MacDonald Mines Acquires 100% Interest in Nickel, PGM & Base Metal Property in the LaRonge District of Saskatchewan

      April 9, 2009

MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:BMK) ("MacDonald” or the "Company") announces it has signed an amended Letter of Agreement with the Canadian Corporation “210829 Ontario Limited” (the “Optionor”) to acquire a 100% undivided right, title and interest in the Nielsen-Chisholm Property, a land package that bears strong similarity to the Company’s land holdings in the James Bay Lowlands area of Ontario.

MacDonald originally entered into a Letter of Agreement with the Optionor to acquire 75% of the Nielsen-Chisholm Property, as detailed in the Company’s December 18, 2008 press release. Further geological/ geophysical study and realized potential of the Property fueled the acquisition of the remaining interest.

Kirk McKinnon, President & CEO of MacDonald Mines stated, “After further assessment of all the available data, and based on the strong recommendation from our collective group of exploration consultants vis-à-vis the Property’s potential, we decided to acquire the full 100% interest. The infrastructure is excellent with easy access, which will allow our crews to work out of LaRonge, providing major cost savings versus helicopter exploration. We are moving forward with the first phase of what we believe to be an extensive exploration program this summer, and once “break up” has concluded and crews are able to access the site, we will commence exploration work and prepare targets for drilling. We remain cognizant that we must continue to ensure the Company’s ability to operate during these most difficult times, but we are also aware that there will be a turn in this economy and we need to position MacDonald with properties of qualified substance.”

Compelling Geology Amplifies the Potential of the Property

The Nielsen-Chisholm area is surrounded by a number of important Ni-Cu deposits within the southern portion of the LaRonge Belt. Dr. Larry Hulbert, D.Sc., P. Geo., a consulting geologist who has extensive knowledge of the LaRonge district stated, “Compelling geophysical and geological attributes along with anomalous nickel and chrome lake sediment geochemistry suggest that the this is a highly prospective area for nickel-copper sulphide mineralization. It is part of the much more extensive Proterozoic LaRonge - Lynn Lake Greenstone Belt. The Lynn Lake Greenstone Belt hosted the prolific Lynn Lake nickel-copper deposits which were mined continuously for 24 years by Sherritt Gordon Mines Ltd. The proximity of the area to the town of LaRonge, and the road and rail access to copper and nickel smelters at Flin Flon and Thompson make this a very attractive property to explore for nickel-copper sulphide deposits.”

Property is Surrounded by Other Deposits

Nickel-copper deposits including the Clam Lake, Gochager-MAL Lakes, and Nemeiben Lake deposits surround the Nielsen-Chisholm area while the prolific Lynn-Lake nickel-copper mining camp occurs in the northern portion of the belt. The former producing Anglo Rouyn copper-gold mine is also situated in close proximity to the Property.

Nickel-copper deposits to the north (Gochager Lake, MAL Lake), and southwest (Clam Lake) of the Bob Lake area have massive sulphide intersections with nickel grades in the 2.6% to 3.4% range, and with unusually high nickel:copper ratios (6:1 to 8:1). The nickel:copper ratios of the sulphides are uncharacteristically high for the associated host rock and suggest the sulphides could be related to a more primitive coeval part of the magmatic system yet to be recognized. The Lynn Lake nickel-copper deposits were in continuous production for 24 years ( 1953-1976). Eleven discrete ore bodies were mined for a total mine grade and tonnage of 20,151,146 tonnes of 1.02 % nickel, 0.53% copper. This was Canada’s third largest nickel producing area after Sudbury and Thompson.

      The Anglo Rouyn Mine

The Anglo Rouyn Mine is located approximately 10 km to the southeast of the Property and produced copper and gold from 1966 until 1972 (1.7Mt grading 1.7% copper, 1.2 g/t gold and 5.5 g/t silver). This deposit has affinities to a volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit and it is believed that the Nielsen-Chisholm area is underlain by similar geology to that which hosts the Anglo Rouyn deposit.

Previous geological mapping in the area covered by the recently completed airborne VTEM survey indicate that ultramafic rocks are present. It appears that they have distinct geophysical signatures and consequently it is envisaged that favorable environments for nickel, copper and PGE deposits will be defined.

      About the Nielsen-Chisholm Property

The Property comes with the compelling added features of geological knowledge, proximal mines, mineral showings and a new helicopter-borne VTEM survey.

The Property is proximal to a number of mineral occurrences with historical resources which include, on trend, both magmatic nickel and VMS base metal deposits . MacDonald considered the merits of this joint-venture as it manages its exploration activities and expenditures in these very challenging economic times.

