LONDON (AFX) - Circle Oil PLC said it is looking for opportunities to expand in the Middle East as its current operations in Namibia, Oman and Panama move forward.

The company said it is currently focusing on exploration and development opportunities available in the Middle East and is assessing a number of potential acquisitions in the region.

In Namibia, the company has converted the reconnaissance licence it acquired in March 2004 into an initial 4-year exploration licence covering 140,000 square kilometres, the remainder of the original licence having been relinquished because it encompassed the Etosha National Game Reserve.

The company said the period of exclusivity for drilling and testing at the site granted to China Shine H F under the terms of the farm-in agreement the two companies signed last January has now expired.

Circle Oil said although it is continuing discussions with China Shine over the work, it is also now talking to other potential partners.

Referring to two blocks it operates in Oman, Circle said it will commence an aerogravity/aeromagnetic survey on onshore Block 49 within 2 months, and that bids have been received for seismic studies on offshore Block 52.

The company said its prospecting permit in Panama has already shown the existence of hydrocarbon sources enhancing the prospectivity of the block. It is now in talks with another oil company under which it will give up a stake in the block in return for sharing the cost of its development.

Meanwhile the company has also appointed Brendan McMorrow FCCA as its chief financial officer, with immediate effect.

      03 February 2006: Operating Update

      CIRCLE OIL PLC
      (“Circle” or the “Company”)

Circle Oil plc (AIM: COP), the oil & gas exploration and development group, today issues this Operating Update. The Operating Update is in advance of the Company’s Preliminary Results for the year ended 31 December 2005, which are expected to be released in May 2006. The information contained herein has not been audited and is subject to further review.

      Namibia

Circle’s reconnaissance licence in Namibia, originally acquired in March 2004, has been converted into an exploration licence. This new exploration licence covers
an area of 140,000 square kilometres, the remainder of the original licence having been relinquished because it encompassed the Etosha National Game Reserve. The
terms of the new licence include a commitment to acquire seismic and to drill a well over a 4 year period after which the licence can be extended. The Company is about to open a local office in Namibia and will begin work on the ground later this quarter.

Discussions with China Shine in regard to the farmout agreement signed on 22 January 2005 continue, although the period of exclusivity granted to China Shine ended in September 2005. Circle has begun discussions with other industry partners who have expressed interest in this large exploration area. Negotiations have commenced with seismic contractors to conduct 2D seismic surveys over a number of targets in the area. The Environmental Impact Study contract has been awarded to a local contractor
and this contract will commence within the next month.

      Oman

During 2005, Circle signed Exploration and Production Sharing Agreements (“EPSA”) covering two significant licences in Oman. The onshore Block 49 licence and offshore Block 52 licence cover a combined 115,000
square kilometres, make Circle one of Oman’s largest
licence holders by area. An Environmental Impact Study
of Block 49 will begin shortly while an extensive seismic survey of Block 52 is being prepared. The licences are managed out of the Circle’s Houston office, however, the Company has recruited a country manager and is opening an office in Muscat. Circle will commence the aerogravity/aeromagnetic survey on Block 49 within 2 months and bids have been received for the offshore seismic studies on Block 52 from a number of contractors.

      Panama

In late November 2005, Circle was granted a prospecting permit over Block A in the south-western Caribbean covering 30,000 square kilometres in the Panamanian waters of the Colombia Basin, one of the major basins in the Caribbean Plate. There is already evidence in the area to suggest the existence of hydrocarbon sources which enhances the prospectivity of the block. The Company is currently gathering all existing data available on the area and a number of seismic lines are being reprocessed and reinterpreted using the latest technology.

Circle has entered into discussions with another oil company with a view to an agreement whereby the Company, in return for a reduced equity stake in the block, will recover its historic costs and future costs will be
shared pro-rata for the proposed exploration programme.

      Other areas

Circle is currently focussing on exploration and development opportunities available in the Middle East and is assessing a number of potential acquisitions in the region.

      Financial

Having raised £10 million in August 2005 the net cash position at the year end was approximately US$17.2 million which the Company considers to be sufficient to cover its ongoing expenditure requirements and obligations.

      Appointment of Chief Financial Officer

The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Brendan McMorrow FCCA as its Chief Financial Officer with immediate effect. Mr. McMorrow has been involved in all financial aspects of publicly quoted companies in Ireland, UK and North America. He brings a significant level of knowledge and experience to Circle in the areas of fund raising, project financing and financial and stock exchange reporting. Prior to joining Circle he was Chief Financial Officer of Ivernia Inc, a Toronto based international base-metals mining and exploration company.

David Hough, Chief Executive of Circle, said:

“I am pleased with Circle’s progress during a year in which we have become established in some highly prospective hydrocarbon regions. The year ahead also looks promising, with a number of exciting opportunities emerging, in particular from the Middle East.”

Circle Oil Signs Morocco Deal - Monday June 26, 2006

Circle Oil plc (AIM: COP), the oil and gas exploration and development group, announces that Circle Oil Maroc Ltd (COML), its wholly owned subsidiary, has signed a Petroleum Agreement covering the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons with the Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM) for the Sebou Concession situated in the Rharb Basin, Morocco. The concession covers an area of over 269 square kilometres and is for a period of 8 years with the right of automatic conversion to a minimum (but extendable) 25 year exploitation period upon the discovery of commercially exploitable hydrocarbons. Under the terms of the agreement the percentage interest in the permit is COML 75% and ONHYM 25%. COML has agreed to carry out a 3D seismic survey to fully assess and rank the many prospects already identified in the area before commencing a 6 well drilling programme in 2007. This equates to the minimum work programme for the first 3 years of the permit.Commenting on the agreement David Hough, Chief Executive of Circle Oil, said: “This agreement is significant as it provides Circle with a low risk concession with the potential for low cost, fast track development and production. There is an existing local market with good demand for gas and an established pipeline network through the permit area. Success here will provide a long term continuing earnings contribution to the Company.”

      CHAIRMAN’S STATEMENT

I am pleased to report a year of further progress and achievement in 2005 and I can confirm that this has continued into 2006 with the signing of an agreement on an exciting new gas play in Morocco and the current status of negotiations on a number of prospects in several countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

In Oman, Circle was awarded Block 49 in June 2005 and Block 52 in September 2005. Circle was awarded its offshore Panama Block in late August 2005. A substantial amount of work has been carried out by our Houston-based technical team reprocessing and reassessing the available data on our Namibia, Oman and Panama holdings. So far the results of these studies have been very encouraging and have given us a greater understanding of the potential for each of these licences. Importantly, it has given direction and focus to the 2006 work programmes which are now underway.

Over the past eight months, Circle’s acquisition programme has focused primarily on the Middle East and North Africa and has resulted in the recent award of a very interesting concession in the Rharb Basin, northwestern Morocco. Historically, exploration there has demonstrated the ability to find and produce significant amounts of hydrocarbons in the form of methane. This gas occurs in defined prospects which are numerous but small in size.

They are, however, economically attractive as they occur at shallow depths (less than 1,500 metres) and there is a nearby gas pipeline network and a local market for the gas. Initially, Circle will carry out a detailed seismic study over the area which will be followed by a drilling programme.

In Namibia, an environmental impact study was awarded to a local company and has begun over the area of initial interest. This will be followed by a seismic survey next year. Despite much correspondence between the parties, China Shine failed to demonstrate to Circle, before the proposed agreement with it on our Namibian licences expired in September 2005, that China Shine had the technical and financial capability to deliver on the terms of the agreement. However, a number of potential partners, including some major oil companies, are currently studying our Namibian and other portfolios with a view to participating with us in our exploration activities, which is in line with Circle’s stated strategy.

In Oman, preparations are underway for an aerogravity and aeromagnetic survey over a large area of Block 49 to be followed by a seismic survey next year. In addition, a 6,000 km seismic survey of Block 52 has been awarded to TGS Nopec which will commence in the autumn.

We are contemplating the acquisition of some regional seismic data in the Panamanian area later this year and are currently checking out the availability of a suitable ship. A participating agreement has been signed on our Panamanian licence with an Australian company Montage Petroleum Limited. Montage has taken a one third share in the licence and will contribute to future exploration programmes in proportion to its interest in the licence.

Having completed the studies on our Celtic Sea acreage we concluded that the drilling of a well could not be justified at this time and the licence was surrendered.

As you are aware, in August 2005, Circle raised Stg £10 million gross in a placing of new shares.

This has resulted in the Company having approximately US $17.5 million in its treasury at the end of May 2006 which is sufficient to cover its ongoing expenditure requirements and obligations.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome three new members to Circle’s team: Professor Chris Green to the Board, Brendan McMorrow to the position of Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary and Dr. Bob LoPiccolo as Vice President Exploration. I have no doubt that the depth of knowledge and experience of each of these individuals in all aspects of natural resources exploration and development will contribute significantly to Circle’s future.

