The Directors intend to implement the following announcements subject
to compliance with the requirements of the ASX Listing Rules and the
Corporations Law.

1. The Company proposes to issue a "free" entitlement to Metex
shareholders of one (1) share Option for every five (5) fully paid
ordinary shares held by Metex shareholders registered as at the
entitlement date of closing 5.00 pm WST Monday 1st May 2000.

These options will be exercisable at 20 cents each and will expire on
or before 30 June 2004. This should result in approximately
15,771,814 new options being issued.

2. Subject to ratification by shareholders of the previous placement
of 10 million shares placed in December 1999, it is also proposed to
issue a total of 1,450,000 options exercisable at 20 cents per share
on or before 30 June 2004 to existing employees and contractors to
the Company for no consideration.

3. Subject to shareholder approval, it is also proposed to issue the
following options, exercisable at 20 cents per share on or before 30
June 2004, to the Directors of the Company for no consideration:

Mr I.W. Walker (Managing Director) 2,000,000 options
Mr M.D.J. Cozijn (Finance Director/Company Secretary) 2,000,000
options
Mr R.G. Bunning (Chairman) 1,000,000 options
Mr M.A. Blakeman (Director) 1,000,000 options
Mr K. Robinson (Director) 1,000,000 options

4. Metex has appointed Hartley Poynton Limited as Corporate Adviser to
the Company in regard to facilitating the Company`s development of a
suitable long term technology strategy.

Metex stresses that at this stage it does not intend to alter its
main undertaking of exploration, continuing with its focus on the
Laverton Exploration Joint Venture with Delta Gold Ltd where we are
continuing to expend approximately $1.5 million annually, and the
development of the exciting new initiative with the Anketell
Resources NL IPO/MIS project which is presently awaiting a Product
Ruling from the ATO. However, in order to add value to shareholders,
Hartley Poynton Limited will assist Metex in investigating and
identifying ways to compliment our existing business activities.
Their brief is to identify and progress a suitable opportunity in the
rapidly emerging areas of Information Technology and/or
Bio-technology.

As part of their retainer Hartley Poynton Limited will be granted up
to 4 million free options exercisable at 20 cents per share on or
before 30 June 2004. This issue will require shareholder ratification
and the issue will be split as to 2 million options being issued at
the time of shareholder ratification, with the balance of 2 million
options at the time of conclusion of the acquisition of a suitable
technology investment.

The Company proposed to apply for ASX Listing of all of the above
options, which will be of the same class of security and have
identical terms.

It should be noted that the fully paid ordinary shares that will be
issued upon exercise of these options will rank equally in all
respects with the existing shares on issue.

It is proposed to hold an extraordinary general meeting of
shareholders in the near future to effect the necessary approvals for
the above transactions.

The Company will keep shareholders informed of ongoing developments.

Was haltet Ihr von Metex??

Mir gefallen zum einen die beiden Goldprojekte:

- Laverton gemeinsam mit Delta Gold 50/50
- und das Telfer Goldprojekt gemeinsam mit Croesus Mining und Gindalbie Gold

Auch Delta Gold sieht das Laverton Projekt positiv und forciert die Exploration, siehe letzten Jahresbericht von Delta Gold:

Delta Gold is increasing its exploration focus on regions of high gold prospectivity, such as the Kalgoorlie and Laverton areas of Western Australia (WA). The discovery of the multi-million ounce Wallaby deposit near Laverton confirms the soundness of this strategy. To maintain this focus, Delta Gold has reduced its grassroots exploration in other parts of Australia and in Zimbabwe.

During 1999/2000, Delta Gold`s exploration programme remains focussed on discovering and acquiring gold deposits in Australia, with particular emphasis on the Laverton and Kalgoorlie regions of WA. This programme will be complemented by a highly selective search for quality projects that meet Delta Gold`s criteria outside Australia.

Ebenso bin ich sicher,
dass Hartley Poynton Limited
schon bald eine interessante Firma im Informationstechnologie und/oder Biotechnologie Sektor findet,
dies wird den Kurs weiter nach oben treiben.

Die Marktkapitalisierung ist noch sehr gering mit derzeit 11,8 Mio. A$.

Nachdem Hartley Poynton Limited in Aktienoptionen bezahlt wird, ist hier das Interesse groß einen steigenden Aktienkurs zu sehen.
