"Ähnlich dem vor wenigen Tagen vorgestellten Head Mounted Display (HMD) von Sony arbeitet auch die von Vuzix gestern auf der Messe vorgestellte Dualscreen-Brille "Wrap 1200", nur daß diese keine eingebauten Kopfhörer aufweisen kann und auch die Auflösung der beiden Mini-Displays wohl nicht ganz so hoch ist. Technisch braucht sich Vuzix trotzdem nicht zu verstecken, haben sie doch einerseits eine Stellschraube für besten Abstand der zwei Screens und einen Fokus- beziehungsweise Dioptrin-Regler pro Auge angebracht, der sogar Brillenträgern ermöglichen soll, das Modell ohne ihre eigentliche Brille zu nutzen. Außerdem kostet das Vuzix-Modell im Endkundenpreis, den der Firmenvertreter David Lock geschickterweise mit "four two five Euros" angibt, auch gut ein Viertel weniger als das Sony HMZ-T1 und geht ab sofort in den Handel.

Noch etwas beeindruckender scheint aber die noch nicht erhältliche Augmented Reality Brille mit eingebauter HD-Kamera zu sein, die so noch nirgends vorher gezeigt wurde. Durch die direkte Wiedergabe bekommt man wohl den Eindruck durch halbdurchsichtiges Glas zu schauen, was sicher einen Teil der Begeisterung ausmacht. In großen Stückzahlen wird es die Systeme erst nach Weihnachten geben, aber vielleicht will man sich die Präsentation ja auch bloß für die CES im Januar aufheben. Shu war jedenfalls begeistert von dem etwas zu groß geratenen Nasenfahrrad mit Internetanschluß, aber das könnt ihr euch ja auch selbst ansehen. Hier sein Video: "

Vuzix Corporation (TSX-V: VZX, OTC:BB: VUZI; FMB: V7X) ("Vuzix" or the "Company") announced today it has granted stock option to an external director of the Company to purchase 1,000,000 common shares of the Company, exercisable at the price of $0.10 per share, subject to regulatory approval. The option agreements to be issued will be subject to the TSX four (4) month hold period and are granted in accordance with the Company's Stock Option Plan.