With the reassessment work on our existing holdings showing some very encouraging results, our work programmes underway and a number of new deals signed or under negotiation, I am looking forward to an exciting period for Circle over the next 12 to 18 months. As the Company develops a balanced portfolio of international exploration assets I know that our team is fully focused on the end game, namely getting joint venture partners into our large acreage blocks and production from one or more of our assets as soon as possible.

      Thomas Anderson,

      Chairman

      OPERATIONS REVIEW

      NAMIBIA

Circle has converted its two-year reconnaissance license in the Owambo Basin into a four-year exclusive Exploration Licence. During the first phase the licence requires a seismic data acquisition and a one-well drilling program. Two additional extensions, each of two years, are optional and require the drilling of an additional well during each extension.

The block occupies an area of approximately 140,000 square kilometres and covers nearly all of the prospective part of the Owambo Basin in northern Namibia. In 2004 Circle’s subsidiary, First African Oil Corporation, completed its first operations in the area by acquiring some 7,627 kilometres of aerogravity and aeromagnetic data in the central and western portions of the block. This data has been interpreted and is being used to help plan the upcoming seismic programme.

From the historical and new data interpretation two main play types have been identified. Both involve thrombolitic or stromatolitic (algal) sources and reservoirs of late Proterozoic to early Cambrian age. The first play type involves several large, gentle structures. One well, on a poorly defined structure in the Etosha National Park, has tested the objective interval and a minimal amount of oil was recovered. Chemical analyses relate it to the Proterozoic thereby confirming the play concept.

A second play type defines a number of potentially large algal mounds or carbonate banks within the prospective interval. These are often associated with structural elements in the basement and are seen as analogous to reefal type buildups seen outcropping in the nearby Nama Basin.

Having completed a large portion of the historical seismic reinterpretation and incorporating the results of the new aerogravity/aeromagnetic survey, tender documents are being prepared to carry out a dual-purpose 2D seismic programme in the spring of 2007. This programme will be used to firm up two drillable prospects and detail a number of other leads.

In agreement with our partner NAMCOR, and for environmental reasons, Circle did not convert that section of the concession that encompasses the Etosha National Park, one of the finest game parks in Africa. The company has recently commenced an Environmental Impact Assessment of the area to be covered by the new seismic programme. This survey is being undertaken by a local Namibian company.

      SULTANATE OF OMAN

Circle has two concessions in the Sultanate of Oman. The first, Block 49, is located in the southwestern border area with Saudi Arabia while the Company’s Block 52, lies offshore from the south and southeastern coasts.

      Onshore Block 49

An Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and Circle Oil Oman Ltd. on Block 49 was negotiated and signed in June 2005. The agreement calls for three years of seismic and potential-fields data acquisition and analysis, followed by two, optional extensions, of eighteen months each, which would involve further data acquisition as well as drilling campaigns.

The block occupies an area of 15,438 sq. km and is located in the Rub Al Khali Basin. Circle has done a full inventory of all historic data on the area and has transferred a considerable portion of the 11,438 km of seismic and 18,047 km of aeromagnetics to Houston for reinterpretation. This work began late last year and is ongoing.

To date, two main play concepts are being pursued: the Sahmah play and the Lower Haima/Huqf play. The Sahmah play in the Rub Al Khali Basin in Saudi Arabia has been a major provider of hydrocarbons for many years and the Company is hopeful that this play extends into the north of Block 49.

Several billion barrels of oil have been discovered in Proterozoic/Cambrian reservoirs associated with the Ara Salt in the South Oman Salt Basin to the southeast of the block. There is evidence of the presence of a similar salt basin beneath the western part of Block 49. This new salt basin has been named the Ghudun Salt Basin and the exploration program for Block 49 has the two-fold objective of confirming the extent of salt and delineating likely targets for drilling.

An aerogravity/magnetic programme over a portion of the area has been awarded to Fugro and it will be flown this summer. Data from this survey will help define the extent of the Ghudun Salt Basin in the Block. The company may conduct a magneto-telluric profiling survey through parts of the block as an additional confirmatory measure of salt presence and thickness. In the autumn an Environmental Impact Assessment will be completed to be followed by a 2D, seismic acquisition programme.

      Offshore Block 52

An Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and Circle Oil Oman Offshore Ltd. on Block 52 was negotiated and signed in September 2005. This agreement calls for seismic data acquisition and analysis during the first three years. Two optional extensions of three years each will involve further seismic data acquisition as well as drilling campaigns.

The block occupies an area of 90,760 square kilometres with water depths ranging from 200 to 3,500 meters. Copies of the 10,540 km of previously acquired 2D, seismic data have been obtained, along with the associated gravity and magnetic data. Three wells have been drilled prior to the granting of the licence to Circle.

A satellite-based seep study was commissioned last year as well as an analysis of existing gravity and magnetic data; the results of these studies and our ongoing reinterpretation indicate three different exploration opportunities may exist within the block. Existing gravity, magnetic, and seismic data are being interpreted. Circle will carry out a marine seismic survey this Autumn. The Company has already tendered this survey and the contract has been awarded to TGS-Nopec.

      The three play areas are:

      1) an inboard basin, which is the southwestern extension of the Messiah Trough, has seen most of the seismic activity and all of the drilling. The basin appears to be at least Tertiary and possibly older in age; two of the wells confirm that the basement highs have been stripped of pre-Jurassic sediments, while the third well and the seismic suggest that the potentially prolific Huff sequence may be preserved off the highs.

      2) a trusted amphibolites (oceanic crust) has been emplaced along part of the shelf and the possibility is good that large structures, again with the Huff sequence preserved, may be present beneath the amphibolites.

      3) a large, deep Tertiary Basin in the western half of the block. Current seismic control demonstrates the presence of mini-basins which probably received deep water sediments delivered through submarine canyons. This unexplored basin was created by the rifting which opened the Gulf of Aden; the sediment would have been derived from the granitic and Paleozoic rocks exposed along the coasts of Oman and Yemen.

      PANAMA

On August 29, 2005 Circle was granted a Geological, Geochemical, and Geophysical Prospecting Permit on Block A in the deep water Caribbean, offshore Panama. The block is comprised of some three million acres and lies in water depths ranging from 500 to 3,000 meters. The company has obtained and is evaluating existing data. Circle may carry out a short regional seismic survey there later this year depending on the availability of a suitable seismic survey ship in the area.

The block is located at an interesting juncture where the deformed, accretionary prism on the north side of Panama overlaps the edges of the Costa Rica and Magdalena submarine fans. To date there have been no wells drilled in the area and only a limited amount of seismic data is available. Seeps, gas hydrates, and mud volcanoes all suggest the presence of an active petroleum system. This location may have the potential to combine good reservoir rocks with large structures and mature source rocks.

A participation agreement has been signed with Montage Petroleum Limited, a private Australian company with offices in London and the USA. Montage’s directors have a history of success in offshore oil exploration in projects similar to the Panama property. Montage has taken a one third interest in the licence and will contribute to future exploration programmes pro rata to its participating interest. Montage intends to seek a listing on the Australian Stock Exchange later this year.

      MOROCCO

Circle Oil Maroc Ltd (COML), a wholly owned subsidiary of Circle Oil plc, has signed an Exploration and Exploitation Agreement with Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM) for the Sebou Concession (296 sq. km) situated in the Rharb Basin, Morocco. The Exploration Agreement is for a total period of eight years with the right of automatic conversion to a minimum (but extendable) 25 year exploitation period.

The Sebou Permit has previously been owned, explored and exploited by ONHYM. Under the agreement the percentage interest in the permit is COML 75% and ONHYM 25%. The permit is highly prospective and is located in a basin that has an historic natural gas production of almost 1 billion cubic metres of gas. 2D seismic and well calibration is available and ONHYM have extensive knowledge of the area. Small scale gas production within the Rharb is presently from four wells. COML as operator will be conducting a 3D seismic survey and drilling 6 wells over the next 3 year period.

The Rharb Basin is a foredeep Basin located in the external zone of the Rif Folded belt. Sedimentary evolution started with a thick series of Eocene and Oligocene turbidites in the north. Marine conditions in the Middle Miocene resulted in shaly to shaly-sand sedimentation overlain by the Prerif-nappe. During the early Tortonian era a series of turbiditic sand lenses were deposited and a subsequent rise in the sea level permitted the deposition of a very thick series of marls. Similar events occurred during the Late Tortonian, Messinian and Pliocene.

Exploration within the Rharb has concentrated on the Tertiary depositional system which contains commercial deposits of biogenic gas. These individual prospects are small in size but important and economically interesting. They are shallow and located generally between 500 and 1,500 metres. They are very inexpensive to drill and also, to hook up due to the presence of a local gas pipeline network. There is also a good market with increasing demand for the sale of the natural gas to local industry.

The agreement is important as it provides COML with a low risk concession with the concomitant potential of low cost, fast track development. Previous success rates in the Rharb basin have been in excess of 60%. The area generally has good charge and good natural drive and there are multiple prospects already identified within the permit. These will be fully assessed and ranked by the 3D seismic survey prior to commencing drilling in 2007. Prospects previously developed and ranked by ONHYM will also be included.

