obwohl wir heute sicherlich noch ins minus rutschen werden, denke ich dennoch, daß dieses neue historischen intraday-high durch einen neuen thread gewürdigt werden muß!!! ;-)
waaahnsinn!!! sowas unglaubliches habe ich echt noch nie erlebt! trotz des steilen anstiegs schaffen die es doch tatsächlich noch, sich verhältnismäßig gut gegen die fallende nasdaq zu stemmen, einfach irre! bin mal gespannt, wo wir heute schließen. mein tip: 189$ bei nasdaq 4387.
obwohl es eigentlich langfristig gesund wäre und überfälligst ist, hoffe ich trotzdem, daß die party jetzt nicht langsam zu ende geht, es ist einfach zu schön!

Auch ich bin im November letzten jahres bei Infospace zu einem Kurs von ( splittbereinigt ) 40 Euro eingestiegen und ich bin sehr optimistisch was die nächsten 2 Jahre angeht , ich schließe mich dem Kursziel von zuendi ( 1000 euro in den nächsten 2-3 Jahren) an .

meiner Meinung nach wird Infospace.com in 2-3 Jahren zu den TOP 10 der Internetfirmen weltweit zählen (wenn nicht zu den TOP 5).

Richtig bekannt ist dieser Sachverhalt immer noch nicht, wenn auch der Kurs schon extrem gestiegen ist. Der nächste Split steht schon wieder vor der Tür. Unglaublich. Die guten news reissen nicht ab.

Hi! Well, I got up about 5am and headed up to Tempe from Tucson to see if I could meet Mr. Jain at the wireless conference. I forgot how bad Phoenix traffic can be, so I arrived about ten minutes after the conference started. As you probably know, this was for company CEO`s only but I was welcomed if I could pay the $500 admission fee...I passed and asked if I could wait and see if I could meet Mr. Jain. I was told that there would be a 10am break and that Mr. Jain would probably come out. Well, I sat there with my digital camera thinking all kinds of things, what I would say, how I would approach him, what he would do...when you sit there for about an hour you start thinking of all the dramas you`ve seen on TV and started wondering if they thought I was nuts or something. I wish more of you would have been there because we could have fed each other ideas on what we could ask if we had a chance to talk to him. aber wenn ich das richtig sehe, dann hat oracle noch keine carrier als partner. INSP dagegen hat schon über 20 mit einem potentiellen kundenpotential von über 100mio.
INSP hat sich mittlerweile schon einen guten namen in diesem bereich gemacht. im übrigen fallen mir da worte wie first-mover-advantage ein

INSP größtes plus ist eh unser restless leader jain. der wird das schon richten.

KZ 1000$ (bzw 500$ nach dem split im märz) bleibt für bestehen.


interessanter ist für mich die lizenz-meldung von gestern! was genau hat das für einen vorteil? da blicke ich noch nicht ganz durch.

so richtig gut scheint man ja die aufkommende konkurrenz, so sie sich denn als solche erweisen sollte, wohl nicht aufzunehmen. gegen den trend ein minus von über 2%. das gabs lange nicht. wobei ich, insbesondere bei nokia und amazon, doch eher denke, daß hier eine ergänzung zu INSP seitens der carrier gesucht wird, und kein ersatz. wie auch immer, ORACLE meinte jedenfalls, daß die wireless branche in zukunft enormes wachstumspotential hätten. das ist zwar nichts neues, zeigt aber, daß jetzt auch andere auf den (bereits fahrenden) zug aufspringen wollen. ich denke jedoch, daß INSP mit einem ICE und die anderen nur mit nem Regionalexpress unterwegs sind... ;-))

Making Sense of Absurd Moves

So I go through the papers and the Web sites, and I
can`t believe that the only thing that dominated
yesterday, Cisco`s (CSCO:Nasdaq - news - boards)
14-point ramp, didn`t get covered by anybody. Of
course, everybody is clueless in the media because
the company would have no idea about this move and the analysts would have
no idea.

Like many moves in this new era, this was a drive spurred by some arcane
rebalancing of the S&P. Mutual funds that mimic the S&P had to buy more than
they previously owned. In the pre-index world, we didn`t get crazy moves like
this. Moves were driven by fundamentals. Now the biggest moves are because
of rebalancings and index creations.

