$70 Million Cash Settlement


SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Spansion Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSN), the world's largest pure-play provider of Flash memory solutions, today announced that it has settled its patent litigation lawsuits with Samsung Electronics. As part of the settlement, Samsung will pay Spansion $70 million and Spansion and Samsung Electronics Company have exchanged rights in their patent portfolios in the form of licenses and covenants subject to a confidential settlement agreement. The settlement ends the patent disputes between the two companies and is a significant step forward in Spansion's reorganization process, demonstrating the company's intense focus on improving its financial position in the current economic climate.

Flash memory, which retains data in devices when the power is turned off, is found in virtually all electronic devices, forms the foundation of the world's mp3 players, cell phones, digital cameras and other consumer electronic devices and is one of the largest segments of the semiconductor industry, with over $130 billion in total revenues since 2000, according to data from Worldwide Semiconductor Trade Statistics, Inc.


Due to Spansion's recent Chapter 11 filing, the agreement is subject to approval by the bankruptcy court. The agreement is contingent upon the dismissal of the claims and the satisfaction of certain conditions including bankruptcy court approval.


In November 2008, Spansion filed two separate patent infringement complaints against Samsung with the International Trade Commission and in the U.S. District Court in Delaware. As part of the complaints, Spansion was seeking the exclusion from the U.S. market of mp3 players, cell phones, digital cameras and other consumer electronic devices containing Samsung's flash memory components. The complaint in the U.S. District Court in Delaware also sought an injunction and treble damages based on Samsung's sale of flash memory. Samsung counterclaimed in the District Court against Spansion for infringement of its own patents seeking damages and an injunction. On January 28, 2009, Samsung filed a patent infringement complaint in Japan against Spansion Japan Limited seeking both injunctive relief and damages for based upon Japanese patents owned by Samsung. Each of these actions is to be dismissed pursuant to the settlement agreement with neither side admitting liability.

This is chpt 11, not chpt 7. There is no liquidation of assets and shares erased. Chpt 11 only provides more time pay off debtors and convenants. The extra 70MM makes this even more of a worthy takeover given their win on their intellectual property.

This stock is gonna rocket next week. I will be absolutely dumbfounded it this stocks even peeks at the teens next week.

The actual book value of Spansion is $8.95. Obviously their recent court win and its implications give them more clout in the negotiations department.

They should effortlessly net $1.50 in a buy out, but considering their book value is $8.95, I think they could squeeze more out of the deal.

Quick math tells me that with a $450 million kitty, Micron could buy Spansion for $2.5 per share and still have about $47 million left over.

Heck Spsn was trading at $3 per share back in July of 08. Buying this puppy is a no brainer

If SPSN makes 2 billion a year...and was to be bought out...usually
when a company is bought out they pay more than they make annually...I
know that SPSN has debt, so let's just go with this.

If they were bought out for 2 billion that puts their share price at
12.5 usd

If they were bought out for a quarter of that, 500 million - that puts
their share price at 3.00+ usd.

Are my calculations completely idiotic...? I'm trying to decide
whether to hold or sell..and why the share price is so low. Not
looking for advice but rather thought and input on this. Im a novice
at this, heh...thanks!

Ich weiss nicht ob Spansion aus eigener Kraft überleben könnte.
Eine Uebernahme durch einen Global Player wie Mikron oder Samsung,Toshiba wäre sinnvoll.Und natürlich das wir Altaktionäre
nicht leer ausgehen.Am besten wäre,wenn die Chipverkäufe und Preise
wieder anziehen könnten.

Apple bestellt NAND-Flashspeicher im großen Stil

TAIPEI - Der US-Computerhersteller Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL, WKN: 865985) soll nach einem Bericht des Branchendienstes DigiTimes Bestellungen im Volumen von 100 Mio. US-Dollar für 8GB NAND-Flashspeicherchips beim südkoreanischen Hersteller Samsung Electronics in Auftrag gegeben und dadurch einen Liefengpass mit verursacht haben.

Der Lieferengpass soll aber nicht nur allein auf die Bestellungen von Apple zurückzuführen sein. Auch der finnische Mobilfunkspezialist Nokia sowie Sony sollen jüngst damit begonnen haben, ihre Lagerbestände an NAND-Flashspeicher wieder zu füllen. Die Engpässe im Bezug auf NAND-Flashspeicher werden voraussichtlich bis Ende Mai bestehen bleiben, heißt es aus der Branche.