The permit has considerable potential for the exploration and development of more natural gas and exploitation would be by a series of low cost wells/producers each producing from 20-80 million cubic metres of gas. The produced gas will be sold to local industry at locally agreed commercial rates. If successful, the development will allow COML to achieve production in a relatively short time scale and provide a long term continuing earnings contribution to COML.

      CIRCLE OIL PLC

      (“Circle” or the “Company”)

Aerogravity & Aeromagnetic Survey Completed on Oman Block 49

Circle Oil plc (AIM: COP), the international oil and gas exploration and development group, is pleased to announce that Circle Oil Oman Ltd, its wholly-owned subsidiary and Fugro Aerosurveys, Johannasburg, S.A. have successfully completed a 4800 kilometer airborne survey of the gravity and magnetic fields over Block 49 in western Oman. The highly-accurate, Russian-made GT1-A gravimeter was utilized and the results of preliminary processing are very encouraging.

Block 49 is on the southern edge of the Rub al Khali Basin and on the eastern flank of the Ghudun Salt Basin. Circle has the exclusive right to explore for oil and gas on the 15,438 square-kilometer block.

Analysis of the gravity and magnetic data will be integrated with ongoing studies to facilitate the design of a 2D seismic survey, which depending on the availability of a suitable survey team, is scheduled to commence in early 2007. Preliminary analysis already indicates that the eastern edge of a postulated InfraCambrian salt basin, analogous to the nearby highly-oil productive South Oman Salt Basin, extends into Block 49.

Commenting on the survey, Dr. Bob LoPiccolo, Vice President Exploration for Circle Oil, said:

“The successful completion of this survey marks a significant first step in Circle’s aggressive exploration effort on its onshore Oman concession. The data fills a critical gap in our knowledge of the geometry of the Ghudun Basin and will be valuable to us in designing the forthcoming 2D seismic programme”

Circle also has active exploration programs in Block 52 offshore Oman, in the Owambo Basin, Namibia, in the Caribbean Sea, offshore Panama and in the Rharb Basin, Morocco.

CIRCLE OIL CONTRACTS WITH TGS-NOPEC TO CONDUCT OMAN MARINE SEISMIC SURVEY

Circle Oil plc (AIM: COP), the international, oil and gas exploration and development group, is pleased to announce that Circle Oil Oman Offshore Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary, has signed a contract with TGS-Nopec Geophysical Company (UK) Limited (“TGS”) to acquire 2D seismic data over Block 52, offshore Oman. The survey will include some 6000 kilometres of seismic data in addition to shipborne gravity data. TGS will acquire the data using the Russian research vessel, Akademik Lazarev, which is expected to arrive on site and begin the survey in mid-October. Circle has already completed an environmental impact study prior to commencement of the survey.

Block 52 is located off the southwestern coast of the Sultanate of Oman and extends some 600 kilometres northeast from the Yemeni border. The Block also extends offshore for up to 150 kilometres. Circle has the exclusive right to explore for oil and gas on this 90,760 square kilometre block.

The results of this survey will delineate prospective areas within a recently identified but, as yet, undrilled salt basin. It is anticipated that the sediments present in this basin will be prove to be of a similar age and origin to those in the prolific South Oman Salt Basin which lies onshore some 100 kilometres to the northwest.

Commenting on the upcoming survey, Mr. Jack Keyes, Chief Operating Officer for Circle Oil, said:
      :lick:

“This is a very important survey both for Circle Oil and the Sultanate of Oman. It will provide the cornerstone to an ambitious exploration program that could open up several new hydrocarbon plays.”

Circle has the largest licence holding of any company in Oman. In addition to Block 52, the company also has an ongoing exploration program in onshore Block 49. Worldwide, the company is active in exploration in the Owambo Basin, Namibia; in the Caribbean Sea, offshore Panama and in the Rharb Basin, Morocco.

      2006 Interim Results

      FURTHER PROGRESS IN KEY AREAS

Circle Oil plc (AIM: COP), the international oil & gas exploration, development and production company with a growing portfolio of assets in Morocco, Namibia, Oman and Panama, today announced its Interim Results for the period to 30 June 2006.

      Highlights

. Acquisition, reprocessing and reinterpreting of available data for each of Circle’s four existing licences in Oman, Namibia and Panama continues. Results to date give considerable encouragement in each of the areas.

      · The award of Sebou, a small but significant licence in the Rharb Basin, Morocco, is Circle’s first success in its new evolving strategy of investing in more advanced projects. A low risk concession, Sebou, has potential for low cost, fast track development and production.

      · Circle also signed an agreement with ONHYM to participate in a two well programme for the Sebou area which has since resulted in a gas discovery, initial interpretation of which indicates it to be typical of those in the Rharb. Testing is ongoing.

Mr Thomas Anderson, Chairman of Circle Oil, said:

“I am very pleased with the results of the compilation programme on Namibia, Oman and Panama and I’m confident that the aggressive exploration strategy being pursued on these areas will bear fruit.

I am however particularly delighted with the gas discovery currently being tested in the Sebou area, Morocco. This area is an ideal investment at this stage of Circle’s development as it potentially allows us to build up cash flow, on a long term basis, at a low entry cost whilst we still have the opportunity of bigger discoveries elsewhere.”

      Note to Editors

Circle Oil is an international oil and gas exploration company with existing licence operations in Oman, Namibia, Morocco and Panama. Its strategy is to locate and secure licences and through targeted investment programmes, monetise the value in those assets for the benefit of shareholders. This will be achieved through farm-outs to selected partners who can then invest in and continue the development of the asset into production. In low risk, near-term projects Circle may itself opt to use its own expertise to appraise reserves and bring assets into production, generating long term cash flow for further investment.

The company listed on AIM in October 2004.

      2006 INTERIM REPORT

      CHAIRMAN’S STATEMENT

      Dear Shareholder,

I am pleased to report that the period under review has been an interesting and productive one for Circle. Our focus has been twofold, firstly to advance our knowledge base on our existing portfolio and get these licences ready for an aggressive exploration programme and secondly to build on our later stage projects to give the Company more short term potential to balance our exploration portfolio.

The team has also been active in seeking joint venture partners in particular for our onshore Namibian and offshore Omani acreage. Presentations have been made to a substantial number of companies in this regard and this work is ongoing. We expect that these discussions will be concluded in the coming months.

      OPERATIONS

Regarding our existing licences in onshore and offshore Oman, Namibia and Panama, the Company’s Houston based exploration team, led by Jack Keyes and Bob LoPiccolo, have been extremely busy acquiring, reprocessing and reinterpreting all available data for each of the four licence areas involved. This task has been painstaking but the results of our efforts so far have given us considerable encouragement in each of the areas. Our exploration going forward will focus on the results of this new work.

A number of very interesting but untested anomalies have been identified and these will be investigated further. Work has already begun on our onshore Oman and Namibian licences and a seismic survey will be undertaken later this year on the offshore Oman area and on the Panama area once a suitable seismic ship is available locally.

In onshore Oman, Fugro Aerosurveys, Johannesburg, S.A. has successfully completed a 4,800 kilometre airborne survey of the gravity and magnetic fields over our Block 49 licence. Block 49 is on the southern edge of the Rub al Khali Basin and on the eastern flank of the Ghudun Salt Basin. Circle has the exclusive right to explore for oil and gas on this 15,438 square-kilometre block.

Initial processing of the results is very encouraging and analysis of the gravity and magnetic data will be integrated with ongoing studies to optimise the design of a 2D seismic survey which is scheduled to commence next year. The preliminary analysis already indicates that the eastern edge of a postulated InfraCambrian salt basin, analogous to the nearby highly-oil productive South Oman Salt Basin, extends into Block 49.

The successful completion of this survey marks the first step in Circle’s exploration effort on its onshore Oman concession. The data fills a critical gap in our knowledge of the geometry of the Ghudun Basin and will be invaluable to us in designing the forthcoming 2D seismic programme.

In Namibia, an environmental impact study is well underway over the initial areas of interest. This study is a necessary precursor to the seismic survey which is currently being planned .

A 6,000 kilometre seismic survey on our offshore Oman licence Block 52 has been awarded to TGS Nopec and this survey will commence within the next two months.

Discussions are ongoing regarding the carrying out of a regional seismic survey on our offshore Panama licence. The Company has concluded a joint venture on the Panama licence with Montage Petroleum Limited, a private Australian company currently preparing for public floatation. We have farmed out a one third interest in the licence to Montage.

      ACQUISITIONS

As part of our portfolio management we are investing in some more advanced projects. This programme is being directed out of our London office by Prof. Chris Green and Shamil Daoud, our Middle East manager. They are focusing on projects in the Middle East and North Africa. Projects have already been examined in Morocco, Libya, Tunisia, Syria, Jordan, Yemen and Kurdistan in Northern Iraq and negotiations are ongoing on several of these projects.

