...das dürfte für die Industrieländer sicherlich stimmen, zumindest sind hier kaum mehr Steigerungen der Absatzzahlen denkbar. LENOVO agiert aber überwiegend in den Schwellenländern - und da haben viele eben kein Geld für Tablet-Spielzeuge als "sinnvolle Ergänzung zum PC".

Sollte LENOVO nur 5% der derzeitigen Gewinne von SAMSUNG und APPLE für sich vereinnahmen können, so würde das eine Steigerung der jetzigen Gewinne um 500% bedeuten. Mit einem Aktienkurs von 4 EURO wäre ich dann wirklich sehr, sehr zufrieden.

Dass es so kommt ist nicht gesichert! Da aber die Wahrscheinlichkeit dieses Szenarios erheblich größer ist als ein Lottogewinn, bleibe ich investiert - jedenfalls so lange wie "die Story" stimmt.

Und was würde denn derzeit gegen LENOVO sprechen? Die Gefahr, dass die Firma wegen "zu geringer Größe" einfach untergebuttert wird, scheint doch immer geringer zu werden. Auch mangelnde Innovationskraft kann man LENOVO nicht attestieren.

Freut mich...unter anderem waren es auch deine Analysen, die bei dem heftigen Rücksetzer dafür sorgten, dass mich nicht der Mut bei Lenovo verlassen hat!
Und auch weiter sieht es langfristig sowohl fundamental als auch charttechnisch bombig aus.
Allerdings schwant mir nach dem heutigen Tag nichts Gutes, was HK gleich betrifft

Lenovo Is the Cheapest Name in Tech

Shares of Lenovo(LNVGY) are up 60% over the past six months, but this company still deserves more respect from the market.

Granted, being the leader in a dying PC industry doesn't provide much cachet on the Street. But Lenovo's numbers suggests that PCs aren't dying at all -- at least not in China. What's more, the company is in the midst of diversifying away from that business, and its recent fourth-quarter results suggest Lenovo is poised to deliver more gains.

As PC rivals Dell(DELL_) and Hewlett-Packard(HPQ_) are struggling to hold market share, the Chinese computer giant continues its impressive run after posting record fourth-quarter earnings of $205 million, up 34% from a year before. Revenue rose 12% year over year to $9.36 billion.
Earnings per share were $1.99, or $1.96 on a diluted basis.

What's more, the company was able to post a profit for the first time in its smartphone division.

That means it's gaining traction in that business, even though it's not an immediate threat to Apple(AAPL_) or Samsung.

The company reported that continues to outgrow the broader market, particularly in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, where it outgrew the market by 36 points. In EMEA, Lenovo has amassed a record 11.1% market share.

Lenovo is doing this while strengthening its lead in China, where it currently holds a 36.7% share of market. This means that if PCs are indeed dying, nobody took the time to explain this to Lenovo.

That close to 90% of the company's business comes from PCs is remarkable, especially in the current climate, where the death of PCs is being screamed everywhere.

The travails of the PC industry are often used as a bear argument against Lenovo. This is understandable.

For instance, even though Lenovo is the brand of choice for one out of every three PCs sold in China, a market with a population of more than 1 billion people, the profit is not as attractive relative to the volume sold. The issue is that PCs are a low-margin business.

But, as I noted, Lenovo understands that it needs to diversify. To that end, mobile devices are becoming an increasingly important part of the company's strategy. And it's beginning to show in the numbers. For instance, in this quarter, mobile devices contributed to 11% of overall revenue.


While this is not a breathtaking change, it is still progress. Besides, it's not as if Lenovo is struggling to hold PC market share. Meanwhile, Lenovo is rumored to be weighing a bid for Research In Motion(RIMM_), and the company said it would consider RIM among other options, according to Bloomberg.

It's a move that makes too much sense to not happen, and it's something I discussed at TheStreet last year, long before these rumors surfaced. In that article, I wrote the following:


Lenovo deserves more love than it gets from investors. While the company is operating on all cylinders, it is still a relatively unknown. But I think with its tablet and smartphone objectives this is all about to change. It is not out of the realm of possibility that Lenovo might consider making a play for a company such as Research In Motion. I can't think of a better way for it to make a splash on the market while also announcing its presence in the U.S. in the most authoritative way.


If Lenovo's mobile ambitions are to be taken seriously, this is a move it has to make. While the company is taking meaningful small steps, it may have to be reminded of how fruitful was its giant leap to buy IBM's PC business back in 2005. This is the same scenario. Making a play for RIM will yield similar to greater results -- especially in its own home country of China where it is competing with both ZTE and Huawei for smartphone share.

