Erdene’s mission is to identify and develop unique opportunities that will create maximum value for our shareholders. We have identified strategic projects that we are advancing toward development. Each project hosts a specific commodity with strong, long-term market fundamentals including coal, molybdenum & metals and industrial minerals. Erdene is well financed to advance the Company’s key projects through to 2011.

      Erdenes Projekte:

Erdene has identified three strategic projects to advance toward development. Each project hosts a specific commodity with strong, long-term market fundamentals:

      DONKIN - Coal

Erdene has a 25% ownership of the Donkin coal project in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Together with our partner Xstrata Coal (75% ownership) the Donkin Coal Alliance is currently working on a $20 million feasibility study which is anticipated to be completed in the first half of 2009. The Harbour seam, with an Indicated Resource of 101Mt and an Inferred Resource of 115Mt, has been targeted for initial development. The Donkin coal is classified as high volatile A bituminous, high-sulphur, medium-ash coal and is considered to have very good thermal and metallurgical qualities. Situated on tidewater, the project is ideally located to take advantage of local (2Mtpa) and international markets.
      ZUUN MOD - Molybdenum

The Zuun Mod molybdenum property is located in southwestern Mongolia, 200km from railhead at Ceke on the Chinese border. An independent resource estimate has determined that the Zuun Mod deposit has a Measured and Indicated Resource of 237Mt at an average grade of 0.052% molybdenum (0.04% Mo cut off). This equates to 272 million pounds of contained Mo metal. A revised resource estimate is anticipated in the first half of 2009. In 2009, Erdene will advance the project towards a mining license and carry out economic evaluations of the project, focusing on higher grade portions of the deposit, taking into account current and projected market conditions for molybdenum.
      GRANITE HILL - Construction Aggregate

Granite Hill is Erdene’s construction aggregate (crushed stone) property, located in Georgia, U.S. The Granite Hill project is being developed as a construction aggregate quarry primarily to serve the growing Florida and costal South Carolina and Georgia markets. Granite Hill is adjacent to rail and mine permitting is complete. Ready Mix USA, LLC has been granted an exclusive right to mine, process, and sell aggregate from the Granite Hill property subject to a royalty payable to Erdene. Granite Hill has a targeted production rate of 1.5Mt of granite aggregate per annum.

Three Coal Investments and a Sector on Fire
      by: Doug Hadfield September 01, 2009 | about: CIEGF.PK / CNX / ERDCF.PK / GXSFF.PK / KOL / PKOL / YZC

With recession fears fading into the past in Asia and growth increasingly back on track in the West, global energy demand is again surging. It's no big surprise that oil is again making a run for triple digits; it's the other black gold that could yet steal the spotlight for resource investors. Not only was China taken by surprise by this renewed surge for coal demand, the whole region including Japan and Australia seems to have been caught unawares. Coal recently was shipped to China from the US, the first such transaction in five years. Add to this Mongolia's recent changes to mining law, and you have a cocktail for excellent investing opportunities.

A drop in domestic output now has China importing more coal--at the highest prices in over a year. Since the recession hit in earnest in August 2008 (a full year after the sub-prime mortgage sector blew up) coal prices globally have taken a beating, right back to where they were in early 2007.

Average Weekly Coal Commodity Spot Prices

The shift toward increased imports in China has particularly benefited the price of coking coal, used for steelmaking and much scarcer than thermal coal, which fires power plants. The strength of Chinese imports has "surprised coal miners Xstrata, BHP Billiton (BHP), Rio Tinto (RTP) and Anglo American (AAUK) that were braced for a protracted period of low prices because of low demand in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, the traditional buyers."
Sharply falling coal prices in late 2008 and early 2009 caused China to put several high-cost mines on ice. This coincided with a crackdown by Beijing on smaller, more dangerous mines. Domestic supplies were cut, and import demand rose.

According to MySteel.net, China exported 11.67 million tonnes of coal with a total value of USD 1.43 billion in the first half of 2009, down by about 50% since 2008. In the same period, China imported 48.26 million tonnes of coal worth USD $3.94 billion, an increase of 130 percent in tonnage and 180% in value. The average import price went up by 22.3% to USD $81.6 per tonne.

The tightness of the market was illustrated recently by US coal sales to China, the first in five years. In addition to Consol Energy Inc.'s (CNX) recent sales, several ships have been hired to haul US coal to China.

In the meantime, China, India and other countries in the region are scrambling to acquire large projects to feed future demand, which is expected to increase sharply as energy demands outpace supply capacity.

Yanzhou Coal Mining Co. (YZC), listed in Hong Kong, New York and Shanghai has tripled from $4 per share to $12 this year, and climbed again last week after Felix Resources Ltd. recommended its shareholders accept a USD$3 billion takeover offer from Yanzhou--China’s fourth-biggest coal producer. Felix produces both coking coal and thermal coal from mines in New South Wales and Queensland.

The great commodities (and China) bull, Jim Rogers sees the situation clearly: ""There's a crisis coming. They are going around the world buying up what they can." Rogers is the Chairman of Rogers Holdings and the author of books including Investment Biker and Adventure Capitalist. He moved to Singapore in 2007 to be close to the groundbreaking Asian markets. He invests heavily in China.
(A eerily prescient aside about Rogers: In September 2007, a full three months before the Great Recession officially began, Rogers told the NY Sun, "We're in a recession right now, especially in housing, automobiles, and some financial sectors." He explained that it is unusual not to have a recession in a five-year period and attributed the prolonged bull run to money printing by the Federal Reserve, both Ben Bernanke, and his predecessor, Alan Greenspan. "If we keep printing money, the Dow will go to 30,000, but the dollar and stock market will eventually collapse," he said. "Stocks don't ever go up forever.")
In India, demand for coal is expected to reach around 2.5 billion tonnes a year by 2031-32, around five times the current rate of extraction, with most of it coming from the power sector. India's International Coal Ventures, a consortium of coal producers set up to secure assets outside of India, said this month that it plans to bid for concessions in the East Bargo area of Australia.

In August, Indian state-run power producer NTPC said it had appointed Macquarie as consultant for acquiring coal mines in Indonesia. IBT Commodities has reported that the Indian firm JSW Energy is close to finalizing a coal-supply linkage pact in Indonesia. The company is also exploring options of acquiring coal mines in South Africa and Australia, to secure coal supplies for its forthcoming power projects. Elsewhwere, TATA Steel is scouting for coking coal and iron ore mines abroad, including in Brazil and Australia, to ensure raw material security for its European operations.

In contrast with India, Chinese coal producers are dealing with more stark realities of demand growth and limited supply. China is home to 1.3 billion people and has the world’s fastest-growing economy, which relies upon coal for 80% of its energy needs. Compounding scarcity in China is the generally poorer quality of coal in existing Chinese deposits. And in spite of recessionary cutbacks in coal and manufacturing exports in general, China remains the world’s largest coal producer, as well as its largest consumer, accounting for a quarter of the world's coal consumption. It's for this reason that Rogers so correctly argues that there is a crisis coming. China is meeting demand today, barely, but with shortfalls expected to increase annually, any acquisitions completed today will barely cover tomorrow.

      A few companies we like:

CIC Energy (CIEGF.PK) could soon benefit from Chinese hunger for coal. In Africa, the Chinese sponsored China-Africa Development Fund has a $5 billion purse at its disposal to assist African companies with equity investment, fund investment, quasi-equity and consulting services. CADF's Liu Xiaolei has previously held talks regarding a potential investment in CIC Energy's $3 billion Mmamabula Energy Project in Botswana. CIC Energy's plans involve a 6 million tonne per year coal mine (initial run-of-mine feed plan), which would in turn feed the company's planned 1,200 megawatt coal-fired power plant.

Prior to getting the go ahead on an offtake agreement from Eskom, which provides 95% of South Africa's power, CIC Energy will have to be able to prove it has funding for the project. Meanwhile, funding shortages have meant that Eskom's funding model will remain uncertain until the end of September.

CIC Energy does anticipate that additional equity investors will participate in the Mmamabula Energy Project. To date, International Power Plc, intends to take a 35% equity stake in the Mmamabula Energy Project (Press release July 27, 2009).