Entsprechend gestiegen sind dann auch die Preise für Flashspeicher im April. Laut DRAMeXchange zogen die Kontraktpreise für MLC NAND-Flashspeicherchips allein in der ersten Aprilhälfte um 16 Prozent an. Dies dürfte insbesondere die angeschlagenen DRAM- und Flashspeicherhersteller wie Micron Technology freuen. Im Zuge des Preisverfalls in den vergangenen Quartalen schrieben die Hersteller hohe Verluste, was letztendlich zur Insolvenz des deutschen DRAM-Spezialisten Qimonda geführt hat.

Der Grund für den Ansturm auf Flashspeicher bei Apple dürfte das bevorstehende Markdebüt des iPhones 3G in China sein. Apple befindet sich derzeit in Verhandlungen mit der chinesischen China Unicom über eine Markteinführung in China. Nach chinesischen Medienberichten zufolge könnte das Marktdebüt des iPhones in China frühestens im Mai erfolgen. (ami)

Spansion Mania Continues, For No Obvious Reason

Trading in Spansion (SPSN) shares continues to defy all logic.

The NOR Flash memory chip company, which a month ago filed chapter 11, has put itself up for sale. As I noted yesterday, some people seem to be betting that the company is going to have cash left over for its holders after paying off its long-term debt, which as of the end of September stood at just under $1.3 billion.

Spansion a few weeks ago said that it expects to report sales of $468 million for the December quarter, and $400 million for the March quarter; Spansion remains one of the leading NOR manufacturers, along with Samsung and the Intel/STMicro/Francisco Partners joint venture called Numonyx. But whether someone will buy the company - and if so for what price - remains unknown.

Yesterday, the company declined to comment on the activity in its stock.

SPSN, which yesterday soared 160% to 13 cents, from 5 cents, today is up another 2.53 cents, or 19.5%, to 15.5 cents. In short, the stock has more tripled since Monday’s close.

I value the stock at ~$3.86 per share. I come at my value this way.

$1.5 billion in debt minus a $2 billion estimated sales price -10% in cost of sale and bankruptcy costs leaves $300 million in shareholder equity divided by 162 million shares outstanding = $3.86.

The $2 billion sales price is a WAC I will grant you. I believe from talking to friends who work at SPSN in the FAB, there are at least 3 possible buyers, which is what their superiors are telling them.

Micron To Benefit from Stock-Convert Offering

What might Micron Technology (MU) do with its cash after the company yesterday announced a shelf filing for $200 million in convertible debt and $250 million in common stock? Step up manufacturing or buy struggling memory makers, those are two ideas that jump to mind this morning.

Daniel Berenbaum with Auriga is puzzled, writing in a note this morning that Micron’s track record has been to raise money right when the DRAM industry is hitting a peak and about to decline, but that the DRAM industry actually appears to be on an upswing. “On the contrary … DRAM pricing is more likely to move up than down…” At any rate, he thinks an “intelligent” use of the proceeds of Micron’s offering could give the company an ability to move more rapidly into 34 nanometer production of NAND flash chips and 43 nanometer production of DRAM, which, he thinks would make things tougher for Micron’s competitors Hynix and Elpida.

Broadpoint/Amtech analyst Dinesh Moorjani also thinks the money could be well spent to give Micron a competitive advantage, writing this morning that the offering “would provide Micron with the flexibility to take advantage of potential near-term opportunities to acquire attractively valued distressed memory assets and/or participate in M&A opportunities.” Targets, he writes, could include Qimonda (QMNDQ), Spansion (SPSN), or Taiwan’s ProMOS Technologies. Like Berenbaum, he thinks the money will help the company be competitive in the cost of its chips “staying on course with process migrations in FY10.”

Micron shares today are down 12 cents, or 2.8%, at $4.19.

amdApplied Micro Devices became the latest victim of the bankruptcy of Spansion, a company it helped bring into being in a joint venture with Fujitsu that eventually was spun out into a separate public company.

As part of its reorganization, Spansion filed a motion in which it indicated that it does not intend to “perform its obligations under its sublease agreement” with AMD over space it subleases to the troubled flash memory maker that axed 3,000 workers in February before filing for bankruptcy.