Our first success in this regard was the awarding in June of a small but significant licence in the Rharb Basin, inland from Rabat in northern Morocco. The Sebou licence covers an area of over 269 square kilometres and is for a period of 8 years with the right of automatic conversion to a minimum (but extendable) 25 year exploitation period upon the discovery of exploitable hydrocarbons. Under the terms of the agreement the percentage interest in the permit is Circle 75% and Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM) 25%. Circle has agreed to carry out a 3D seismic survey to fully assess and rank the many prospects already identified in the area before commencing a 6 well drilling programme in 2007 and 2008 drilling periods. This equates to the minimum work programme for the first 3 years of the permit.

This agreement is significant in that it provides Circle with a low risk project and the potential for low cost, fast track development and production. This area has a history of production from a number of small shallow-depth natural gas deposits, most of which have given a very good return on investment. There is an existing local market with good demand for gas in the region and an established pipeline network through the permit area. Success here will provide a long term continuing earnings contribution to the Company.

Side by side with the awarding of the Sebou licence, Circle signed an agreement with ONHYM to participate in a two well programme already planned by ONHYM for the Sebou area. I am very pleased to inform you that this drilling campaign has resulted in a gas discovery initial interpretation of which indicates it to be typical of those in the area. Well testing by ONHYM is ongoing and further announcements will be made to shareholders once the testing, analysis and discussion about these results is complete.

Circle is interested in further investment in Morocco. We are currently examining a number of other potential projects there and discussions are ongoing with a potential local partner.

      FINANCIAL RESULTS

The Group recorded an operating loss before tax of €1,464,398 for the half year period. The increased loss reflects costs associated with additional staffing and related office and travel, foreign exchange losses and the implementation of Financial Reporting Standard 20 Share Based Payment (“FRS 20”). FRS 20 requires an estimate of the non-cash costs associated with the issuing of share options to be charged to the profit and loss account. These non-cash costs amounted to €342,000 for the half year.

At June 30, the Group had cash balances of €13.3 million (including €1.99 million of restricted cash) and no debt. The Group had a working capital surplus of €13.1 million at the end of the reporting period.

      CONCLUSION

I am very pleased with the results of the compilation programme on Namibia, Oman and Panama and am confident that the aggressive exploration strategy being pursued on these areas will bear fruit. I am, however, particularly delighted with the gas discovery currently being tested in the Sebou area and the ongoing acquisition programme there and in other countries in North Africa and the Middle East. The Sebou area is an ideal investment for a Company at our stage of development as it potentially allows us to build up cash flow, on a long term basis, at a low entry cost whilst we still have the opportunity of bigger discoveries elsewhere.

I would like to thank all our shareholders, my fellow directors and Circle employees for their contribution over this period. I look forward to success through their efforts in the years ahead as we enhance the value of the Company.

      Oman Block 49

An Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and Circle Oil Oman Ltd. on Block 49 was negotiated and signed in June 2005. The agreement calls for three years of seismic and potential-fields data acquisition and analysis, followed by two, optional extensions, of eighteen months each, which would involve further data acquisition as well as drilling campaigns.

The block occupies an area of 15,438 km2 and is located in the Rub Al Khali Basin. Circle Oil has done a full inventory of all historic data on the area and has transfered a considerable portion of the 11,438 km seismic and 18,087 km of aeromagnetics to Houston for reinterpretation. This work began late last year and is ongoing.

To date, two main play concepts are being pursued: the Sahmah play and the Lower Haima/Huqf play. The Samah play in the Rub Al Khali Basin in Saudi Arabia has been a major provider of hydrocarbons for many years and the Company is hopeful that this play extends into the north of Block 49.

Several billion barrels of oil have been discovered in Proterozoic/Cambrian reservoirs associated with the Ara Salt in the South Oman Basin to the southeast of the block. There is evidence of the presence of a similar salt basin beneath the western part of Block 49. This new salt basin has been named the Ghudun Salt Basin and the exploration programme for Block 49 has the two-fold objective of confirming the extent of salt and delineating likely targets for drilling.

An aerogravity/magnetic programme over a portion of the area has been awarded to Fugro and it will be flown this summer. Data from ths survey will helf define the extent of the Ghudun Salt Basin in the Block. The company may conduct a magneto-telluric profiling survey through parts of the block as an additional confirmatory measure of salt presence and thickness. In the autumn an Environmental Impact Assessment will be completed to be followed by a 2D, seismic acquisition programme.

Marine Seismic Data Acquisition Oman Offshore - Block 52

Circle Oil plc (AIM: COP), the international oil & gas exploration and development company with a growing portfolio of assets in Morocco, Namibia, Oman and Panama, today announces that in conjunction with TGS-Nopec Geophysical Company work is progressing according to plan on the acquisition of approximately 6,000 kilometers of 2D seismic data over Block 52, offshore Oman. The signing of the contract for this survey with TGS-Nopec was noted in September 2006.

The survey is being acquired by the Russian research vessel Akademik Lazarev, and is expected to take approximately two months to complete. The survey will also include the acquisition of shipborne gravity and magnetic data.

The interpretation of this new data will be instrumental in further delineating existing plays previously defined by Circle throughout the past year. These include an untested, inboard basin play of probable salt-related Infracambrian to Paleozoic-aged objectives, a sub-ophiolite play and a Tertiary-aged turbidite play.

Block 52 is located off the southwestern coast of the Sultanate of Oman and extends some 600 kilometers northeast from the Yemeni border. The Block also extends offshore approximately 150 kilometers. Circle has the exclusive right to explore for oil and gas within the block, which has an aerial extent of 90,760 square kilometers. Circle has the largest license holding of any company in Oman. In addition to Block 52, the company also has an ongoing exploration program in onshore Block 49.

TGS-Nopec has the right to market acquired data to third parties for any area of Block 52 that Circle ultimately relinquishes. However, Circle is entitled to a pre-defined share of any revenue from the sale of such data.

Commenting on progress of the survey David Hough CEO of Circle Oil said:

“The offshore Oman survey sees Circle entering the next stage of its exploration strategy in this highly prospective area. The results of our re-interpretation programme have revealed at least three new target plays. The addition of the new data will firm up our understanding of this prospective Block and will put us in a position to generate leads for future drilling.”

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF OFFSHORE OMAN SEISMIC SURVEY

Circle Oil plc (AIM:COP), the international oil and gas exploration and development company, is pleased to announce the successful completion of its 6,300 kilometre seismic survey over Block 52, in the Arabian Sea, off the southwestern coast of Oman. The acquisition of the 2-D seismic data was carried out by TGS-Nopec Geophysical Company who have already commenced processing of the data prior to its interpretation by Circle.

Block 52, which was awarded to Circle as a nine year exploration licence in 2005, covers an area of over 90,000 square kilometres and extends approximately 150 kilometres offshore. The survey was designed to focus on and further evaluate three different plays which have been identified by the Company’s assessment of historical data from the block.

Data processing is expected to be completed over the coming months. Preliminary onboard processing has already shown the data to be of good quality. Final processing, including modern routine pre-stack procedures, is expected to yield a good quality dataset. Initial interpretation of the data by Circle’s specialist team and its incorporation into the existing dataset is scheduled to start in early summer 2007, following which the next phase of the exploration programme will be confirmed.

      Commenting on today’s announcement, David Hough, Chief Executive of Circle said;

“The successful completion of the Oman Block 52 seismic survey is a significant step forward for Circle. We are now working to finish the processing of the data so that our specialist interpretation team can advance the exploration of this offshore Block and its interesting though untested play concepts.”

      Oman Block 52
An Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and Circle Oil Oman Offshore Ltd for Block 52 was negotiated and signed in September 2005. This agreement calls for the acquisition and analysis of 2D seismic data during the first three years. Two optional extensions, each of three years, will involve further seismic data acquisition as well as drilling campaigns.

The block occupies an area of 90,760 km2 with water depths ranging from 200-3500m. Copies of the 10,540 km of previously acquired 2D seismic have been obtained, along with the associated gravity and magnetic data. Three wells have been drilled prior to the granting of the licence to Circle.

A satellite based seep study was commissioned last year; the results of these studies and our ongoing reinterpretation indicate three different exploration opportunities may exist within the block. Existing gravity, magnetic and seismic data are being interpreted. Circle Oil will carry out a marine seismic survey this Autumn. The Company has already tendered this survey and the contract has been awarded to TSG-Nopec.

      The three play areas are:
      1. an inboard basin, which is southwestern extension of the Masirah Trough, that has seen most of the seismic activity and all off the drilling. The basin appears to be at least Tertiary and possibly older in age; two of the wells confirm that the basement highs have been stripped of pre-Jurrasic sediments, while the third well and the seismic suggest that the potentially prolific Huqf sequence may be preserved off the highs.

      2. a thrusted ophiolite (ocean crust) has been emplaced along part of the shelf and the possibility is good that large structures, again with the Huqf sequence preserved, may be present beneath the ophiolite.
      3. a large, deep Tertiary Basin in the western half of the block.

