      http://www.wallstreet-online.de/community/thread/1133207-1.h…

"VMS Reports 35.8m of 2.69% Copper at Reed Lake, Manitoba; Dr. Mark Fedikow Joins Management Team
      Wednesday April 23
      , 6:30 am ET

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 23, 2008 -- VMS Ventures Inc. (CDNX:VMS.V - News) (the "Company") is pleased to report on its ongoing exploration program at the Reed Project Discovery Zone near Snow Lake, Manitoba.

      Highlights:

      RD-08-34: 35.80m (117.45ft) grading 2.69% Cu, 0.65% Zn

      Including 10.43m (34.22 ft) grading 3.52% Cu, 0.27% Zn

      RD-08-30: 22.93m (75.23 ft) grading 1.07% Cu, 4.00% Zn

Dr. George Gale, Vice President of Exploration states: "Holes RD-08-30 and RD-08-34 assay results are within the range of grades announced for previous holes in this deposit and are substantial intersections in themselves. These are very much in line with the grades typical for mined deposits in the belt. In addition, the intersection of near solid sulphide (NSS) in drill hole RD-08-35 announced on April 10, 2008 provides continuous intercepts at approximately 25m spaced intervals from hole RD-08-16 west to hole RD-08-35. This suggests a strike length of approximately 125m, open in both directions. It is especially interesting that the discovery is located at the eastern and northern boundary of a large prominent magnetic high anomaly, which now can be directly correlated with the VMS deposit. A ground magnetic survey has provided a detailed map that shows that the magnetic anomaly associated with the mineralization extends to the edge of the current survey grid, a distance of approximately 500m to the west of the discovery hole (RD-07-02). Our next phase of drilling will include holes to test the magnetic anomaly to the west of current drill holes."

During the pause in drilling for spring breakup, several exploration activities on the Discovery Zone continue. They include:

      - A ground magnetic survey, which already has provided a detailed map showing that the magnetic anomaly associated with the mineralization extends to the edge of the current survey grid, a distance of approximately 500m to the west of the discovery hole (RD-07-02). The grid will be extended another 700m further west (see http://www.vmsventures.com/image_pages/image020.asp to link to map).

      - The Deep EM survey continues on the property and will ultimately cover over 100 line kilometers over and around the Discovery Zone.

      - The Downhole EM equipment is also on the property. Two holes are completed and six have been selected for immediate attention. Probes as deep as 200 meters are contemplated. Each provides an EM reading of up to 100 meters in diameter along the entire length of each hole surveyed.

      - A gravity survey of the discovery area is now underway. This will assist in confirming the direction that the mineralization is trending and may assist in identifying the core of the Discovery Zone mineralization discovered thus far.

The Company is also pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Fedikow has joined the management team of VMS Ventures and Harvest Gold Corporation. Dr. Fedikow will act as Vice-President of Technical Services and will be involved in all aspects of developing the Company's exploration plans for its extensive Copper-Zinc and Nickel property portfolios in Manitoba, Canada. Mark will join the VMS management group and exploration team in Winnipeg and Snow Lake from April 23-27th. The meetings are designed to analyze the progress on the Discovery Zone and develop a detailed exploration plan for the remainder of 2008.

Dr. Fedikow has 30 years of mineral exploration experience with industry and government surveys as an exploration geochemist and mineral deposits geologist. In 2001 he was the recipient of the Provincial Geologists Medal, a Canadian national award for outstanding geoscientific achievement. He has published numerous articles on mineral deposits and their geochemical expressions in rock, soil and vegetation sample media. Specifically, he has applied the Mobile Metal Ions Process (MMI) in exploration programs for a wide variety of mineral deposit types including lode gold, porphyry copper, base metal massive sulphides and magmatic nickel-copper-PGM.

President John Roozendaal, states: "Mark brings with him a wealth of knowledge and field experience with the geology, and in particular mineral deposits, of Manitoba. As a recognized expert in the field of exploration geochemistry, he adds valuable experience in employing modern geochemical surveys to help detect mineralization. Mark's experience in planning and executing drilling programs will allow us to manage the growing number of drill ready properties in the Company. We are delighted to have Mark join the VMS team."

RD-08-41 Intersects 22.74 m of NSS at 360 m Below Surface at Reed Lake Discovery Zone

      5/22/2008 6:31:07 AM - Market Wire

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, May 22, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) --

VMS Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE: VMS) (the "Company") is pleased to report on its ongoing exploration program at the Reed Lake Discovery Zone near Snow Lake, Manitoba.

      Highlights:
      RD-08-36: 81.07 m (265.97 ft) of 3.54% Cu and 0.26% Zn
      Including 36.58 m (120.01 ft) of 5.64% Cu and 0.13% Zn
      Including 18.99 m (62.30 ft) of 7.10% Cu and 0.17% Zn
      (Au & Ag assays pending)
      RD-08-38: 72.11 m (97.54 ft) of Sulphide Veinlets
      RD-08-39: 14.42 m (47.34 ft) of Near Solid Sulphide
RD-08-41: 33.83 m (110.99 ft) of Near Solid Sulphide and Sulphide
      Veinlets
Including 18.73 m (61.45 ft) of Near Solid Sulphide

Dr. George Gale states: "The intercept in RD-08-41 extends the mineralization to a total depth of approximately 360 m below surface. In the three previous phases of drilling, mineralization was to a depth of approximately 180 m. As well, RD-08-39 intersected NSS from 188.92 m to 203.34 m, thereby extending the NSS an additional 45 m west of the RD-08-35 intersection, previously the furthest west interval of mineralization. RD-08-40, designed to intersect the sulphide body 37 m below RD-08-39, intersected a fault with a 0.75 m section of NSS. This extends the NSS section in the Main lense at its widest part to a width of 170 m."

Dr. Gale continues: "The mineralization intersected in RD-08-41 consists primarily of chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite and is considered a zone of mobilized material that resembles the material intersected in RD-08-36. The absence of a thick black chlorite section also suggests that this is still not the centre of this particular VMS mineralizing system."

The first four holes in the Phase Four drill program, RD-08-38 through RD-08-41, were drilled from the same setup, but at different azimuths. This also served as the location for holes RD-08-23 and RD-08-35. Holes RD-08-39 and RD-08-40 are of particular interest because they extend the Main Zone both to the west and considerably down dip. Hole RD-08-41 was drilled at a dip of minus 80 degrees and intersected chalcopyrite veinlets and near solid sulphide (NSS) intervals between 332.13 m and 365.60 m. This hole extends the mineralization for approximately 70 m below the section of chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite veinlets intersected in RD-08-38.

