Der Chairman von Avalon Minerals Ltd., David Mc Sweeney, hat mir heute sein im Moment noch kleines Unternehmen vorgestellt. Er selbst hat aber schon einige Firmen zum Erfolg geführt, u.a. ein Unternehmen mit einer Marktkapitalisierung von 500 Mio. AUD. Es geht hier um Kupferabbau in Schweden. Das Projekt hatte vorher ein Major, aber die konzentrieren sich nur noch auf die ganz grossen Projekte und das ist die Chance von solch kleineren Firmen. Bisher gibt es schon 3000 Bohrlöcher und dadurch ist jetzt schon klar, dass es sich lohnt ab 2012 in Produktion zu gehen. Es werden jetzt aber noch einige Zonen näher angeschaut, ob da noch mehr liegen könnte. Mit dem was man jetzt schon weiss rechnet man mit Produktionskosten von 0,60 $ pro Pfund und der Preis liegt gerade bei ca. 2,30 $. Selbst in der Krise ging der Preis "nur" auf ca. 1,40 oder 1,50 $ glaube ich zurück, d.h. selbst da kann man noch gut damit leben.... Eine Marktkapitalisierung von knapp 6 Mio. EUR lässt viel Spielraum nach oben, aber die Firma wird vermutlich im September ein PP machen, damit weiter gebohrt werden kann in den neuen Zonen.... Einer der Hauptaktionäre neben David ist, wenn ich es noch richtig weiss, ein Stahlhersteller aus Malaysia. Es gibt sicher auch hier Risiken, aber man sollte den Wert zumindest auf der Watchlist behalten. Vermutlich wird eine Börsennotiz in Frankfurt geplant, trotzdem wird es nicht einfach dort einen vernünftigen fairen Handel aufzubauen.

Er hat rund 15 Jahre lang die Gindalbie Metals, WKN 892692, aufgebaut. Da er auch nicht mehr der Jüngste ist will er es jetzt aber erheblich schneller schaffen und noch selbst die Ernte einfahren.

Deine Antwort zum aufgebauten Unternehmen ist jetzt da - was nützt mir der Name eines Unternehmens wenn ich weiss, dass ein Freund von mir das gecheckt hat. Gindalbie Metals habe ich noch nie gehört, obwohl die selbst jetzt noch 400 Mio. AUD Marktkapitalisierung haben und das bei ca. 0,80 AUD u nd der Kurs war mal bei rund 1,80 AUD...

Die Börsennotiz in Frankfurt ist da und der Kurs selbst im Bid bei 0.15 EUR, erheblich höher als zur Zeit Deiner Antwort. Der Betafaktor hat auch etwas darüber geschrieben. Bisher ist die Firma noch sehr wenigen bekannt denke ich...

Also Kupferpreis hat sich seit Jahresanfang ziemlich genau verdoppelt.
Kupfer-Futures liegen bei knapp über 300 $, Anfang Januar warn es rund 150 $.
Also der Markt kommt zumindest Avalon entgegen.

im moment habe ich keine reserven hier einzusteigen, aber ich denke es werden sich noch mehrere gute möglichkeiten ergeben dies zu tun, zumal die ja noch eine gewisse entwicklungsphase vor sich haben.

habe die aktie auf jeden fall oben in meiner watchlist, wenn meine beiden noch schlafenden reverse merger hochgehen, werde ich einen einstieg hier nochmal kurstechnisch überprüfen

Avalon hat jetzt eine Genehmigung fuer die Wiedereroeffnung der Viscaria-Mine beantragt. Demnach will Avalon 3 Mio Tonnen Erz ueber einen Zeitraum von 5 Jahren abbauen. Das waere das mindeste, was sich rechnet.
Was das ganze ein wenig trickreich macht, ist, dass sowohl Strasse als auch Bahnstrecke nach Norwegen durch das Lizenzgebiet gehen, dh die naehere Umgebung ist fuer den Abbau tabu. Ausserdem werden Auswirkungen auf Grundwasserspiegel und einige Wasserlaeufe erwartet. Und schliesslich wird es auch die Rentierzuechter betreffen.
Nach Erteilung einer Genehmigung wird es vermutlich nochmal 12-18 Monate dauern, bevor die Mine in Betrieb geht.