Circle Oil Farms into Two Concessions in Tunisia

Circle Oil plc (AIM:COP), the international oil and gas exploration and development company, is pleased to announce the signing of agreements with EXXOIL Tunisie allowing Circle Oil to farm-in to two separate concessions in Tunisia. These farm-in agreements are subject to final confirmation and acceptance of transfer of interests by DGE (Direction Générale de l’Energie) Ministère de l’Industrie, de l’Energie et des Petites et Moyennes Entreprise.

The farm-in to the Grombalia Permit in northern Tunisia will give Circle a 36% working interest with the operator EXXOIL Tunisie and ETAP as partners. The work programme includes acquiring a small amount of 2-D seismic in late spring 2007 and the drilling of two mature prospects presently planned for the fourth quarter 2007 and first quarter 2008. The first well is planned to be drilled into a fault block targeting a level that is producing in an adjacent field. The second well is planned to be drilled in very shallow water close to shore. This well will test a larger structure with two way dip and two way fault closure within the same geological sequence that has seen a number of drilling successes within the Permit.

The second farm-in, into the Ras Mamour Permit in southern Tunisia, will give Circle a 23% working interest and will include the drilling of one onshore well. This well is presently scheduled for fourth quarter 2007/early 2008 and will target a geologically similar sequence and structure close to the producing Ezzaouia Field.

These farm-in agreements give Circle Oil the opportunity to participate in drilling wells with short lead times. The maturity of the prospects and the proximity to existing production in geologically related, adjacent and analogous situations were significant factors in Circle Oil’s decision when entering into these agreements. Each of the wells will be drilled with the possibility, if successful, to be put into early production. The initial capital expenditure under the two farm-in agreements will be met out of Circle’s existing working capital resources.

A number of other potentially good prospects have been identified within the two permits which can be considered for future drilling.

Commenting on the signing of these agreements David Hough CEO Circle Oil stated:

“We are delighted to be working in Tunisia and look forward to a long-term relationship with our new partners. It is planned to drill three mature prospects in a proven oil province, two of which are adjacent to existing production and the third is in a geological setting which has seen previous successes. For Circle Oil, these farm-in agreements represent a further step in the company’s evolution towards becoming a balanced exploration and production company.’’

The permit has considerable potential for the exploration and development of more natural gas and exploitation would be by a series of low cost wells/producers each producing from 20-80MM3 of gas. The produced gas will be sold to local industry at locally agreed commercial rates. If successful, the development will allow COML to achieve production in a relatively short time scale and provide a long term continuing earnings contribution to COML.
The agreement is important as it provides COML with a low risk concession with the concomitant potential of low cost fast track development. Previous success rates in the Rharb basin have been in excess of 60%. The area generally has good charge and good natural drive and there are multiple prospects already identified within the permit. These will be fully assessed and ranked by the 3D seismic survey prior to commencing frilling in 2007. Prospects previously developed and ranked by ONHYM will also be included.

During the early Tortonian era series of turbiditic sand lenses were deposited and a subsequent rise in sea level permitted the deposition of a very thick series of marls. Similar events occurred during the Late Tortonian, Messinian and Pliocene.

Exploration within the Rharb has concentrated on the Tertiary depositional system which contains commercial deposits of biogenic gas. These individual prospects are small in size but important and economically interesting. They are shallow and located generally between 500-1500 metres. They are very inexpensive to drill and also hook up due to the presence of a local gas pipeline network. There is also a good market with increasing demand for the sale of the natural gas to local industry.
The Sebou Permit has previously been owned, explored and exploited by ONHYM. In the new partnership the shareholding is COML 75% and ONHYM 25%. The Rharb Basin is highly prospective and has a historic natural gas production of almost one billion MM3. 2D seismic and well calibration is available and ONHYM have extensive knowledge of the area. Small scale Gas production within the Rharb is presently from four wells. COML as operator will be conducting a 3D seismic survey and drilling 6 wells over the next 3 year period.

Circle Oil Maroc Ltd (COML), a wholly owned subsidiary of Circle Oil plc, has signed an Exploration and Exploitation Agreement with ONHYM (Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines) for the Sebou Concession (296 km2), situated in the Rharb Basin, Morocco. The Exploration Agreement is for a total period of 8 years with the right of automatic conversion to a minimum (but extendable) 25 year Exploitation period.

      DRILLING CONTRACT SIGNED IN TUNISIA

Following the announcement on 16 April 2007 that Circle Oil plc had entered into a farm-in agreement with EXXOIL S.A. on two of EXXOIL’s licences in Tunisia, Circle is today pleased to announce that a contract has been signed between EXXOIL, the operator of the exploration programme, and Oil Field Services Company for the drilling of two onshore wells.

The first well is scheduled to spud in July/August on the Zita prospect (Ras Mamour Permit) with spudding of the Serdouk prospect (Grombalia Pemit) planned for before the year end. Oil Field Services will use its Franks Cabot 900 rig to carry out the drilling.

Commenting on this news David Hough, CEO of Circle Oil, said:

“The signing of this contract is an important step forward for Circle as both these Tunisian prospects have the potential to provide Circle with early production and cash flow. The start up of this contract will mark the beginning of Circle’s aggressive 2 year drilling programme whereby at least 9 wells will be drilled on its licences in Tunisia and Morocco.”

      Tunisia: Ras Marmour Permit

This permit is located in the South-East of Tunisia covering part of Djerba Island and south of the Gulf of Gabès. The permit covers 1564 sq km and is located in an area with two significant hydrocarbon discoveries and a number of smaller ones. The onshore Ezzaouia Oil and gas field discovered by MARATHON in 1986, initially produced at over 30 000 BOPD, is presently producing approximately 3000 BOPD. By the end of 2005, the field is believed to have produced around 29 MMBO. The offshore El Biban oil and gas field, also discovered by MARATHON in 1982, produced up to 5 000 BOPD. Reserves are estimated at 7.97 MMBO and has produced since 1998 more than 2.9 MMBO. Discoveries include the Robbana field which was discovered by MARATHON and Mazran field, discovered by HBS which is understood to be under evaluation.
The main reservoir types include fractured dolomites of the Cenomanian Zebbag formation, which form the main reservoir of the Ezzaouia field and fractured limestones of the Bireno formation of Middle to Lower Turonian age, which form the main reservoir of the El Biban field. In addition the Upper Jurassic sands levels of the M'rabtine formation are productive in the Ezzaouia field.

The source rocks in the area are platey black shales of the Lower Cretaceous (Cenomanian-Albian) which has proved the source rock of the Upper and Middle Cretaceous reservoirs of El Biban and Ezzaouia fields respectively and Lower Cretaceous age Sidi Kralif shales formation which form the source of both Robbana and Mazran fields. In addition the Marls and the black clayey limestones of the Middle Jurassic (Dogger) which source the Upper Jurassic sandstone reservoirs (M’rabtine formation) are productive in the Ezzaouia and El Biban fields.

      Tunisia: Grombalia Permit

      The main reservoirs include:
      - the Lower Cretaceous age (M’cherga formation) sandstone reservoir encountered in the Cap Bon gas field. It is represented by two porous sandstone levels (13 to 16 %).
      - the Bou Dabbous formation of Lower Eocene age (Ypresian), which consists of fractured limestone and occurs as good reservoirs in Belli, Al Manzah, Bin Drassen, Meznine and Beni Khalled fields.
      - the Abboid formation of Upper Cretaceous age. This fractured limestone provides the reservoir in Zinnia field (Cap Bon) and in Sidi El Kilani (Kairouan area).

The first two prospects to be drilled by Circle Oil/Exxoil are

      1) a faulted block located close to existing productions: Belli, Beni Khalled and El Manzah fields. The petroleum system in this area has been proven with the Bou Dabbous and / or Bahloul limestones and Fadhene shales as source rock and the fractured Bou Dabbous and Abboid limestones as reservoirs.

      2) a shallow water prospect located just offshore in the Gulf of Tunis in around 15 m of water. The structure is a large anticline elongated north east-south west, and is fault bounded parallel to the coast. The main reservoir objective is the Eocene fractured limestones of the Bou Dabbous formation. This prospect is also located in an ideal position to receive any hydrocarbon generated in the Grombalia graben to the south and west which is considered as the main kitchen in the area.

A number of other good prospects have been identified for future drilling onshore within the permit and include more structures associated with the Abboid and Bou Dabbous formations. These have proven historically to be good for production within structurally controlled faulted closures.

The Grombalia permit is located in the north of Tunisia and covers much of the Cap Bon peninsula. The permit covers 2792 sq km and more than 90% of the permit is located onshore. Oil and gas was first discovered and produced within the Grombalia Permit with the Cap Bon gas field discovered in 1948 by SEREPT. The Belli oil field was discovered by MARATHON in 1991 and produced around 9MMBO. Many other oil and gas fields have been discovered historically including Zinnia by AGIP, Bin Drassen, Beni Khalled and Meznine by EXXOIL, Al Manzah by ECUMED and these have either produced and ceased production or are still in production e.g Beni Khalled (1500BOPD). Two offshore oil field have also been discovered in the Gulf of Hammamet, the Maamoura oil field in 1991 and the Baraka oil field in 1997 (5 000 BOPD under test).