Although signals continue to indicate that the company is progressing in finding the necessary funds for the project, investors have kept cool about CIC. Prior to the market crash late in 2008, the company traded between $7 and $17 per share for over 18 months. CIC Energy has approximately 50 million shares outstanding and trades at $2.20 on the TSX.

The company's plans to build a coal-fired generating station and sell power to both Botswana and South Africa comprise a sound business model. Both countries forecast strong growth in energy requirements; South Africa is already struggling to meet demand with brownouts occurring regularly. With a 43-101 compliant resource of more than 2.6 billion tonnes of thermal coal, mostly in the measured category, the company could fire its planned power plant for 43 years.

A second plan involves a coal-to-hydrocarbons plant, with commercial operations envisaged in 2015. CIC also has long term plans to rail coal from the continent to overseas purchasers such as China.

Goldsource Mines (GXSFF.PK) in 2008 sent a buzz through the investing world with a stock that shot from $0.30 to about $19 per share before getting hosed down by a combination of recession and surprising drill results. While drilling for diamonds in eastern Saskatchewan, the company happened upon a 30 metre coal intercept that overnight changed Goldsource into a coal company and the region into a hub of exploration activity. This month, Goldsource completed the final eight holes of the summer phase of drilling at its wholly-owned Border Project Border, located near Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, Canada.

The drilling encountered 23 to 50 metre coal intercepts.

A total of twenty core holes, totaling approximately 3,267 metres, were drilled during the summer programme. The most significant coal intervals occurred in the Niska sub-basin. All holes drilled in this phase were designed to test new targets outside the original discovery area.

The company said that drilling to date has discovered 15 coal deposits at Border with excellent potential for additional coal discoveries. Each is a coal deposit in its own right, some measuring greater than a kilometer across.

Goldsource maintains that Border has the potential to be a world class mine and is targeting 500 million to 1 billion tonnes high quality thermal coal (low ash<15%, moderate sulphur <2%, high BTU's >9,000). The company remains conservative with all its numbers: The initial reports in 2008 caused a wave of speculation and elevated the stock price well beyond expectations. That said, if Goldsource was able to raise $18 million at $11.75 per share in difficult times (June 27, 2008!), I'm comfortable its present price.

While the Border project is young, the company is toying with several options, including producing high quality thermal coal for export and coal liquefaction. Additionally, the coal mined would be of a higher quality than that produced in the south of Saskatchwan, and could therefore be sold to power producers in the province and neighboring provinces and states with coal burning power generators.

Other aspects of Goldsource that should be attractive to investors:

      * Undiluted stock, with 19 million shares out.
      * Cash in the bank: The company raised $18 million when the market cap was higher.
      * Management: The management team is in the process of putting a gold-silver mine into production in Mexico (SilverCrest Mines). They know what they're doing. We've watched them raise funds favorably on more than one occasion. They follow through.
      * Excellent infrastructure: Deposit adjacent to railway, highway and service communities.
      * Government support: We have spoken with the mayor of the nearby town of Hudson Bay. She was effusive about the project.
      * Aggressive exploration: The company planned $5 - $6M winter drill hole program (commenced Q1-2009) - COMPLETE; Targeting 2009 NI 43-101 Technical Report and preliminary scoping study.
      * Room for expansion: The project is less than 10% explored; the company has consistently expanded the resource since discovery & owns more land in the region.

Now that the company has a clearer idea of the nature of this deposit, it is proceeding with completing a scoping study and initial resource estimate for the Border project, along with additional drilling in the area and at the Ballantyne project.

Many resource companies (and investors) celebrated last week as Mongolia's new government made sensible changes permitting projects to move ahead, pumping new energy into public companies operating in that country. With these events, some coal companies have seen large gains in their respective stock markets; many have not yet realized gains.

Erdene Resource Development Corp. (ERDCF.PK), which has both coal and copper/moly projects in the region, was more than a little excited to get the news that Mongolia's legislature had repealed its windfall tax on copper and gold. Erdene has two projects with resource estimates in Mongolia, the Zuun Mod, with resource of 230 million pounds moly and another 245 million pounds copper in inferred, indicated and measured categories.

Report on Business wrote last week:

The hefty tax contributed to protracted negotiations for an investment agreement as Ivanhoe and Rio balked at the proposed levy.

Yesterday, under pressure from Mongolia's financially struggling citizens who are reportedly 80-per-cent in favour of allowing the Oyu Tolgoi project to proceed, many of those same legislators voted to cancel the windfall profits tax by 2011. Mongolia will take a 34-per-cent share in the project, well below the 50-per-cent stake that some legislators had recently been seeking.

Ivanhoe advanced by almost $2.50 per share to $11.85 on Thursday. By close on Friday, its shares on the TSX had reached $12.25.

Long-delayed projects have been getting the green light in a number of developing countries amid the economic downturn. In April, Argentina and Chile agreed on a tax structure that gave Toronto gold giant Barrick Gold Corp. permission to build the massive Pascua-Lama project that had been in limbo for years.

Erdene also has the Donkin Coal deposit in Mongolia, with almost 500 million tonnes coal in the inferred and indicated categories.

Spot prices for coking coal surged last week to $160 a tonne, up almost 40% in the last three months and the highest in 12 months. Bank of America-Merrill Lynch recently raised its forecast for coking coal annual contract prices to $140 a tonne next year, up from $129 this year. Thermal coal spot prices have risen too, trading at $75 a tonne, up 25% from March’s low of $60 a tonne.

Erdene's deposit is ranked primarily in the latter category.

The company's CFO, Kenneth MacDonald told me that China would probably be the company's main buyer, should a mine be built. "We're about 175 kilometers by rail from China's steel industry," he told me. "Now that the windfall tax has been repealed and three other laws have been ammended, it looks to us like they're listening now."

For Erdene, the timing couldn't have been better. The company still had $16.3 million in the bank in August, and its new 43-101 report on Zuun Mod signified an almost 40% increase in the value of the metals in the ground.

"Molybdenum has doubled in the last few months. Copper is at an annual high. The coal industry is as strong as ever. Now we're looking for a major partner, possibly a mining company or a customer," MacDonald told resourceINTELLIGENCE TV.

Thermal coal is still well below last year’s record of more than $180 a tonne, but the pressure could be growing.

Erdene Comments on Mongolian Parliament's Amendments to Mining Laws

August 26, 2009 - Halifax, Nova Scotia - Erdene Resource Development (TSX:ERD) commented today on the Mongolian Parliament's approval of amendments to four mining laws in the country. The amendments include a provision to cancel the 68% windfall profits tax and changes to other laws aimed to benefit the country's mining industry.

"Erdene made a long term commitment to Mongolia because of its combination of world class deposits, high prospectivity for mineral discovery and strategic location relative to China," said Peter Akerley, President and CEO. "The amendments announced yesterday have reinforced our belief that the country provides one of the most attractive locations globally for investment in the mineral exploration sector. Our company will now be accelerating our efforts on all fronts in Mongolia."

      Mongolian Project Summaries and Updates

      Zuun Mod Molybdenum Project

Located in southwestern Mongolia, Erdene's wholly owned Zuun Mod project is a porphyry molybdenum ("Mo") (with copper and rhenium) deposit and consists of a single license totaling 49,538 hectares. The project is within 180 kilometres of China's border and 215 kilometres from the railhead transporting metallurgical and thermal coal into China from the Ovoot Tolgoi and Nariin Sukhait coal mines.

Last week, Erdene reported a National Instrument 43-101 measured and indicated resource of 134 million pounds of Mo at 0.062% Mo and an inferred resource of 97 million pounds of Mo at 0.060% Mo. The company is now advancing the project toward a mining licence application and prefeasibility through its consultants, AMC and Minarco-Mineconsult.

      Erdenet Copper Project

The Erdenet Copper Project is located in north-central Mongolia adjacent to the Erdenet Mining Corporation copper/molybdenum mine, which is the second largest porphyry copper deposit in Central Asia and one of the largest in the world.. In the fourth quarter of 2009, Erdene is planning a drilling program on the Tsagaan Chuluut target located four kilometres northwest of the EMC open pit. The company's drilling results have indicated the extension of both near surface oxide and deeper sulfide porphyry copper mineralization.

