Welcher Kurs ist denn ?

Alle die sich mit Thread 938726 (Global Profit Hunter)723011 (Bougainville) und 854385 (Bains de mer de Monaco) im letzten Jahr köstlich (und erfolgreich) amüsiert haben,dürften auch an diesem Thread ihre Freude haben.Ging es im GPH darum, die Firma zu entdecken,(was von Mani40 schon Jahre vorher im 723011 beschrieben war)Glückwunsch an ihn zu dem "Fund",so geht es hier um den Grund warum man MANITOWOC gefahrlos shorten können sollte.
Kleiner Tip: Es geht um eine Beteiligung,welche vor ca.2Jahren dicht gemacht,bzw.verkauft ???? wurde. ;-))

Business Sold to Quantum Heavy Equipment
MANITOWOC, Wis., Jan. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/-- The Manitowoc Company, Inc. (NYSE: MTW) today announced that it has completed the sale of Manitowoc Boom Trucks, Inc. to Quantum Heavy Equipment, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, for cash. The sale was required by the Department of Justice in order for Manitowoc to acquire Grove Worldwide. The final sales price was not disclosed.
As part of the transaction, all of Manitowoc Boom Trucks` assets and liabilities were transferred to Quantum Heavy Equipment, which, as required under the consent decree with the Department of Justice, has the right to use the "Manitowoc Boom Trucks" brand name for up to three years after the closing.
"While we are disappointed to sell this business, with the completion of this transaction all matters relating to the Grove acquisition are now complete," said Terry D. Growcock, Manitowoc`s chairman and chief executive officer.
Quantum Heavy Equipment is a subsidiary of Quantum Value Partners, LP. Quantum Value Partners acquires equity interests in small- and middle-market North American companies operating in the manufacturing, distribution, and service industries, with the goal of achieving long-term capital growth. In addition to acquiring Manitowoc Boom Trucks, Quantum Heavy Equipment was organized to create a strategic platform for additional acquisitions and future growth in the equipment marketplace.
The Manitowoc Company previously announced its intent to sell its boom- truck business on July 29, 2002, in response to an agreement reached with the Department of Justice concerning the Grove acquisition. Salomon Smith Barney advised Manitowoc on the transaction.

Business Sold to Investor Group Led by Current Management
The Manitowoc Company, Inc. (NYSE: MTW) today announced that it has sold its Femco Machine Company business to a group of private investors led by current Femco management and employees. The sale includes substantially all of Femco`s assets. The divestiture was a cash transaction, but the final sales price was not disclosed.
Femco, based in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, is a provider of aftermarket replacement parts for cranes and excavators, plus industrial repair and rebuilding services.
"As our Crane segment expanded significantly in the past two years, we found that Femco was outside the core focus of the segment going forward. As a result, we chose to divest it," said Terry D. Growcock, Manitowoc`s chairman and chief executive officer.
Femco was founded in 1965 and was acquired by Manitowoc in 1994. In addition to its Pennsylvania location, Femco also operates a full-service machine shop and rebuilding center in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Beide sind aufschlussreich,die Femco könnte allerdings bald wieder dringend gebraucht werden
Was mir zumindest mal auffällt http://finance.yahoo.com/q/it?s=MTW ist eine ellenlange Liste von Insiderkäufen vom 26 Nov bis 30 Dec.
Da mir dieses Detail nicht in den Plan?/Kram? passt schaue ich mir die Zahlen mal etwas genauer an.
Da sieh mal an Zwischen dem 2 und 5 Nov. wurde aber Kasse gemacht
Sollten die letzten Käufe nur getätigt worden sein um die Verkäufe etwas in den Hintergrund zu drücken.
