Lucara Diamond Corp. Reports Third Quarter Results
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/10/12 -- Lucara Diamond Corp. (TSX:LUC)(BOTSWANA:LUC)(NASDAQ OMX First North:LUC) ("Lucara" or the "Company") today reports its third quarter 2012 results.
Lucara completed two diamond sales at Karowe totalling 88,579 carats during the third quarter resulting in proceeds of $19.9 million. The company declared commercial production at Karowe as at July 1, 2012 and successfully achieved design throughput by August. At Mothae, a September sale of 4,657 carats resulted in proceeds of $1.5 million. The trial mining program was completed in September and work advanced on its preliminary economic assessment due to be completed during the first quarter of 2013.
William Lamb, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "We are pleased with performance during the past quarter, having successfully achieved design capacity at Karowe and completing two diamond sales at an average diamond sales price of $225 per carat. We are focussed on performance and cost control, which resulted in a cash operating margin of 46% for our September sale with operating expenses of $107 per carat. VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 10, 2012) - Lucara Diamond Corp. (TSX:LUC)(BOTSWANA:LUC)(NASDAQ OMX First North:LUC) is pleased to report results of the Karowe diamond sale completed on September 10, 2012. A total of 48 lots were put up for sale containing 52,231 carats of diamond. All lots were sold, including the 741 carats withheld from the previous sale for an average price of $257 per carat yielding gross proceeds of $13.4 million. The highest value stone sold was a 16.44 carat diamond which sold for $460,484 or $28,010 per carat.
The diamonds were sold on tender with pre-sale viewings in Gaborone and Antwerp. Viewings in Antwerp were held at the offices of Bonas-Couzyn. The large size of the diamond parcel sold results in part from the 7 week operating period since the close of the most recent sale in July, as compared to the normal 5 week sales cycle.

eigentlich doch sehr interessant die aktie. ich hoffe die 2 anfangsauktionen waren laufen unter startprobleme.
wenn erstmal volle produtkion erreicht ist und die zentralbanken die sachwertpreise in die höhe jagen, dann dürfte lucara sich mindestens wieder verdoppeln von hier aus.
was sagt ihr?

Construction of the process facilities and associated infrastructure is on schedule, and was sufficiently complete at the end of Q1 2012 to allow for commissioning activities to commence in April.
All sections of the process plant have been individually operated with run-of-mine ore with a number of these sections having already been run at or above design capacity. To date, as part of the commissioning process, more than 5,000t of ore has been processed through the front-end of the plant. Mining activities are significantly advanced with more than 280,000t of stockpiled ore being available to support the commissioning and ramp-up activities.
The team at Karowe continue to make excellent progress on commissioning activities. Hand-over to operations will commence once all sections of the process plant are operating as a single system.
Ramp-up to steady state full production will continue through Q2 2012.