That the company has made this much progress in such a short period of time is remarkable. But Lenovo is anything but content. It's taken on prominent names such as HP, Dell, etc. and won. It now has its eyes set on Apple and Samsung in the mobile device and tablet market. That's a pretty tall task. Then again, so was growing a morbid PC business. But Lenovo's management figured out a way to succeed.

Despite the market's pessimism about PCs, the stock looks too cheap at this level to ignore. In the long term this stock can hit $30 as Lenovo gains more mobile device market share. But unless investors remove their existing PC bias, it might be too late.

Lenovo macht Rekordgewinn
(shareribs.com) Hongkong 30.01.13 - Der chinesische PC-Hersteller Lenovo baut seine Position unter den weltweit größten Computerherstellern weiter aus. Im starken dritten Quartal konnte der Nettogewinn um ein Drittel auf ein Rekordhoch gesteigert werden.

Lenovo hat für das vierte Quartal (3. Geschäftsquartal) einen Nettogewinn von 204,9 Mio. USD ausgewiesen und damit die Erwartungen der Analysten deutlich übertroffen. Der Gewinn hat ein Rekordhoch erreicht, obgleich der PC-Markt anhaltend schrumpft. Wie Marktforscher berichten, steht Lenovo kurz davor, Hewlett Packard als weltweit größter PC-Hersteller abzulösen. Der Umsatz wurde um 12 Prozent auf 9,4 Mrd. USD gesteigert. Der operative Gewinn stieg um 26 Prozent auf 243 Mio. USD. In selbst konnte das Unternehmen einen Umsatz von 4,1 Mrd. USD realisieren, 17 Prozent mehr, als noch im Vorjahreszeitraum.

Das Unternehmen bleibt aber nicht stehen, sondern weitet sein Geschäftsfeld aus. In China ist das Unternehmen bereits einer der führenden Smartphonehersteller und hat im dritten Quartal mit Tablets weltweit und Smartphones in China Geld verdient. Der Umsatz hier soll um 77 Prozent auf 998 Mio. USD gestiegen sein.

Analysten gehen davon aus, dass man mit dem Smartphone-Business auch international wachsen will. Gleichzeitig könnte Druck von außen wachsen, da beispielsweise taiwanesische Unternehmen preiswerte Tablets in China verkaufen wollen.

Lenovo korrigierten heute in Hongkong um 2,7 Prozent auf 8,30 HKD.

Lenovo Group Limited : Lenovo Outfits New Orleans Youth Education Town with Technology Donation

HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY), for their technology room. In celebration of the upcoming Super Bowl XLVII, the NFL and Lenovo, the official computer sponsor of the NFL, teamed up to surprise the local YET with this technology upgrade.

Lenovo's computer donation replaced the outdated workstations in the YET center's computer lab, and provided new machines for the staff to automate paper processes, track student activities and increase productivity.

"We couldn't be more thrilled and appreciative to have Lenovo donate the much needed hardware upgrade for the kids of the New Orleans YET," said Darrell Guy, Sr., New Orleans YET director. This generous donation will help our YET team to enhance our children's experience during their time spent here, as we continue to provide a safe place for children to learn and grow."

On their Lenovo All-In-One Desktop computers, the children who might not have PCs at home or access to the internet, will now be able to do homework, research various topics for their school projects and broaden their horizons.

"It was a privilege to see first-hand how the New Orleans YET initiative is truly making a positive impact in the community. Lenovo is delighted to provide the technology tools to help the YET program continue helping local youth and guiding them to reach their full potential," said David Rabin, executive director Marketing, Lenovo.

In addition to the technology donation, the children of the New Orleans YET were treated to a special USA Football clinic where they learned about the fundamentals of flag football alongside NFL players.

This special event included appearances from New Orleans Saints players Nich Eason, Akiem Hicks, Cameron Jordan and Michael Lewis; St. Louis Rams player Rodger Saffold; and former NFL players Tyrone Hughes and Clarence Verdin.

Ich denke mit der Zeit wird Lenovo bekannter.

Absolut richtig - viele europäische Investoren haben asiatische Titel zu wenig im Fokus - möglicherweise kein Vertrauen - Transparenz, politische Einflüsse usw.. - wollen sich aber auch nicht mit dem Markt und der anderen "Kultur" auseinandersetzen (Behauptung von mir).

In Zukunft wird dieser "Markt" noch wichtiger.....
