das lustige bei den heavy leuten ist, wenn man die musikspur mal weglässt, hat man 1a operngesang.

Iguana, bei der beeindruckenden Hear’n’Aid Allstar-Band, die du entdeckt hast, war ja auch Yngwie Malmsteen kurz zu sehen. Klar, dass ich der Versuchung nicht widerstehen konnte, nach der „Libelle“ zu suchen, die ich damals (in den grauen Zeiten vor YouTube ) nur mit winzigkleiner Hörprobe bringen konnte.

Und wenn ich zitieren darf was du über die Stimme von David Coverdale gesagt hast – für diesen und die weiteren Clips gebe ich meine Seele auf ….. bzw. zuerst mal nur den Vorsatz, mich bei den Lyrics nicht zu wiederholen …

youtube ist die beste erfindung seit dem elektrischen garagentor.
sogar die kurzlebige punksumpfblüte cherry vanilla gibt es.
diesen auftritt im musikladen ende der 70er habe ich seitdem nicht mehr gesehen, aber die platte rauf und runtergenudelt.

...hier noch eine nette beschreibung der band, die ich bei amazon entdeckt habe(achtung @hawkie – aufgepasst)...:
Ich kenne sonst nur noch eine andere Gruppe, die es geschafft hat, mit sparsamen musikalischen Mitteln und einigen elektronischen Geräten, so eine spannende und mitreißende Musik hinzulegen. Ich hoffe, Archive halten auch so lange durch, wie die Gruppe "Hawkwind". Die Musik von Archive hat den nötigen Groove, um auch mal den ganzen Body in Bewegung zu bringen. Aber auch unter dem Kopfhörer reißt einem die Musik so mit, dass man schnell in einen tranceartigen Zustand versetzt wird.

bei dem rock am ring auftritt warst du?

war echt eine denkwürdige sache - mit einigen der dort schon am nachmittag aufgetretenen bands hast du bald darauf schon stadien füllen können - ich sage nur U2, Marillion, Saga, Westernhagen...
oder sogar unter ferner liefen wie Mink DeVille oder Joe Cocker.
und einige meiner amerikanischen mainstream-helden konnte man da sehen, die sonst kaum nach europa gekommen sind - Night Ranger waren der knaller um 12 uhr mittags mit den beiden supergitarristen Brad Gillis/Jeff Watson und ihrem singenden drummer...
nicht zu vergessen REO Speedwagon, Huey Lewis & The News und vor allem der headlinerausklang des abends mit Foreigner...


...wenn man diesen song mit durchschnittsmainstreamrock vergleicht - die rafinesse des gitarrensolos macht den unterschied...:

...also David bringt es echt immer wieder - und dass mich diese performance so packt, erstaunt mich schon arg, da ich normalerweise kein freund der unplugged varianten bin...
also wenn ich so singen könnte - ich würde meine seele jedem dahergelaufenen teufel verpfänden, wenn er das mit meinen stimmbändern
