Neue Kursziele für US-Banken
New York (BoerseGo.de) – Analyst Prashant A. Bhatia von der Citigroup reduziert sein Rating für die US-Investmentbank Morgan Stanley von Buy auf Hold. Das Kursziel wird von 65 Dollar auf 45 Dollar gesenkt. Für die US-Investmentbank Goldman Sachs korrigiert der Finanzexperte sein Kursziel von 205 Dollar auf 175 Dollar nach unten. Die Aktie von Lehman Brothers wird von Hold auf Sell mit Kursziel 0,00 Dollar eingestuft. Das Kursziel für Merrill Lynch wird von 45 Dollar auf 29 Dollar nach unten revidiert.
Die Aktie von Morgan Stanley verliert aktuell 8,86 Prozent auf 33,86 Dollar, das Papier von Goldman Sachs verbilligt sich um 6,38 Prozent auf 144,66 Dollar, Merrill Lynch gewinnt 17,94 Prozent auf 20,10 Dollar und die Aktie von Lehman Brothers stürzt um 94, 21 Prozent auf 0,21 Dollar ein.

Shares of Washington Mutual Inc. fell sharply in premarket trading Monday, as a team of analysts said the bank's new chief executive must move quickly to assure depositors, regulators and investors that it can survive the credit crisis.
Shares lost 47 cents, or 17.2 percent, to $2.26. The stock has traded in a 52-week range of $1.75 to $39.25.
Keefe, Bruyette & Woods analysts Frederick Cannon, Robert Bohlen and Jacquelynne Chimera estimate credit expenses of $23 billion over 2008 and 2009 for the bank. In their "stress case," they expect the beleaguered bank will have to raise $5 billion in capital.
The analysts said CEO Alan Fishman, who was named to the post last week, will have to act fast to assure people of the bank's health, "as patience appears to be an increasingly rare virtue for his constituents."
"If he believes that the stress case is not realistic and that WaMu can survive the credit crisis without additional capital, he should be loath to raise capital given the current share price," the analysts wrote in a note to investors. "On the other hand, a capital raise, even at onerous levels, could, in our view, improve the confidence of depositors, regulators and investors."
The analysts maintained a "Market Perform" rating and a $5.50 price target on the bank. The target implies they still expect shares to double from their Friday close of $2.73.
Shares of Washington Mutual have taken a beating over the last week as investors have grown jittery about the bank's financial health. Last week, the bank said it will take another multibillion write-down for bad bets on mortgage securities, but insisted it has adequate capital to fund its operations.
