Facebook admitted to being "too slow to prevent misinformation and hate" on its sites. To prevent misuse in the future, they plan on investing heavily in artificial intelligence to proactively flag abusive posts, making reporting tools easier and more intuitive for users, and continuing education campaigns in Myanmar to introduce tips on recognizing false news.

The company called the work they are doing to identify and remove the misleading network of accounts in the country as "some of the most important work being done [here]."

In the suit, Attorney General Karl Racine, alleges that Zuckerberg's failure to oversee consumers' data privacy led to the Cambridge Analytica scandal, in which a political consulting firm used millions of Facebook users' data, without their knowledge, in an attempt to sway the 2016 election in favor of Donald Trump.

"The evidence shows Mr. Zuckerberg was personally involved in Facebook’s failure to protect the privacy and data of its users leading directly to the Cambridge Analytica incident," Racine said in a statement.

The civil suit, filed in Superior Court of the District of Columbia, claims Zuckerberg violated the Consumer Protection Procedures Act, the District's general consumer protection law.

seinerzeit in 2018 leitete der ~-18%-Kracher auch eine mittelfristige Kurswende ein.

Nach einer leichten technischen Erholung ging's in den Salami-Crash über - also in die weiteren Zinserhöhungen der FED hinein (über die 2%-Schwelle hinaus bei der Federal Funds Effective Rate bis Ende 2018).

Bis zum berühmten Anruf von Donald Trump bei Jay Powell nach Weihnachten 2018:
<vermutlich in Koordination mit dem Einsatz des Exchange Stabilization Fund's der Treasury durch Finanzminister Steven Mnuchin, wie man heutzutage vermuten kann>

Höchste Zeit, dass der Laden mal abschmiert, viel Potential nach unten:
Konkurrenz durch TikTok &Co, Werbemodell bei Apple-Nutzern in Gefahr, drohende Zerschlagung von Geschäftsbereichen durch US-Politik, Klagen wegen Menschenrechtsverletzungen aus Profitgier, Image im Keller, Milliarden werden im "Metaverse" versenkt, von Google überrundet, sinkende Nutzerzahl, Nutzerzeit sinkt. Ist Facebook besser aufgestellt als vor der Coronakrise März/ April 2020? Ich denke nicht, damals lag der Kurs bei etwa 200$.

U.S. District Judge James Boasberg wrote in a 48-page opinion that this time around, the FTC alleged enough facts to plausibly establish Facebook exercises monopoly power in the market for Personal Social Networking, or PSN, services. Judge Boasberg threw out the FTC’s initial complaint against Facebook over the summer, which sent the agency back to the drawing board.

The judge wrote that the core theory of the lawsuit remains unchanged. The FTC alleges Facebook has monopoly power for PSN services, and unlawfully maintained its monopoly by acquiring competitors and potential competitors such as Instagram and WhatsApp.
