Ob long oder short, es stehen einem bei jeder kräftigen Bewegung die Schweißperlen auf der Stirn.

Aber im ernst: Ich mag noch nicht so recht glauben, dass die nächste Abwärtswelle vor der Tür steht. Sonst bauen die in Kolumbien demnächst wohl wieder Kokain statt Kaffee an.

The next daily cycle is within August 19th-23rd. I wouldn´t dare to say it is a low or a high since the market has hinted a buy signal since Thursday August 15th by the 8 exp. daily ma crossing above the 20 day simple ma, and this is a pretty accurate signal. The problem with the crossing is that it has not still confirmed with a nice action. Also the last 1/3 of August has been positive for the majority of years from the fundamental side of things.
The worst enemy the coffee market has been having for months to develop some decent rally is the devaluation of the Brazilian Real which got to almost 2.40 this week.
In the weeklies this is the second week that it makes higher high and higher lows which regularly has a positive connotation and the bullish weekly engulfing from last week has not been confirmed sice this week´s is a harami which is brakes have been applied to the move upwards.
Colombia is preparing itself for a general strike starting Monday August 19th. It is a strike where most of the agricultural segments will participate as well as some trucking organizations and the general health services of the country. This could paralize the flow of products for some time which coould cause disruptions in the normal flow of things, including coffee.