      Xstrata Coal Alliance

Together with Xstrata Coal Canada Limited ("Xstrata"), Erdene is involved in a comprehensive coal generative program that evaluates numerous prospective metallurgical and high quality thermal coal deposits throughout Mongolia.

All of Erdene's coal exploration in Mongolia is being fully funded by Xstrata and is being carried out in consultation with Xstrata personnel. Since 2006, the Company has visited over two hundred coal sites throughout Mongolia under the Strategic Alliance Agreement with Xstrata and has compiled an extensive database on coal deposits, occurrences, prospective stratigraphy and sedimentary basins, allowing for a prioritization of targets. During the second quarter, Erdene performed due-diligence work on behalf of the alliance and was granted new coal exploration licences and began the fieldwork portion of the 2009 exploration season.

      Regional Cu-Au-Mo Porphyry Exploration

Erdene has been carrying out a regional porphyry exploration program for the past 12 months in an effort to identify targets for acquisition and exploration. The exploration efforts have been successful and will now be accelerated to the acquisition stage.

Erdene Receives Updated NI 43-101 Compliant Resource Estimate for the Zuun Mod Molybdenum Project

Measured and Indicated Resources of 134 million pounds of Mo at 0.062% Mo and an Inferred Resource of 97 million pounds of Mo at 0.060% Mo

August 19, 2009 - Halifax, Nova Scotia - Erdene Resource Development (TSX:ERD) today announced it has updated its National Instrument 43-101 ("NI 43-101") compliant resource estimate for the Company's Zuun Mod Molybdenum Project in Mongolia. The new resource estimate was prepared by Minarco-MineConsult, part of Runge Limited.

"Our goal for Zuun Mod was to expand on resources in the range of 0.06% Mo and to better define higher grade domains within the deposit for the initial mining phases." said Peter Akerley, President and CEO. "We have achieved this with a significant increase in total resource for that grade range and also defining a higher grade domain within the South and North Racetrack deposits continuing to indicate the deposit is one of the largest and most advanced pre-development molybdenum projects in the North Asia region".

The Zuun Mod molybdenum deposit has a Measured and Indicated ("M&I") Resource of 98 million metric tonnes ("Mt") at an average grade of 0.062% molybdenum ("Mo"), at a cut-off grade ("cog") of 0.05% Mo equating to 133.8 million pounds ("Mlbs") of contained Mo metal. In addition, there is a 73 Mt Inferred Resource at an average grade of 0.060% Mo equating to a further 97.1 Mlbs of contained Mo metal. The resource identified two higher grade zones within the South and North Racetrack deposits, which contain 95% of the M&I Resource at the higher 0.06% Mo cut-off which totals 44 Mt and averages 0.071% Mo.

Located in south-western Mongolia, Erdene's wholly owned Zuun Mod property is within 180 kilometres of China's border. The project is 215 kilometres from the railhead transporting metallurgical and thermal coal into China from the Ovoot Tolgoi and Nariin Sukhait coal mines.

While exploration to date has identified significant Mo, copper ("Cu") and rhenium ("Re") mineralization at Zuun Mod, the work has been primarily focused within the South Corridor, a NE-SW trending structurally controlled zone approximately 3.6 kilometres long by 800 metres wide. The remainder of the Zuun Mod porphyry complex has undergone only limited exploration consisting of surface survey and widely spaced drill holes. These programs have identified significant anomalous mineralization and the entire Zuun Mod property is considered to be highly prospective for the discovery of additional potentially economic Cu and Mo mineralization.

      Resource Estimate
Minarco-MineConsult, part of Runge Limited, has prepared the Zuun Mod mineral resource estimate and will file a Technical Report, as an independent technical review of the geological model, methodologies and the resource estimate for the Zuun Mod project consistent with Canada's National Instrument 43-101, Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects. The table below provides a summary of the Mo, Cu and Re mineralization for the Zuun Mod deposit by mineral resource category using a range of cut-off grades.

      Resource Estimate Discussion
The objectives for the program were to add tonnage at the 0.06% Mo range and firm up a higher grade zone.

Compared with the inaugural Zuun Mod resource estimate of May 2008, the July 2009 resource estimate has seen a slight decrease (11%) in M&I Resource at a 0.05% Mo cut-off from 110 Mt to 98 Mt but a major (460%) increase in Inferred Resource from 13 Mt to 73 Mt. Both have seen a slight increase in grade to an average of 0.062% Mo overall, which met our drilling program objectives.
In addition, a higher grade zone has been identified within the South and North Racetracks deposits grading 0.07% Mo with 44 Mt M&I Resource and 29 Mt of Inferred Resource. The lower overall M&I Resource tonnage is due in part to the use of geological wireframes in the estimate. The previous Multi Indicator Kriging estimate was run predominantly unconstrained. The Measured Resource tonnage has decreased with a proportional increase in Indicated Resource. This is predominantly due to the slightly greater variability noticed in the recent 50 metre by 100 metre drill spacing and the inability of the current variography to clearly identify mineralization trends observed on site such as vein and mineralization orientation. The major increase in inferred resources is a result of additional resources being defined peripheral to the previous deposit limits, at depth and as a result of in-fill drilling.

Zuun Mod remains a relatively new discovery with significant room for expansion and further definition of higher grade zones reflected in these results based on a relatively small drill program.

      Future Plans
The company is currently completing field reconnaissance programs in the vicinity of the Zuun Mod deposit to determine prospectivity of several targets in the area. This information will provide necessary information to plan future drilling as well as provide definition of the eventual mining licence property boundaries.

AMC LLC an independent, Mongolian mining consulting company is lead consultant on the Company's preparation of necessary information for its mining licence application. This includes deposit composition and technical features, hyrdo-geology, mineral resources, mining conditions, environmental reporting and production of a scoping level report for submission to the Mongolian regulators for review of the application.

Minarco-Mineconsult with the completion of the new Zuun Mod resource estimate is now initiating a pit optimization and scheduling study to combine with the previously completed work under the Preliminary Assessment Study initiated in 2008. Following completion of this work in the 3rd quarter of this year it is anticipated that the information will be applied to determine fleet operating hours and numbers to create a financial model on which to base decisions on advancing the project to the prefeasibility level.

      Qualified Person
The Mineral Resource estimates was prepared under the supervision and based on information compiled by Philippe Baudry, who is an employee of Minarco-Mineconsult. Philippe Baudry is also a Qualified Person within the meaning of such term under NI 43-101 and a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (Membership No 3721). Philippe Baudry consents to the inclusion in this release of the matters based on his information in the form and context in which it appears. The grade model was prepared using Datamine and Surpac software, with a regular block model. Molybdenum (Mo) and copper (Cu) grades were estimated using ordinary kriging. Rhenium (Re) grades were estimated using a combination of ordinary kriging and regression based on the Mo grades. Geological data verification and QA/QC of the drill-hole results has been completed and is included in the NI 43-101 compliant Technical Report prepared by Minarco-MineConsult.

      Project Synopsis

The Donkin Coal Project is located on tidewater in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. The project is strategically positioned for the transport of the high quality Donkin coal to local markets and the growing market along the U.S. eastern seaboard and Europe. It is also located proximal to infrastructure, coal fired power plants and a marine transport coal loading facility, which allows transportation via rail to the international coal port within 60 kilometres of the Donkin Coal Project.

In April 2007, Erdene received a National Instrument 43-101 compliant resource for the Donkin Coal project from McElroy Bryan Geological Services. The report identified a 227Mt Indicated and 254Mt Inferred high volatile A bituminous coal with over 14,000 BTUs , high sulphur, low ash and low moisture. To view a copy of the resource report click here for the MBGS Report.

In November 2007, the DCA received an independent Preliminary Assessment Study (“PAS”) by Norwest Corporation’s (“Norwest”). The PAS was a study into the business case for a continuous miner development and longwall (“LW”) extraction coal mine at the Donkin project. The PAS’s base case scenario returned a net present value (NPV) for the project of US$194M (or US$49M for Erdene’s 25% interest) using a coal price of US$52/tonne. The proposed mine has a projected life of 30-plus years, producing approximately 108 million tonnes of run-of-mine coal. The initial target market for this product will be domestic and export thermal coal for power generation. To view a copy of the PAS report click here.