The Company has now received the preliminary results of its 2008 VTEM airborne survey, and the results of the DEEPEM program. The data collection for the ground magnetic survey is also complete. The collection of field data for the gravity survey is complete for this phase, though additional survey lines are being planned to extend the coverage area in the coming weeks.

At this time, one drill continues testing the depth extent of mineralization at the western edges of the Discovery Zone and a second drill is now in place testing geophysical anomalies located near the alteration zone discovered at the Tower Zone, 1,000 m to the east. The third drill is expected to commence drilling early next week and is planned to begin testing the extent of Discovery Zone mineralization to the East and to depth.

All technical information in this release has been reviewed by the Qualified Person, Dr. George Gale, P.Eng. Samples are prepared and analyzed at Activation Laboratories, Ancaster, Ontario using acid digest assay analytical methods.

VMS Ventures Inc. is focused primarily on acquiring, exploring and developing copper-zinc properties in the Flin Flon-Snow Lake VMS Belt. ----There is no doubt VMS is the Real Deal. Reed Lake is a company-maker. This exploration team is the best you could ask for. Dr. Gale has his targets set and phase IV is 4 for 4. The potential is mind boggling to say the least. Trying to swing for pennies at this stage of the discovery is foolish imo. Most longs can't believe the sp is where it is today, wiithout considering the last NR. Extremely undervalued, creating a chance for anyone lucky enough to be paying attention, to get on board. The VMS train is about to leave the station.

---I like most of the investors here have bought and sold this stock on several occasions. This last set of results is starting to make me into a believer. Big money will be looking at this stock soon and when that happens the pump and dump and bashing is over. In my opinion we are very close to this now. Its time to stay on the train at least until we see how the cards fall.

      VMS Adopts Shareholder Rights Agreement

Tuesday May 27, 11:35 am ET

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 27, 2008) - VMS Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:VMS - News; "VMS" or the "Company") announced today that its Board of Directors has approved the adoption of a Shareholder Rights Plan Agreement (the "Rights Plan"). The Rights Plan is being adopted to ensure the fair treatment of all VMS shareholders in connection with any take-over bid for the outstanding common shares of VMS. The Rights Plan will provide shareholders with adequate time to properly evaluate and assess a take-over bid without facing undue pressure or coercion. The Rights Plan also provides the Board with additional time to consider any take-over bid and, if applicable, to explore alternative transactions in order to maximize shareholder value.

The Rights Plan is not designed to prevent take-over bids that treat VMS shareholders fairly. Pursuant to the terms of the Rights Plan, any bid that meets certain criteria intended to protect the interests of all shareholders are deemed to be "Permitted Bids". A Permitted Bid must be made by way of a take-over bid circular prepared in compliance with applicable securities laws and, in addition to certain other conditions, must remain open for 60 days. In the event a take-over bid does not meet the Permitted Bid requirements of the Rights Plan, the rights issued under the plan will entitle shareholders, other than any shareholder or shareholders involved in the take-over bid, to purchase additional common shares of VMS at a significant discount to the market price of the common shares at that time. The Rights Plan is not being adopted in response to any proposal to acquire control of VMS.

The Rights Plan is subject to approval by the TSX Venture Exchange (the "Exchange") and in accordance with the policies of the Exchange will be presented for ratification by the shareholders at a general meeting to be held within 6 months. If ratified by shareholders, the Rights Plan will have a term of three years.

VMS Ventures Inc. is focused primarily on acquiring, exploring and developing copper-zinc properties in the Flin Flon-Snow Lake VMS Belt. Here is my spin on todays news. Two things achieved.1/ They let shareholders know that they plan to keep their interested in the forefront.2/ Road show just started and making the announcement public, they let any interested companies know that we are not on sale on the cheap.Very good move on managements part IMOP.

VMS Ventures Proposes to Spin Off Nickel Assets

Thursday June 12, 6:30 am ET

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 12, 2008 -- VMS Ventures Inc. (CDNX:VMS.V - News) ("VMS" or the "Company") - In order to maximize shareholder value, the board of directors has decided to pursue a spin off of the Company's nickel assets. As proposed, the relevant properties would be transferred to a new company which would carry out an IPO and seek to list separately on the TSX Venture Exchange, with VMS as the largest shareholder of the new company.:eek::lick:

The spin off is being proposed as it is felt that the Company's nickel assets are currently undervalued within the present structure and that having those assets in a separate well capitalized, well managed vehicle is a better way in which to develop the properties and realize a proper valuation of the assets for the benefit of VMS and its shareholders.

The Company is currently in discussions with various brokerage firms to act as the Company's agent in conducting the IPO and will provide further disclosure once the terms of the spin off are settled upon.

      About VMS Ventures Inc.

VMS Ventures Inc. is focused primarily on acquiring, exploring and developing copper-zinc properties in the Flin Flon-Snow Lake VMS Belt. The Company also holds the largest land package considered prospective for nickel-copper mineralization at Lynn Lake, which is to date Canada's third largest nickel producing camp. The Company's project portfolio consists of the Snow Lake VMS project, the Lynn Lake Gabbros nickel-copper project, the Nickel Belt project, the South Bay nickel-copper-cobalt PGE property, and the Eden Lake Carbonatite Complex, Specialty Metals property. All VMS Ventures Inc. properties are located in the mining friendly province of Manitoba, Canada.

VMS Reports 19.8 Meters Grading 2.70% Copper in Hole RD-08-35 at Reed Lake Discovery Zone:eek::eek:

Thursday June 19, 6:30 am ET

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 19, 2008 -- VMS Ventures Inc. (CDNX:VMS.V - News) (the "Company") is pleased to report on its ongoing exploration program at the Reed Lake Discovery Zone near Snow Lake, Manitoba.

      Highlights:

      RD-08-35: 19.80 m (64.96 ft) of 2.70% Cu and 1.72% Zn

      Including 12.11 m (39.73 ft) of 3.52% Cu and 1.96% Zn

      Including 7.51 m (24.64 ft) of 5.02% Cu and 1.77% Zn

Hole RD-08-35 was drilled from the same set up and azimuth as holes RD-08-23 and RD-08-38 and approximately 45 m to the east of the western most intercept of mineralization so far, hole RD-08-39.

