      WOW :D:D:D:cool::cool::cool:

The Vuzix AV310 widescreen video glasses have taken the world by storm. We feel like we’ve stepped into a time machine when we see these glasses.:eek:

They are designed for use with portable DVD players, video iPods and multimedia phones that are video capable like the N95 and the iPhone.

Put them on and step into the widescreen world of entertainment. They give the viewer the impression that you are watching a widescreen showing of your videos instead of staring at them at a tiny screen with an ache in your neck from leaning and tilting the screen away from the sun. Sound familiar? Well, not anymore! These video glasses are perfect for people who travel a lot especially on planes and trains.

They are also perfect for those that don’t have enough space at home for entertainment systems. The batteries included are rechargeable and last for up to four hours. These are replaceable so you can carry around an extra set in case you run out of power.

Just like the itheater video glasses, you may look a bit silly until everyone else catches on but what do you care? You’re watching the Matrix in Widescreen on your way to work and they’re just jealous! What are you waiting for? Order yours today!

Vuzix launches Tac-Eye LT head-up display

      Posted on 30 Nov 2011 at 11:43

Display specialist Vuzix has announced European availability of its Tac-Eye LT head-up monocular display, mounted to Oakley SI Ballistic M-Frame 2.0 protective glasses.

While wearable computing projects have yet to hit the mainstream - thanks largely to the prevalence of powerful smartphones that don't require strange eyewear to use - the technology is seeing increasing interest from professional markets, a sure sign that - as sales increase and prices drop - a push into the consumer market is due.

The Vuzix Tac-Eye LT, aimed at military, government and professional use, places a small AMOLED display offering a reasonably impressive 852x600 resolution just in front of the wearer's right eye to provide at-a-glance information without the need to stop an activity or lose use of a hand.

Designed to withstand shock, vibration, water and dust ingress and sudden changes in temperature - all vital for a system designed for use outdoors - the Tac-Eye LT offers a wealth of possibilities: as well as the more traditional military use of a head-up display for targeting or navigation information, professional users could view schematics or supporting documentation during complicated manual operations.

While the technology has its drawbacks - the use of a non-transparent display means that the user trades binocular vision for at-a-glance information - it's easy to see future smartphones coming with a Bluetooth-connected display for true hands-free use.

Sadly, those days could be a way off yet: although Vuzix is selling the display now, pricing is only available upon application to the company - suggesting that it's outside the reach of most consumers.

Vuzix Tac-Eye LT offers a clip on HUD for rugged, wannabe cyborgs
      By Terrence O'Brien posted Nov 29th 2011 5:50PM
      Vuzix Tac-Eye LT
Does a pair of screens placed over your eyes seem like overkill? Well, AR enthusiasts, Vuzix has heard your calls and has introduced the Tac-Eye LT -- a transparent monocular AMOLED display that only puts info in front of one of your peepers. Unlike some of the company's other head-mounted displays, the Tac-Eye isn't aimed at personal entertainment. Instead, Vuzix envisions it being used as a HUD in rugged environments, offering alerts, data and video feeds. The unit comes mounted on a pair of Oakley specs (of course) but it can easily be clipped to a pair of standard safety glasses. The 800 x 600 see-through display comes in three different configurations: VGA-in, video-in or both. The Tac-Eye LT is available throughout Europe now... at least according to the PR. We couldn't find them for sale anywhere, nor could we track down pricing info. Head on after the break for the full release and a few more technical details.

November 28th 2011, Oxford, UK: Vuzix Corporation (TSX-V: VZX, OTC:BB: VUZI, FMB: V7X) ("Vuzix" or the "Company") today announced that its Tac-Eye® Monocular Display System is now available for purchase across Europe. The Tac-Eye LT is a lightweight, low profile, high-resolution monocular eyewear designed for use in the field where rugged hands-free video displays are needed. Part of Vuzix' award winning technology, the Tac-Eye LT unit enables users to view the real world alongside relevant computer generated information, graphics and alerts. Available in three formats: Video, VGA and VGA/Video the Tac-Eye LT is available now from www.vuzix.eu

Designed with the mobile user in mind, its high-contrast SVGA (800x600) display is perfect for displaying images from a wearable computer, laptop, vehicle mounted computer system, security cameras, or any other video source. Combined with some of the new Ultra Mobile PC's, European users now have access to one of the lightest, rugged wearable computers systems ever built.

Mounted on Oakley SI Ballistic M-Frame 2.0 eyewear (but also clips onto standard safety glasses), the monocular display will improve the user's situational awareness over other monocular models. Currently used across several markets in the US, the Tac-Eye LT is expected to be a popular choice with industrial organisations across Europe due to being able to withstand varying degrees of shock, vibration, water, dust and temperature fluctuations.

The VGA unit includes a standard VGA connector as well as a rugged mouse, the Video unit provides a BNC and RCA connection that will accept NTSC, PAL, and RS-170 video signals and the VGA/ Video unit includes all of the connectors and input devices from both of the VGA and Video configurations.

David Lock, Director of Operations EMEA Region, Vuzix commented, "The Tac-Eye has been a popular choice among the defense, security and industrial sectors across the US for some time now and we have regularly received requests for information on the Tac-Eye products from interested parties in Europe. We're delighted to now be offering these products and to have the ability to fulfill all of the potential sales requests that come into the European office."
