Wenn ihr wissen wollt,wie es mit Lynas und der TOL weitergeht,einfach mal einen Blick in den GWG-Thread wagen.

Wenn sie mit der LAMP 100% fertig wären, müssen sie es meines Wissens veröffentlichen dort! Adhoc News konnte ich aber nicht finden und mich hat man hier im Forum aufgeklärt, das es illegal wäre wenn sie es nicht machen!

I am shortly leaving Malaysia today (Friday, May 11, 2012) after having toured the Lynas LAMP facility here, and you are so right about technology. When the current technology for separating and purifying the rare earths was invented some 40-50 years ago it was revolutionary, and it allowed the mass production, for the first time, of relatively affordable individual rare earth metals for the first time. The original driver was the production of europium, which in the form of a cathodoluminescent phosphor made quality color television and displays possible. Then the automotive industry found the samarium (rare earth) cobalt magnet and then came the neodymium-iron-boron magnet that underlies the revolution in miniaturized electronics that is still with us. Did I mention neodymium lasers, which are a laser of choice for high power operations, and terbium (rare earth) for compact fluorescent lamps?
There has been very little progress on any new technologies for separation of the individual rare earths; there has been a great deal of refinement in it and a dramatic increase in efficiency through the labors of Chinese scientists and engineers. The Chinese work is centered at an institute at Peking University, which has more than 30 academicians and PhD level professors and associate professors. The outstanding scientist in the field who himself has educated a generation of rare earth separation chemistry specialists is Professor of Chemistry and Director of the State Key Laboratory for Separation Scince, Dr Chun-Hua Yan.
Dr Yan was on the same visit to LAMP as I was; we were both invited by the AMS, the Malaysian Academy of Science, to survey the finished plant. Dr Yan agreed that the plant was state-of-the-art, as well made and engineered as any plant today in China.
Peking University and the University of Malaysia are embarking on a program to co-operate in the training of Malaysian scientists and engineers to study not only rare earth processing but also downstream development of functional rare earth products.
A revolution in processing technology may well come from a cooperation such as this one.
I suspect that LAMP may represent the zenith of solvent exchange for rare`earth separation. The next revolution in processing is most likley to come from those actively studying the problem in Asia, but there is still hope that it could happen in the west.
This is an exiting time to be a rare earth scientist in Asia.
Ausserdem bietet die fuehrende chinesische Universitaet im Bereich Rare Erath Elements an die Malayischen Wissenschaftler zu trainieren und fort-/auszubilden im Umgang mit der gesamten Behandlungskette fuer Seltene Erden und mit der Malaysischen Universitaet zu kooperieren.
