Solarworld) und Zellen (u.a. Motech) verarbeiten lassen.

CSI ist profitabel und für einen Solarwert nach dem IPO mit einem vglw. günstigen KBV ausgestattet.

      Gibt es Meinungen?

Canadian Solar Reports Second Quarter 2007 Results
Tuesday August 14, 7:00 am ET
-- Q2 net revenues of $60.4 million, a three-fold increase from $17.5 million in Q1 -- Q2 loss of $0.11 per share compared to a loss of $0.14 per share in Q1 -- Full year 2007 net revenue guidance increased to $255-$265 million from $220-$230 million

JIANGSU, China, Aug. 14 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Canadian Solar Inc. ("the Company," "CSI," or "we") (Nasdaq: CSIQ - News) today reported its preliminary unaudited US GAAP financial information for the second quarter of 2007 ended June 30, 2007.

Net revenues for the quarter were $60.4 million, including $2.7 million silicon material sales, compared to net revenues of $17.3 million for the second quarter of 2006 and $17.5 million for the first quarter of 2007. Net revenues for the first quarter of 2007 included $2.8 million in silicon material sales. Net loss for the quarter was $2.9 million, or $0.11 per share, compared to net income of $2.5 million, or $0.16 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2006 and net loss of $3.9 million, or $0.14 per share, for the first quarter of 2007. Excluding share-based compensation expenses of $2.4 million, the net loss for the quarter would have been $0.5 million, or $0.02 per share.

Dr. Shawn Qu, Chairman and CEO of CSI, commented: "Our Q2 revenues were at the high end of our guidance range. We continue to benefit from our strong international sales and marketing network and our focus on tier one distributors and project-based companies. During the quarter, we saw sustained demand for our products in Germany and Spain. We expect to complete our Phase One in-house solar cell production facility in the middle of October, which would bring our total cell capacity to 100MW per year. We have recently ramped up our module production capacity to 180MW per year. These successful steps in our expansion strategy will help to solidify our position as a major player in the industry and enable us to meet increased customer demand."

Bing Zhu, CFO of CSI, noted: "Our gross margins improved slightly in Q2 due to our increasing in-house solar cell manufacturing capability. We would have been profitable on a cash operating basis during the quarter without the following two factors: first, we cleared out 1.63MW of high-priced solar cells inventory purchased in 2006 and secondly, we incurred slightly higher yield loss, as we almost quadrupled our production within one quarter. Entering the third quarter, we are experiencing stable module pricing and expect this to continue during the second half of 2007. We have also experienced modest materials price increases from certain suppliers. We are working on improving our cost structure and operating efficiencies to offset these increases and expect our operating margins to improve significantly in Q4 as we speed up our in-house solar cell manufacturing production."

      Recent Developments

We recently started to ramp up production at our second 25MW solar cell production line, following installation and acceptance tests in June and July. We expect to install our third and fourth 25MW cell production lines in September and October 2007, ahead of our original schedule. By doing so, we expect to increase our in-house solar cell manufacturing capacity to 100 MW by the middle of Q4.

We also recently entered into agreements for syndicated loans of US$50 million with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and China Communications Bank. Both banks announced their intention to continue to support our newly revised three-year growth plan. Together with other existing banking arrangements, CSI has approximately US$90 million in available credit lines.

and $2.8 million silicon materials sales in Q107.

      Outlook

Based on current market conditions, our order backlog and our production capacity, we are increasing our prior guidance of net revenues for the full year 2007 to $255-$265 million from $220-$230 million. Shipments for the year are expected to be 70-75MW, compared to our original estimate of 64MW. Based on indications from our key customers, the Company estimates that the demand for CSI module products in 2008 is now over 200MW.

Net revenues for the third quarter of 2007 are expected to be $80-$85 million, with cash operating income, determined on a non-GAAP basis by excluding share based compensation, in the range of $1.6-$2.0 million. Shipments for the third quarter of 2007 are expected to be 20-23 MW. In the third quarter, our current customer backlog orders are enabling us to better utilize our existing inventory of all cell grades, which will help us increase our product efficiency and improve our profit margins on the module sales.

