Air Products scores turnkey gas supply contract

Air Products has attained a contract to supply its SunSource Solutions gases, equipment and services for its Malaysian customer, rumored to be SunPower at its Melaka, Malaysia crystalline PV facility. The turnkey gas supply contract incorporates bulk and specialty gases, specialty chemicals and related gas distribution equipment for the Malaysian facility. Furthermore, the contract comprises of a long-term supply of on-site nitrogen, hydrogen, argon, oxygen and specialty gases like silane, ammonia and nitrogen trifluoride.

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. (March 10, 2011) – Air Products (NYSE: APD) today announced it has signed an agreementwith Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. to provide gaseous nitrogen to Samsung Electronics’ fabs in the Hwaseong-Giheung area, Gyeonggi Province,South Korea.

Air Products will build a new nitrogen plant at its Hwaseong site and an underground pipeline for nitrogen supply to Samsung’s fabs in the Hwaseong-Giheung area. The plant is expected to go onstream in the spring of 2012. Air Products will also build purification and liquid nitrogen backup systems.