The Norwest PAS should be considered preliminary in nature based on the inclusion of inferred resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have the economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves. Until there is additional information to upgrade the inferred resources to a higher category, there can be no certainty that the preliminary assessment will be realized.

On October 29, 2008 an Environmental Assessment report for the Program was registered with the Province of Nova Scotia’s Environment Department. On December 18, 2008 the Minister of Environment released a decision approving the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditions. All of the related project documents can be viewed on the Nova Scotia Department of the Environment’s website by clicking here.

108 Mio.? - In einer, ersten Mine!

Denn im NI 43-101 heißt es: The report identified a 227Mt Indicated and 254Mt Inferred high volatile A bituminous coal with over 14,000 BTUs

US-$ (=52,6 Mio.C$).

      Project Synopsis

Located within 200 kilometres of China’s border in Mongolia’s Bayankhongor Province, the Zuun Mod porphyry complex measures 12 kilometres in circumference and hosts broad zones of molybdenum mineralization. In a three-kilometre long portion of the system, referred to as the South Corridor, Erdene identified three mineralized zones known as the Racetrack North (“RTN”), Racetrack South (“RTS”) and the Stockwork zones. Initial drilling of these zones intersected thick intervals of significant mineralization proximal to surface and open at depth.

In May 2008, Erdene established Zuun Mod as one of the largest and most advanced pre-development molybdenum projects in the north Asia region, by receiving an initial National Instrument 43-101 compliant resource for the project from Minarco MineConsult of Sydney Australia.
      Minarco MineConsult Resources Estimate Notes:
      Effective Date: May 2008.
Mineral Resource estimates are not precise calculations.
Estimates are rounded to appropriate significant figures.
Grade modelling using Datamine Regular Block Model
Mo grade modelling using Multi Indicator Kriging (MIK)
Cu grade modelling using Inverse Distance interpolation (ID)
Contained Metal Mo is indicative only for Mineral Resources.
Contained Metal for Ore Reserves will be less due to application of modifying factors.

Following the release of the resource estimate the 2008 drill program was designed to define localized zones of higher grade mineralization, particularly those nearer surface, and to revise the resource estimate accordingly. A total of 32 new holes were completed and eight holes were deepened, totaling 10,785 metres.

The 2008 program was successful in defining localized higher grade zones and enlarging the overall deposit, both vertically and laterally. The deposit was confirmed to extend to depths exceeding 500 metres over a minimum strike length of 1.7 kilometres while locally coming to within 22 metres of surface. Drilling confirmed several continuous intersections exceeding 350 metres of 0.06% Mo and multiple high grade zones exceeding 50 metres of 0.10% Mo. A map displaying the location of all holes drilled in 2008 and a summary of all results can be viewed by clicking here. Minarco is currently working to revise the May 2008 resource estimate by incorporating the 2008 drilling data.

      ● Measured and Indicated resource of 110 million

      ● Significant exploration potential for additional
      copper and molybdenum discoveries
      ● Revised resource estimate and economic
      evaluation underway

US$ bzw. 85 Mio. Can.$ wert!

Xstrata Coal Canada Increases Ownership in Erdene

      Posted by info On September - 16 - 2008

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, Sep 15, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) — Erdene Resource Development Corp. (”Erdene”) (CA:ERD: news, chart, profile) today announced it was notified that Xstrata Coal Canada (”Xstrata Coal”) has increased its ownership in the company to greater than 5% through the purchase of common shares in the open market.
As a result, Xstrata Coal retains certain rights per its Alliance Agreement with Erdene, including a first option to enter into a joint venture and earn a 75% interest in any coal opportunity in Mongolia identified by Erdene by funding all work through completion of a feasibility study. Erdene is currently conducting drill programs on three coal projects in Mongolia as part of the Erdene-Xstrata Alliance.

Alliance Agreement between Erdene and Xstrata Coal
On February 13, 2006, Erdene and Xstrata Coal entered into an agreement (”Alliance Agreement”) whereby Erdene granted Xstrata Coal certain rights, including a first option to enter into a joint venture and earn a 75% interest in any coal opportunity in Mongolia identified by Erdene by funding all work through completion of a feasibility study and by maintaining a minimum 5% equity position in Erdene. In addition, by maintaining the 5% equity interest Xstrata Coal have the right to name a nominee to Erdene’s board of directors and if Erdene elects to develop or pursue third party participation in any non-coal projects or properties in Mongolia or elsewhere, Xstrata Coal has a sixty-day right to review all supporting project information and determine whether it wishes to participate in the project prior to Erdene making the opportunity available to another party or developing the property itself. Concurrent with the execution of the Alliance Agreement, and through a subsequent financing Xstrata acquired 4,000,000 shares of Erdene. Following a private placement by Erdene in June of 2008, Xstrata’s interest in Erdene was diluted to less than five percent (5%).

      About Erdene Resource Development Corp.

      Schlußkurs 0,335! Tageshoch schon bei 0,36! :lick::lick:

      ERDENEs Erdenet Project
      Commodity: Copper (Molybdenum)
      Location: North-central Mongolia
Target: Extension of Erdenet Copper Mine
      Market: China and Asia
      Ownership: 100%

Erdene is currently concentrating its exploration efforts in the Tsagaan Chuluut area of the property located four kilometres northwest of the EMC open pit. The first of two planned drill holes has been completed and Erdene will be drilling the second hole in the second quarter of 2009.
      Project Synopsis

Erdenet is a highly prospective land package within a major copper porphyry district in northern Mongolia. Spanning 72 square-kilometres, the Erdenet property surrounds the Erdenet Mining Corporation copper/molybdenum mine, which is the second largest porphyry copper deposit in Central Asia and one of the largest in the world.

Erdene has carried out a staged exploration program for extensions of the copper-molybdenum mineralization on its Erdenet property. To date, the drilling results have indicated the extension of both near surface oxide and deeper sulfide porphyry copper mineralization.

Also die weitere Umgebung des Zuun-Mod-Projekts:

The Zuun Mod resource report can be viewed by clicking here.

      http://www.miningasiaonline.com/index.asp

      http://ww1.investorrelations.co.uk/polo/uploads/...Statement…

Falls jemand investieren will, immer mit bedacht und vorsicht... never all in!!!

      skidude ;-)

(...) Many resource companies (and investors) celebrated last week as Mongolia's new government made sensible changes permitting projects to move ahead, pumping new energy into public companies operating in that country.

"Now that the windfall tax has been repealed and three other laws have been ammended, it looks to us like they're listening now." :D

Immerhin geht es hier um "a 227Mt Indicated and 254Mt Inferred high volatile A bituminous coal with over 14,000 BTUs, high sulphur, low ash and low moisture."

Laut der "Independent Preliminary Assessment Study (“PAS”) by Norwest Corporation’s (“Norwest”)" wird hier "a net present value (NPV) for the project of US$194M (or US$49M for Erdene’s 25% interest) using a coal price of US$52/tonne" angesetzt.

US-$!

      Growth Strategy

Erdene’s goal is to identify unique opportunities that create value for our shareholders through the discovery and development of world-class resource projects that focus on high growth commodities in strategically located geographic regions.
      growth strategy

The following forms the basis of Erdene's strategy for project evaluation and acquisition. Opportunities are evaluated on the basis of the risks and rewards present by geographic region, commodity and stage of development:

      * Base metal, energy and industrial mineral project acquisition and discovery efforts are focused in regions that provide investors with maximum exposure to high growth markets, such as China and the United States, and in areas capable of hosting "World Class" ore bodies. This currently includes the Americas and Mongolia.
      * Precious metals exploration is focused in regions that provide the greatest potential for the discovery of multi-million ounce, bulk tonnage, open-pit mineable resources. This currently includes areas around the world where senior management have experience operating that have highly prospective geology but are relatively under-explored.
      * Erdene has selected commodities that management believes, over the long term, provide strong growth potential based on supply and demand forecasts. This currently includes molybdenum, copper, gold, coal, construction materials and specialty clay product.
      * We believe in establishing strong partnerships at the appropriate point in a project's development to strategically manage risk and provide access to the necessary capital required to advance a project to the production stage.
      * Erdene is focusing its exploration program on core commodities, including base and precious metals, which the Corporation has the expertise to advance from the exploration stage through development and thereby maximizing shareholder value. In addition, we have pursued strategic partnerships at the exploration stage for other commodities, including coal, where outside expertise is most beneficial to the exploration, development and marketing of these commodities.
      * Erdene carefully evaluates merger, acquisition, and restructuring opportunities. We maintain a continual and careful evaluation of opportunities globally to further our goal of identifying world-class resource opportunities. The company will only pursue initiatives that will enhance shareholder value.