Die Bankable Feasibility-Studie wird erst in 2012 erscheinen!
Es soll zuerst noch Phase zwei des Bohrprogramms erfolgen!

Auszug aus einer email von Andrew Munckton:

Drilling of the Phase 1 program was completed in April 2011. We are still waiting for some assays to be returned from that program as the Assay labs are very busy at the moment.

However, the drilling returned to date indicated that the D Zone is a little higher grade and in places significantly wider than previously appreciated. That is likely to push the open pit design deeper all other things being equal.

Therefore a second phase of drilling will be required to access this deeper ore prior to completing the BFS.

Drilling of phase 2 will commence in august and continue for the remainder of the year.

The BFS delivery has therefore been pushed back to around March 2012 to allow this phase 2 drilling to be considered as well.

The project start up will probably be determined anyway by the environmental approval process and licence to operate which is scheduled to be received about the same time in Q1 2012.

Das sind nun wahrlich schlechte Nachrichten:

Die scheinbar sichere Finanzierung (siehe Posting vom 22.06.11) ist geplatzt!
Nun muss ein neuer Geldgeber gesucht werden.

Da das Management über 27 % der Anteile hält, wird es schon aus Eigeninteresse an einer raschen Lösung des Problems interessiert sein.
Ich bleibe deshalb investiert und sehe Avalon Minerals als "Langzeit-Invest".

Background
Avalon Minerals Limited (Avalon or the Company) advised the ASX on 22 June 2011 that it was undertaking a fully underwritten $10.8 million capital raising (the June placement) in 2 tranches. Funds of $1.5 million from the first tranche were received and shares issues accordingly in early July.
On the weekend of 30 and 31 July the underwriter advised the Company that he intended not to proceed with the underwriting of the balance of the placement.
A trading halt in AVI shares was requested and granted from the ASX prior to the commencement of trading on Monday 1 August. Subsequently, a suspension from quotation was also requested from and granted by the ASX on Wednesday 3 August. This trading halt and suspension was required while the company sought alternative parties to replace the commitments of the underwriter of the June placement. Unfortunately the significant deterioration of market conditions particularly on Friday 5 August now makes the successful negotiation of an alternative underwriter very unlikely.
Current Position
As at 5 August 2011 the net cash reserves of the Company totalled $1.3 million.
The Board has instructed Management to seek to conclude a new placement and to seek additional funding for the Company from new sources to progress the Viscaria Bankable Feasibility Study and exploration targets.
The Company has taken steps to focus on the high priority areas of the BFS while the funding situation is clarified.
Avalon is currently in discussion with a number of parties to provide additional funding to the Company.
These discussions include
(a) Short term funding from investors from within the Company’s current placement capacity of approximately 23 million shares.
(b) Longer term funding from potential cornerstone investors that would be subject to shareholder approval if the placement(s) exceeded the current capacity of 23 million shares.
Avalon will advise the Market as to the impact on its business once discussions with potential investors are more advanced. This announcement will now bring to an end the current voluntary trading suspension.

Avalon Minerals boosts JORC Resources at Viscaria project in Sweden.

Avalon Minerals has received a combined copper JORC Resource of 53.8 million tonnes at 1% copper for 541,200 tonnes of copper metal for the Viscaria Project in northern Sweden.

There is now a D Zone iron ore and copper Resource of 11.9 million tonnes at 24.1% iron and 0.55% copper an increase of 33% from the previous estimate. In addition, an iron concentrate resource of 4.3 million tonnes at 68.3% iron and 1.0% silicon dioxide has been estimated. The overall Measured and Indicated Resources have increased to 58% of the Resource.

The new Resource estimate was completed by CSA for the Viscaria A Zone Copper, B Zone Copper and D Zone Copper and Iron deposits following the drilling programs conducted over the 2010 and 2011 drilling season.

The drilling program in the last year was the first modern exploration work that has investigated the D Zone and B Zone mineralization in some detail. Some limited drilling and a reinterpretation of the A Zone mineralization was also undertaken in the program.