Take the B2B move yesterday. That was because of some
Merrill Lynch basket being put together. Or how about the
InfoSpace (INSP:Nasdaq - news - boards), Exodus
(EXDS:Nasdaq - news - boards) and BroadVision
(BVSN:Nasdaq - news - boards) moves today? They feel like
they are being put into some basket.

This stuff is hard to game. Who knows when the basket weaving is finished?
Who knows when the index buyers are done? Who knows what will be added
next to some index?

Yet that`s what is moving things. It is frustrating to this stock picker because I
see moves that I can`t get my arms around.

But all of these baskets have one thing in common: They take place in the field
of technology. Which is why you can`t leave tech -- even if you can`t game why
absurd moves like the 14-point one in Cisco take place.

They aren`t putting together baskets for the beer and wine companies.

Hi INSP,
für mich war es relativ beruhigend, daß letzte Woche fast gar nichts passiert ist (5 Tage lang $200). Habe mich schon auf die Seitwärtsbewegung wie letztes Jahr eingestellt. Umso überraschender dann der Kursanstieg. Aber!!! Ich verstehe eigentlich nicht, warum Du schon wieder raus willst? Ich bin raus aus der Spek-Frist, denke aber nicht daran die Dinger zu verkaufen. Wüßte gar nicht was ich mit dem Geld machen sollte!?

Im Moment mache ich mir mehr Gedanken über die im Okt. 98 gekauften DaimlerChrysler. Da habe ich damals 4-mal soviel investiert wie in INSP. Und es ist kaum zu glauben, seit damals verdoppelt sich der DAX und mit diesen ...eiß-Dingern bin ich im minus. Naja dachte damals daß man auch "sichere" Blue-Chips haben muß. Als Depot-Beimischung habe ich ein paar russische Versorger dazugemischt. Das war gar nicht so schlecht. Hab ich heute noch.

Ich bin eigentlich der Meinung, daß im Moment bezüglich INSP kein Handlungsbedarf besteht. Überleg doch mal, die Popularität von INSP ist doch wohl noch weit weg von einer z. B. Yahoo. Schau Dir den Chart an, es geht immer 5 Schritte hoch und dann 1 wieder runter. Es ist alles in bester Ordnung. Und im März kommt der nächste Split. Das sollte dem Kurs doch auch (noch mehr) Schwung geben.

Ruhig bleiben und abwarten, es geht nach wie vor nach oben.

Ach noch ne Frage. Was hälst Du von Tomorrow?

klar, stimmt schon. daher die "anführungszeichen". für mich sind es immerhin auch ca. 60%. ich wage dennoch die prognose, daß INSP heute ca. +-0 schließt, weil ich glaube, daß die nasdaq heute noch zurückkommt. aber ich hatte heute noch mit einigen anderen sachen glück (z.B. intershop), daher könnte ich damit leben.
ich werde karneval (komme aus dem kölner raum) mein glas auf das internet erheben, daß auf dem allerbesten wege ist, mich reich zu machen. allen voran unser aller darling INSP!

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- Naveen Jain, chairman and chief executive of InfoSpace (INSP: news, msgs), said Monday that the company can meet or exceed most analysts` first-quarter estimates. According to First Call, analysts expect a loss of 12 cents a share. The company is a provider of content and e-commerce services.

At the Robertson Stephens Tech 2000 investment conference in San Francisco, Jain said InfoSpace`s revenue growth has been driven by "solid execution." "Our business," he said, "is just doing very, very well." Jain added that rival Phone.com will be "out of business in two years," eliminated by what Jain called InfoSpace`s superior wireless strategy.