Xstrata Coal: World > North America

      Detail label Value
      Location Canada North America
      Products Coal
      Employees 15
      Annual production capacity
Donkin is being considered as a 5mtpa underground Longwall operation. Markets are anticipated to be both domestic and export. The short shipping distances to the East Coast of the United States place Donkin in an ideal position to enter this expansive market.
      Description of Operation

The Xstrata Coal Donkin Exploration Project is based on the Donkin Peninsula in Nova Scotia, Canada. The Project is a joint venture between Xstrata Coal Canada (75%) and Erdene Gold (25%). The Project is managed by Xstrata Coal Donkin Management.

In December 2005 Xstrata Coal with then joint venture partners Kaoclay resources and Atlantic Green Energy Development limited were successful in securing a Special Licence from the Nova Scotia Government to examine the business case for the potential development of the Donkin Mine. Work commenced on evaluating the coal resource in March 2006 and is expected to take approximately 2 ½ years, after which a decision will be made to proceed or otherwise with the project.

Work on the project is proceeding smoothly, with the small workforce of contractors adhering to a very high standard of Health, Safety, Environmental and Community performance. With dewatering well underway, the primary goal is to safely access the Harbour Coal Seam located approximately 2km off shore and 130m below the Atlantic Ocean.

Using sound Health, Safety, Environmental and Community Planning practices, exploration and evaluation activates have commenced including dewatering existing tunnel entries, obtaining coal samples and developing geological and financial models.
      Brief History of the Operation

Initial development of the Donkin Coal Project was started by the Cape Breton Development Corporation in the late 1970’s. A series of offshore boreholes were drilled and in the early 1980’s work began on the driving of 2 access tunnels. These tunnels were completed in 1988 and are 3600m long and vary between 20% and 1% in grade.

Work on the project was suspended in 1989 due to a downturn in world coal markets and in 1992 a decision was made to seal the tunnels and allow them to flood with groundwater. In June 2006 the Donkin site and sealed access tunnels were purchased by the Xstrata Coal Alliance from the Cape Breton Development Corporation. The tunnels remained sealed until October 2006 when they were successfully re-opened and dewatering and remediation activities commenced on site.

If a decision was made to proceed with this project then it would be anticipated that a Longwall would be in production by 2011.

"As we mark a full year since the global economic events of late 2008, we find ourselves in a much improved environment in regards to raw material consumption and price outlook," said Peter Akerley, President and CEO. "We are currently witnessing a major upswing in interest in the commodities on which we have maintained our focus and now find ourselves in a strong position to advance the Donkin coal project to the first phase of production and move the Zuun Mod molybdenum project toward pre-feasibility. In addition to the global economic improvement, we have witnessed a positive change in the political environment in Mongolia with the signing of the investment agreement on the Oyu Tolgoi project. This has given us the confidence to accelerate our property acquisition program in Mongolia."

      Project Updates and Summaries

      Donkin Coal Project

Recent work at Donkin has focused on planning the implementation of the Continuous Miner Exploration Phase with tenders for all major equipment being received and under evaluation. Direct employment on the project to date has varied from six to 23 people and enabled 11 skilled mining people to return to Cape Breton. Six personnel remain on site to cover the necessary requirements for care and maintenance, including regular statutory inspections. A Community Liaison Committee was established early in the project and continues to provide the community with updates on the project. Investment by the joint venture partners to date is approximately $25 million. The Continuous Miner Exploration Phase will involve additional capital expenditure of approximately $50 million and result in the annual production of more than 250,000 tonnes of coal from the underground development work during the exploration program.

Discussions continue with key stakeholders regarding the sale of the coal production from the Continuous Miner Exploration Phase, a requirement of advancing the project. If the project is approved, it has the potential to reinvigorate the mining industry in Cape Breton. It will create approximately 50 direct jobs initially and, with approval to advance to the high productivity Longwall Mining Phase, 275 full-time positions at full production for a period projected to exceed 30 years. In addition, at least 1.5 indirect jobs are expected to be created for each full-time position. The project will require the expenditure of approximately $50 million initially and more than $350 million for the full longwall development in privately funded capital.

The Donkin exploration project is a 75:25 joint venture between Xstrata Coal Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary of Xstrata Coal, and Erdene. Located in Eastern Canada, the high energy Donkin coal resource includes 227 million metric tonnes ("Mt") of Indicated and 254Mt of Inferred high volatile-A bituminous (12,000 - 14,000 Btu), high sulphur, and medium ash coal. The project is located within 35 kilometres of a coal-fired electrical generating plant and a deep-water coal terminal facility. Markets are anticipated to be both domestic and export, and the relatively short shipping distances by water to the United States east coast and Europe places Donkin in an ideal position to enter this expanding market.

Work on the site has been underway for three years, starting with the reopening of the tunnels and site preparation for the dewatering and the tunnel rehabilitation work. The Donkin exploration project successfully reclaimed the 7,000 metre twin tunnels which included the pumping of 450 million litres of water from the tunnels which was managed and treated on site. The work also included testing the coal quality and gas regime through in-seam drilling.

      Zuun Mod Molybdenum Project

During the quarter, the company received an updated National Instrument 43-101 compliant resource estimate for the Zuun Mod molybdenum project. The deposit has a Measured (25Mt @ 0.061Mo) and Indicated (73Mt @ 0.062Mo) ("M&I") resource of 98 Mt at an average grade of 0.062% molybdenum ("Mo"), at a cut-off grade ("Cog") of 0.05% Mo equating to 133.8 million pounds ("Mlbs") of contained Mo metal. In addition, there is a 73 Mt Inferred resource at an average grade of 0.060% Mo equating to a further 97.1 Mlbs of contained Mo metal. The resource identified two higher grade zones within the South and North Racetrack deposits, which contain 95% of the M&I resource at the higher 0.06% Mo Cog which totals 44 Mt and averages 0.071% Mo. The company continues to evaluate options to secure a strategic partner. Runge (Minarco Mine-Consult) is currently completing preliminary pit design and scheduling based on the revised resource estimate to better define project economics.

In addition, the Company has signed contracts with two Mongolian consulting companies to assist with the application to convert the current Zuun Mod exploration license into a mining license. Under the Minerals Law of Mongolia, the initial term for a mining license is 30 years with an option for two 20-year extensions. The mining license application was filed late in the third quarter and Mineral Council experts appointed immediately thereafter. We expect the Mineral Council to review the application in the fourth quarter.

The Zuun Mod project is a porphyry molybdenum deposit (with copper and rhenium) and consists of a single license totalling 49,538 hectares. It is located in Bayankhongor Province approximately 950 kilometers southwest of Ulaanbaatar and 215 kilometers from railhead on the Mongolia-China border at Ceke. The railhead is located 20 kilometers south of the Nariin Sukhait and Ovoot Tolgoi coal mines.

Coal & Metals Projects in Mongolia

Erdene has made a long-term commitment to Mongolia owing to its highly prospective geology, its diversity of exploration targets and its location on the doorstep of China. Our management team was among the early mineral exploration entrants into the country and has since built up an extensive Mongolian knowledge base and network of contacts. The finalized Investment Agreement signed between the Mongolian Government and Ivanhoe Mines / Rio Tinto, for the Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold project, further confirms our belief that the country provides one of the most globally attractive locations for investment in the mineral exploration sector.

