2007 2008 2009 2010 2011
8,22 6,76 5,94 6,81 8,55

Canada Pension Plan Investment Board Goes Live with SimCorp to Support Growth
Leading $129.7 billion Canadian pension plan using SimCorp Dimension to
leverage new investment opportunities.
- - -
The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), a Toronto-based professional
investment management organisation with $129.7 billion in assets under
management, has gone live with SimCorp Dimension to support the growth of
CPPIB's investment programmes. CPPIB is using SimCorp's flagship product to
improve scalability, control and automation in its investment opera-tions and
performance measurement.
CPPIB previously outsourced investment operations and performance activities to
a third party organisation. CPPIB wanted to internalise its portfolio
recordkeeping, accounting and performance measurement functions. They selected
SimCorp Dimension because it is robust enough to support the breadth of CPPIB's
complex operational processes, while also providing the scalability needed to
meet the needs of its existing, new and growing investment programmes. CPPIB
recognised that SimCorp had the foundation to introduce an integrated platform
for end-to-end investment management, minimising integration complexity and
simplifying operational workflow.
“What stood out to us immediately was the level of integration between
investment operations and performance processes that SimCorp Dimension
provides,” comments Benita Warmbold, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer at CPPIB. “SimCorp is helping us to scale our invest-ment and
operational processes to support the growing fund, and tailor our processes to
achieve the stability needed to support our long-term investment horizon.”
CPPIB is utilising SimCorp Dimension to support the firm's investment
operations in the areas of portfolio accounting, treasury and performance
measurement. SimCorp supported CPPIB throughout the implementation process to
ensure minimal disruption to the company's day-to-day operations.
David Kubersky, Managing Director of SimCorp North America, notes, “We're
pleased to be sup-porting CPPIB. As we strengthen our presence in Canada, we
are very pleased to partner with an organisation with the calibre of CPPIB, one
of Canada's largest institutional investors. The invest-ment management
industry is committing to growth and firms like CPPIB are a true reflection of
that commitment in their pursuit for the best enterprise software solutions to
support growth and value creation.”

HOOPP implements SimCorp Dimension to reduce operational risk and support investment strategy
Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) goes live with SimCorp Dimension.
The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), the pension plan of choice for
Ontario's hospital and community-based healthcare sector, announced today that
it has deployed SimCorp Dimension to act as the single, integrated system of
choice to support the firm's investment strategy. With AUM of $31 billion,
HOOPP selected SimCorp Dimension because of the platform's ability to provide a
completely integrated, front-to-back office system with robust capabilities
including derivatives management and accounting.
For the past few years, HOOPP has been engaged in implementing a liability
driven investment approach involving non-traditional portfolio structures and
alternative investment strategies. It became apparent that HOOPP's existing
portfolio management and accounting system would not support the types of
activities that the organization wished to undertake. HOOPP needed a portfolio
management and accounting system which could handle all of the various
investment products and strategies that they needed to employ. In addition,
they needed a system that was flexible enough to add new products and
strategies in the future and would provide timely and adequate reporting and
accounting to support investment decision making. Following a rigorous
selection process, HOOPP chose SimCorp Dimension which achieved all of the
required functionality in a single system.
“We run a very sophisticated portfolio and it was a high priority for us to
find and deploy a single solution that could support our operation,” comments
John Crocker, President & Chief Executive Officer of HOOPP. “Choosing SimCorp
was a strategic decision to support our team which manages all our assets
in-house. Work-arounds were no longer acceptable because in our business,
errors can translate into hundreds of millions of dollars. SimCorp is able to
support our complex derivatives book, all our existing instruments as well as
the ones we intend to bring on in the future.”
SimCorp Dimension acts as HOOPP's primary means of processing every transaction
on the books and is the system of record. HOOPP processes all instruments
through the system, including bonds, equities and derivatives.
David Kubersky, Managing Director of SimCorp North America, says, “HOOPP‘s
vision serves as an inspiration to all of us. During a time when staff
reduction and the outsourcing of money management activities are popular
solutions for cost-containment, HOOPP made a clear stand that great people who
understand the business of managing assets are pivotal to the company's future
growth. We are proud to back the good people of HOOPP with a platform that they
can count on.”

Was will man mehr in diesen Zeiten...

Centralisation of position-keeping in SimCorp Dimension provides single
authoritative source of data to support firm's investment strategy for
expansion
SimCorp, a leading provider of investment management software and services for
the global financial services industry, today released an in-depth video
describing the benefits American Century Investments has realised since the
firm went live on SimCorp Dimension two years ago.

Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, American Century Investments replaced
its legacy accounting platform with SimCorp Dimension to support expansion of
the firm's institutional and international business. 'After two years in
production, the investment operations team has greatly benefited from the
operational efficiency SimCorp offers,' notes Merele May, Senior Vice
President, Investment Operations at American Century Investments. 'However, the
real winners are our portfolio managers who are confident they have a system in
the back office that will support any new client or product they bring to the
table.'