In an SEC filing yesterday, AMD estimated it will take a charge of $5 million in its current quarter related to its once-prized, now-deadbeat offspring decision to stop paying rent.

aehr-logoAlso warning of Spansion-related losses Thursday was Aehr Test Systems, which said that it would be recording about $25.3 million in charges for its fiscal 2009 third quarter related to the bankruptcy filing by the Fremont chip-equipment company’s best customer, including $13.7 million for bad debt and $5.7 million for excess and obsolete inventory.

Last week South Korean conglomerate Samsung agreed to pay $70 million to bankrupt flash memory maker Spansion to settle a series of patent suits between the two companies.

The cases were filed by Spansion in November and concerned patents for technologies that use flash memory, which is used in portable devices like cell phones, digital cameras and MP3 players. The complaints covered four patents before the International Trade Commission and six patents in U.S. district court in Delaware.

Spansion's lead IP counsel, Ethan Horwitz from King & Spalding's New York office, says the settlement ends the ITC and Delaware actions. Another pending action by Samsung against Spansion in Japan also will be settled as part of the package, as will counterclaims against Spansion filed by Samsung in Delaware.

As part of the agreement, Horwitz says Samsung and Spansion will exchange rights to their respective patent portfolios. Spansion will give Samsung a license to its flash memory portfolio, and Samsung will grant Spansion a similar license to its semiconductor portfolio.

The twist in this IP litigation is that it played out in bankruptcy court in Delaware, where Spansion sought Chapter 11 protection from creditors in early March. Court records show that Spansion felt the decision to settle the case was prudent, given that litigation costs could average $15 million a year for the next three to five years.

When we initially glanced at the settlement agreement that Spansion filed with the bankruptcy court, we nearly fell out of our chairs when we saw that King & Spalding was going to receive $40 million via wire transfer as part of Samsung's initial payment towards the settlement. Not bad for four months of litigation. (The remaining balance will be paid in $5 million increments over the next six months.)

Alas, the firm will be holding Samsung's initial payment in escrow.

"I wish [our fee] was [near $40 million]," says Horwitz, laughing. "But it's nothing close -- this was not a contingency case."

Horwitz demurred when we asked him what the firm's fee was outright.

But according to a disinterestedness motion filed by Horwitz last week, Spansion owed the firm more than $2.2 million for litigation services rendered prior to the company's bankruptcy filing on March 1.

Since that time, Horwitz tells us that K&S has accrued more fees and expenses that it will withhold from the initial $40 million payment by Samsung. The last payments by Spansion will bring the firm's billings to "well under $10 million," Horwitz says, declining to comment further.

Kirkland & Ellis partner Edward Donovan represented Samsung in the matter. He did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Meanwhile three firms -- Latham & Watkins, Duane Morris and Baker & McKenzie -- are busy billing away on the Spansion bankruptcy. (Click here for a previous post on the trio's billing rates.)

Horwitz hopes that the IP settlement can help Spansion weather its economic troubles.

"This is a good settlement for Spansion, despite the fact that [the company] has problems," says Horwitz, adding that the firm remains IP litigation counsel to the flash memory maker.

Spansion Inc. said Wednesday it has decided to pursue a standalone strategy focused on the embedded solutions market and intellectual property licensing.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Spansion (Nasdaq: SPSN), which has significant manufacturing operations in Austin and employs about 1,000 here, said it will pursue "strategic alternatives" for its wireless business, but did not give other details.


The company said it expects to emerge from its Chapter 11 restructuring process with a sustainable business model aimed at annual revenue of approximately $1 billion.

In addition, the company said it believes it has adequate working capital -- approximately $195 million in cash as of April 19 -- to support its strategy.

In February, Spansion announced it was laying off 3,000 employees companywide, including 164 workers in the local area. Officials said the job cuts would save the company $225 million a year and help it better weather the recession.

Spansion (SPSN) on Wednesday said it plans to pursue a stand-alone strategy focused on the embedded solutions market and intellectual property licensing. The NOR-flash company, which is operating under Chapter 11 of the Federal bankruptcy code, said it will pursue “strategic alternatives” for its wireless business.

The chip company also said it expect to emerge from Chapter 11 “with a sustainable business model aimed at maximizing recovery for creditors, generating free cash flow and profits,” with a run rate of about $1 billion a year. The company said it has enough working capital to supports its strategy.