One drill continues testing the strike and depth extent of mineralization at the western edges of the Discovery Zone and a second drill is testing the Discovery Zone mineralization to the east and to depth.

A third drill is testing a strong off hole conductor detected in a recent downhole survey of hole TZ-08-02, related to the Tower Zone anomaly, 1,000 m to the east of the Discovery Zone. The Tower Zone anomaly is a series of geophysical conductor anomalies that have been identified in airborne, and in greater detail in the DeepEM survey over a 1.2 km length. Previous holes in the area have not explained the conductor, but have intercepted altered rocks and trace amounts of copper and zinc sulphides along with iron sulphides, in what may represent foot wall alteration to a VMS deposit.

VMS Reports 10.36% Copper Over 33.46 Metres in Deepest Intercept to Date at Reed Lake, Manitoba:eek::eek:

Thursday July 3, 10:00 am ET

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(MARKET WIRE)--Jul 3, 2008 -- VMS Ventures Inc. (CDNX:VMS.V - News) (the "Company") is pleased to report on its ongoing exploration program at the Reed Lake Discovery Zone near Snow Lake, Manitoba.

      Reed Lake Drill Hole Highlights:

      - RD-08-38 Intersects 35.81 metres (117.49ft) of 2.22% Copper

      Including 12.10 metres (39.70ft) of 2.92% Copper

      - RD-08-39 Intersects 13.88 metres (45.54ft) of 3.56% Copper

      Including 4.10 metres (13.45ft) of 7.67% Copper

      - RD-08-41 Intersects 33.46 metres (109.78ft) of 10.36% Copper

      Including 18.08 metres (56.04ft) of 13.03% Copper

      Including 5.00 metres (16.40ft) of 16.30% Copper

Dr. George Gale, VP Exploration, comments, "The results from drill hole RD-08-41 indicate that there are very high-grade copper sections to this deposit. It is also noteworthy that this is the deepest intersection of mineralization to date at approximately 350 m from surface. The high-grade copper zones may represent a copper-rich footwall zone that is stratigraphically below the solid sulphide lens. This intersection is one of several high-grade copper zones intersected to date that require more detailed drilling to determine true thickness."

Short copper-zinc mineralized intervals are present in RD-08-25, RD-08-40 and RD-08-42, which represent areas of shearing that displaced most of the mineralized section. Similar displaced sections exist in other drill holes, such as RD-08-15.

Drill holes RD-08-42 (see Table 1 below) to 47 and RD-08-49 intersected both altered footwall and hanging wall rocks but no significant intervals of sulphide. These holes and a detailed logging of previous drill holes have increased our understanding and modeling of the deposit. Hole RD-08-42 entered a near vertical shear above the targeted depth and deviated away from the target.

Holes RD-08-48 and RD-08-50 were positioned to test copper rich intersections of mineralization to the southwest in hole RD-08-38. Hole RD-08-50 intersected 15 metres of Near Solid Sulphide (NSS), which extends the NSS lens to the SW. Drill hole RD-08-48 intersected extensive, weakly altered footwall rocks but did not reach the target depth.

Drilling continues at the Discovery Zone and at the Tower Zone and results will be released as received.

      (i) True thickness unknown

VMS vice-president of exploration, Dr. George Gale, states: "We have now confirmed, based on the recent sectional drilling of the Reed Lake discovery zone, that there are at least two lenses of mineralization present. Initial drilling of the deposit suggested that there was one zone with abundant debris flow sulphides and high-grade chalcopyrite sections in pyrrhotite (iron-sulphide)-rich sections. We have now determined that the debris flow material occurs in a three- to five-metre-thick, stratigraphically controlled lense (A lense), and that the high-grade copper intersections occur within a chalcopyrite-pyrrhotite zone that is structurally controlled mobilizate (B lense)."

Drill holes RD-08-38 and RD-08-41 intersected high-grade chalcopyrite-pyrrhotite zones without debris flow material. Drill hole RD-08-56, and later holes in the western portion of the deposit, have confirmed that it comprises a lower-grade northward-dipping stratabound pyrite-magnetite zone (A lense) and a separate near-vertical crosscutting high-grade copper-rich chalcopyrite-pyrrhotite lense (B lense). The mineralization in both lenses is open to the west.

The crosscutting B lense consists of both near solid sulphide and sulphide veinlets. Previously, the B lense had been intersected by RD-08-41 with assays of 10.36 per cent copper over 33.46 metres. The mineralized intersections in RD-08-53, RD-08-55 and RD-08-56 confirmed the existence of the B lense. These holes intersected sections of high-grade copper in near-solid sulphide within significant intervals. RD-08-61 intersected 119.37 metres of sulphide veinlets and near-solid sulphide within the B lense (assays pending). The most recent hole to intersect the B lense is RD-08-71 which contains 39.71 metres of near-solid sulphide. Assays are also pending for this drill hole.

The company's present understanding of the B lense is that it is near vertical, extends toward the southwest and is oriented at a moderate to high angle to the stratigraphically controlled A lense, which trends approximately east-west and dips 70 to 80 degrees north. On the westernmost section drilled to date, the B lense is located approximately 50 to 75 metres south of the A lense.

Borehole EM geophysical anomalies have identified conductive targets along strike to the east and west of current drilling. A recent induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey in the area of the discovery zone indicates the presence of an anomaly that is interpreted to be the westward extension of the B lense. Additional surface and borehole geophysical surveys are planned to assist in targeting the mineralization at depth and along strike to the west.

All technical information in this release has been reviewed by Dr. George Gale, PEng, vice-president, VMS Ventures.

These holes provide further evidence for continuity of mineralization of both the A lense (holes 62 and 63) and B lense (hole 64) between previously announced drill holes along strike to the west."

The Company is also pleased to announce that, in accordance with the Company's stock option plan, it has granted to certain employees, consultants, directors and officers incentive stock options to purchase up to an aggregate of 900,000 common shares exercisable on or before October 21, 2013 at a price of $0.35 per share.

I think the best part of the news release was the comment from Gale.....

"These holes provide further evidence for continuity of mineralization of both the A lense (holes 62 and 63) and B lense (hole 64) between previously announced drill holes along strike to the west."

Almost every news release keeps generating high grade results and now the news releases are also confirming this is an economical size deposit and growing and growing and growing..... Eventually the share price will start growing and growing..........

Vice President of Exploration, Dr. George Gale, states: "Hole RD-08-65, drilled from the same setup location as drill holes 62 and 64, intersected a large interval of sulphide veinlets on the western side of the deposit. Drill hole RD-08-66 tested the near surface, up-dip projection of mineralization intersected previously in holes 12, 58 and 60 on the eastern side of the deposit.