The Nielsen-Chisholm Property is located in the LaRonge District of Saskatchewan, and covers an area of 201 km2. The Property is largely covered in outwash sand with somewhat limited outcrop exposure. This physical feature offered very limited prospecting opportunity in the past. Apart from geological mapping carried out by the Saskatchewan Government, there appears to be limited historical exploration work conducted in the area.

MacDonald’s consultants Bill Nielsen, P. Geo. and Robin Chisholm, P. Geol. have conducted a preliminary review of available data and received an in-depth geophysical review and interpretation from Geotech’s three key geophysicists in order to validate the property’s exploration potential as reflected in the VTEM data.

Amended Terms of the December 2008 Option Agreement

Subject to Exchange approval, in order to acquire a 100% undivided right, title and interest in and to the property, the terms of the Amendment Agreement call for MacDonald to make the following payments to the Optionor: $25,000 cash, 1,250,000 common shares and 150,000 purchase share warrants which are exercisable at $0.40 per share for a period of 24 months from date of issuance.

All securities issued in connection with this transaction are subject to a 4 month hold period.

      RE: Traded Over 5,000,000 Shares

May have something to do with Noront.

      The Property

The now named "Saracourt Property" consists of approximately 36 claim blocks, which includes the northwest and southeast blocks, or 440 units, totaling 9000 hectares. It is located in the Sachigo Greenstone Belt in Northwestern Ontario quadrant of the James Bay Lowlands This area is currently undergoing extensive exploration driven by the recent significant nickel-copper-precious metal discovery by Noront Resources.

      Potential of the Property

The Property hosts several highly prospective base metal target areas. In 1970, a major international mining company conducted reconnaissance airborne geophysical surveys in the James Bay Lowlands. These surveys identified a number of high priority targets, which the company followed up with diamond drilling programs. The intention at that time was to explore for potential extensions of the Thompson nickel belt into Ontario.

MacDonald is in the midst of outlining an exploration program, which will focus on drilling approximately three high priority targets before "freeze up", usually at the end of October. Target selection will be based on historical information that was the catalyst for the Company to enter into this arrangement to acquire the Property.

MacDonald Mines Acquires Nickel Property in the Sudbury District

      TORONTO, May 7 /CNW/

      - MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. (TSX Venture:BMK - News; "MacDonald" or the "Company") announces it has acquired the Worthington Property in the Sudbury District of Northern Ontario. The Property consists of a patented claim on ground that covers a new, never-tested portion of the Worthington offset dyke - a significant nickel, copper, and platinum-group-element ore carrier in the South Range of the world-class Sudbury Structure.

The Property is located immediately north of Highway 17 approximately 40 kilometres west of the town of Copper Cliff and 1.5 kilometres east of the community of Nairn Centre.

As per the agreement and subject to Exchange approval, MacDonald Mines has the option to acquire a 100% interest in the Worthington Property, in consideration of exploration work and cash payments totalling CA$130,000 over the next three years. MacDonald must also issue 350,000 common shares and 175,000 purchase share warrants which are exercisable at $0.25 per share for a period of 24 months from date of issuance. All securities issued with respect to this transaction are subject to a four-month hold.

      Nickel-Bearing Structure

The Worthington quartz diorite dyke is a 10-11 kilometre long offset feature which hosts the new Totten Mine discovery (10.1 million tonnes grading 1.5 % nickel, 2.0 % copper and 4.8 g/t PGEs) of VALE-Inco as well as the adjacent early-discovered Worthington Mine and Copper AER-Kidd Mine. The Totten Mine is actively being brought into production. These deposits are located approximately 8 kilometres to the northeast of the Property. The Worthington dyke also hosts FNX's Victoria Property located several kilometres to the northeast of the Totten Mine which hosts indicated reserves of 0.53M tons grading 1.2% Ni and 1.4% Cu.

Potential to Host Large-Scale Ni-Cu-PGE Mines

In the South Range, offset dykes and secondary structures host large-scale Ni-Cu-PGE mines and are of a size that, surprisingly, has yet to be fully tested by systematic drilling programs even after a century of mining in the region.

Hadyn Butler, P.Geo., Director states, "An outcrop located 50 meters to the west of the western boundary of the Property shows the blunt end of the Worthington offset dyke that hosts Sudbury-related sulphide mineralization. The blunt end dips south onto the Property and occurs there because the offset dyke intersects an older Nipissing diabase sill. At the Totten Mine, the same offset dyke also intersects a Nipissing diabase sill forming a blunt end. As a general rule, such structures appear to form traps to host nickel-copper-PGE sulphide mineralization in offset dykes."