The decision to take a stand-alone approach implies that Spansion did not find a buyer for the company as a whole. Meanwhile, it still remains unclear what if any value will be left over for common stockholders when the reorgnization is completed.

SPSN today rose 3 cents, or 17.7%, to 20 cents.

Bei diesem enormen Buchwert dürfte für die common stockholder eigentlich jede Menge übrig bleiben. Das klingt nach einem schönen Turnaround, aber wer weiß ob die Amis uns nicht verarschen und die common stockholder trotzdem leer ausgehen lassen. Wenn die Jungs fair vorgehen ist die Aktie blad wieder ein paar Dollar Wert.

warte am besten bis drüben auf ist...dann kannst du auch hier Dtl. einkaufen. Denke du bekommst dann welche zu 0,14€ das finde ich ok im Vergleich zu 0,18$!! so habe ich meine damals auch gekauft...sobald die usa geöffnet hat bekommst du bei uns auch mehr stück! blöd nur wenn drüben heute zu 0,20$ eröffnet wird, dann kommst du nicht mehr billiger rein als jetzt und bei Spansion ist das jederzeit möglich dass der Kurs extrem anzieht sobald die nächste News kommt!!

Dazu kommt, dass Samsung nun von Spansion verklagt wird und so auch einen guten Schub an paar hundert Millionen für Spansion herumkommt.
Alleine das ist ein sehr guter Grund um am Ball zu bleiben.

Aber das ist nur meine persönliche Einschätung.

Spansion Inc. intends to exit bankruptcy court before the end of the year as a more focused chip company with little or no debt and about half the revenue it had a year ago, according to a regulatory filing Wednesday.

"We are looking at a total change in the company," said marketing Vice President John Nation. "It will be a very different Spansion than existed in 2007 and 2008. It will be a more focused company."

The company's factory on East Ben White Boulevard in East Austin, which has about 1,000 workers, will be a key part of its future. The plant makes flash memory chips and "remains a very important manufacturing asset for us," Nation said.

As it emerges from bankruptcy, Spansion plans to leave behind much of its business making cell phone-related chips.

But the company's plans call for a product group called "mobility," which Spansion did not explain. Most of the company's attention will be focused on the "embedded" market, where it makes memory chips for telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics devices, gaming equipment, TV set-top control boxes, automotive electronics, personal computer peripherals and networking gear.

Nation said the document disclosed Wednesday was prepared in April to help Spansion discuss reorganization plans with creditors in its bankruptcy case.

Spansion, after years of losses, filed for reorganization in bankruptcy court Feb. 28.

In the filing, the company projected that its revenue will shrink from $2.3 billion in 2008 to $1.3 billion this year and $1.2 billion in 2010 before the company begins growing again in 2011 and 2012.

Operating income is projected to go from a $587 million loss in 2008 to a smaller loss of $80 million in 2009 and to an operating profit of $165 million in 2010.

Research and development is expected to shrink dramatically, from $443 million in 2008 to $107 million in 2010, because the company will drop much of its product development efforts aimed at the wireless device market.

"We can have a very successful business focusing on a smaller part of the market and leveraging the R&D investments we have made to that point," Nation said. "One of the problems with addressing the entire wireless market (as the company did last year) is that you have to operate on the bleeding edge of technology, and that is very expensive."

Spansion still wants to emerge from bankruptcy court in the fourth quarter of this year, with many creditors becoming stockholders in the reorganized company. But Nation acknowledged that a bankruptcy case is a negotiated proceeding and that it can take longer than expected.

Nation did not spell out exactly what Spansion's plans are for its factories in Japan, including Spansion 1, a $1.2 billion facility that was completed in 2007.

Analyst Jim Handy with Objective Analysis in San Jose, Calif., said he expects that Spansion will sell the Japanese factory because it will no longer be necessary for its downsized business plans.

Spansion cut about 3,000 workers, or 35 percent of its global workforce, in February.

Spansion expects to emerge from Chapter 11 by year end
Spansion's $220 million Q2 cash balance was an increase of approximately $125 million compared to Q1's balance of $95 million.

Confident after a solid Q2, Spansion Inc has stated that it expects to emerge from Chapter 11 by the end of Q4 as a leaner, more competitive company that has greater operational efficiencies and is positioned to lead to positive free cash flow and profitability.