      A Period of Considerable Progress

Circle Oil plc (AIM: COP), the international oil and gas exploration and development company, is pleased to announce its results for the six month period ended 30 June 2007.

      HIGHLIGHTS

      - Negotiated farm-in agreements on two concessions in Tunisia, the Grombalia Permit in north and the Ras Mamour Permit in south of the country.

      - Drilling contract signed on the Zita prospect in the Ras Mamour Permit and drilling commenced.

      - US$30 million unsecured convertible loan agreement signed in June with the Kuwait based company KGL Petroleum and funds received in full in July.

      - Completed shooting and processing of 6,300 km of 2D seismic in Block 52 offshore Oman.

Mr Thomas Anderson, Chairman of Circle Oil, said:

“It has been a very busy period for the Group and the workload is rapidly expanding with the start of drilling in Tunisia and seismic operations in Morocco and I look forward to reporting on the results of these programmes in due course.”

      Notes to Editors

Circle Oil plc (AIM: COP) is an international oil & gas exploration and development company with a growing portfolio of assets in Morocco, Tunisia, Namibia, Oman and Panama. The company listed on AIM in October 2004.

Circle has the largest licence holding of any company in Oman. In addition to Block 52, the company also has an ongoing exploration program in onshore Block 49. Worldwide, the company is active in exploration in the Owambo Basin, Namibia; in the Caribbean Sea, offshore Panama; the Rharb Basin, Morocco; the Ras Mamour Permit in southern Tunisia and Grombalia Permit in northern Tunisia.

The Company's strategy is to locate and secure licences in new hydrocarbon provinces and through targeted investment programmes, monetise the value in those assets for the benefit of shareholders. This could be achieved through farm-outs to selected partners who would then invest in and continue the development of the asset into production, or Circle may itself opt to use its own expertise to appraise reserves and bring assets into production, generating long term cash flow for further investment.

      Chairman’s Statement

I am pleased to report that the period under review has been one of considerable progress and growth for Circle Oil particularly on our later stage exploration projects in Tunisia and Morocco. In addition, the Company has obtained by way of an unsecured convertible loan the finances necessary to fund its present exploration programme for the next 18-24 months and to invest in a number of new later stage exploration projects that are currently under review.

      Operations

In April, Circle announced that it had agreed farm-in terms with EXXOIL, a Tunisian oil exploration and development company, to earn interests in two of EXXOIL’s licences in Tunisia, namely Ras Marmour and Grombalia. The targets to be drilled in both licences are adjacent to existing producing oilfields and the start of drilling of the first well, Zita-1, on the Zita prospect in the Ras Mamour permit, was reported on the 23rd August.

The Zita prospect is 4 km east of the producing Ezzaouia discovery well. This field was first discovered by Marathon in 1986 and production reportedly reached 21,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) for several years. It is now producing approximately 3,000 boepd and has reportedly produced a total of approximately 29 million barrels to the end of 2006. The same potential reservoirs as those of the Ezzaouia oil field are proposed in the Zita prospect with the upper prospective formation having an area of nearly 6 km2 and the lower 8 km2. This gives the Zita prospect a potential of approximately 36 million barrels recoverable out of the two identified prospective horizons. Further news on drilling progress will be announced on completion of the drilling of the well.

Once drilling of the Zita-1 well is finished the rig will move to the Grombalia Licence to drill one of the mature prospects there. The presently chosen Serdouk prospect has a closure area of 5.2 km2 at both prospective levels, the Aboid and Bou Dabbous formations, and operator estimated potential recoverable reserves of 27.5 million barrels. Serdouk is adjacent to the Belli, Beni Khalled and El Manzah producing oil fields.

The Sidi Rais prospect, the presently proposed third well to be drilled, is situated near shore in the Gulf of Tunis, and is one of the most technically interesting and largest prospects in the Grombalia Licence. The initial closure area has the potential for 287 million barrels of oil (mmbo) in place with an operator estimated 60 mmbo recoverable. The prospect is in shallow water (13 metres) and only approximately 1.5 km offshore which would make development costs potentially low compared with a more conventional offshore development.

There are a number of further leads and prospects in both permits and additional drilling is proposed for 2008 following evaluation of this year’s results and the completion of a small amount of 2D seismic early next year.

In Morocco, we have decided to complete a comprehensive seismic study of the Sebou permit in the Rharb area this year. The Environmental Impact Assessment has been completed, and surveying and shothole drilling has commenced in the survey area. We anticipate that shooting of the survey will commence shortly. Originally we had planned to do the seismic over two years with some limited drilling taking place later this year. However, it is now considered more prudent to first complete this seismic survey and the processing and interpretation of its results. This will potentially give Circle a large number of targets which can be properly assessed, ranked and then drilled over the next 3-4 years. We have held discussions with Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM) to use their drill rig for the 2008 drilling season which should result in the drilling of up to eight wells in the area. The successful conclusion to our ongoing discussions with ONHYM will result in the gas discovery made last autumn in the Sebou area, which Circle has the right to acquire, going into production early next year.

In Oman, the final processed results of the offshore seismic survey on Block 52 have been presented to Circle for interpretation and this work is ongoing. The increase in data quality has exceeded our expectations and should allow a comprehensive appreciation of the play concepts and potential of the block to be incorporated into a farm out document which will enable Circle to seek partners for this licence area during 2008.

In Oman Block 49, we have been further encouraged by our own work together with the operations and studies that have been going on around us. There have been third party reports of discoveries and positive technical results in adjacent blocks relating to the salt stringer play. Our own gravity modeling and recent reworking of the existing seismic has given us encouragement and because of this we are hoping to get approval from the Omani Ministry shortly to change the Production Sharing Agreement terms to allow us do a concise 3D seismic study over the southern end of the block. This study, to be carried out in 2008, will enable us to locate and identify potential oil leads and prospects in our licence.

We have been approached by a number of companies who have expressed a wish to examine joint venturing with us in either or both of our Omani licences. The Board will decide over the coming months whether to bring in suitable partners or to carry out the next phase of exploration independently, thereby retaining our 100% interest in the two licences. Either way, it is most encouraging that such companies are approaching us with a view to participating in these areas.

In Namibia, we are currently negotiating with three potential Joint Venture partners on our northern licence and we hope to conclude discussions with one or more of these companies shortly.

      Board and Staff

I am delighted to welcome Rafat Rizvi and Mohammad Sultan to our Board of Directors. Rafat’s background is in the banking sector and Mohammad’s background is oil and gas sector and he is the managing director of KGL Petroleum which provided Circle with US$30 million of new funds following the signing of a convertible loan agreement. Both of these gentlemen bring invaluable experience and contacts to the Board.

In order to cope with the hugely increased workload we are in the process of expanding our technical base located in Berkshire, UK and are seeking to add several new experienced personnel to the team there in the coming months. In Tunisia, we have been very fortunate to have engaged a well respected country manager of the highest calibre in Ali Chine, who was the CAO of the Tunisian state oil company, Enterprise Tunisienne d’Activities Petrolieres (“ETAP”) and latterly advisor to the Tunisian Oil Minister. Ali will be invaluable in assisting Circle to achieve its aspirations in Tunisia, a country which we believe has significant untapped potential for exploration and development. We have also added a highly experienced drilling superintendent, Mimoun Serhir, to our team to manage our future drilling programmes.

      Financial

The Group reported a net loss of US$1.2 million (1H 2006: US$1.9 million) for the period. The reduced loss over the period was largely due to a decrease in the cost of share option awards and lower administration expenses.

The Group remains well funded with cash balances of US$7.3 million at 30 June 2007 which excludes US$30 million proceeds from the convertible loan agreement which were received in July. This loan agreement was signed on 11 June 2007 with Kuwait based KGL Petroleum Company (Kuwait based closed shareholding company) that operates within the energy sector with a primary focus on oil and gas operations and petroleum related products. It has investments in the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as it relates to its oil and gas investments portfolio.

These interim financial statements have been prepared using accounting policies consistent with International Financial Reporting Standards and in accordance with International Accounting Standard (IAS) 34 Interim Financial Reporting.

The interim financial statements in respect of the period ended 30 June 2006 were prepared under Irish GAAP. The comparative figures for the immediately preceding interim period and the immediately preceding financial year have been restated on a basis consistent with International Financial Reporting Standards and in accordance with International Accounting Standard (IAS) 34 Interim Financial Reporting.

The Group has with effect from 1 January 2007 changed its functional and presentation currency from the Euro (€) to the US Dollar (US$).The Group considers that the US$ is now the currency of the primary economic environment in which it operates. The Board believe that by adopting the US$ as its functional and presentation currency, the financial statements will provide a clearer picture of the performance of the Group’s business and will minimise the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on the reported results.

      Conclusion

It has been a very busy period for the Group and the workload is rapidly expanding with the start of drilling in Tunisia and seismic operations in Morocco and I look forward to reporting on the results of these programmes in due course.