Over the past few years, political issues in Mongolia had caused us to maintain a cautious stance in regards to new opportunities; however, with the positive events of the past 60 days we have begun to act on opportunities generated during that period. Recently, Erdene has applied for five exploration licences totalling over 400,000 hectares and has plans to continue to increase our staking and acquisition activity. In Mongolia, Erdene is partnered with Xstrata Coal on a comprehensive coal generative and acquisition program. The Company has conducted numerous property evaluations for prospective metallurgical and high-quality thermal coal deposits. Xstrata Coal is fully funding the exploration programs through to completion of feasibility to earn a 75 per cent interest in the projects funded. In regards to our metals exploration program, in addition to Zuun Mod, Erdene is focused on porphyry style copper, gold and molybdenum prospects and have been very active in the evaluation of these during the past two years.

Sharing a border with Mongolia is China, the world's largest coal consumer. Estimates suggest that over the next 25 years, China will need to secure approximately six million tonnes of new coal production per month to meet demand. Coal-fired power plants are projected to satisfy approximately three quarters of China's total power generation requirements to 2030. A similar situation exists for metals with Chinese companies, many state funded, being very acquisitive for copper and molybdenum projects worldwide. Erdene continues to position itself to be a major participant in the mining industry of Mongolia.

      Advanced Primary Minerals

Erdene controls 65% of TSX-V listed (TSX VENTURE:APD - News) Advanced Primary Minerals ("APM"). During the third quarter, APM continued to produce kaolin products for its customers in the ceramics industry and continued product trials with potential customers. APM also completed the installation of process equipment in its new state-of-the-art kaolin processing facility in Dearing, Georgia. Subsequent to the end of the third quarter, APM held the grand opening of its primary kaolin processing plant which will enable APM to develop its high quality primary kaolin deposits and help the company with its goal of becoming North America's leading specialized kaolin producer.

Kaolin is used in the manufacture of value added products within a number of industries which include ceramics, paint and paper. As part of Erdene's business plan, APM was created as a dedicated vehicle for primary kaolin operations. APM is targeting value added products that benefit from the unique attributes of APM's high quality primary kaolin resource under a two phase development program.

      Granite Hill Construction Material Project

Erdene's Granite Hill project is a former producing granite aggregate quarry in central Georgia. The Company owns the 342-acre property which holds in excess of a 120 million-ton resource and is situated on an existing rail line. Through a lease with Erdene, Ready Mix USA ("RMU") holds an exclusive right to mine, process, and sell aggregate from the Granite Hill property. The sale of all aggregate from the property is subject to an industry competitive royalty payable to the Company.

RMU's quarry development plan provides for an estimated start-up production rate of one million tons of granite aggregate per year, with an initial design capacity of up to three million tons. Based on current production projections, the Granite Hill quarry will have an estimated lifespan in excess of 30 years. RMU has designed a quarry mining plan, processing plant and facilities, and has prepared an environmental impact plan. RMU has also acquired additional land adjacent to the Granite Hill property to secure rail access to the site. The construction phase is expected to be completed nine to twelve months after a production decision by RMU. All required operating permits have been received and during the third quarter, RMU began clearing the site and constructing access roads to the initial quarry site. RMU is responsible for fully funding the development and operating program.

Can-$!

:lick:

      11.06.2009 | 11:45 Uhr | Autor: Rainer Hahn

60 Mrd. USD Rohstoffinvestitionen in diesem Jahr
      20.11.2009 | 10:30 Uhr | Autor: Rainer Hahn
USD steigen. Bisher seien in diesem Jahr 55 Mrd. USD geflossen. Im Jahr 2006 wurde Rekord mit 51 Mrd. USD gesetzt.

US-$ wert.

      CCJ

Hm? War gestern in der Spitze mit 105 Mio. Can.$ bewertet!
Gut, mittlerweile sinds nur noch 78!
      What for?
30-50 (je nach Sichtweise) Mio. Tonnen Kohle im Südamerikanischen Dschungel in Bürgerkriegsgefährdeten Regionen beherrscht vom Schweizer Investmentvehikel eines russischen Großinvestors.
Details (auch positive) im zugehörigen Fred!
      Na ja, Geschmacks- u. Vertrauenssache!

      GXS

      Bewertung rd. 30 Mio.!

      - 245 Mio.Tonnen Kupfer (dto.)

Erdene Announces New Partner for its Granite Hill Aggregate Project Development Underway

Halifax, Nova Scotia - February 10th, 2010 - Erdene Resource Development Corp. ("Erdene") (TSX:ERD) today announced the completion of agreements that will result in a new development partner for the Corporation's Granite Hill construction aggregate project and an acceleration of the development of the project.

Through the acquisition of Ready-Mix USA and Aggregates USA, the operation of the Granite Hill Project will now be under the control of SPO Partners, a private California based investment company. SPO is the controlling shareholder of Plum Creek Timber Co. and is the third largest shareholder of Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. As a result of the acquisition, Aggregates USA (Sparta), LLC ("AUSA") is now party to the lease agreement with Erdene in the place of Ready-Mix USA. AUSA has advised Erdene that SPO is planning to make the Granite Hill project one of its top priority new developments. The Granite Hill site preparation has recently expanded from an area of approximately 19 acres for the pit to approximately 43 acres, which also includes the plant, compound, and rail access areas. Site development is underway and Erdene has been advised that projections are for mine development to begin by mid 2010 with production commencing late in 2011.

      Granite Hill Construction Aggregate Project

Erdene's Granite Hill project is a former producing granite aggregate quarry located in east-central Georgia. Erdene owns the 342-acre property which holds an estimated reserve of approximately 90 million tonnes situated on an existing rail line. Through a lease agreement with Erdene, AUSA holds an exclusive right to mine, process, and sell aggregate from the Granite Hill property. The sale of all aggregate from the property is subject to an industry-competitive royalty payable to Erdene.

AUSA's quarry development plan provides for an estimated start-up production rate of one million tons of granite aggregate per year, with an initial design capacity of up to three million tons. Based on current production projections, the Granite Hill quarry will have an estimated lifespan in excess of 30 years. AUSA has designed a quarry mining plan, processing plant and facilities, and has prepared an environmental impact plan. AUSA has also acquired additional land adjacent to the Granite Hill property to secure rail access to the site. The construction phase now underway is expected to be complete by mid to late 2011 when production is expected to commence. All required operating permits have been received. AUSA is in the process of clearing the site and access roads to the quarry are near completion. AUSA is responsible for fully funding the development and operating program.

      Construction Aggregate Market-Other Activities

Erdene continues to evaluate several opportunities in the construction aggregate sector in eastern Canada and the southeastern U.S. Erdene is positioning itself with projects in the Caribbean and in Atlantic Canada where tidewater prospects continue to have competitive advantages due to lower freight rates for shipping, versus the ever increasing rail and truck hauls faced by inland U.S. producers. The long term growth projections are positive given the U.S. economic stimulus package that is anchored in "rock and steel".

"HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, Feb 11, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Erdene Resource Development Corp. ("Erdene") /quotes/comstock/11t!erd (CA:ERD 0.32, -0.04, -10.00%) , is pleased to comment on the announcement made yesterday by Xstrata Coal with regard to the Donkin Coal Project. Xstrata has indicated that they will now be developing the project based on sales into the coking coal market. The revised Donkin Coal Project is expected to produce approximately 2.75 million tonnes per annum of washed export grade coking coal at full production, pending the receipt of all approvals. Xstrata is also looking to obtain expressions of interest from potential strategic partners to contribute to the project. The Donkin Coal Project is a joint venture between Xstrata Coal Donkin Limited, a subsidiary of Xstrata plc, (75%) and Erdene (25%). Located in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, proximal to deep water, adjacent to some of the worlds major shipping routes, the setting is ideal for seaborne shipping.

"Erdene is very pleased to hear of Xstrata's commitment to the Donkin project particularly their confidence in a shift into the coking coal market," said Peter Akerley, President and CEO of Erdene. "This decision is undoubtedly of significant interest and value to our investors but in addition to our responsibility to our investors, our goal is to be a significant partner in bringing a safe and efficient mining industry back to Cape Breton which has almost unrivalled coal resources on deep water and the people to make this a certainty."

