Sony Life to Open Insurance Store in Nagoya in Jan.

-Sony Life Insurance Co. said Monday its first insurance retail store will open in the central Japan city of Nagoya on Jan. 12, 2020.

So far, Sony Life has sold insurance products mainly by having salespeople visit target consumers.

The group will directly run outlets with insurance agents in response to an increase in consumers who buy insurance policies at such shops.

The Nagoya store will be run by a subsidiary established in July this year. More Sony Life group outlets will be set up chiefly in urban areas.

The sales lineup at the Nagoya store will also include products of five other life and nonlife insurance companies.

Sony buying Silvergate Media for $195M - Variety

.Sony Pictures Television (SNE +0.6%) is making a big move into children's TV by buying Silvergate
Media, Variety reports.

.Sony will acquire the producer of hits Octonauts, Hilda and the Peter Rabbit animated series for $195M.

.It's buying from the management and Shamrock Capital, which acquired 51% of Silvergate in 2016.

.Silvergate will continue to be managed by CEO and co-founder Waheed Alli.

Sony and Verizon Demonstrate How 5G Stands to Transform Live Sports Production

Sony Imaging Products & Solutions Inc., Sony Mobile Communications Inc. and Verizon joined forces with NBC Sports to test how 5G can change the way live sports broadcasts are captured and produced. During the Houston Texans vs New England Patriots football game at NRG Stadium on December 1st, 2019, a camera person from NBC Sports captured video of the game on the field using Sony's PXW-Z450 shoulder camcorder. The video was streamed through Sony's prototype transmitter box and Xperia 5G mmWave device, via Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband network to a production room in the stadium.

The test proved that 5G-connected cameras can be a reliable and beneficial option for future live sports broadcasts. Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband's low latency and high bandwidth combined with Sony's mobile device, video, and encoding expertise enabled low-latency high-quality video to be transmitted in near real time to producers. The test showed the potential for remote production teams to be located anywhere, regardless of where the game's taking place. Furthermore, 5G's essentially instant wireless connectivity means that cameras can be untethered, allowing for more creative camera positions and angles throughout the game and reducing set-up time and costs required for camera system integration.

"5G's high bandwidth and low latency can enable high definition video to be streamed essentially in real time and captured with no wires on the field."

“It was exciting to see Sony’s 5G product coming to life,” said David Mazza, CTO, NBC Sports Group. “The picture quality is excellent, and we look forward to the day when we can deploy a wireless camera this easily as part of the 5G rollouts around the country.”

Die Kursentwicklung ist aber ganz positiv, da scheinen nicht alle so eine negative Meinung zu haben.

Avi Global Trust vertritt auf Seite 28 im Jahresbericht 2019 die Meinung, die Abspaltung der Halbleitersparte, Verkauf der Finanzsparte oder von M3 könnten noch weitere Werterhöhungspotenziale bieten. Auch werden die Ertragsaussichten der anderen Sparten nicht negativ gesehen, indem z.B. im Onlinegaming die Tendenz zu bezahlten Abonnements mit wiederkehrenden Erlösen gehe und generell mehr Kameras in Smartphosnes und Fahrzeugen verbaut würden.

Zur Diversifizierung meines Portfolios bin ich auf Sony gestoßen und dachte: Wow! Schöne Bilanz. Geringes KGV von 13, viel Eigenkapital. Aber jetzt lese ich, dass Sony ca. die Hälfte des Gewinns 2018 durch Verkauf von Spotify Aktien gemacht hat und eigentlich alle Umsätze der Kerngeschäfte rückläufig sind. Nur bei der Musik und den Bildsensoren läuft es. TV- Sparte und Handy-Sparte sind klinisch tot. D.h. Sony hat die früher mal genialen Marken Xperia und Bravia an die Wand gefahren. Playstation ist Hardwaremäßig auch ein Minusgeschäft. Im Vergleich zur XBox verpacken sie vermutlich auch bald. Und wenn die Kamera/Bildsensorsparte genauso gemanaged wird, dann geht die noch 1-2 Jahre hoch und dann wird sie auch gegen die Wand gefahren. Der Gewinn wird 2019 wieder auf 2017er Niveau sein, d.h. 50% Einbruch, da keine Sporify Anteile zum "Bilanzaufpumpen" da sind. D.h. echtes KGV liegt eher bei knapp 30 ohne erkennbares Wachstumspotenzial.
Bin kurz davor massiv Short zu gehen. Was ist so eure Meinung?