I would like to thank all our shareholders, my fellow directors and Circle employees for their contribution over this period. I look forward to their continuing support and success through their efforts in the years ahead.

Drilling operations commenced on the 20th August 2007 and are anticipated to continue for the next two months.

The well is targeting the two main reservoir types in the area which include the fractured dolomites of the Cenomanian Zebbag formation, which form the main reservoir of the nearby Ezzaouia oilfield and the Upper Jurassic sands levels of the M'rabtine formation which are also productive in the Ezzaouia field.

Further announcements will be made in due course.

Commenting on the start of drilling operations David Hough, CEO, Circle Oil said:

“Today marks the start of an 18 month series of field based operations for Circle in North Africa and the Middle East. Over the next few months, we plan to drill 3 wells in Tunisia and begin 3D seismic studies on our Moroccan Rharb Basin licence. In addition, a very busy work schedule is currently being prepared for Tunisia, Morocco and Oman for 2008 which will drive the next phase of Circle’s evolution and progression towards becoming a balanced exploration and production company.”

COMPLETION OF DRILLING AND LOGGING ON ZITA-1 WELL

Circle Oil plc (AIM:COP), the international oil and gas exploration and development company, is pleased to announce the completion of drilling and logging of the Zita-1 exploration well on the Zita Prospect in the Ras Mamour Permit, southern Tunisia (23% working interest). The well has encountered hydrocarbon shows with good fluorescence seen in cuttings in multiple zones and oil returning to the surface. The initial log interpretation has given sufficient evidence to warrant full testing which is scheduled to take place before the end of this year. Until testing is completed no final conclusions can be drawn on the results of the well. A further news release will be issued once testing and the analysis and interpretation of the results is completed.

Commenting David Hough, CEO of Circle Oil, said:

"We are encouraged by the initial results of the Zita-1 well. Although the well has been difficult to drill, we have encountered shows of hydrocarbons at multiple levels. The log data is now being analysed to finalise the testing programme. If testing and evaluation are successful we hope that this would be followed by an early appraisal well programme.”

      Zita-1 Well Test

      Grombalia Permit Prospect, Tunisia Agreed

Circle Oil the international oil and gas exploration and development company, is pleased to announce that testing and analysis of the Zita-1 exploration well in the Ras Marmour permit in Tunisia (23% working interest) has been completed.

      Zita-1, Ras Marmour Permit

The testing of the dolomitic Zebbag formation from 1150m to 1163m and the Orbata dolomitic formation from 1357m to 1380m proved formation water similar to the adjacent Ezzouia field with oil shows but did not result in a flow of commercial mobile oil. Subsequent analysis of all data has suggested that the testing sampled the Zebbag formation just below the oil water contact.

Following a review of the seismic and well data by all partners and their advisors, all partners have agreed to drill a curved sidetrack from the Zita-1 well to target the Zebbag formation updip, thus drilling the maximum thickness of the Zebbag and Orbata formation within the top crestal closure of the formation. The sidetrack will commence in approximately 3-4 weeks time on arrival of directional drilling equipment and engineers from Schlumberger who will carry out the work. Upon completion, logs and testing will be run as necessary.

      Grombalia Permit

In a separate meeting Partners have approved the final location for the first well to be drilled in the Grombalia permit in northern Tunisia (36% working interest) together with its Environmental Impact Assessment and land approvals.

Following completion of an upgraded interpretation using the 2007 seismic results, a new location with lower risk analysis and larger closure area has been prioritised. This new prospect, named Mellah, will be drilled before the originally intended location at Serdouk. The well will target the same formations as those at Serdouk and the Serdouk well has been rescheduled for drilling at a later date. The new interpretation has also firmed up a third prospect for future drilling. The civil preparation works for the well will commence next week and the well spud for Mellah will follow the completion of the Zita sidetrack, presently estimated as being towards the end of the 1st quarter 2008.

Commenting on the results David Hough CEO Circle Oil said:

"It is disappointing that Zita-1 did not flow commercial mobile oil due to the high water saturations. However, it is encouraging that consensus on the analysis of all the data retrieved from the seismic, drilling and logging puts us at or around the oil-water contact. We will now sidetrack updip to drill the whole Zebbag and Orbata formation as soon as the specialist directional drilling equipment and engineers arrive from Schlumberger.

“We are pleased that our partners have approved Mellah in the Grombalia Permit as the next well location and, with the civil works starting immediately, the site will be ready for the rig to relocate to once the Zita-1 sidetrack is complete.”

In accordance with the guidelines of the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange, Prof Chris Green (B.Sc.Hons. M.SC., PhD.),Technical Director Circle Oil Plc, who has been involved in the oil industry for over 34 years, and Mr Ali Chine, Country Manager Circle Oil Tunisa Ltd who have been involved in the industry for over 35 years are the qualified persons that have reviewed the technical information contained in this press release.

      EGYPTIAN FARM-IN

Circle Oil the oil and gas exploration and development group, is today pleased to announce that Circle Oil Egypt Ltd (COEL), its wholly owned subsidiary, has signed a farm-in agreement covering the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons with Vegas Oil and Gas SA for the NW Gemsa Block in Egypt.

The agreement, which is subject to ratification by Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and the Minister of Petroleum, will result in Circle Oil holding a 40% interest in the concession. Vegas Oil and Gas is operator with a 50% interest and Premier Oil plc 10%.

The NW Gemsa concession, which covers an area of over 400 square kilometers lies about 300 kilometers southeast of Cairo in a partially unexplored part of the Gulf of Suez Basin. It includes the Al Amir-1 well which discovered oil in April 2005. This well flowed 787 barrels of oil per day on test.

The concession agreement has recently entered its second phase of three and is valid for a further two and a half years. It has the right of conversion to a production licence of 20 years, plus extensions, in the event of commercial discoveries.

As part of the agreement Circle will contribute towards the cost of the Amir SE-1 exploration well which will target the Nubia Sandstone at a depth of 12,870 feet. The Nubia Sandstone is a well known producer within the Gulf of Suez Basin and in the area of the proposed Amir SE-1 exploration well, it is approximately 1200 feet thick. The drilling rig contract is due to be concluded shortly and the well is scheduled to commence drilling in early February 2008. The structure is a partial dip and fault closure and has an operator estimated potential of 100MMBO in situ based on the present outlined closure area.

Commenting on the farm-in agreement David Hough, CEO, Circle Oil plc said:

"This is another exciting farm-in for Circle Oil bringing with it the opportunity to develop a lasting relationship with a progressive Egyptian Oil Company. If successful, it will allow fast track appraisal and development of the field into an existing infrastructure. This is in line with our stated strategy which we are pursuing vigourously in order to further enhance Circle's position."

The aerogravity/magnetic acquisition programme has been completed by Fugro and data analysis during 2007 including gravity/magnetic modelling has given further positive evidence of the presence of the Ghudun Salt Basin. An Environmental Impact Assessment has also been completed in 2007 as a precursor to planning new seismic acquisition aimed at imaging prospective targets in the southern half of the block especially within any Salt Basin.

A satellite based seep study was commissioned in 2006; the results of these studies and our ongoing reinterpretation utilising both historic and new data indicates three different exploration opportunities may exist within the block. Existing gravity and magnetic data has also been interpreted. In 2007 a comprehensive regional 2D survey was completed for Circle by TGS-NOPEC. This data has been processed and the data is now being interpreted inhouse to produce a full report utilizing both both the historic and new datasets.

      Oil Exploration Booms

Oil exploration in the Sultanate of Oman has shifted into high gear, following the recent signing of exploration and production sharing agreements with a large number of international oil & gas firms. The entire Sultanate is now subject to some form of exploration activity, apart from two remaining blocks.

Extensive efforts to boost oil production are also underway, with the implementation of various enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques in many mature fields including Mukhaizna and Harweel. To enable it to focus on its portfolio of large fields, which account for over 80% of Oman's total oil production, Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has recently signed agreements with other companies for the development of its clusters of small fields.

Oman Block 49 First Extension Granted

Circle Oil plc (AIM:COP), the international oil and gas exploration and development company, is pleased to announce the granting of permission for the first extension period for its Block 49 permit in the Sultanate of Oman commencing July 1st 2008.

Circle has completed extensive reprocessing and interpretation of pre-existing seismic and gravity/magnetics data from the Block. The seismic and old well data have also been used as an aid to complete detailed 3D gravity modeling for the permit. The combination of the data sets has provided further evidence supporting our geological model which indicates the existence of a substantial salt basin in the southern half of Block 49. Stratigraphy and geological depositional history appear to be analogous to the South Oman Salt Basin.

In order to image any potential structures within the proposed salt basin and its flanks, Circle sought and has been granted permission to merge the two 2D seismic acquisitions for the original and first extension period into one larger 3D seismic acquisition. The acquisition of a closely sampled 3D seismic survey will allow imaging of any structures, such as salt stringers within the postulated salt basin. Historically it has been shown that these are not adequately imaged by 2D datasets. Imaging of the flanks of the basin is particularly important as these have also historically been shown to be important areas for hydrocarbon trapping.