The flash maker has been undergoing a restructuring effort for some time now. In 2008, the company had a sharp eye on manufacturing costs and announced plans to transfer certain manufacturing, test, and assembly assets to third parties and establish manufacturing and technology partnerships as it refocused its own capital investments. In 2009, after cutting 3000 jobs to save $225 million and naming a new CEO in February, Spansion filed for bankruptcy and appointed a chief restructuring officer in March. Following that, the company in April announced it was pursuing strategic alternatives for its wireless business, so that it could focus on the on the embedded solutions market and intellectual property licensing.

"Spansion is executing well against its plan and these [Q2] results are evidence of our strong performance," said John Kispert, Spansion president and CEO, in a statement Tuesday afternoon. "The company delivered higher than forecasted net sales, decreased operating expenses, and significantly improved its cash balances, providing solid momentum for emergence from Chapter 11 in the fourth quarter."

In the June quarter, net sales were $376 million, down slightly from the prior quarter's $401 million in revenue.

“As a result of a focus on cost reductions, efficiencies and asset management we increased our cash position to $220 million at the end of our second quarter, which is a great improvement from Spansion’s cash-challenged position earlier this year,” Kispert said.

Spansion's Q2 cash balance was an increase of approximately $125 million compared to Q1's balance of $95 million.

Investment in R&D continues at a rate slightly greater than 10% of net sales, the company said. Total operating expenses, excluding restructuring charges, dropped more than 20% in Q2 compared to Q1, Spansion reported.

“Spansion and its creditors are managing the bankruptcy process very well,” said John Brincko, Spansion’s lead restructuring advisor, in the statement. “Over the next few months, I anticipate Spansion will file a plan of reorganization and successfully emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the fourth quarter as a strong, focused company and a formidable competitor in the flash memory marketplace.”

sehr schön zu sehen wie der kurs mit 1k gedrückt wird um dann 90k aus dem ask zu saugen.300k wieder zu 0,185 könnte aber auch ne sammelorder sein wurde nachbörslich gebucht.
es bleibt sehr spannend.wie es laufen kann sieht man bei nortel,wamu und lehmann.

Spansion has claimed its foundry agreement with Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) is still valid, though the schedule to ramp 65nm production at SMIC's 300mm (12-inch) facility in Wuhan has been postponed due to its insolvency proceedings.

John Nation, director of corporate marketing for Spansion, said that the company is jointly developing MirrorBit technology with SMIC and Wuhan Xinxin Semiconductor Manufacturing. The chipmaker expects to ramp production of 65nm MirrorBit NOR at Wuhan Xinxin in the second quarter of 2010, and is speeding up efforts to transfer 43nm MirrorBit ORNAND2 flash memory technology to the 12-inch fab operated by SMIC.

Spansion is currently producing 65nm MirrorBit NOR at its own 12-inch facility as it works though its insolvency issues, according to Nation. Wuhan Xinxin will play as Spansion's sole foundry supplier for 2010, when the memory market is expected to see a solid recovery.

Spansion is scheduled to successfully emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the fourth quarter of 2009, according to previous announcements.

Spansion extended its foundry agreement with SMIC from 65nm to 43nm in August 2008, with manufacturing to take place at SMIC's Wuhan fab.

Wie geplant geht es hier weiter.Volumen steigt täglich an.Gestern 1,2 mille heute 2,8 mille und das bei steigenden kurs.hier wird ganz klar auf verlassen chapter 11 spekuliert.es wird ja noch dieses jahr angestrebt.die zocker kommen dann wohl erst bei 0,50.soll mir recht sein.die werden das teil dann auf den dollar treiben.

The NOR flash memory market second quarter results reveal that Numonyx achieved revenue of $380million, with Spansion posting $376m.

According to market analyst iSuppli, Numonyx gained significant traction in the second quarter, having attained $330m in Q1, while Spansion's revenue declined from $398m in the same period.

Earlier this year, Spansion declared Chapter 11 and announced that it would focus on the embedded memory segment while abandoning the wireless market. Leaving a gap in the wireless market, in which other NOR companies such as Numonyx and Samsung took advantage of the additional business opportunities. ISuppli predicts that Numonyx will continue to pull away from Spansion during the reorganisation.