Avalon's work was the first in the modern era to incorporate QAQC, downhole deviation and downhole geophysics as routine elements of a resource drilling program. The additional data has increased the company's confidence in and the reliability of the Resources estimated and the models provided by CSA will form the basis of the ongoing assessment of the project with Whittle optimization mine design and Ore Reserve estimation now able to commence.

Importantly, the updated Resources will provide the foundation to re visit the Base Case and Development Case scenarios which the company presented as part of the Viscaria Pre Feasibility Study in October 2010.

Avalon is running several scenarios using the latest information including a number of new options designed to investigate opportunities for improving the value of the project by reducing the capital cost and operating cost of the project with different processing plant configurations and annual production rates.

The company is continuing its consultation with the Kiruna Kommun, other interested parties and Government departments in connection with its Environmental Impact Study which is progressing through the Swedish Environmental Court approvals process.

ASX Announcement 24 January 2012 Mining Exploitation Concessions K3 and K4 at Viscaria Granted The Board of Avalon Minerals (ASX code AVI) are pleased to announce that Mining Exploitation Concessions (MEC) Viscaria K3 and Viscaria K4 covering D zone and part of A Zone and B Zone mining areas at Viscaria have been granted by the Mining Inspector of the Bergsstaten (Mines Department of Sweden). See Figure 1 The granting of the mining concessions is a precursor to approval by the Environmental Court of Sweden of the Licence to Operate at Viscaria. The granting of the MEC Viscaria K3 and K4 is subject to several conditions including     Consultation with the local Sameby reindeer herding groups and protection of reindeers during the annual migration.

Cooperation with neibouring mining companies, principally LKAB, on land use. Payment of Performance bonds totalling 600,000 SEK (approximately A$90,000) prior to mining commencement. Protection of infrastructure (principally the E10 highway and railway) which are adjacent to the granted MEC.

The Mining Inspector stated there were no objections to the grant of Viscaria K7 however the area is subject to land use rezoning to allow both mining and wind power generation to occur. The County Administration Board which is the functional administrator of the land use zoning around the city of Kiruna has no objection to the rezoning.

The grant of Viscaria K7 is expected to be available by mid 2012. As you would expect for concessions, so close to the city of Kiruna there was a large amount of interest and comment from the general public and affected parties which required longer than usual consideration by the Mining Inspector.

The company can now move forward at Viscaria with greater certainty and we look forward to further discussion and cooperation with the regulator”.

Jeremy Read (ex-Meridian Minerals and Discovery Metals Ltd) recently joined AVI as Managing Director and has successfully set out the company’s exploration strategy which has been well received by the market with the stock doubling since February. AVI is still cheap trading on US$0.025/lb of copper in resource versus its peers on US$0.08/lb. A key factor in bringing the fl agship Viscaria Copper Project in Sweden to fruition is the proving up of suffi cient high grade mineralised zones in the VMS / Skarn deposit. A preliminary drilling programme is underway, which will be followed by a scoping study looking at the viability of a dual underground and open pit operation. The results of this study are due for publication in July 2012. Following the scoping study the company is aiming to double the high grade resource at Viscaria A zone via a major 6 month drilling program which commences in October 2012 and will run for 6 months. In addition to the A zone the company has several regional targets: (1) the lower grade Viscaria B and D zones, (2) Tjarro – a skarn similar in mineralisation to Viscaria D, (3) Karkejaure – a large coincident mag/gravity anomaly and (4) Copper lake – several historic Cu workings. We rate AVI a speculative buy ahead of the scoping study and further drilling results.

Significant Upgrade to the Discovery Zone Mineral
Resource Estimate for Copper, Gold and Iron
Highlights:
-Significant increase in grade to 0.80% Copper and 0.19g/t Gold;
-Significant increase in contained metals, by 110% for copper to 71,000t
and by 96% for Gold to 55,000oz;
-30% of the Discovery Zone has been upgraded to JORC 2012 Indicated
Mineral Resource classification; resulting in less drilling required to
complete further Feasibility Studies;
The Discovery Zone Prospect is one of four deposits that comprise the
Viscaria Copper-Iron Project.
