Monsanto's stock still looks attractive even at a premium valuation of 18.4 times next year's earnings. Above, containers of the company's weed killer Roundup.
Four weeks ago, Monsanto Co. MON +0.81%boosted forecasts for its fiscal third quarter to a level 20% to 25% higher than analyst estimates. That makes it likely that results due Wednesday will meet or beat expectations for profit of $1.50 a share for the quarter ended in May, up from $1.26 a year earlier.
Yet the stock has struggled to hold on to gains since the company produced its rosier outlook. That shows investors already are looking well beyond Wednesday's results.
Monsanto blossomed in the five years ended in June 2008, providing investors with a 13-fold return once it began to cash in on novel seeds. But a correction in crop prices cured the market's infatuation; the stock now is slightly over half its peak. The reason: There is concern about what can go wrong with what is still, on paper, a tremendous growth opportunity for Monsanto.
Today, there is about half as much arable land per capita globally as half a century ago. At the same time, as the middle classes of developing countries acquire a taste for meat, the demand for grain to feed the animals will multiply.
Seed traits and herbicides will remain a key part of bridging that gap. An acre of U.S. farmland, where genetically modified crops are most accepted, yields twice as much corn as in China or Eastern Europe and four times as much as in India.

But threats loom. For one, Monsanto's most promising market, China, forces Western seed companies to team with local partners. This dilutes its opportunity and creates the risk valuable intellectual property will be transferred. Other jurisdictions unable to produce advanced seeds themselves, such as Argentina, have replicated old genetically modified seeds. Then there are seemingly unending intellectual property tussles with competitors.
Right now, Monsanto's competitive position is solid. Based on its growth prospects, which are at least as attractive as when its shares peaked four years ago, the stock still looks attractive even at a premium valuation of 18.4 times next year's earnings.
The more reassurance management can give investors about future threats on Wednesday, and not just current earnings, the more they will pay for Monsanto and its magical seeds.

Da steckt mehr Know How drin als man denkt.

: http://www.lohmann-information.com/content/l_i_2_01_artikel1…
Also wenn Fleisch, dann lieber was Gutes und nicht so oft und
wenn, bietet Huhn viele leckere Variationen. Lamm, Kaninchen etc. nicht vergessen
und dann natürlich noch Fisch !!!
nur meine Meinung

Futterquotient
Futterquotient [-] = aufgenommenes Futter [kg] / Zuwachs [kg]

@Fundinvest,

Lecker Chitin !!!
Empfehle fritierte Heuschreken, Skorpione, Maden und dergleichen !