However, it also predicts that Spansion will be a strong player in the flash memory market, aided by growth in applications such as set top boxes, Blu-ray players and medical imagine systems.

The supplier ranking reveals that Samsung's third place was a result of growth of $19m from Q1 to Q2, while fourth place Macronix increased its revenue from $58m to $91m in the same period.

Meine Order stehen, denn dies dürfte wohl eine leichte Konso sein, mehr sicherlich nicht, denn Spansion wird seinen Weg machen und unterhalb 1Eu verschwende ich nicht mal einen Gedanken an Verkauf, aber alle an Kaufen Eine andere Gelegenheit als Washington Mut, Genta o.a., hier ist was fundamentales...etwas sehr starkes - was sich wieder etabliert...let us see

der chart sagt alles.denke hier kommt was positives.das ist aber nur ein kleiner meilenstein.ziel ist chapter 11 zu beenden und ein höheres listing.
kuck dir icp solar an da steht auch noch was an die nächsten wochen und die ist noch nicht angesprungen.kann man sich noch paar teile holen.man muß aktien kaufen wenn sie keiner haben will.

Das ehemalige AMD-Fujitsu-Joint-Venture Spansion erweist sich als zäh: Nach Schätzungen der Marktbeobachter von iSuppli sank Spansions Umsatz mit NOR-Flash-Speicherchips vom ersten zum zweiten Quartal 2009 zwar um 5,5 Prozent auf 376 Millionen US-Dollar, doch damit hält sich das seit Anfang 2009 unter Gläubigerschutz stehende Unternehmen noch immer auf dem zweiten Platz dicht hinter dem Intel-STMicroelectronics-Joint-Venture Numonyx. Die neue Nummer 1 im NOR-Flash-Markt legte beim Umsatz um 15 Prozent auf zuletzt 380 Millionen US-Dollar zu und liegt damit sehr knappe 4 Millionen US-Dollar vorn.

Der drittgrößte Marktteilnehmer Samsung kam mit 117 Millionen US-Dollar nur auf etwa ein Drittel des Umsatzes der beiden führenden; als viert- und fünftgrößte NOR-Flash-Produzenten hat iSuppli Macronix (91 Millionen US-Dollar) und Silicon Storage Technology (42 Millionen US-Dollar) ermittelt.

Außer Spansion konnten alle anderen vier Unternehmen ihren Umsatz steigern; Spansion konzentriert sich jetzt auf Embedded-NOR-Flash-Speicher und hat sich aus dem "Wireless"-Markt, also den Chips für Handys und Smartphones, zurückgezogen. Dieses Marktsegment haben die Konkurrenten nun unter sich aufgeteilt.

Unterdessen sind Spekulationen aufgetaucht, wonach Micron am Kauf von Numonyx interessiert sein soll, um in den NOR-Flash-Markt einzusteigen. Micron betreibt gemeinsam mit Intel das NAND-Flash-Joint-Venture IM Flash Technologies und könnte beispielsweise den Intel-Anteil an Numonyx übernehmen. Numonyx wiederum fertigt auch NAND-Flash, und zwar in der gemeinsam mit Hynix betriebenen Fab im chinesischen Wuxi. Das könnte auch Hynix zupass kommen: Der zweitgrößte DRAM-Hersteller der Welt braucht dringend frisches Kapital und hat bereits die Back-End-Fab in Wuxi abgestoßen.

Hynix/Numonyx sind im NAND-Flash-Markt, der deutlich größer ist als der NOR-Flash-Markt, aber immerhin die Nummer 4 – knapp hinter IM Flash. Micron müsste also einiges an Kapital aufbringen, um zugreifen zu können. Zwar geht es im DRAM-Markt zurzeit aufwärts, doch Micron kämpft ebenfalls mit Verlusten, hat 2008 schon tausende von Stellen abgebaut und Mitte 2009 die Sparte Aptina verkauft.

das ist absolut nicht unrealistisch.

sollte im nächsten Q zu sehen sein das schlackung anschlägt und eine weiterführung möglich ist wird der Kurs auch wieder mit zukunftswert gehandelt und nicht mit diesem angstkurs unter Capter 11.

Momentan wird die Aktie durch die guten aussichten zum ausstieg aus C11 beflügelt.

Der eigentliche Run kommt erst wenn dieses passiert.