Dr. Gale adds: "Hole RD-08-66 intersected the "A" zone with its characteristic copper and zinc mineralization; and also what is interpreted to be the very upper edge of the "B" zone mineralized body further down the hole. Hole RD-08-66 provides evidence for continuity of both zones of mineralization and demonstrates that the mineralization comes within 60 metres of surface in that part of the deposit."

THE REAL DEAL$$ good read for newbies!!

      Dear VMS Followers AND CRAPMAN!!!!!!!!

This morning's release provides more strong results from our Reed Lake drilling. As George points out below, it also indicates additional continuity in the A and B lenses discovered to date. The deposit is growing and the grades continue to raise eyebrows among many experienced geologists and investors in our shareholder base.

Outside of our control, the scope and speed of this most recent chapter of the international financial crisis and its impact on outlooks for economic growth and commodity prices has been stunning and disappointing, to say the least.

In large part, due to that, the most frequently asked question I hear is "How much money do you have left?" Obviously, cash is more significant than ever. To that end, we have slowed our spending since the middle of July to preserve operating capital while we enhance the value of our Reed Lake deposit and interpret and collate our geophysical and geochemistry data on our sizable VMS property package in preparation for future drilling.

We expect to carry approximately $14,000,000 into January, 2009. We will prioritize and monitor spending carefully.

By year end, I expect we will have utilized our complete 2008 flow through budget by:

      *
having completed an extensive VTEM airborne geophysics survey...all our properties have now been flown,
      *
having drilled approximately 67 holes in and around the Reed Lake Discovery Zone,
      *
having executed detailed ground geophysics and gravity surveys at Reed Lake, and
      *
having sent out ground crews to map and collect geochemistry samples at Copperman, Sails, 9-7, Wekusko and South Bay to assist in developing our next generation of drill targets.

We have discovered an asset at Reed Lake that has forever changed the face of this company. We are committed to finding a way to unlock its true value today and, as importantly, its even bigger potential value as the deposit grows, by determining the best pathway to mining this deposit, sooner rather than later.

Finally, even though this is a message difficult to hear in the noise of the financial Tsunami, our exploration potential is greater than ever. Remember, our now "ready to drill" property package in this fertile VMS belt was selected before the staking rush that followed our discovery. We are looking forward to getting drills turning on our new targets.

Please stay in touch. We appreciate your feedback through your calls and e-mails.

      Best Regards,

      Rick Mark,

      CEO, VMS Ventures Inc.

Vice President of Exploration, Dr. George Gale states: "Hole RD-08-68 was drilled to test for mineralization below hole RD-08-67. Hole RD-08-69, was designed to test the eastern extension of the mineralization. These holes intersected only the mafic intrusion and did not intersect either the A or B lense. No further holes will be drilled in that area of the deposit, until a clearer geological picture and geophysical target is developed. Holes RD-08-70 and RD-08-71 tested the western extension of both the A and B lenses. Both drill holes intersected the A lense. Hole RD-08-71 also intersected the central parts of the B lense, whereas hole RD-08-70 overshot the top of the B lense. Holes 68 and 69 determined what may be the eastern extent of the B lense. Holes 70 and 71 are on the western most section drilled to date. Borehole geophysical surveys indicate that both lenses are still open to the west of the section containing holes 70 and 71."

Vice President of Exploration, Dr. George Gale, states: "Hole RD-08-73 was drilled below, and at the same azimuth as, holes RD-08-61, RD-08-51 and RD-08-54 near the western edge of our drilling pattern, but approximately 25 m east of the western most section drilled. The intersection confirms that mineralization continues to a depth of more than 350 m in this part of the deposit. The geological and geophysical borehole models indicate that both A and B lenses plunge towards the west and southwest and are still open west of the last section drilled."

..........und nachfolg. NEWS wurde grad ins SH- board
      reingestellt..........

      Dear VMS Followers,

Today, we have released the results of four more holes of our Discovery Zone drilling near Snow Lake, Manitoba. George's comments reflect a growing understanding of the deposit which will benefit us all when drilling resumes. And, RD-08-71's 130 feet of 4 % Copper is another very strong result for VMS.

I had a chance to be at the annual Manitoba Mining and Minerals conference in Winnipeg last week. The conference was amazingly upbeat considering the very difficult markets we all are living with these days. I find it very positive that the Minister of Mines for the Manitoba government was involved in all aspects of the conference and I had several direct converstaions with him regarding our Company and our views on Manitoba continuing to be a great province for exploration.

Our entire Geological team met Sunday after the conference. The morning was spent studying our 2009 priotity drill properties, including the current geophysical interpretation of the 2008 VTEM data. We will be providing you with updated information on those properties in the weeks ahead.

I want to repeat a statement I made a short time ago regarding our cash position. We expect to enter 2009 with approximately $15 million dollars in the bank. We agree with market sentiment that cash must be regarded as an asset to be valued and to spend it prudently and wisely. That is our intention as we move forward.

To our Amercian friends, we all wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels this long weekend.

      Best Regards,

      Rick Mark,

      CEO, VMS Ventures Inc.

      BEST JUNIORS FOR 2009 - VMS INCLUDED$$$$$

Canaccord Adams: The worst for junior mining ‘is likely behind us'

CanaccordAdams metals analysts suggest that it may be time to accumulate smallcap/mining exploration stocks that offer good value.
      Author: Dorothy Kosich

      Posted: Tuesday , 23 Dec 2008

      RENO, NV -

Althoughthe small-cap mining sector "has just been through its worst, mostprecipitous decline in modern history," metals analysts at CanaccordAdams say they believe "the worst is likely behind us."

Nevertheless, they noted a sustainable recovery in the junior mining sector willdepend "upon the perception that an overall recovery in global demandfor metals in imminent."

However, that turnaround will "likelydepend on the efficacy of the government stimulus packages beingimplemented around the globe," they added.

"The year 2008 hasshattered investor confidence, and market valuations reflectrisk-averse investor sentiment," the analysts advised. "We believethat, to achieve a sustainable rally in the junior mining sector in2009, investors must regain confidence in broader equity markets. "

"Giventhe ongoing issues in the global equity and credit markets, we believethat investors are likely to remain somewhat risk adverse. That said, opportunities to exist in the junior sector even under more subduedinvestor interest."

