Woher beziehst Du Deine Infos?

+++ Rendite-Perle Copel: KGV 2.2 und Dividendenrendite von 14%! +++
Gesellschaft erzielt schon seit 1994 ununterbrochen Gewinne.
notiert in New York aktuell bei USD 2.
ordern.

Ansonsten, Forza Brasil.

Brazilian Power Cos` 1Q Earnings Seen Turning Corner
Thursday May 15, 1:07 pm ET
By Adriana Brasileiro, Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
RIO DE JANEIRO (Dow Jones)--A rebound in the real likely helped ease foreign exchange-related losses in Brazilian power companies` earnings in the first quarter.
Brazil`s real gained 5.6% against the U.S. dollar between January and March, after the local currency weakened 35% in 2002.
"The real certainly started to help power companies in the first quarter, although gains will still be modest," said utilities analyst Aline Cardoso of Brascan bank in Rio de Janeiro. "We`ll see a bigger influence of positive forex situation in the second quarter if the real remains at current levels."
The sector`s 2002 earnings were frightening as companies unveiled their heaviest losses since the government started the privatization program in 1997. A sharp drop in consumption after a rationing program in 2001 and dollar- linked debts have done much to hurt the bottom line. The 20% rationing plan changed consumer habits and is still having an effect on companies` power sales to this day.
Financial consultancy Economatica estimated losses of more than 10 billion reals ($1=BRL2.89) last year. Many of the losses coming in the second half of the year as foreign exchange losses mounted. State-owned power generator Companhia Energetica de Sao Paulo , or Cesp, headed the list, reporting a net loss of BRL3.4 billion for the full year.
But a Dow Jones Newswires survey of three analysts indicates most leading power companies, which are expected to release first-quarter earnings later Thursday, moved back into the black in the first quarter as finances improve.
Sao Paulo power distributor Eletropaulo Metropolitana is seen posting a profit of BRL31 million in the January to March period compared with a loss of BRL14.4 million in the first quarter of 2002.
Eletropaulo, Brazil`s largest power distributor, reported a 2002 loss of BRL871.1 million compared with a net profit of BRL567.4 million the year before, as foreign exchange losses, lower consumption and significant provisions took their toll. The company`s net debt also expanded to BRL4.8 billion from BRL3.7 billion in 2001. Last week, Brazil`s state development bank announced it would assume control of the company and attempt to sell it to another bidder after its owner, U.S.-based AES Corp. (NYSE:AES - News) , fell behind on debt payments.
Integrated power company Companhia Energetica de Minas Gerais (E.EMG), or Cemig, is seen posting a net profit of BRL103 million, with estimates ranging from BRL39 million to BRL162 million. This compares with a net profit of BRL220 million in the first quarter of last year.
The expected drop in this year`s first quarter from the like 2002 period reflects lower energy sales after Cemig lost a large industrial client in the fourth quarter. But a stronger real likely helped the company`s finances given its BRL2.0 billion in dollar-linked debt.
Sao Paulo state-owned utility Cesp is expected to benefit from a stronger real but not enough to lift its earnings out of the red. Market estimates point to a net loss of BRL90.4 million in the first quarter, down from a net profit of BRL12.2 million in the same period in 2002. Estimates ranged from losses of BRL95 million to BRL85.2 million.
The debt-ridden company is struggling with a total debt of $3.6 billion. The generator last month just made it in negotiations to reschedule $150 million in notes, which carried an early repayment option for May 9.
However, other payments loom in the near future, and Cesp is expected to continue to ask investors for more time to pay its debts.
Rio de Janeiro power distributor Light Servicos de Eletricidade is seen posting a net profit of BRL28.3 million, slightly higher than the BRL23.6 million profit in the year-earlier period. Estimates ranged from BRL25.2 million to BRL30.3 million.
Light, which is controlled by French state-owned Electricite de France , has gradually reduced its dollar-denominated debt, easing its exposure to foreign exchange losses.
A first-quarter profit will likely come as a relief to Light after lower electricity usage and large provisions led the utility to a sizable loss of BRL1.256 billion for the full year in 2002, compared with a loss of BRL951.4 million a year earlier.
Companhia Paranaense de Energia , or Copel, an integrated power company serving the southern state of Parana, has also profited from a stronger real which likely lowered its BRL1.1 billion in dollar-denominated debt. Analysts expect the company to post a net profit of BRL24.8 million, although some analysts warn of a small loss owing to higher cost of electricity purchases.
A big exception in the sector is Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras, Brazil`s federal electricity holding. It`s expected to post significant financial expenses owing to the real`s recent strength. The company, which acts as a financing agent for the power sector here, has around $3 billion in dollar- denominated receivables.
Estimates for the company were nowhere near a consensus, with some analysts betting on a profit of BRL624.9 million while other sees the holding posting a loss of BRL74 million in the January to March period. In the same quarter in 2002, the company reported a profit of BRL298 million.