The CEO said he agrees with industry analysts who estimate that no more than 10 percent of retail sales can come from the Internet. "E-tailing is just a glorified catalog," he said. Given this reality, Jain said, InfoSpace will be in good position because it provides e-commerce services to numerous bricks-and-mortar retailers.

das einzige, was mir im moment aufstößt, sind jains kommentare zu anderen unternehmen. ein CEO sollte sich eigentlich nicht zu anderen unternehmen äußern, oder zumindest nicht behaupten, dass sie in 2jahren geschichte sein werden. ist wirklich kein feiner ton.
aber auf der anderen seite gefällt mir seine agressive art.

genau das ging mir auch durch den kopf. etwas arrogant ist (scheint?) er ja schon. erinnert mich etwas an reinhardt von SER der sich zu dem spruch hinreißen ließ "easy sei easy". dreist sowas! aber auf der anderen seite, auch jain ist kein halbgott und sündenfrei, auch wenn es mir oft so vor kam in letzter zeit... ;-)

war eben wieder mal geil; yahoo funktioniert bei mir heute irgendwie nicht, da hab ich die kurse halt über realtime geholt, mit cmgi, vert, lcos angefangen und dachte schon, heute ginge es runter, weil die alle zu dem zeitpunkt stark im minus waren. also hatte ich mich im geiste schon mit einem 230 kurs für INSP angefreundet als meine (noch immer von gestern freundentränennassen) augen plötzlich eine 255 auf dem display sahen!!!!

$25,126,000,000 werden derzeit für INSP bezahlt
und wenn man jains aussage, dieses jahr den umsatz zu ver-4-fachen für wahr nimmt, dann kommt man "grade mal" auf $145,436,000 an revenue!
also wird zZ das 173-fache des umsatzes bezahlt! der pure wahnsinn!
kann das gesund sein??
ehrlich gesagt, geht mir der run etwas zu schnell!

so sehr ich auch von INSP überzeugt bin und an meinen kurszielen von 300$ fürs jahresende und 1000$ ende 2002 festhalte, langsam wird mir doch schwindelig in diesen höhen.

denke das man nach 1200% in 5 Monaten lieber das Geld in alte klassische Werte investieren sollte.Ich denke eine Rally wie wie sie in den letzten 5 Monaten gesehen haben werden wir so schnell nicht wieder erleben.Ich denke ,das wir uns jetzt schon in der letzten Phase befinden,und jetz schon von Institutioneller Seite kräftig verkauft wird und jetzt schon in den Dow umgeschichtet.Dann im März werden die uns sagen,das der Dow (Standartwerte) total zurückgeblieben ist und die haben die Zweite Rally.Wenn dann der Dow läuft kackt die Nasdag wieder ordentlich ab.Ich würde jetzt für die Insp -Kohle Philip Morris oder Coca Cola kaufen.Von Philip Morris hätte ich 10% Dividente das sind auf meine eingesetzte Summe jährlich 100% Zinsen und das Lebenslang.

ich denke das die Deutschen Internet -Werte im Vergleich zu den Amerikanischen viel zu hoch bewertet sind.Schau dir mal ne Freenet an und vergleich die mal mit Lycos oder Eahrtlink.Eine Pixelpack wird doppelt so hoch bewertet wie die Marktführer in Amiland.Und eine Tomorrow wird ja auch schon mit 800 mill bewertet!Ich würde überhaupt keine Technelogie-Titel mehr kaufen.
Ich möchte eigentlich nur noch raus aus Infospace!!Aber ich muß noch 6 Monate und 3Wochen warten.

REDMOND, Wash., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- InfoSpace (Nasdaq: INSP - news) today announced that it has set a record date for the 2-for-1 stock split that was announced on January 31. Stockholders on the record date of March 24 will be entitled to one additional share for every share they own. New shares will be issued by the Company`s transfer agent, ChaseMellon Shareholder Services, on or around April 6. InfoSpace will start trading at the split-adjusted price on April 7.

was ich mir momentan noch kaufen würde, obwohl ich schon sie 24 dabei bin ist SYBS...hinter oracle einer der größten anbieter mit B2B fantasie und noch moderat bewertet, das kann man sogar über den sommer auf sicht von jahren halten ohne ein schlechtes gewissen haben zu müssen...