Canaccord Adams stressed that, in thecurrent environment, investors should focus on companies with "balancesheet strength, above-average project portfolios and strong managementsheets."

Junior mining companies with strong balance sheets "aremore likely to survive prolonged sector weakness, which gives aninvestor an opportunity to benefit when the rebound in junior miningequities occurs," the analysts suggested.

In their report, the analysts outlined key mining sector drivers for 2009 including:

      • Base metals prices: "The global outlook for metals demand remains grim." But low prices could be close to leveling off.

•Precious metals prices: "Credit concerns, a trend to further Fedeasing...political tensions, diversification of central bank reserveholdings and the high US current account deficit all suggest a strainon the US dollar, and therefore strength in US-denominated bullion."

•Uranium: "We expect uranium to fare well through 2009 and beyond as thecurrent global fleet of 439 plants is expanded by 39 plants underconstruction and as plans and proposal for an additional 379 plants areadvanced; the price may be further enhanced as supply concerns arise."

•Diamonds: "This has been the least interesting sector in mining overthe past five years in our view. ...With metal prices off, rumourssuggest BHP and Rio Tinto are ramping up diamond explorationactivities. In addition, advanced plays by Peregrine and Diamonds Northcould create renewed interest."

      • US dollar: "As capital diversifies, will the U.S. dollar decline? If so it could be good for all metals."

•The TSX and Dow Jones: "If the US has been in recession since December2007, we may have already seen the bottom of the market. If we arehalfway through the recession we have good hopes for the markets inH2/09."

      • The TSX Venture Index: While Canaccord Adams notedthat the TSX-V has been down as much as 80% over the last 18 months,"We think the worst is over, but will the recovery be V-shaped or willprolonged consolidation kick in before a sustainable recovery emerges?"

•Although the availability of capital has been constrained on alllevels, the analysts said they have witnessed successful equityunderwritings of several small to mid-cap equities. Nevertheless, theyadvised that, until "a shift in sentiment towards explorecos improves,we expect capital to remain tight among the small caps." Canaccordbelieves equity raised next year for explorers and developers "will belimited to above-average opportunities."

      • M&A Activity: "Webelieve the circumstances currently prevailing within the small capmining space could open the potential for a series of mergers andacquisitions. Compounding this is the lack of capital available tojuniors, which could be also a motivating factor to build on theM&A environment."

      • New Discoveries: ‘With fewerexplorecos actually conducting exploration work, the chances of adiscovery in 2009 are declining. That said an attention-grabbingdiscovery could have a greater impact given the small circle of activeexplorers for investors to concentrate on."

      • IndustryChallenges: "Access to capital, declining metal prices and an apatheticinvestment climate are serious concerns in 2009."

Giventhe unknowns associated with a broad junior mining market turnaround, the analysts suggested that small-cap exposure "be associated withwell-managed, cash-rich companies that will maintain active, butmodest, exploration/development programs on top quality targets overthe next 6-18 months."

Canaccord Adams highlighted 12small-cap mineral exploration/development companies that have "strongworking capital positions, above-average strong portfolios and strongmanagement teams." They include B2Gold, Colossus Minerals, ExeterResources, Fronteer Development Group, Hathor Exploration, Lake ShoreGold, MAG Silver, Minera Andes, Northern Dynasty Minerals, Rainy RiverResources, Silverstone Resources, and Ur-Energy.

The currentlyprevailing circumstances prevailing within small-cap mining "create thepotential for a series of mergers and acquisitions," the analystssuggested.

"Mergers among the small caps could increase asmanagement teams become ‘humbled' by current market conditions andrecognize that combined entities could, in the long term, result inimproved shareholders value," they noted. "In other cases, thecombination of cash-rich companies with property-rich companies couldsynergistically result in improved shareholder value."

"Weexpect additional M&A activity to drive some renewed speculativeappeal over the next several months," the analysts advised. CanaccordAdams outlined several possible M&A targets including AnatoliaMinerals, Andina Minerals, Aquiline Resources, Bear Creek Mining,Candente Resources, Canplats Resources, CGA Mining, Colossus Minerals,Comaplex Minerals, and Corriente Resources.

Other prospectiveM&A targets include Detour Gold, Donner Metals, GlobeStar Mining,Grayd Resource, Hathor Exploration, International Tower Hill Mine,Minera Andes, Osisko Mining, Rainy River Resources, Rubicon Minerals,Tournigan Energy, Ur-Energy and VMS Ventures.:eek:

VMS Ventures starts drilling 1,000 m at Puella Bay

      2009-02-26 08:08 ET - News Release

      Mr. John Roozendaal reports

VMS VENTURES INC.: PUELLA BAY PROJECT DRILLING BEGINS

VMS Ventures Inc. has started a drill program on its Puella Bay project, located approximately 25 kilometres southeast of Snow Lake, Man.

The drill program will test four of the 10 target areas identified to date on the Puella Bay project. This program is designed to explore targets situated under water or beneath swamp-covered areas of the property, which are accessible only during the winter freeze-up season.

The five-hole 1,000-metre drill program will test geophysical conductor targets of interest. It will provide important geological information, not obtainable by more conventional means, such as geological mapping and prospecting, due to overburden and water cover. Each of the targets being tested is considered prospective for the same kind of copper-zinc mineralization discovered at the company's Reed Lake project in 2007 and deposits elsewhere in the belt.

Three of the targets occur within a four-kilometre-long string of highly conductive VTEM anomalies situated adjacent to an extensive zone of VMS-type alteration in the southern part of Puella Bay. Drill holes containing zinc and copper mineralization and alteration minerals in the vicinity of these targets were reported in 1988 government assessment files by Hudson Bay Exploration & Development (HBED). These results are helpful as they identify economic minerals of interest, such as chalcopyrite and sphalerite, and also provide evidence of alteration minerals associated with VMS deposits. The anomalies being targeted in this program were identified in the company's 2008 VTEM airborne geophysical and field surveys using technology not available in 1988.

The other two targets are located on a one-kilometre-long VTEM anomaly at the northern end of the property, in an area that has not been drilled previously. This anomaly shows variations in magnetic susceptibility and conductivity and is centred over the axis of a regional anti-cline structure.