MacDonald Mines is currently undertaking a surface magnetic and UTEM survey to define drill targets on the Property. The UTEM geophysical surveys are a proven technology in the Sudbury Mining Camp. This work is expected to be completed within the month. Anomalies generated from this work will be drill tested.

MacDonald Mines to option Assinica from Virginia

      2009-05-11 08:34 ET - News Release

      Mr. J.A. Kirk McKinnon reports

MACDONALD MINES ENTERS OPTION/JOINT VENTURE AGREEMENT WITH VIRGINIA MINES ON GOLD PROPERTY IN NORTHERN QUEBEC

MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. has signed an option/joint venture agreement with Virginia Mines Inc. on the Assinica property located in the Frotet-Evans (James Bay) region of Quebec, about 100 kilometres northwest of Chibougamau.

As per the agreement and subject to exchange approval, MacDonald Mines has the option to acquire a 50-per-cent interest in the Assinica property, in consideration of $2.5-million in exploration work to be carried out during the next four years, and cash payments totalling $130,000. MacDonald and Virginia will manage the project by committee with Virginia being the operator.

Property located in an extensive volcano-sedimentary belt

The property covers a land position of 79 claims covering almost 41 square kilometres and is hosted by an extensive volcano-sedimentary belt that also hosts Inmet Mining's Troilus gold-copper mine which has been in production since 1997. It overlaps a major lithological contact between the volcanic rocks of the Assinica group and the sediments of the Broadback group.

MacDonald Mines Initiates 2009 Summer Exploration Program on Nickel, PGM & Base Metal Property in the LaRonge District of Saskatchewan

TORONTO, June 17 /CNW/ - MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:BMK - News; "MacDonald" or the "Company") announces that it has mobilised an exploration crew to LaRonge Saskatchewan to begin ground follow up of the VTEM airborne geophysical survey completed in 2008 on the Nielsen-Chisholm Property. The program is designed to qualify the numerous high strength EM conductors generated by the survey for drill testing later in 2009. The program includes detailed prospecting, geologic mapping and BEEP MAT EM(TM) surveys as well as testing with a newly developed organic soil geochemical technique known to be effective in Saskatchewan.

      Employs Latest XRF Technology

The Company has also deployed its mobile Innovex 50, mobile XRF analytical unit to provide real time analyses of rock and soil samples generated by the program. This XRF unit being used is a state-of-the-art exploration tool that is currently used for accurate, in-the-field analysis of rocks and soils.

It is expected that the program will allow Company personnel to isolate the most prospective drill targets from the many known EM conductors present on the property in a fashion which is much quicker and better focused than previously possible. This advanced technology was not available to exploration companies in the 1960's, when the region was last explored intensively.

      Historical Mining District of LaRonge

The LaRonge area is host to what is known as the "LaRonge Horseshoe", an area related to the LaRonge Greenstone Belt that is known to host a large number of ultramafic hosted magmatic Cu-Ni deposits of the Lynn Lake type. This type of deposit is also prospective for platinum group elements (PGE) similar to the mined out Rottenstone Lake deposit located 95km northwest of the property. The property is bracketed by the Mac and Howard Lake Cu-Ni-PGE deposits.

The region is thought to be underlain by an extension of the metavolcanic rocks which host the former Anglo-Rouyn mine, a Cu-Au producer of the Volcanic Massive Sulphide (VMS) type which closed in 1975 as well as the un-mined Elizabeth lake deposit. The Nielsen-Chisholm property is considered by the Company to be highly prospective for both Magmatic and VMS type deposits in an area well known to host a large number of gold deposits in the LaRonge Gold Camp.

      About the Nielsen-Chisholm Property

The Property comes with the compelling added features of geological knowledge, proximal mines, mineral showings and a new helicopter-borne VTEM survey.

The Property is proximal to a number of mineral occurrences with historical resources which include, on trend, both magmatic nickel and VMS base metal deposits.

The Nielsen-Chisholm Property is located in the LaRonge District of Saskatchewan, and covers an area of 201 km(2). The Property is largely covered in outwash sand with somewhat limited outcrop exposure. This physical feature offered very limited prospecting opportunity in the past. Apart from geological mapping carried out by the Saskatchewan Government, there appears to be limited historical exploration work conducted in the area.

Robin Chisholm P.Geol of Taiga Consultants Ltd is the qualified person in regard to the technical data contained within this news release and oversees all aspects of the exploration program.