ja, wie oft in den letzten wochen habe ich mir gesagt "das wars jetzt". und dann legte INSP noch ne schippe drauf. unfaßbar! trotzdem wird mit jedem tag die chance auf den (großen) rückschlag wieder etwas höher. ich muß auch noch 4 wochen halten wegen steuer, sonst würde ich langsam wohl mal teilverkaufen, denn der "spatz" in der hand...
auf jeden fall gibt es heute wieder eine schöne bemerkung über INSP, s.u.
ich bin ja bescheiden, wenn es ab sofort seitwärts geht, reicht mir das schon. ;-)

also: Eine Seitwärtsbewegung würde ich im Moment begrüßen. Es geht doch ein bischen schnell. Aber vermutlich geht es immer nach dem gleichen Muster: Treiben die Amis die Nasdaq übertrieben nach oben, gibt`s bei INSP `ne kleine Korrektur. Fällt die Nasdaq, steigt INSP übertrieben nach oben. Solange das so läuft, soll`s mir recht sein

An Infospace
Sicherlich hast Du irgendwo recht. Aber mit den Standardwerten wirst Du wohl diese Gewinne nicht erreichen. Es gibt auch Leute, die machen sich Gedanken darüber, ob Sie nicht z. B. DAX oder DOW PUT-Scheine kaufen. Nehmen wir mal den DAX, nehmen die Telekom, SAP und Siemens raus, wo steht der DAX dann?

Also noch mal zu INSP. Zündis Einschätzung - bis in 2 Jahren $1000 - ich glaub schon dran. Aber bitte nicht schon in diesem Jahr, oder einfach nicht so schnell. Lieber langsam aber sicher. Will sie halt noch ein Weilchen im Depot haben. Freue mich jeden Tag auf`s Neue.


Noch eins: Habe letztes Jahr im Februar den Tip von einem Freund erhalten (INSP). Anfang November (ich glaube bei + 300% oder so) habe ich mir Gedanken darüber gemacht ob ich sie nicht verkaufen soll. Wieder der gleiche Freund hat mir geraten sie zu behalten. Ich brauche euch nicht genauer erklären wo ich mich heute hinbeißen würde wenn ich damals verkauft hätte ........ :O

Also jetzt bin ich drüber weg - könnte sie ja heute steuerfrei verkaufen - mach ich aber nicht. Im April hab ich doppelt so viel Stück. Und wenn sie dann im Dezember bei €150 stehen bin ich vollauf zufrieden.

Versteht das bitte nicht als Gier, sondern der Glaube an das GUTE.

InfoSpace.com CEO Jain on Changes in Internet Market: Comment

Redmond, Washington, March 3 (Bloomberg) -- The following are
comments from InfoSpace.com Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive
Naveen Jain, who spoke about the future of Internet companies.

``Portals will be have the same type of suffering that
e-tailers went through. The portals are in trouble right now. The
companies that will succeed are the infrastructure companies,
companies like Cisco, Verisign, Exodus.``

``In the wireless business, I suspect the carriers are going
to be the winners here. Companies like Phone.com will go out of
business. They`re in the commodity software business. Microsoft is
giving (software) away. Everyone`s giving it away, so how do they
survive against a free thing?``

On the impact of second-generation search-engine companies:
``Inktomi is in serious trouble because companies keep coming
up with better search technology, better caching technology.
That`s yet another company in the software business that will be
suffering. They have no fundamental defensible position.``
``Google will get acquired, Northern Light will get acquired.
Some of them will go public. The market will get so confused. They
won`t know what to do. Everyone claims they have better search
engines.
``It doesn`t matter which search engine you go to, you get a
whole bunch of junk.
``Some people will acquire them just to get rid of the
competition because they have the valuation to do that. If you
look at companies like AOL, AOL has no search engine. They use
Inktomi. They (AOL) probably will acquire one of them and won`t
have to go to Inktomi anymore.
``Yahoo has no search engine today. Yahoo would love to
acquire one of these guys.``

On the America Online-Time Warner agreement:
``It`s a good deal.
``It (AOL stock) is down because people don`t know what to do
with it. People on Wall Street have a very small way of looking at
the world. How do I find a comparative to what`s happening? They
don`t know how to value this long-term entity.
``In the long term, AOL-Time Warner is a good thing. Now they
have a defensible position. They have real revenue. If they want
to be in the media business, there`s no better company than Time
Warner.
``AOL has always said it`s a media company, not a technology
company. If you`re a media company, you must own television, you
must own radio stations. There`s no true media company other than
Time Warner that owns the best brands from People to Fortune to
Time. ``

