Resource Estimate at Song Jiaguo
Vancouver, British Columbia - April 25, 2006 - Majestic Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:MJS) is pleased to announce the results of a recently completed resource estimate on the Song Jiaguo prospect (one of thirteen licenses on the Muping Property), located in eastern Shandong Province, China. Three statistical methods were conducted using various cut-off grades to calculate the resource and the results are highlighted and tabulated below.
HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
Inferred Resource:
Kriged Method:
- 67,879,000 tonnes grading 0.36 grams per tonne (791,800 ounces) using 0.1 g/t cut-off
- 14,405,000 tonnes grading 0.77 grams per tonne (356,100 ounces) using 0.5 g/t cut-off
Nearest Neighbor Method:
- 60,071,000 tonnes grading 0.40 grams per tonne (770,800 ounces) using 0.1 g/t cut-off
- Including 13,223,000 tonnes grading 0.97 grams per tonne (413,900 ounces) using 0.5 g/t cut-off
ID2 (Inverse Distance Squared) Method:
- 65,305,000 tonnes grading 0.38 grams per tonne (788,300 ounces) using 0.1 g/t cut-off
- Including 13,498,000 tonnes grading 0.88 grams per tonne (380,200 ounces) using 0.5 g/t cut-off
"We are excited by the resource estimate on the Song Jiaguo license," said John Zimmerman, head of exploration for Majestic Gold. "It provides a solid foundation to build on and identifies key parameters for future development."
In calculating the resource estimate, high-grade values were reduced to 8 g/t due to the free gold distribution in the samples (the "nugget effect"). The limited number of sample points made it difficult to provide the necessary level of confidence in the controls on the high-grade structures.
"One of our immediate goals will be to characterize each of these controlling structures in detail," Zimmerman said. "This will allow the higher grades on these structures to be modeled separately with a significantly higher cut-off, leading to an increased grade overall and more contained ounces in the resource block."
Completed details are tabulated below for the inferred resource:

These resource estimates were produced in accordance with National Instrument 43-101 and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum standards on mineral resources and mineral reserves definitions and guidelines by an independent third party, Wardrop Engineering Inc., Greg Z. Mosher, P. Geo. The data used in this study was collected by Majestic Gold Corp. during its 2004 and 2005 exploration programs as well as drill holes completed by its joint venture partner in China (10%), the Shandong Yantai Muping Gold Mine ("Muping Mining"). A 43-101 compliant report was also produced by Wardrop and will be filed shortly with the Toronto stock exchange.
Gold mineralization at Song Jiaguo is hosted in a coarse conglomerate of the Cretaceous Linsishan Formation. Gold occurs along NE trending faults and fractures and is also disseminated within the matrix of the conglomerate.
Majestic has conducted preliminary metallurgical testing on several composite samples collected from Song Jiagou which confirm the presence of free gold. Early indications are that Song Jiaguo will require gravity concentration, prior to any other mineral processing steps such as cyanidation or flotation. Preliminary test results to date also show the material responds very well to cyanidation. The medium-grade composite sample (4.65 g/t Au) reported a 98% Au recovery and the low-grade composite sample (0.20 g/t Au) an 89% Au recovery. The high-grade composite sample (6.35 g/t Au) test is being redone with an initial gravity circuit which should recover a significant portion of the gold based on the metallics assays.
Majestic continues to gather data to assist with a scoping study on Song Jiaguo. Muping Mining is currently producing 120 tonnes per day from four underground levels and local villagers were previously mining a similar amount from open pits and shallower underground workings. Muping Mining has reported producing gold at a cost of approximately $305 USD per ounce from ore grading about 1.7 grams/tonne in their underground mine in 2005. The costs reported include $86.51 per ounce mining costs, $100.84 per ounce processing, $54.06 per ounce in refining, freight and taxes, and $63.75 in depreciation and other costs.
Muping Mining transports the ore from the mine site to a mill for flotation and then the concentrate is delivered to a smelter for finishing. All of the material mined is milled, and no intermediate step has been implemented.
The property owners have provided the company with access to the historical financial data. While all of the historical data reviewed are considered complete and the procedures followed appear to be reliable, the company has not completed a full auditing of the financial data provided. The Company is reporting them as an estimate of costs and they should not be relied upon.
"We will continue to explore ways to reduce both mining and processing costs through increased efficiencies," stated John Zimmerman. "We are extremely excited by the results we are seeing to date."