All of the Puella Bay project targets identified to date are situated at the margin of, or within, a 1,200-metre-thick unit of felsic volcanic rocks. There is evidence of extensive hydrothermal activity in the felsic rocks, including chlorite and sericite alteration, together with minor amounts of chalcopyrite. This occurs over a distance of approximately three kilometres in a north-south direction and approximately one kilometre in an east-west direction. Previous drilling within the alteration zone intersected abundant sericitic alteration and over 5 per cent zinc in quartz-rich veinlets. In the past, explorers excavated a number of trenches in sulphide-bearing rocks with minor amounts of copper and zinc. An extensive exhalite zone consisting of layered chert, earthy pyrite and magnetite, known from previous drilling, is present along the eastern edge of this alteration zone. The untested, highly conductive VTEM anomalies that will be targeted during this drill program are situated at the eastern edge of the alteration zone and immediately west of the exhalite unit.

The company anticipates that drilling will be completed in mid-March. The company is also planning a ground geophysical survey which should be completed by the end of March. The remaining target areas will be examined by field geologists during the summer program.:eek:

VMS Identifies a Two km Long Geophysical Target At Reed Lake Project Near Snow Lake Manitoba

      VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(MARKET WIRE)--Mar 12, 2009

-- VMS Ventures Inc. (CDNX:VMS.V - News) (the "Company") is pleased to report the identification of a significant geophysical anomaly at the Company's Reed Lake project. The anomaly extends from property held 100% by VMS Ventures Inc. onto the adjacent property optioned from Hudson Bay Exploration and Development Company Limited, a subsidiary of HudBay Minerals Inc. (Toronto:HBM.TO - News).

In February of this year, VMS commenced a ground-based electromagnetic survey of areas southwest of the Reed Lake Discovery Zone to determine if additional deep conductors exist along strike from the known mineralization. Early survey results suggested anomalies at the northern extent of the survey. A decision was then made to cover the area, beginning north of the deposit near the Highway Zone (copper-zinc mineralization discovered in 1974 by Freeport), and extending to the southeast through the Tower Zone, discovered by VMS in 2007.

The DeepEM survey has identified a major conductor in this area, north and east of the Reed Lake Discovery Zone. The anomaly is present over a distance of approximately 2.0 km and may extend the Tower Zone, to the Highway Zone, a further 600 metres. This new anomaly is interpreted to be between 200 and 400 metres below surface. It provides confirmation of the regional northwesterly geological trend deduced from drilling at the Reed Lake Discovery Zone. A plot of the DeepEM survey results, together with the underlying magnetic survey results, is available for viewing on the Company's website at http://vmsventures.com/image_pages/image027.asp.

Dr. George Gale, VP Exploration states: "This new Tower Zone conductive anomaly, is deep, strong and of considerable length. The association of high-contrast geochemical anomalies with this geophysical conductor and drill evidence of an alteration system which hosts copper and zinc sulphides is very encouraging. Graphite has not been intersected in the drilling at the Tower Zone, which might otherwise explain such a large conductor. The presence of known copper-zinc mineralization at the Highway Zone, more than two kilometres to the northwest at the opposite end of the conductor, leads us to believe this target has tremendous potential to host one or several mineralized bodies."

      MINERALIZATION ORIENTATION

Originally, the Company believed the trend of mineralization, inferred from airborne anomalies, suggested the conductors were oriented in a northeast-southwest direction. Drilling and subsequent ground geophysical surveys have shown this not to be true and the 2009 DeepEM survey was oriented so as to cross the known trend of the mineralization.

In addition, a 2008 VMS drillhole at the Tower Zone intersected several metres of layered pyrite within cherty chemical sedimentary rocks prior to intersecting a major shear zone. Most of the drill holes in the Tower Zone area were oriented nearly parallel to this new northwest-trending DeepEM anomaly. The Company now believes this original orientation hypothesis resulted in the Tower Zone drill holes not intersecting the source of the conductors at depth.

      GEOCHEMISTRY

The Tower Zone portion of the DeepEM survey is coincident with a strong Mobile Metal Ions ("MMI") soil geochemical zinc and cadmium anomaly. A significant correlation between these two elements is a prerequisite for documenting the presence of a geochemical signature emanating from a bedrock source of the sulphide mineral sphalerite rather than a source unrelated to a buried base metal deposit. These anomalies are in the immediate vicinity of Copper and Zinc-bearing VMS type alteration intersected by four VMS holes drilled in 2007 and 2008.

The MMI soil geochemical survey data indicates a separate strong Cu, Zn-Cd and Pb anomaly (the North Anomaly), that is almost parallel to the Tower Zone MMI anomalies, but north of the provincial highway, in an area that has not yet been surveyed with the DeepEM method. An earlier induced polarization ("IP") geophysical survey west of the North Anomaly indicates a strong IP anomaly that trends towards this MMI anomaly. Also, there are a number of strong VTEM airborne anomalies that appear to be related to this geochemical anomaly trend.

Dr. Mark Fedikow, VP Technical Services states: "It is encouraging to see correlations between the geophysical and geochemical data that has been collected over the past three years. Now that the drilling and the geophysical data are providing confirmation of the subsurface geological trends obscured by the overlying dolomite, it is possible to model the drill intercepts and geochemical information in the vicinity of the Tower Zone into a conceptual model that can guide future exploration in this part of the property."

      Dear VMS Followers,

Today's release, I believe, represents one of three key success factors in helping VMS Ventures achieve its goal to be a much larger and better valued Company.

As I have suggested before, those three factors are:

-a decision to put the Reed Lake deposit into production,

-the ultimate size/grade of the Reed Lake project, and

-the price of copper in the future.

Factor number two, size and grade, may be the most important of all, because the bigger the deposit becomes, the more likely, it seems, it will come out of the ground and a bigger deposit's longer mine life substantially improves our chances of producing within the next bull market for copper.

George Gale's figure below shows the new geophysical anomaly in red. I encourage you to read the release carefully as it also points out new understandings of mineralizing trends and some important results from our geochemistry work.

We are attending the Casey Research Summit in Las Vegas on March 20, 21 and 22. If you are planning to attend, please visit us in the map room.

To those who were able to visit us in Toronto, thank you for your interest and excellent feedback.

      Best regards,

VMS Ventures Discusses Exploration Strategy and Project Plans Through 2010 Winter Drilling Season

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(MARKET WIRE)--May 14, 2009 -- VMS Ventures Inc. (CDNX:VMS.V - News) (the "Company") is pleased to announce its exploration plans for the coming year, through the winter drilling season ending in March, 2010.

VMS Ventures' property portfolio in the Flin Flon-Snow Lake VMS belt is extensive and covers a range of exploration projects at various stages of development. The Company's holdings cover an area totaling approximately 400 square kilometers (or 100,000 acres). VMS is well financed, with over $13,000,000 in its treasury.