On what Yahoo can do about the AOL-Time Warner transaction:
``Nothing. Because they`re gun-shy. They can`t do anything because
they`ll get killed. They can`t do anything even if it makes
business sense.
``They can still be independent by buying someone. They have
the currency to do that. They could buy News Corp. if they wanted
to. They would love to, but given the current situation with AOL-
Time Warner, they probably wouldn`t touch it. They know their
stock will get massively hit.``

sehe ich genauso wie du. werde INSP auch in einer korrektur halten, auch wenn es vielleicht dumm ist, weil man sicherlich mehr performance rausholen könnte, wenn man oben austeigt und unten wieder reingeht. aber genau da liegt ja auch die schwierigkeit. wann ist hoch und wann niedrig? bei dieser aktie weiß man nie, was als nächstes kommt. jeden tag könnte eine hammermeldung kommen, die den kurs noch weiter antreibt. am ende würde ich nur den wiedereinstieg verpassen. ne, nicht mit mir. diese aktie ist mir zu schade, um mit ihr zu traden.

mir ist das alles nicht mehr geheuer!!Wie weit sollen die noch steigen,die machen einen Gewinn von 5 Millionen,unser Meister sieht aus wie ein Pakistanischer Blumenverkäufer,und die Bude hat eine Marktkap von 25 Millarden.Wer jetzt Steuerfrei sein sollte dem kann ich nur raten zu verkaufen.Ihr wißt ja,ich kann noch nicht,aber ich würde so gerne raus.

warum so aggressiv?
Ich habe nur mal festgestell,das eine Infospace total überteuert ist,außerdem hab ich nichts gegen mr Jain und dessen Qualitäten gesagt,nur das er halt so aussieht.
2500% sind auf ein Jahr bezogen,und für einen Langfrist-Anleger(10-20Jahre)durch aus kein Problem auch zu erreichen.Du hast das in einem Jahr geschafft.Das ist Wahnsinn!!Ich habe gerade mal 1200%.
Mit der Stückzahl wollte ich dir nur sagen,das ich nicht nur mit ein paar Mark investiert so daher labere,(habe 800st)erinnere mich aber,das du selbst einmal deine Stückzahl im Consorsboard gepostest hast.
Natürlich hast du auch recht,wenn du sagst das die das Zeug zu einem Big Player haben,wir werden sehen,den Kurs und die Marktkap. haben die aber schon!
Und noch etwas Wichtiges:
Ich glaube wenn man eine Aktie hat,die super laüft,die jeden Tag steigt,mit der man viel Geld macht,besteht die Gefahr,das die einen zu sehr emotionalisiert.
Ich hätte nach so einer Rally wie sie Infospace hingelegt kein Problem die zu verkaufen.Ich will an der Börse Geld verdienen,und habe mit Infospace genug verdient.Pech gehabt,ich muß noch bis September warten,weil das Finazamt von mir keinen Pfennig bekommt!!
Trozdem vielleicht steigen die sogar noch weiter,was ich mir und allen weiter Investierten wünsche

Teuer gibt´s ja heute bei Aktien eh´ nicht mehr: Es gibt nichts, dass nicht schon so weit gelaufen waere, dass es nicht noch weiter laufen koennte - mir tut Warren Buffett (keine Gewaehr fuer richtige Schreibweise ) leid - Value Investing ist sinnlos, wenn man Gewinne machen will.
Ich habe am Freitag trotzdem nochmal 10% meiner INSP fuer >280 verkauft, so dass ich jetzt noch exakt die Haelfte meiner Ursprungsstueckzahl habe. Ich denke, damit macht man nichts falsch. Wenn sie sich jetzt nochmal verdrei- oder vermehrfacht, bin ich noch gut dabei, wenn nicht, dann laufen die dafuer gekauften Werte hoffentlich halbwegs gut.
Die von rooky oben angesprochene Sybase (SYBS) ist zum Beispiel auch m.E. sehr interessant...die haben sogar noch ein echtes KGV von unter 30 und wenn ich dann an die beiden letzten Quartale denke, in denen die Analystenerwartungen deutlichst getoppt wurden, dann kann man das vermutlich sogar noch unter 20 runterrechnen.