Canadian Solar Receives QC 080000 Hazardous Materials Management Certification
Monday August 20, 8:00 am ET

JIANGSU, China, Aug. 20 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Canadian Solar Inc. ("the Company", or "CSI", or "we") (Nasdaq: CSIQ - News) today announced that its Changshu factory has completed its audit for the QC 080000 IECQ Hazardous Substance Process Management (HSPM) qualification, which the Company believes makes it one of the first solar module manufacturing companies to receive the certification.

QC 080000 IECQ HSPM is the international technical specification for an organization's processes to manage and minimize, or eliminate hazardous substances. The qualification confirms that CSI has a process-oriented quality management system (QMS) in place, compliant with ISO 9001:2000. The distinguished qualification carries with it the potential for reduced testing and supplier management costs, and the reduced risk of violating laws in a changing regulatory landscape.

The audit was conducted by the internationally recognized certification body TUV, a leading international safety testing and certification services company.

Meanwhile, CSI's newly built solar cell factory in Suzhou and its recently built module factory in Luoyang has passed ISO 9001:2000 certification audits by TUV last week. As a result, all of CSI production facilities are now certified to ISO 9001:2000 standard.

Dr. Shawn Qu, Chairman and CEO of CSI, said, "The qualification demonstrates CSI's high standard and industry leadership on product safety. It also demonstrates our technical competence and operational skill with regards to the ability to manufacture high quality products, while maintaining our devotion to environmentally friendly manufacturing processes. We are fully prepared to move into lead-free module production if required to by regulatory bodies, which further highlights the ability of CSI's management team to respond to changes in the regulatory landscape for renewable energy. This recognition of our operational efficiency and integrity will further bolster our global reputation, and will help raise our profile with potential new customers."

Canadian Solar Signs Agreement to Build 300KW 'Suzhou Solar Demonstration Park'

JIANGSU, China, Sept. 24 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Canadian Solar Inc. (Nachrichten) ("the Company,' 'CSI,' or 'we') today announced that it has signed an agreement with the government of Suzhou New District to build the 'Suzhou Solar Demonstration Park,' a project that converts a deserted area into a municipality recreation site featuring a 300KW grid-connected solar power system. The park will also serve as a long-term outdoor reliability testing and demonstration ground for CSI modules using various new technologies.

This is one of the first solar power plant projects initiated after China adopted its Renewable Energy Law in January 2006. The Renewable Energy Law makes it mandatory for the State Electric Grid to connect to solar power and pay favorable feed-in tariffs. The execution procedure, however, is yet to be released. In August 2007, China's National Development&Reform Commission (NDRC) also published its national development strategy for renewable energy. According to this strategy, China targets to install 300 MW cumulative solar generation capacity by 2010 and 1.8 GW by 2020.

Dr. Shawn Qu, Chairman and CEO of Canadian Solar Inc. commented: 'We are very pleased to be selected to work together with the government of Suzhou New High-tech Development District (SND) to build this demo solar project. Solar power is quickly gaining recognition among policy makers in China. This site will become a live 'Showroom' to demonstrate to our customers the reliability and the superior engineering work competence of CSI products. This demo project will serve as a concrete example for government officials in other provinces and municipalities in their efforts to fulfill the targeted solar power capacity set by the NDRC. With China on its way towards a major solar market, this project will help us to gain first-mover advantage in this high- potential region.'

The solar park, one of the largest photovoltaic plants in Spain, is expected to supply enough energy for 1,500 families.

CSI is the sole supplier of the solar modules in this project, which consists of almost 18,000 CS5A solar panels, mounted on a fixed structure and connected to 100 kW inverters. Linda Goossens, General Manager for Ra Solar Espana commented: ''CSI has been a reliable partner, especially with regards to delivery times and after sales services, which are crucial elements in projects of this size. At the same time, we are very pleased with the high quality of CSI modules. We have already placed further orders for CSI's solar modules for our future projects and look forward to working closely with CSI in future.''

Dr. Shawn Qu, Chairman and CEO of Canadian Solar Inc. commented: ''We are very pleased to be able to work together with Ra Solar on this important project.