President, John Roozendaal states: "The ongoing challenge for our geological team is to plan and execute a multi-layered program that moves each of our 12 projects forward toward well defined drill targets in a comprehensive and cost effective fashion. Our exploration team met in Winnipeg last month to review and update our property priorities and finalize plans for the 2009 summer season. We also envisioned exploration and drill programs through next winter's drilling season and beyond. This release is designed to begin the process of informing our shareholders, and the investment community, of our exploration methodology and the specific, updated exploration plans for six priority projects outside of our Reed Lake discovery."

      Exploration methodology

VMS employs a structured and systematic exploration approach to each of its properties from acquisition through to drilling. Following acquisition, a series of activities including the compilation and analysis of historical work, VTEM airborne geophysical surveying, and the identification of anomalies for reconnaissance geochemical sampling to test for an associated metal anomaly is undertaken. Secondary steps may include a more detailed geochemical survey grid over the object area and selected ground geophysical survey(s) taken to more precisely define the targets for drill testing. This approach enables the Company's geologists to identify 'exploration objects' for detailed re-evaluation before drilling.

      Airborne Geophysics

In 2007 and 2008, the Company commissioned extensive, airborne geophysical surveys using the state of the art Versatile Time Domain Electromagnetic (VTEM) system. The Company invested approximately $3 million dollars in VTEM and flew approximately 90% of the total VMS property package in Manitoba. This investment has returned several thousand prospective anomalies to be followed up over the next 3 years. This exploration tool is uniquely suited to detection of conductive metallic bodies beneath cover rock and overburden. This includes a large dolomite covered portion of the Flin Flon-Snow Lake VMS belt. Previous explorers worked with survey equipment that had trouble penetrating this dolomite cover and, therefore, few deposits have been discovered in the large, southern portion of the mineral belt.

Dr. George Gale, VP Exploration states: "VTEM technology has allowed us to see through the thick dolomite and produce many promising anomalies. The Reed Lake discovery was made largely as a result of the 2007 VTEM survey. The Reed Lake deposit is completely blind with 25 meters of dolomite cover concealing the rocks."

VMS Ventures' primary VTEM geophysical consultant is Lakewood, Colorado based Condor Consulting Inc. Condor is a world-leader in the processing and assessment of airborne EM data, and have been working with VTEM data since 2002. Condor's president Ken Witherly is very familiar with the Flin Flon-Snow Lake VMS belt and is working with the Company on its VTEM package. He states: "VMS has a first class approach to exploration in the Flin-Flon-Snow Lake belt that builds on the excellent quality of their VTEM data with cutting edge geochemical techniques and a wealth of local geological experience."

      Historical compilation and analysis

VMS Vice President, Dr. George Gale has 35 years of experience with Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) deposits, primarily in Manitoba, and VMS Director of Technical Operations, Dr. Mark Fedikow has 25 years of experience with mineral exploration and geochemical exploration techniques in locations around the globe. Dr. Ron Scott, Exploration Manager in Snow Lake and President, John Roozendaal, complete the core technical team. George and Mark bring tremendous knowledge and understanding of Manitoba's mineral endowment and have visited and studied most of the significant occurrences and deposits in the province. Obviously, their familiarity with Manitoba's mineral resources has impacted the Company's property package selections for the past four years, but it also has a tremendous impact on the greatest challenge, which is narrowing the choices for drill targets within this large property package.

Dr. Gale's strategy of testing historical drill core for trace elements has been very helpful in determining the validity of anomalies, particularly on the properties that are dolomite covered and do not have outcropping rocks. This strategy has already paid dividends during this past year with the recognition of a new occurrence of gold and silver on the Puella Bay property, which helped guide the Company's most recent drill program and resulted in the acquisition of 25 new claims (approximately 60 square kilometres) within the Puella Bay felsic unit last month.

      Geological mapping

The foundation of a sound approach to any mineral exploration program is geological mapping and it is a key component in the Company's exploration approach to massive sulphide type mineralization. On properties where the prospective volcanic rocks are buried beneath the layer of dolomite, particular attention is paid to the re-assessment of core from both historic and recent drill programs. Geological and geochemical observations are made on these underlying prospective volcanic rocks. In areas where dolomite cover is absent, geological mapping crews are able to assess the geological architecture of the property, which provides a focus for follow-up with appropriate ground surveys.

The 2009 summer plan will include a three month geological mapping program involving two geologists and a geological assistant. The mapping will focus on the new Puella Bay claims and the Sails Lake and Morton Lake properties. These are areas with abundant felsic volcanic rocks and alteration that is typically associated with VMS type copper-zinc deposits. The objective of the mapping programs is to provide detailed base maps for evaluation of geophysical datasets and to guide rock and soil geochemical surveys.

      Geochemistry

Dr. Mark Fedikow has extensive knowledge and field experience with a wide range of today's geochemical exploration techniques. He is a regular speaker on the topic at conferences all over the world. The use of geochemical survey methods is important to confirm assumptions from VTEM and geologic mapping programs where rocks outcrop, but it is an essential part of the VMS strategy to hunt for deposits hidden by the dolomite cover. VMS has been aggressive in acquiring properties within the dolomite covered areas where the same volcanic rocks that host copper-zinc deposits exist, in large part, because of the team's geochemical expertise. Dr. Fedikow is presently designing a 2009 summer geochemistry program for six of the Company's projects. Details will be announced shortly.

      Ground Geophysical Surveys

Following the discovery of mineralization on the Reed Lake property in 2007, the Company used various ground geophysical systems to determine the most effective methods to better understand the discovery, but also to examine critical characteristics of mineralized zones for future exploration. The Discovery Zone mineralization was detected by all systems at shallow depths. Deeper portions of the deposit were identified using IP, DEEPEM, and borehole geophysical surveys and these systems are considered valuable in our search for new mineralization to depths below 450 m.

The DEEPEM system used on the property is the same technology that resulted in detection of the Lalor zinc-gold-silver deposit discovered at a depth of approximately 800 m near Snow Lake by HudBay Minerals in 2007. Both IP and DEEPEM systems can be configured for surveys at depths of 400 m or less, so that initial drill costs can be reduced by testing anomalies closer to surface.