The Company employs currently accepted Quality Control-Quality Assurance practises including insertion of Certified Reference Standards in regard to its sampling and analytical practises and will be employing Acme Labs of Vancouver to complete all of its assay requirements.

WARNING: The statements made in this news release may contain forward-looking statements that may involve a number of risks and uncertainties. Actual events or results could differ materially from expectations and projections set out herein.

The TSX Venture Exchange does not accept responsibility for the adequacy

BMK has a fantastic property, (their JV property with Temex).
      It borders NOT and Fancamp....see

      http://www.platinex.com/images/maps/mcfaulds_intierra_map_la…

The target area is NOT's Eagle 1

We are waiting for NOT assays of Hole 49....they finished 51. What we are waiting for could drive everyone in the area of Eagle 1 into a very happy place next week.
      Nice to be neighbors.

      :eek::eek:......................NEEEEEWS....................:):)

      TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 11, 2009)

      - MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:BMK - News; "MacDonald" or the "Company") would like to provide a property and exploration update. MacDonald Mines holds over 88,000 hectares of quality land position in the James Bay Lowlands, McFauld's Lake area. The Company has since reacquired a 100% interest in its Big Mac Property that was previously joint-ventured with White Pine Resources.:)

MacDonald Mines is looking closely at its Hornby Property (a 54/46 joint venture with Temex Resources) located adjacent to the Fancamp Exploration, Spider/Freewest/KWG and Noront Resources claims. Over the past few years, this highly mineralized but localized area has produced some spectacular drill intersections of nickel/copper/PGE as well as chromite mineralization.

      Exploration Data Update & Overview

A review of available geophysical data would indicate that the chromite horizons defined by Freewest and its partners would pass through the northwest corner of both MacDonald's Hornby East and Hornby West claim groups. Drill holes very close to MacDonald Mines' northern Hornby claim boundary have reported chrome values of some significance.

An untested AEM response located in the northwest part of the Hornby East Claims displays a coincident magnetic signature that sits on the boundary of the Fancamp claims. It is quite possible that this represents a part of the sequence that hosts chrome mineralization.

Spider Resources' McFauld's Anomaly #7 represents a VMS target. The interpreted strike extension of this target further to the south and west lies within MacDonald's East Hornby Claim Group.

The Company is currently reviewing its complete database of exploration results from the area. A comprehensive review of the 100% owned McNugget and Big Mac Properties, as well as all of our joint-ventured properties, with special emphasis on those that are proximal to Noront, is currently underway with the objective of finalizing an exploration program and budget.

Drilling Campaigns Show Nickel Mineralization over Significant Widths

MacDonald's drilling campaigns in 2007 and 2008 did intersect low-grade nickel mineralization over significant widths in several locations on the McNugget Property. Ultramafic rocks have been intersected and by interpretation this would indicate a potential to host both nickel/copper and chrome mineralization. Hole MN07-39 intersected 0.36% Ni over 4.5 metres and 0.26% nickel over 27 metres in a gabbro unit. Hole MN07-46 encountered peridotite throughout its entire 170 metre length and assayed 0.18% Ni over 112 metres, including 0.20% Ni over 41 metres in an ultramafic volcanic sequence which indicates that the base of the geological sequence is present on MacDonald's property.

Significant Mining Experience and Expertise in James Bay Area

MacDonald Mines Initiates Private Placement Offering

MacDonald Mines has engaged IBK Capital Corp. to raise $1,000,000 through the sale of 5,000,000 flow-through units ("FT Units") at $0.20 each in a brokered private placement. Each FT Unit consists of one common share of MacDonald to be issued as a "flow-through share" and one-half of one non-flow-through common share purchase warrant. Each common share purchase warrant will entitle the holder thereof to purchase one common share of the capital stock of MacDonald that is not a "flow-through share" at an exercise price of $0.25 per common share at any time for 2 years from the date of issuance.

An additional $125,000 will be raised through a non-brokered private placement on the same terms and conditions as noted above.

In connection with this financing arrangement MacDonald will pay compensation to IBK Capital Corp. as follows: A cash commission of 10% of the amount raised, and 10% of the Units sold in the form of broker warrants ("Broker Warrant"). Each Broker Warrant entitles the holder to acquire one (1) Common Share of MacDonald at $0.20 per Common Share for a period of four (4) years from the date of issuance.

      TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 9, 2009)

      - MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:BMK - News; "MacDonald" or the "Company") announces that extensive preliminary exploration activity has been completed on the Nielsen-Chisholm Property located NW of La Ronge, Saskatchewan

The program was designed to evaluate numerous high-strength EM conductors indicated by a helicopter-borne VTEM geophysical survey completed in 2008. The focus of the program was to qualify the EM conductors generated by the survey for drill testing. Evaluation of target areas was accomplished through: detailed geological mapping and prospecting; grab sampling of sulphide-bearing rocks; Beep Mat TM and VLF-EM geophysical surveys; and targeted organic soil geochemical sampling.

      Numerous High-Priority Targets

Twenty-three high priority conductive anomalies were examined over the course of the summer field season. Many of the conductors were found to be associated with sub-cropping sulphide mineralisation enriched in Cu, Ni, Zn and Ag. The organic soil sampling has successfully allowed discrimination of the conductors by outlining a number of multi-element geochemical anomalies. A minority of the mineralized zones was previously explored in the 1960's but did not obtain the benefit of modern exploration techniques outlined in the release and most of the targets represent new occurrences.

The Company has employed the services of Dr. Larry Hulbert to interpret the soil geochemical and geophysical data. He is a well-known geologist with many years experience in magmatic Ni-Cu-platinoid exploration and was the Geological Survey of Canada commodity expert in this field for many years. Utilizing past practices, Dr. Hulbert has employed proprietary geochemical discrimination tools to interpret the Property soil geochemistry on targets he has identified through interpretation of new Company airborne data, and his own data.

Dr. Hulbert has identified eight highly attractive drill targets on the property. These targets are interpreted to have strong potential for Magmatic sulphide mineralisation (Ni-Cu-Platinum Group Elements) and Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) mineralization.

A program of diamond drilling will be initiated September 15 over a minimum of eight targets for a total of 2,000m of drilling. The Company is very pleased with the summer's exploration results and is anxious to drill test targets that have been defined by a combination of geological, geophysical and geochemical methods.

      Favourable Geological Setting

The La Ronge area is host to what is known as the "La Ronge Horseshoe", an area related to the La Ronge Greenstone Belt that is known to host a significant number of VMS, gold, and ultramafic hosted magmatic Ni-Cu-PGE deposits. Recent geological mapping completed by the Company has confirmed the presence of exhalative horizons in metavolcanic rocks thought to represent the extension of the "Anglo-Rouyn Horizon". This horizon hosts the former Anglo-Rouyn Cu-Au mine which closed in 1975 and the un-mined Elizabeth Lake Cu-Zn deposit, both of which are classified as VMS-type deposits. Both deposits are associated with laterally extensive exhalative horizons similar to those observed on the Nielsen-Chisholm Property.

      About the Nielsen-Chisholm Property

The Nielsen-Chisholm Property is located in the La Ronge District of Saskatchewan, and covers an area of 201 km2.

Robin Chisholm P.Geol of Taiga Consultants Ltd is the qualified person in regard to the technical data contained within this news release and oversees all aspects of the exploration program.

The Company employs currently accepted Quality Control-Quality Assurance practices including insertion of Certified Reference Standards in regard to its sampling and analytical practices and has employed Acme Labs of Vancouver to complete all of its analytical requirements.

      Administration

The Board granted the issuance of 1,825,000 stock options on September 8, 2009 to Directors, Officers and Consultants of the Corporation under the terms of an Incentive Stock Option Plan filed with the TSX Venture Exchange and approved by shareholders at the last AGM held on June 11, 2009. The options are exercisable at $0.135 "per share" for a period of 4 years and are subject to a four month hold period from the date of issuance.

MacDonald Mines Completes Major Review on its Ring of Fire Properties; Drilling Planned for February

      4:04 PM ET, January 15, 2010

TORONTO, ONTARIO, Jan 15, 2010 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. (BMK) ("MacDonald Mines" or the "Company") announces that it has completed a comprehensive review of all exploration work on its properties in the Ring of Fire area of James Bay. The catalyst for this initiative was the emergence of Cliffs Natural Resources ("Cliffs") as an interested party along with Noront Resources ("Noront") in the acquisition of Freewest Resources ("Freewest").

If the impending Freewest shareholders meeting scheduled for January 25, 2010 approves the Cliffs - Freewest transaction then MacDonald Mines believes that this will be the tipping point for renewed exploration in southern James Bay. The total quoted investment required to develop the chromite mine is in the order of $1.5 billion with infrastructure estimated to comprise $700 million of the total. This significantly changes the economics for other potential discoveries and exploration companies such as MacDonald Mines can now encompass a broader range of targets.

