Also: basic and diluted earnings per share im ersten Halbjahr 2014 = 0,4267 Euro und basic and diluted earnings per share im ersten Halbjahr 2015 = 0,475 Euro.

Russia’s Gazprom cuts
investments in gas production
Gazprom’s investment in gas production
decreased by 41% y/y to RUB33.7bn ($518mn)
in 1Q, according to the Russian state company’s
financial report for January-March. In comparison
with the results in 4Q of 2014, the investments in
gas production plummeted by 3.7 times.
Capital investments in the gas production facilities
are carried out to the extent necessary, business
daily Vedomosti cited a Gazprom representative as
saying on August 12.
In 2014, Gazprom was preparing the launch of the
second production complex at the Bovanenkovo
field. Its construction as well as technical reequipment
of gas production facilities absorbed
the bulk of investments, the company said.
Gazprom’s total investments in 1Q increased
by 7% to RUB252bn. About 35% of this amount
were spent on gas transportation, 27% on
the production of oil and gas condensate.
In November 2014, the board approved the
company’s 2015 investment programme of
RUB840bn. Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said later
that the programme will be increased to more
than RUB1 trillion.
There is no need for Gazprom to invest in new
gas production now, as there is not sufficient
demand, Sberbank CIB analyst Valery Nesterov
told Vedomosti. The consumption of gas in
Europe is falling, and Gazprom has a surplus
capacity of 200bn cm, said the expert. According
toVedomosti’s calculations, Gazprom could save
on the unclaimed projects at least RUB2.4 trillion.
However, Gazprom expects that the demand for
gas will return and forecasts exports to Europe
to reach 156bn-160bn cm. JPMorgan analysts
also believe demand for gas will grow. When
consumption stabilizes, Gazprom will have the
advantage, as its cost of gas production is likely to
be lower than the production of liquefied natural
gas in the US in the next few years, the experts
said.