The 3D survey will cover an area of approximately 900 square kilometers and subsequent processing and analysis will result in the development of any prospects for early drilling.

Commenting on the results David Hough, CEO of Circle Oil, said:

"The granting of this permission by the Omani Oil & Gas Ministry and movement to the first extension period is a major step in preparing the block for intensive seismic surveying and subsequent drilling. The work completed recently by our technical staff has further enhanced our belief in the prospectivity of the southern half of the permit. Neighboring wells continue to make substantial discoveries in analogous geological situations and we are very encouraged by these results. I would like to thank the Omani Ministry of Oil & Gas for their interest and support for our work and play concept, and for granting the extension to enable us to pursue this exciting area."

      Mahdia Permit, Tunisia

Circle Oil plc (AIM:COP), the international oil and gas exploration and development company, is pleased to announce the signing of a farm-in agreement to the Mahdia Permit offshore Tunisia with Tethys Oil and Mining Ltd. The Mahdia permit covers an area of 3780 square kilometres and is bounded by the Nabeul Permit to the north and the territorial boundary with theislandofLampedusa(Italy) to the east. Historically the geology and potential of this and the surrounding offshore area was successfully explored by Shell and Total and previous exploration has resulted in discoveries and commercial oilfields including fields such as Tazerka, Birsa, Oudna, Halk El Menzel and Isis.

Following the farm-in, Circle will hold a 70% working interest in the permit. Circle will become operator once the acquisition of 500 kilometres of additional 2D marine seismic is complete, prior to the commencement of any drilling in the permit. The permit commitments require the acquisition of 500 kilometres of 2D seismic in the first two years of the licence which commenced July 2007 and the drilling of one commitment well in the subsequent three years to 2012. The permit contains multiple undrilled prospects which have already been mapped from the existing datasets. The additional seismic will be used to enhance ranking and prioritization of these prospects prior to drilling.

Commenting on the results David Hough, CEO of Circle Oil, said:

"We are particularly pleased to be able to announce this farm-in offshore Tunisia. The acreage is well known to two of our senior management who worked this geology in their earlier careers. Many of the main undrilled prospects in Mahdia are already mapped and this play has proven success. These prospects remained undrilled due to their size and historic lower oil prices, but they are now very commercial. With good potential reserves they are now definitely worth pursuing. The farm-in further enhances our position in Tunisia and the region generally. We are pleased to be a part of the effort to establish Tunisia as a substantial oil producer."

Circle Oil rose ¼p to 29¼p, after taking a 70 per cent stake in a licence offshore Tunisia. The area was previously successfully explored by Shell and Total but left undrilled because of its size and lower prices. With reserves estimated at about 50 million barrels, and oil at record highs, it could be material for Circle.

The Serdouk exploration well has been completed and logged to the targets in the Bou Dabbous and Abiod formations with a target depth of 1620 metres. The well confirmed the prospect stratigraphy and structure but no oil shows were encountered. Logging and sampling indicates a lack of permeability leaving the formations "tight". The well has been plugged and abandoned.

      Circle Oil boosts reserves

Last year marked a turning point for Circle Oil - that's when then it turned from being a pure exploration play into a producer of both oil and gas. Indeed, for much of its history the group has slipped under most investors' radars. But its success rate at finding commercially viable oil and gas deposits really began attracting attention last September when a £33m fund raising prompted Libya Oil Holdings to take a 28.7 per cent stake.

      Our view: Buy

      Share price: 32.75p (-0.75p)

Just over a year ago, a barrel of oil, should you wish to have bought one, would have cost you $147.

At around that point it probably was not the dumbest punt to put money into the oil companies. The producers were clearly raking it in, and even investors in the smaller exploration groups could expect a fantastic payday if their bet found some black stuff.

      1. Juli 2010, Oilbarrel.com

Broker Fox- Davies Capital Says Circle Oil Is Very Undervalued As It Ramps Up Oil and Gas Output Onshore North Africa

AIM-Listed Circle says in its preliminary results for the year ended December 31 2009 that it has delivered on its promise that it would get oil production started and ramp up gas production during the year.
And so it has. Two years ago, the Ireland based Circle was a greenfield explorer with frontier acreage in Oman and Nambia and big hopes but long odds that it would get into production in a reasonable time frame. It switched tack and balanced its portfolio with low risk assets largely onshore North Africa; in Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco. While Tunisia has disappointed thus far, Morocco and Egypt have come good with oil output starting in Egypt and gas production growing in Morocco.

In Morocco the six well campaign was finished in mid-2009 with the drilling resulting in five tested commercial discoveries and a sixth well, DRJ-6, with a four metre gas sand that will be flow tested in the 2010 drilling campaign.

On the production front, ONZ-4 continued in production throughout 2009 and was joined by well ONZ-6 which is also now in production. Produced gas is now being sold under contract to the CMCP paper mill in Kenitra. Negotiations are close to finalisation with a second large gas user in the area and the company expects to be selling gas to other users as soon as the new trunkline is commissioned at year end or early 2011. This should see gas supply increasing from today’s levels of 1.5-2 million standard cubic feet a day (mmscf/d) to 7-8 mmscf/d in 2011 and then upwards to the anticipated 16-17 mmscf/d..

In Egypt, Circle has continued to enjoy what it describes as tremendous success on the NW Gemsa Concession since it first farmed- in in January 2008 and made its first discovery in October 2008 of the Al Amir SE-1 ST well. Since then the company has drilled a total of eight wells in Egypt, seven of which have proved to be commercial. The concession is producing close to 10,000 barrels of oil per day.

Analysts at broker Fox-Davies Capital, who have been monitoring Circle closely reckon the company has not just proved its point that it achieved output from Egypt and Morocco that can for the first time be included in the accounts, it has comfortably exceeded expectations.

F-D Capital says revenues reached US$15.1 million versus the broker’s forecast of US$10 million, whereas the cash balance at end December 2009 was US$ 22 million versus its forecast of US$ 18.9 million. The reported after tax loss of US$13.5 million was larger than the previous last year but it is distorted by a large negative non-cash item of US$ 10.2 million resulting from an impairment on the fair value of the conversion option on the convertible linked to the increase of the share price in the past 12 months, as well as an exploration write-off of US$ 4.6 million on the Ovambo Basin Licence in Namibia. Recovery of that amount is dependent on the closure of the farm-out agreement with Petroholland.

The reported cash flow from operations improved from a loss of US$3.7 million to a small loss of US$0.8 million. The company has also provided estimates of recoverable resources.

F-D Capital says that in Morocco a recent third party report estimated ultimate recoverable resources of 16.2 bcf, an estimate which excludes the resources from the ONZ production and untested well DRJ-6. the inclusion of the ONZ-4 and ONZ-6 wells raises Moroccan ultimate recoverable resources to 17.5 bcf. However, so far only six out of a large number of identified targets have been drilled and the company believes that the recoverable resources potential is over 200 bcf. This is supported by the recent award of the Lalla Mimouna permit that has increased the acreage by about 8-fold compared to the original Sebou Permit. F-D says it valuation of the Moroccan assets is based on gross recoverable resources of about 170 bcf.

In Egypt, the operator and Circle Oil estimate potential total recoverable gross oil of 43 million barrels (mmbbl). They can be compared with the independent third party report which indicates ultimate recoverable resources under natural depletion (no injection support) of 20.2 mmbbl. Taking the independent third party resource values and assuming injection support, this equates to secondary recoverable resources totalling 37.2 bcf. These compare with the gross recoverable resources estimate 60 mmbbl that F-D Capital uses in its valuation of the Egyptian assets.

The broker’s analysts say they do not feel the need to change its resources estimates. In Morocco its estimate is close to the company’s estimate of exploration potential, while in Egypt the estimate is slightly higher and accounts for its belief that the Al Amir SE field will continue to exceed expectations.

Overall, these results are in-line or better than its forecast the broker says, which in a production ramping can be due to timing differences and does not necessarily change the end point. F-D Capital does not take into account any upside in the Oman, Namibia and Tunisia assets in this current note on Circle

During the rest of 2010 Circle intends to continue with its exploration and production programmes. There will be continued drilling in Egypt through additional appraisal wells and the commencement of injector support drilling In Morocco, the company will start another six well programme (five plus DRJ-6 testing) and lay a new trunk line to Kenitra to permit increased production. The company continues to seek out new projects to increase its production base by acquiring development, redevelopment projects or producing assets.

Given all this F-D Capital says it does not feel the urge to alter its target price at this stage. It is confident that the stock is very undervalued. It maintains its buy rating and target price of 0.90p against a current price of 0.33p, a market cap of £134.5 million and enterprise value (EV) of £134.5 million.

Man muss sich nur mal anschauen, wo überall für mehr Freiheit und Wohlstand demonstriert wird...und überall hat Circle Oil fast seine Finger drin in den Ländern.