Review of Data Indicates Numerous Signatures Similar to Noront and Freewest

MacDonald Mines initiated a total review of its land holdings, and presents its opinions relating to previous drill results and all geophysical data. From the start, MacDonald Mines airborne survey's over all its properties were flown at a minimum of 100-metre line spacing. The resultant quality data in conjunction with new modeling techniques and interpretation, will play a major role in the development of future exploration initiatives.

An in-depth evaluation and re-interpretation of the geology has indicated that the Company's King, Hornby, Richmond, Bay, Adelaide, Wellington and McNugget properties all encompass geology with numerous anomalous geophysical signatures similar to those seen on adjacent Noront, Freewest and Probe properties.

The re-analysis of the Company's existing data by Hadyn Butler, P.Geo. and Randall Salo, P. Geo. was augmented by the addition of Quentin Yarie, P. Geo. who provided an in-depth geophysical perspective. The resulting collaboration and review provided MacDonald Mines with several targets that warrant further exploration work including diamond drilling. MacDonald Mines also employed the services of Dr. Larry Hulbert, D.Sc.,P. Geo. in the analysis of the data.

Hadyn Butler and Dr. Larry Hulbert have extensive experience and knowledge of Archean type mineralization patterns (nickel, gold and VMS) in Northern Ontario and elsewhere. Hadyn Butler has more than 40 years of geological experience and over 30 years consulting experience with the former INCO Ltd worldwide. Dr. Larry Hulbert, is a recognized expert in magmatic Ni-Cu-platinoid exploration and formerly worked at the Geological Survey of Canada with a global focus on nickel deposits.

      Hornby Property

MacDonald Mines Hornby Property is located directly southwest of the Freewest land position. The Company believes that after conducting the review of its airborne survey, the Hornby Property has the potential to host the extension of the Freewest chrome deposits.

      McNugget Property

A review of the existing data on the McNugget Property has shown that it hosts both geophysical and geological signatures indistinguishable from those of seen on Noront's properties. Of particular interest were the following results from MacDonald's 2007 drill program:

      - Drill hole MN07-46 encountered sulphide in peridotite throughout its entire 170 meter length and assayed 0.18% nickel over 112.0 meters including 0.20% nickel over 41.0 meters.

      - Drill hole MN07-47 encountered 0.36% Cu, 10.6% Zn, 3.7% Pb and 115 g/t Ag over 3.0 meters in volcanic rocks.

The extensive disseminated nickeliferous sulphide intersection in hole MN07-46 indicates that appropriate units have a strong potential to host nickel deposits within McNugget. Furthermore, significant anomalous samples of gold, copper and zinc were intersected by reconnaissance drilling.

Re-evaluation of existing borehole locations by Quentin Yarie, P. Geo., indicates that the boreholes were located based on anomalous geophysical responses from Max-Min data collected over airborne VTEM anomalies. Further review of these data sets has indicated that the Max-Min anomalous responses were not coincident with the deeper penetrating VTEM data, suggesting that many of the VTEM anomalies were unlikely to have been adequately tested or explained.

Chromite, Nickel and Base Metals Targeted for February Diamond Drill Program

MacDonald Mines is currently remodeling drill targets for both nickel and base metals based on its new models and re-interpretation of past data and is planning a diamond drill program for February. The Company also intends to further investigate the geophysical anomaly associated with Freewest's chromite discovery during this upcoming diamond drill program.

MacDonald Mines also believes that exploration from 2005 to 2008 may have identified chrome in a number of it's previous drill holes on the McNuggett Property. MacDonald has confirmed these drill locations and will undertake a total analysis of the drill core, with expected completion by the end of January.

MacDonald Mines Exploring Synergistic Opportunities with Key Companies

The Company understands and recognizes the high cost of exploration in the area and these costs will only increase given the likelihood of having to conduct deeper drilling in order to quantify many of its identified targets. Recognizing this, MacDonald Mines will be looking at any synergistic opportunities with key explorers in the region. MacDonald Mines does however feel very strongly that the Company maintain a significant presence and an active exploration role in James Bay.

      Ring of Fire Well Mineralized

Hadyn Butler commented as follows, "The greenstone belts of the "Ring of Fire" in northern Ontario are remarkably well mineralized. The combination of nickel sulphide (Ni-Cu-PGE), VMS (Cu-Zn-Ag), chromitite, potentially vanadiferous titanomagnetite, lead and gold is rare. VMS drill intersections in the southern portion of the "Ring of Fire" occur over a distance of at least 70 kilometers in a similar stratigraphic suite - from MacDonald's McNugget Property to Spider/KWG's earlier discoveries north of McFaulds Lake.

