Am 31. Juli 1964 kam Jim Reeves zusammen mit seinem Manager bei einem Flugzeugabsturz ums Leben. Ihr Kleinflugzeug zerschellte während eines Unwetters beim Landeanflug auf Nashville.

Cockney - mit Sunshine Superman hast du meinen absoluten Lieblingssong von Donovan gebracht. Er kam übrigens im gleichen Jahr wie das Super Girl in die Charts (1966).

Leider aber ist von Sunshine weit und breit keine Spur. Habe schon wieder den halben Vormittag Schnee geschaufelt. Leise rieselt der Schnee, und in knapp 10 Monaten ist Weihnachten ...

Ich mache also einen Schwenk in die Countryecke mit einem passenden Song eines Sängers mit den sanften und romantischen Tönen.

Das Supergirl

Iguana, das Supergirl von Reamonn erinnert mich an einen anderen Song, der vor knapp vier Jahrzehnten erfolgreich war. Graham Bonney war der Interpret, ein, wie ich finde, sehr sympathischer Junge. Und während ich dies schreibe, meine ich, dass wir ihn hier schon hatten, bin mir aber nicht sicher.

"Supergirls" waren die folgenden Interpretinnen zweifellos auch. Aber ich habe leider ein bisschen zu lange an meinem Posting herumgebastelt, so dass mir doch tatsächlich der geplante reibungslose Übergang zu # 4051 abhanden gekommen ist ...


….. die Narretei hat wohl ein Ende, aber die Folgen sind noch nicht ganz aus der Welt. Aus zuverlässiger Quelle (bayerischer Rundfunk)war zu vernehmen, dass am Aschermittwoch regelmässig die Praxen der Frauenärzte gestürmt werden und die „Pille danach“ der grosse Renner ist.

Aber Marianne Faithfull hatte bestimmt andere Beweggründe, als sie uns in den 60er Jahren den französischen Klassiker „Plaisir d’Amour“ - zwar noch mit zarter Stimme, aber doch schon auf ihre unverwechselbare Art & Weise - zu Gehör brachte ....

...bis dass er wieder aufersteht nutzen wir die zeit und wenden wir uns mal wieder ein paar erwärmenden musikalischen noten zu – Reamonn sind eine band, die zwar aus dem radio recht bekannt sein dürfte, aber wegen dem massiven airplay wohl meist nur auf ihre hit-balladen wie „Supergirl“ oder „Star“ festgemacht wird, was jedoch ihrem breit gefächerten repertoire an großartigen songs nicht wirklich gerecht wird. songs wie „Alright“, „7th Son“, „Waiting there for you“ sind wirklich hörenswert, nicht zuletzt dank der charismatischen stimme des irischen frontmannes Rea Garvey...
....nicht zu vergessen das meisterwerk „Life is a dream“...