John Roozendaal, President of VMS Ventures states: "The IP, DEEPEM and borehole geophysical surveys at Reed Lake combined with the geological knowledge obtained from drill core, have been critical in our analysis and interpretation for tracking deep mineralization associated with the Discovery Zone and defining new, previously unrecognized deep anomalies classified as high-priority. Our ground geophysical contractors, Koop Geophysics and Matrix Geotechnologies are very experienced in the belt and provide specific guidance in drill target selection. We are now taking the knowledge and experience acquired at Reed Lake to our planning for Puella Bay, Sails Lake and Copper projects this year."

      Exploration Objects

Selected portions of the property package that have exhibited several characteristics of a VMS-type mineral deposit, such as associated conductors, magnetic signatures, and multi-element geochemical signatures are then defined as exploration objects. These much smaller object areas will vary in length from a few hundred metres to over a kilometre, and are then re-examined using more detailed geochemical surveys to further define areas of anomalous metal concentrations or they may be followed by ground geophysics to define the depth and orientation of the mineralized zone. Condor geophysical consultants are often brought in at this final data synthesis stage to assist in drill targeting.

      Drilling Priorities for 2009

The Company has identified Sails Lake, the northern section of the Copper project and the Tower Zone at Reed Lake as high priorities for drilling this year. Final plans and announcements on these drill programs will come at the completion of the data synthesis work on the various exploration objects now identified on these properties.

      Summary

In the coming 10 months, VMS will focus on advancing six projects towards defining discrete exploration objects. Those projects are 1) Sails Lake; 2) Puella Bay; 3) Copper; 4) McClarty Lake; 5) Leek Lake; and 6) 9-7. Each property will be the subject of a news release in the coming weeks.

The Reed Lake property, including the Tower Zone, continues to be the Company's top priority and will be discussed separately, as events proceed.

      VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - 09/25/09)

      - VMS Ventures Inc. (TSX-V:VMS - News) (the "Company") is pleased to update shareholders on its Tower Zone drill planning, including initial results of the summer 2009 geochemistry program in and around the Reed Lake Discovery Zone.

In the final report on the Tower Zone, now received from Koop Geotechnical Services Inc., the targets announced September 18, 2009 are confirmed to be coincident or spatially associated with MagTilt anomalies. MagTilt anomalies enhance near surface magnetic features, such as geological units and structures within 200-300 metres of surface. These anomalies indicate the possibility that structures similar to the Reed Lake Discovery Zone shape can be found at the Tower Zone.

The geochemical survey sample data collected this summer at, and near, the Company's Reed Lake Discovery Zone, has now been received. The survey data is still undergoing review and final interpretation, but the samples covering the Tower Zone targets have returned some positive indicators of Cu-Zn-Ag-Au mineralization in the area of the geophysical conductor targets announced September 18, 2009.

Final drill plans for the Tower Zone are underway. Specific drill hole designs will be constructed and targeting plans will be finalized next week in the Company's exploration team meetings in Snow Lake.

The HudBay Minerals September 22, 2009 announcement of a new and high grade copper-gold rich zone of mineralization beneath the Lalor Lake deposit is a very exciting development for HudBay and all exploration companies with property in the Snow Lake, Manitoba area. VMS Ventures holds large strategic exploration properties over a number of VMS deposit-bearing, prospective Time Space Units (horizons) in the Snow Lake end of the prolific Flin Flon Snow Lake VMS belt (http://www.vmsventures.com/pdfs/Discovery_Zone.pdf). The properties selected by the Company all host either VMS deposits or strong evidence of volcanogenic massive sulphide producing hydrothermal systems.

VMS Ventures uses the same consultants and the same state of the art downhole geophysical surveying used by HudBay Minerals in discovering and expanding Lalor Lake. These methods confirm and enhance the Company's geological and geochemical interpretations in its pursuit of new mines and deposits in the camp, The new deep anomalies at the Tower Zone are the most recent example of this collaboration.

Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 38.076.332 von hbg55 am 29.09.09 13:34:26udBay Enters Into Letter of Intent With VMS Ventures

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 4, 2010) - HudBay Minerals Inc. ("HudBay", the "company") (TSX:HBM) today announced it has, through a subsidiary, entered into a non-binding letter of intent with VMS Ventures Inc. ("VMS") (TSX VENTURE:VMS) respecting HudBay's copper-rich Reed Lake property in Manitoba's Flin Flon Greenstone Belt, which is presently under option to VMS, the two southern claims immediately adjacent to the Reed Lake property as well as certain other adjacent exploration properties, which are held by VMS.

The letter of intent contemplates that the parties will enter into a definitive joint venture agreement respecting the Reed Lake property and the two claims immediately south of the Reed Lake property. HudBay would obtain a 70% interest in the joint venture and VMS would obtain a 30% interest. Upon execution of the definitive joint venture agreement, HudBay will make certain cash payments to VMS in satisfaction of its obligation to earn back in to the property and as consideration for VMS transferring the southern claims to the joint venture. In turn, VMS will abandon all disputes respecting the location of the boundary between the Reed Lake property and the southern claims.

Upon establishment of the joint venture, HudBay will act as operator with authority and discretion as to the exploration and potential development of the Reed Lake property and will have exclusive rights to purchase and market the ore produced from the property. HudBay would also provide full financing for VMS's proportionate share of the costs to develop the property, which would be repayable solely from VMS's share of cash flow generated by the project.

The letter of intent also contemplates that, concurrently with the entering into of the joint venture agreement, HudBay and VMS will enter into an option agreement which will grant HudBay options to earn a 70% interest in four adjacent properties held by VMS, including the Tower Zone and Super Zone properties. Upon making certain cash payments and meeting work commitments over two to three years, HudBay will earn a 70% interest in the applicable property and a new joint venture will be formed between HudBay and VMS which will have substantially the same terms as the Reed Lake joint venture. Any failure to make the required cash payments and work commitments with respect to a particular property would cause that property to revert to VMS but would not affect HudBay's option over the other properties.

"We are pleased to enter into this letter of intent with VMS," said W. Warren Holmes, HudBay's executive vice chairman and interim chief executive officer. "We look forward to working with VMS to advance the Reed Lake property towards feasibility and to advance the exploration of several promising targets on the option properties. Bringing the Reed Lake deposit into production will provide feed for our Flin Flon concentrator and create numerous jobs in the area."

The establishment of the joint venture and option arrangements is contingent on the parties reaching mutually satisfactory definitive agreements and on receiving all necessary corporate and third party approvals. HudBay and VMS anticipate that definitive agreements can be completed by May 31, 2010.