Disseminated nickel sulphide found previously by MacDonald on the McNugget Property are located 45 kilometers from, and are in similar stratigraphy to Noront's Double Eagle high-grade Ni-Cu-PGE discoveries - indicating a series of large mafic-ultramafic actively mineralized magma chambers around the nose of the "Ring of Fire." Freewest's chromitites occur in these chambers adjacent to and on strike from very large differentiated mafic-ultramafic chambers that appear to host nickel sulphide, chromitites and vanadium-potential titanomagnetites across MacDonald's properties."

"In short," continues Mr. Butler, "MacDonald appears to have similar stratigraphy and similar drill intersects of mineralization potential. The scale of these mineralized chambers is such that exploration to date has only established their presence and mineralization types. Indeed, current exploration in the Ring of Fire should still be considered due to the large strike length of the pregnant greenstones. Apart from known discoveries, there are many geophysical targets yet to be drilled."

Management Team Adds Vice President of Exploration

Kirk McKinnon, President & CEO is pleased to announce that Quentin Yarie, P.Geo., has formally accepted a key management position with the Company as Vice President of Exploration.

Quentin Yarie, P.Geo., brings over 20 years project management and business development experience. In addition to his most recent position as a Senior management with Geotech Ltd., Mr. Yarie has held positions of increasing responsibility with a number of Canadian-based geophysical service providers. From 1992-2001 Mr. Yarie was a partner of a specialized environmental and engineering consulting group where he managed a number of large projects including the ESA of the Sydney Tar Ponds and the Maritime and Northeast Pipeline project.

Mr. Yarie augments the Company's strong geological consulting team of Hadyn Butler, P. Geo., Dr. Larry Hulbert, D.Sc., P.Geo. and Taiga Consultants by adding a geophysical focus to MacDonald's exploration strategy.

TORONTO, ONTARIO, May 31, 2010 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- MacDonald Mines Exploration (BMK) ("MacDonald" or "the Company") announces that the 2010 exploration drilling program on its McNugget Property has discovered new volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralization of substance. Preliminary assays are reported below with follow-up full assays pending and will be reported when received. An analysis of technical data completed in February 2010 found magnetic and electromagnetic ("EM") targets that were not previously explained. During the May portion of the 2010 drilling campaign, a Crone Geophysics' down-hole EM system was used for drill target control - it has been established that McNugget VMS horizons show strongest conductivity where copper (Cu) content is highest.

Matagami-type VMS Camp on McNugget Possible

Hadyn R. Butler, P.Geo. has been retained to consult based on his extensive knowledge of the producing nickel (Ni) and VMS mines. Mr. Butler has over 44 years of geological experience with over 30 years consulting experience with INCO and has enjoyed substantial success in mineral exploration.

Mr. Butler notes, "Regionally, McNugget has three VMS mineralized greenstone fold limbs (to the north, west and southeast - likely the same stratigraphic suite) all of which have now yielded VMS mineralization over a potential cumulative strike length of approximately 20 km. A new VMS camp with characteristics similar to those seen at Matagami or Noranda in Quebec is now conceivable (i.e., larger VMS deposits with satellite deposits along strike)."

On the north fold limb, a fence of 5 new diamond drill holes has intercepted Cu-rich VMS along a strike length of approx. 1 km (still open along strike and to depth) with preliminary assays of greater than 1% Cu. Drill hole MN-10-90 had a greater than 4.5m intersection with a greater than 1% Cu zone, and drill hole MN10-102 a 15m greater than 1% Cu zone (1% is the limit of the preliminary assay technique used). This greater than 1 km zone also has strong zinc (Zn) values.

A second VMS target at the nose of the north and west fold limbs appears to be a plunging Zn-Cu-rich VMS body. Drill hole MN10-104 cut spectacular 10cm wide bands of sphalerite (Zn sulphide) throughout a 30m wide massive sulphide horizon. Drill hole MN10-112 (assays pending) was drilled along strike and at a greater depth to the east (approximately 100m) on this body. Field analysis of drill core suggests a potential VMS feeder zone in the vicinity.

Massive Sulphides Intersected in all Drill Holes

Massive sulphides were intersected in all May 2010 drill locations with widths varying from 2m to greater than 30m. One of the drill sites (two holes) on the McNugget Property intersected massive magnetite as well as associated ultra mafic materials. This location is characterized by a long magnetic high (magnetite) with an associated electromagnetic conductor (VTEM). These characteristics are very similar to those of the Freewest/Cliffs chromite discovery. The core from these two intersections is currently being tested for chromite. Additional geophysics will be planned along this long trend (1.5 kilometres) to aid in interpreting the potential of this zone to host chromite.