      Market

Washed coking coal from the Cape Breton coal fields has historically been sold to the steel industry in Europe and North America. Demand for coking coal is expected to rise with the recovery in the steel market particularly in regards to China, India and other Pan-Asian countries. Additionally, Western world steel production is on the rise. U.S. steel utilization rates have increased to approximately 65% from recent 45% lows, and European steel mill production is also strengthening.

      Donkin Coal Project Background

Located in Eastern Canada, the high energy Donkin coal resource includes 227 million metric tonnes ("Mt") of Indicated and 254Mt of Inferred high volatile-A bituminous (12,000-14,000 Btu), high sulphur, and medium ash coal. The project is located within 35 kilometres of a coal-fired electrical generating plant and a deep-water coal terminal facility. The relatively short shipping distances by water to the United States east coast, Europe and Asia places Donkin in an ideal position to enter the expanding export coal markets.

Erdene Initiates Exploration on New Copper-Gold Discovery
Provides Update on Mongolian Coal and Metals Exploration Programs

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, Sep. 22, 2010 (Marketwire) -- Erdene Resource Development Corp. ("Erdene" or "Company") (TSX:ERD) today provided an update on its ongoing exploration programs for coal and metals in Mongolia.

      Highlights

-- New Copper-Gold Discovery - Detailed Nomin Exploration Program Initiated
-- Regional Coal Targets Being Tested - Zarman Coal Drilling Initiated
-- Galshar Coal Royalty - Xanadu Acquires Galshar Project
-- Zuun Mod Molybdenum-Copper Deposit - Scoping Study Level Work Underway
-- Zuun Mod Exploration - Geophysical Program Commences

      Nomin Copper-Gold Project

The Nomin Project is providing encouraging early stage copper-gold results and will be subject to more detailed exploration during the remainder of 2010. The Nomin prospect is a new discovery; however, previously undocumented ancient workings (shallow pits) have been found on the property. Samples from these pits returned an average of 2.2% copper and 1.7g/t gold from several samples taken over a strike length of 250 metres. The mineralization is hosted in Palaeozoic felsic volcanics and intrusives within the Southwest Gobi Island Arc Terrane. A sample from a second similar occurrence, 1.2 kilometres south-southwest of the main occurrence, returned assays of 1.6% copper and 1.15g/t gold. Magnetic and induced polarization (IP) dipole-dipole surveys are scheduled to commence in late September. Additional geological mapping and geochemical sampling will also be carried out over the area of these new copper-gold mineral occurrences in the next few months.

Erdene has been carrying out a two-year, detailed regional evaluation of a large area in south-western Mongolia evaluating the potential for porphyry related copper-gold-molybdenum mineralization. The 2010 metals exploration program is focused on evaluating newly acquired exploration licenses, follow-up of anomalous results from the 2009 regional exploration program and field evaluation of the expanded 2010 regional porphyry evaluation program. Multiple new targets have been generated to date and are receiving further work.

      Zarman Coal Project

Drilling of coal targets in the Zarman basin commenced September 14th with a planned eight-hole, 2,700 metre drill program designed to test an area 10 kilometres by 17 kilometres. The 2010 coal regional drilling program is focused on evaluating the potential of the Zarman basin in south-western Mongolia to host significant coal deposits. Work to date has identified coal bearing lithologies, over a strike length of 60 kilometres along the northern edge of the Zarman basin. A magnetic survey covering approximately 600 square kilometres was recently finished while a 44 line-kilometre seismic survey is nearing completion.

A budget of US$1.9 million is in place for 2010 coal exploration programs in Mongolia, which is fully funded by Xstrata Coal Canada Ltd. through the Erdene-Xstrata Coal Alliance. Xstrata Coal Canada Ltd. has the right to earn a 75% interest in any of Erdene's coal projects in Mongolia by fully funding the projects through to completion of a feasibility study.

      Galshar Coal Project

In late 2008, Erdene optioned the Galshar property to a private Mongolian company for cash consideration which was paid over the first two years of the option agreement, and a royalty interest from any coal mined from the property. Earlier this year, the Mongolian company transferred control of the Galshar project to a subsidiary of Xanadu Mines Limited ("Xanadu") of Australia. Xanadu has recently raised Aus$6.6 million from investors and announced that it plans to use part of these funds to drill the Galshar Coal Project to a JORC compliant resource estimate standard. Galshar hosts one main coal seam with an average thickness of 21 metres overlain by several thinner seams. There is potential for a large-scale open pit operation with a low stripping ratio. The resource is open to the north and east as well as potentially to the south. Xanadu is targeting 200 million tonnes of coal at Galshar, which is located 200 kilometres from the Chinese border and just 65 kilometres from an existing railway line. Power and unpaved road infrastructure is in place at Galshar.

      Zuun Mod Development Activities

Following the official registration of the Zuun Mod Resource by the Mongolian Minerals Resource Council in July, the Company accelerated its efforts in regard to exploration and development of the Zuun Mod project. In September, the Company continued to advance the project with the initiation of hydro-geological studies which will include a geophysical survey and a drilling program designed to confirm water resources in support of mine development. In addition, the Company's independent technical consultants, Minarco-MineConsult of Australia, conducted pit optimization and scheduling studies on the Zuun Mod deposit. The company is now reviewing financial models and markets on which to base decisions regarding the advancement of the project to the pre-feasibility stage.

Zuun Mod is a porphyry molybdenum-copper deposit containing 215 million pounds ("Mlbs") of molybdenum in the Measured and Indicated ("M&I") category, grading 0.054% Mo, and a further 208Mlbs in the Inferred category grading 0.051% Mo, making it one of the largest undeveloped molybdenum-copper deposits in the Asia region. Within this envelope of 0.05% Mo mineralization, are higher grade zones averaging approximately 0.07% Mo totalling 44Mlbs of molybdenum in the M&I category and 29Mlbs of molybdenum in the Inferred category.

Erdene controls the Zuun Mod deposit through a single exploration license totalling 49,538 hectares, located in Bayankhongor Province in Mongolia, approximately 950 kilometers southwest of Ulaanbaatar and 215 kilometers from railhead on the Mongolia-China border at Ceke. The railhead is located 20 kilometers south of the Nariin Sukhait and Ovoot Tolgoi coal mines.

      Zuun Mod Exploration

In early 2010, Erdene contracted Wave Geophysics, LLC to provide a model and interpretation of all geological, geochemical and geophysical data from the Zuun Mod project with a focus on identifying additional exploration targets in the vicinity of the Zuun Mod Mo-Cu deposit. This study was received during the second quarter. While the final results are still being evaluated, several new drill targets have been identified and preparations are underway to conduct a specialized geophysical induced polarization survey over the area to the southwest and along strike from the Zuun Mod deposit to test for possible extensions of mineralization in this area and to better define and prioritize drill targets. The planned survey will be carried out over 48 line-kilometres and will cover an area of approximately 21 square kilometres. This program is expected to start before the end of September.

Drilling Commences at Erdene's Zuun Mod Molybdenum Project, Program to Include Drilling of Khuvyn Khar Porphyry Copper Target

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, Nov. 2, 2010 (Marketwire) -- Erdene Resource Development Corp. ("Erdene" or "Company") (TSX:ERD) today announced that a 4000-metre drilling program will commence this week on molybdenum and copper targets on the Khuvyn Khar Licence, which will include extension and confirmation drilling of Erdene's 100% owned Zuun Mod molybdenum-copper deposit and drilling of untested porphyry copper geophysical targets.

      Zuun Mod Drilling

The Zuun Mod drill program is designed to more fully outline the molybdenum-copper resource in areas expected to be initially developed for mining and to expand resources in the higher grade zones in the North Racetrack deposit area. The information derived from this program will be used to define a more extensive prefeasibility drill program designed to upgrade the inferred resources to measured and indicated resource categories. The Zuun Mod deposit currently contains a National Instrument 43-101 compliant resource of 215 million pounds ("Mlbs") of molybdenum in the Measured and Indicated ("M&I") category, grading 0.054% Mo, and a further 208Mlbs in the Inferred category grading 0.051% Mo, making it one of the largest undeveloped molybdenum-copper deposits in the Asia region. Within this envelope of 0.05% Mo mineralization, are higher grade zones averaging approximately 0.07% Mo totalling 69Mlbs of molybdenum in the M&I category and 44Mlbs of molybdenum in the Inferred category with similar copper grades.