Wow, ein Aschenputtel unter den Aktien, das unscheinbar aber mit vielversprechendem Potentiall auf die Prinzen wartet. Bin auf heute Nachmittag auf den Überseekursablauf gespannt. 0,5 $ müssten locker von der Stange gehen.

Bis Ende des Jahres könnte eine 500% Steigerung möglich sein. Bei guten Nachrichten vielleicht auch mehr. Die Aktie kommt aus einem über 10 € Bereich und Spansion ist mit dem Umsatz immer noch auf der zweiten Stelle im NOR-Flash-Speicher Segment.

Oct 2 (Reuters) - Bankrupt flash memory chips maker Spansion Inc said it plans to file a reorganization plan with the U.S. bankruptcy court in the near future and aims to exit Chapter 11 protection in the late fourth quarter of 2009 or early 2010.

In a statement, the company said it had submitted a motion with the court seeking permission to file its reorganization plan without the related disclosure statement.

A disclosure statement must provide 'adequate information' about a bankrupt company's affairs and enable claim holders to make an informed judgment about the proposed reorganization plan.

In court documents, Spansion said its disclosure statement continues to be a work in progress and that it will file the statement within a few weeks of the filing of the reorganization plan.

Spansion filed for bankruptcy in March after succumbing to plunging chip prices, as more consumers eschewed electronic gadgets during the recession.

The company said it had reached an agreement on the material economic terms of the reorganization plan with a consortium of holders of the company's senior secured floating rate notes and a committee of the company's unsecured creditors.

The case is In re: Spansion Inc, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Delaware, No. 09-10690.

Die Zocker die von ende des Jahres rausmüssen haben sich verabschiedet.

Denke auch das erst mitte Q1 2010 etwas zu erwarten ist.

Die Luft ist also nicht raus.

Wenn das so im SEC Filling drin steht, dann ist das wohl so geplant! Also schon wirklich schwierig und wenn ich mir nun den Chart anschaue, dann war das HOCHZIEHEN nur wirklich kosmetischer Natur. Denke es geht heute rapide weiter runter. Außer die bringen eine Meldung raus, dass alles doch nicht so gewollt ist ;-)

Wie der Reporter so schön sagt, wenn Sie jemanden finden der Ihre Stücke haben will, dann würde er sie losschlagen...

wirklich schlimmes Szenario meiner Meinung nach.

Doch schon, sicher ist, daß man, wenn es doch wider Erwarten keine Enteignung der Altaktionäre geben wird, immer wieder günstig einsteigen kann. Ich bin schon Freitag raus und schaue jetzt erst mal zu. Die meisten Amis werden das Wochenende gebraucht haben, um das 8-K zu verdauen und es ist Blödsinn, den Schlußkurs vom Freitag als Maßstab für heute zu nehmen.

jep, aber das Volumen ist eigentlich viel zu gering, das man da von Nachhaltigkeit sprechen kann. Wäre ich investiert würde ich meiner MEinung nach die Gewinne mitnehmen und heute mal abwarten. Egal wie hochgetaxt ist hochgetaxt und kann oder sollte man nutzen!

Wer zu 0,9 oder 0,10 usw. rein ist der hat doch das was er wollte :-)

Kursverlauf zeigt die richtung an.

Ein wenig Erfahrung reicht um zu sehen das dieser Wert nicht aufgrund der letzten Neuigkeiten in den Keller geht.

Alle Aussagen speziell zu den Altaktien sind auch noch nicht bindend.

Sollte Spansion den Ausstieg schaffen wäre bei dem derzeitigen Umsatzvolumen ein Wert pro Papier von 1,5$ durchaus gerechfertigt.

Auf alle Fälle kann man dem 8-K entnehmen, daß die Interessen der Altaktionäre bei der Sanierung der Firma an allerletzter Stelle stehen, also ein ganz normaler Inso-Zock. Ich bleib an der Seitenlinie.

charttechnisch sah es gestern abend schon nach abstieg aus. da wurden wohl einige sl orders bedient. aber nur geringes volumen. kurs scheint sich zu stabilisieren. aber jetzt ist erstmal abwarten angesagt bevor man einsteigt.

ja sieht sehr unsicher aus aktuell. Also unter 0,20 rutscht es sicherlich noch mal, zumal der Verkauf der FAb wohl nicht so gut an der Börse ankommt ;-)