      Big Mac Property

MacDonald's February 2010 re-interpretation created an initial program of 5 high-priority high-resolution ground gravity survey transects for both chromium (Cr) and nickel-copper (Ni-Cu) mineralization. Transect models were based directly on known mineralization signatures discovered within the "Ring of Fire". The Company's claim block contains both discrete and strike-extensive coincident airborne magnetic-VTEM and gravity anomalies within stratigraphically favorable geological packages with geophysical signatures similar to the significant Cr discoveries of Freewest and KWG-Spider near McFaulds Lake. Three gravity drill targets all exhibited anomalous densities coincident with local magnetic trends and have been interpreted to be steeply plunging dense bodies. Drilling was completed on one these targets in April 2010. Assays are pending. One of the gravity transects identified a density anomaly coincident with a discrete conductivity (VTEM) anomaly and offset magnetic feature that will be drill investigated for nickel.

      Hulbert-Salo Property Exhibits Voisey's Bay-type Targets

MacDonald is designing an exploration program for its highly prospective Hulbert-Salo Property which appears to host an intact intrusive complex with potential for Voisey's Bay-type targets, as interpreted by Dr. Larry Hulbert. The Company's airborne geophysical survey (VTEM) outlined very conductive, discrete targets within a layered magnetic structure. The high conductivities observed are typical of magmatic massive sulphides containing nickel. To optimize the Company's chances of success, a surface time domain geophysical survey is being designed that will focus on the potential nickel targets. A Crone Geophysics' system will be used in the event that other more conductive (superconductors) and/or deeper targets were not detected by the airborne survey.

      Exploration to Recommence June 2010

The next phase of exploration will commence in late June 2010. MacDonald believes that there is potential for its James Bay properties to host both Nickel and Chrome on the McNugget, Big Mac and Hulbert/Salo Properties.

As the assays become available, 3D target modeling will be based on assays, geology, magnetic susceptibility, conductance and so forth. Further drilling will provide greater detail on three selected VMS targets as well as the strongest potential Ni-Cu targets. It is anticipated that deeper drilling will be required to test the high conductance targets mapped by the geophysical programs used during May.

KWG's declaration that the consultation process with the First Nation Communities regarding their proposed railway would be best conducted if they were able to first accumulate the needed information in which to have a knowledgeable consultation is echoed by MacDonald. It is the Company's belief that the responsible way to proceed with a first-time drill program on the Hulbert-Salo Property would be to first collect information so that the Company could then have a fully informed consultation relating to drill targets, drilling procedures and utilization of personnel from the local communities to assist in those efforts, prior to commencing drilling activity in any new area. Through this collection phase, the Company will do everything possible to maintain the same respect for the environment it has shown throughout James Bay and perform this work with the smallest footprint possible. MacDonald's previous and current exploration activities have all been conducted on and in areas surrounding its McNugget and Big Mac properties where the Company has signed an agreement with the First Nations community of Webequie, and continues to have a strong working relationship with the Community.

The completion of the first phase of drilling has provided MacDonald with considerable insight into target modeling and selection and this will be very valuable as the Company moves to drill the Nickel targets.

      On-site Quality Assurance/Quality Control Measures

All diamond drill (half core) samples were collected and sealed on site and shipped under chain of custody supervision to the ACTLABS sample preparation laboratory in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Analyses are performed by ACTLABS laboratories (ISO/IEC 17025 certified) either in Ancaster or Thunder Bay, Ontario. All core samples were selected by the MacDonald Mines qualified site geologist, and were cut in half on site by diamond saw. For security, the remaining half core was then resealed in the original core boxes. Individual half core samples were labelled, placed in plastic sample bags and sealed. Groups of samples were placed into sealed and durable rice bags then shipped out by air transport. Remaining coarse reject portions of all samples remain in storage at the ACTLABS preparation laboratory storage facility at Thunder Bay.

Independent Quality Assurance and Quality Control Protocol

A QA/QC program has been implemented to monitor all assays from the current drilling program. Samples are assembled as batches and are continuously shipped from the site for immediate testing. Included in each batch of samples are certified reference standards (every 20 samples) and blank samples comprised of sterile drill core placed in at random locations (every 20-30 samples).

Was könnte für BMK sprechen?