In the south-eastern portion of the North Racetrack Deposit, drilling will test areas adjacent to a target that previously returned 412 metres averaging 0.061% Mo and 0.067% Cu beginning at 38 metres. This hole remains open at depth and to the southeast and is untested for approximately 300 metres to the west. Two high-grade zones within this hole include a 66 metre intercept grading 0.10% Mo and 0.10% Cu beginning at 212 metres and a second 58 metre intercept starting at 338 metres that returned 0.12% Mo and 0.08% Cu. These two zones are within a 244 metre intercept from 206 to 450 metres (end of hole) that averaged 0.079% Mo and 0.076% Cu.

In addition to the drilling program, other Zuun Mod projects are underway including engineering studies, hyrdro-geologic drilling to identify the source for process water and a CSAMT (Controlled Source Audio-frequency Magnetotelluric) geophysical survey designed to test for resistive bodies under pediment in the Zuun Mod area. The Company's independent technical consultant, Minarco Mineconsult (Runge), is currently completing Stage II of a pit optimization study to assess various mine scheduling scenarios for a range of production profiles and molybdenum revenue rates. This study is expected to be completed in mid-December and will provide high level production scheduling, a review of operating and capital costs, and economic modelling.

Khuvyn Khar Copper Prospect Drilling (at Zuun Mod)

In 2003, two priority targets were identified on the Khuvyn Khar / Zuun Mod exploration license, one of which evolved into the Zuun Mod molybdenum-copper deposit as a result of exploration by Erdene in the period 2006 to 2009. The second area, the Khuvyn Khar copper target, is located 2.5 kilometres northwest of the Zuun Mod deposit in the northern portion of a 12 kilometre annular feature defined by alteration and geochemical anomalies and referred to as the Zuun Mod porphyry complex. This prospect has received only limited exploration to date. A recently completed study by Wave Geophysics of Colorado has identified several prospective areas that will be tested by drilling in the 4th quarter of 2010.

The Khuvyn Khar copper target measures approximately two kilometres in diameter and is defined by coincident geophysical and copper geochemical anomalies within a zone of moderate to intense porphyry copper-molybdenum related alteration. Previous drilling along the periphery of the newly defined chargeability anomalies has identified significant copper mineralization. Three of the four holes in the area intercepted low-grade copper values (0.1% to 0.2% Cu) associated with intense potassic alteration over intervals of 20 to 172 metres. One drill hole intersected a 12 metre interval that returned 0.30% Cu, 0.02% Mo and 2.2g/t Ag, coincident with the edge of the targeted chargeability anomaly. The Khuvyn Khar prospect remains untested below 250 metres depth and for over one kilometre north of this hole and approximately two kilometres to the southwest where the chargeability anomaly intensifies.

Qualität hat so was halt nicht nötig! :)

I´m the only One, or One off Millions. ;)

Hold the fort, in these issue!! -&your Account won´t resent it to you. ;)

Erdene Discovers New Copper Zone at Zuun Mod Project, Mongolia Khuvyn Khar Drilling Returns 34 Metres of 1.3% Copper

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 1, 2011) - Erdene Resource Development Corp. ("Erdene") (TSX:ERD) is pleased to announce a new copper discovery on its wholly owned Zuun Mod project in south-western Mongolia.

"We are very pleased by this new copper discovery located over two kilometres northwest of the existing Zuun Mod molybdenum/copper resource and look forward to the resumption of drilling in the near future," said Peter Akerley, President and CEO. "This intersection of significant copper mineralization further illustrates the potential for new discoveries within the large porphyry system at Zuun Mod."

As part of a recent drilling program at Zuun Mod, three vertical holes were completed in December 2010 to test geophysical and geochemical targets outside the area of the main molybdenum deposit. Drill hole ZMD-121, located approximately 2.2 kilometres northwest of the northern extent of the main molybdenum deposit, intersected a monzonite hosted breccia intruding a package of dacite and andesite porphyry. The monzonite hosted breccia zone returned 34 metres of 1.3% copper from 308 to 342 metres. This mineralized zone included a 10 metre section of 3.1% copper (maximum value for 2-metre samples was 4.1% copper). A drill rig remains on site and a follow-up program is now being designed for the resumption of drilling. Maps showing the location of drill hole ZMD-121 and photos of mineralized drill core are available on Erdene's website at www.erdene.com.

Khuvyn Khar Copper Prospect Drilling (at Zuun Mod)

Hole ZMD-121, drilled in the north-central portion of the Zuun Mod licence in a target area referred to as Khuvyn Khar (meaning Black Cirque), has intersected a new zone of greater than one percent copper. The copper zone was intersected at 308 metres depth coincident with both a dipole-dipole chargeability high and an RTP (reduced to pole) magnetic low geophysical signature. This geophysical anomaly is interpreted to reflect magnetite destructive alteration and metallic mineralization associated with a buried granodiorite-monzonite intrusive. The target area is also defined by surface geochemical molybdenum and copper anomalies. The remainder of the hole has elevated copper values averaging 781 ppm Cu from 5 metres to 308 metres (above the higher-grade zone) and 542 ppm Cu from 342 metres to end of hole at 378 metres (below the higher-grade zone). Analytical results have only been returned for copper and molybdenum with additional analysis for other metals now being completed. The Khuvyn Khar prospect remains untested below 378 metres depth (ZMD-121) and is open to the north and west. To the east, two holes have been previously drilled, ZMD-08 (450 metres to the east-northeast) which returned 0.10% Cu over 26 metres and KKMD-13 (800 metres to the southeast) which returned 152 metres of 0.16% Cu including 32 metres of 0.22% Cu.

Erdene controls the Zuun Mod deposit through a single exploration license totaling 30,650 hectares, located in Bayankhongor Province in Mongolia, approximately 950 kilometers southwest of Ulaanbaatar and 215 kilometers from railhead on the Mongolia-China border at Ceke. The railhead is located 20 kilometers south of the Nariin Sukhait and Ovoot Tolgoi coal mines in Southern Mongolia.

Erdene Reports Additional Results from Mongolian Copper Discovery

Includes 34 Metres of 9.24 g/t Silver with 1.3% Copper

Drill program to Commence in April

Halifax, Nova Scotia - March 4, 2011 - Erdene Resource Development Corp. ("Erdene") (TSX:ERD) is pleased to announce final analytical results for its new porphyry copper discovery on the wholly owned Zuun Mod project in south-western Mongolia.

"Our encouragement from the initial copper discovery reported February 1, 2011 strengthened considerably with confirmation that the previously reported 34 metre intersection of 1.3% copper also contains 9.24 g/t of silver", said Peter Akerley, President and CEO. "We believe the Zuun Mod complex has tremendous additional mineral potential and we eagerly await the results of an expanded drill program that will commence in early April."

As part of a recent exploratory drilling program at Zuun Mod, three vertical holes were completed to test geophysical and geochemical targets outside the area of the main molybdenum-copper deposit. Drill hole ZMD-121, located approximately 2.2 kilometres northwest of the main molybdenum deposit, intersected a monzonite hosted breccia intruding a package of dacite, rhyolite and andesite porphyry. The zone returned 34 metres of 1.3% copper and 9.24 g/t silver from 308 to 342 metres. This mineralized zone included a 10 metre section of 3.1% copper and 22.2 g/t silver (maximum value for 2-metre samples was 4.1% copper and 27 g/t silver). Details of the mineralized zone follow:

A drill rig remains on site and a follow-up program is being designed for the resumption of drilling of a significant geophysical target in the vicinity of the discovery hole in early April. Maps showing the location of drill hole ZMD-121 and photos of mineralized drill core are available on Erdene's website at www.erdene.com.

ZMD-121 intersected the northern margin of a large, buried chargeability anomaly. Although surface exposure is limited, a silicification zone has been mapped locally above this geophysical anomaly.

      http://www.erdene.com/projects40/galleryGreenfields/mapsPhot…
