of this project. Expectations are
that the transaction will be closed in the near term.
Exploration
-----------
Exploration on the Company`s properties was severely curtailed during the
first quarter. At La Libertad, basic geologic work continued on the targets
outside of Cerro Mojon and inferred resources near the existing operation were
under continuous review for possible inclusion into mine operating plans. Work
continued at San Andrés to upgrade the resources and reserves on Twin Hills
and to evaluate inferred resources on the margin of Water Tank Hill.
Compilation and reinterpretation of the geologic setting at the Santa Rosa
Mine in Panama is progressing. All work has been suspended on the Hemco
properties.
Financial Results
-----------------
Net loss for the first quarter of 1999 was $3,296,000 ($0.04 per share)
as compared to a net income of $251,000 ($0.00 per share) reported during the
first three months of 1998. Mining revenue of $8,024,000 was based on the
sales of 23,100 ounces of gold at a realized price of $347 per ounce.
Revenues, ounces sold and realized value per ounce approximated the prior year
results.
Production from the San Andrés mine commenced at the end of the quarter
however operating results will be included in capital costs until commercial
production is achieved.
Operating costs were higher than the previous year`s operating costs due
to the start-up nature of Phase III production at Cerro Mojon, and the
adjustment to leaching only at Minas Santa Rosa. As previously announced,
mining, crushing and stacking were suspended at Minas Santa Rosa during
February.
For the first quarter of 1999 the cash operating cost was $273 per ounce
as compared to $237 per ounce in 1998. Reflecting the rationalization of our
administrative functions, administration costs were lower in the current
quarter as compared to the same period of 1998. Interest expense is higher
compared to the first quarter of 1998 due to Cerro Mojon being in commercial
production and less interest being capitalized to mining interests.
During the first quarter of 1999, the Company raised $9.1 million from an
equity issue and $8.4 million of additional short-term debt. While the Company
continues to operate with a working capital deficit, Greenstone`s financial
situation is strengthening. Cerro Mojon produced over 7,300 ounces in April
and San Andrés, in its first full month of production, contributed over 6,900
ounces.
Year 2000
---------
The Year 2000 risks arise from the practice of computers using two digits
rather than four to indicate the year portion of the date. As a result, many
computer systems could fail and financial and operating data might be
impacted.
Due to the nature of Greenstone`s business activities, information
interaction with third parties is minimal. Greenstone has identified operating
and information systems and equipment that needs to be upgraded or replaced.
It is anticipated that these will be compliant by the end of the 1999 second
quarter. The expenses associated with the Year 2000 risk are not considered to
be material and will be charged to income in the period incurred.
The Company cannot be certain that its suppliers are Year 2000 compliant.
Therefore during the second half of 1999 plans will be implemented to mitigate
the risks of a disruption of key operating supplies.

hi radlhose,
Denn a:Mr.Greenspan erhöht die Zinsen,
Gold wird noch attraktiver-Kurse steigen.
Oder b:Mr.Greenspan erhöht die Zinsen,
die Anleger reagieren positiv.Dann
