Hallo,

bin letztlich ueber o.g. Wertpapier gestossen. Nach etwas mehr Recherche frage ich mich, ob es nicht ein spannendes Investment werden koennte. Der Kurs ist in den letzten Wochen stark abgerauscht und bietet momentan bei sehr soliden Zahlen (650Mio USD Umsatz 2005, 120Mio Gewinn) ein kgV von unter 10. Golden Telecom hat damit eine Marktkap von 650Mio USD (Vergleich: Vympel macht 950Mio USD Umsatz, 450Mio Gewinn, hat aber eine Marktkap von knap 7000Mio !!).


Golden Telecom engagiert sich sehr stark im Wireless Internetbereich und ist die letzten Jahre stetig gewachsen.

Zudem gibt es Stimmen, die sagen, der Telkobereich koennte mittelfristig etwas mehr ins Rampenlicht geraten, wenn der Rohstoffhype etwas abflaut.

Gemäß Yahoo betrug der Nettogewinn 2005 nicht 120 Mio, sondern 76 Mio

Stimmt, das Gesamtergebnis (operational income) war 116Mio, sorry.
Ändert trotzdem am kgv nix...(<10)

Zur KGV-Berechnung musst du das Ergebnis nach Steuern heranziehen, also die bereits genannten 76 Mio.

Denke, Bodenbildung ist stabil, Kurs wird langsam steigen. Auch von Kremlin (russländ. Investitionshaus) wurde Golden Telecom als sehr interessant bezeichnet, da es irgendwie trotz guter Daten in der Entwicklung liegengeblieben ist.

Als auf Sicht von 1 Jahr sehr interessant.

Habe die Dinger auch noch. Bin erst wieder bei ca. 30 Euronen eben.

Der Wert wurde vor mehreren Jahren von Platow empfohlen.
Nachdenklich machte mich nur der starke Einbruch im Mai. Der langfristige Aufwärtstrend wurde verletzt.

Aber ich hoffe auch auf eine Renaissance der Telco-Werte. So schlecht stehen die Telcos nicht da. Div.-Renditen zw. 4 und 6%.
Auch Jens Ehrhardt empfiehlt in der neuesten Finanzwoche Telekomtitel, allerdings eher Telenor, France- und Dt. Telekom.
Die mehrjährige Hausse ging an diesen Titeln vorbei. Die Erfahrung zeigt, dass nach solchen Haussen die Telcos und Pharmawerte Nachholbedarf haben. Auch fehlen im Telco-Bereich seit langem die Übernahmeschlachten. Sobald sich hier was tut, rücken die Werte wieder nach vorne.

Bei dieser Dividende von Golden Telecom kann ein Einstieg nicht verfrüht sein - hinzu kommt noch die Übernahmefantasie.

Bank expects Golden to see "a lasting, positive impact on revenue" when it starts fully deploying long-distance network. Golden Telecom has acquired a controlling interest in Kubtelecom, which comprises three telecom service providers operating in the largest cities of the Krasnodarsky region of Russia.

In addition to broadband internet access, digital switched voice and data, Kubtelecom also provides cable TV services and wireless code division multiple access (CDMA) access to its customers, and is poised to provide triple play services to Krasnodar mass market consumers. Kubtelecom operates fibre optic and copper networks covering Krasnodar, Anapa, Novorossiysk, Temryuk, Gelendzhik and Timashevsk. There are said to be 1.5 million residents in these cities to whom Golden Telecom will offer services through Kubtelecom and its branches. In addition, Golden Telecom will focus on offering services to an estimated seven-10 million tourists and visitors who visit the region each year.

This acquisition complements Golden Telecom's branches in Krasnodar and Novorossyisk, and Sochi Telecom, a wholly owned local service provider of Golden Telecom.

In the II Q of 2006, Golden Telecom's net income under US GAAP grew by 14% - to $22.6 mln from $19.8 mln for the same period of last year, as the Company informs.

The growth of Golden Telecom's net income in the II Q as compared to the I Q ($18.8 mln) totaled 20%.

The Company's earnings amounted to $197 mln in the II Q, which is 19% higher y-o-y ($165.5 mln in the II Q of 2005). EBITDA grew by 15% to $57.9 mln from $50.5 mln. EBITDA margin slid to 29% from 31%.

Golden Telecom's operating profit rose by 12% to $33.9 mln from $ 30.3 mln for the same period of last year.

Golden Telecom is one of Russia's largest alternate operators. It renders telephony, data transmission and Internet access services to corporations, operators and individual users via Overlay networks, as well as fiber-optic and satelitte DLD networks. GT also provide mobile services in Kiev and Odessa (Ukraine).

GT's shareholders are Altimo (30%) and the Norwegian telecommunication concern Telenor (some 20%). Rostelecom holds 11% of GT's shares, EBRD - 8%, Baring Vostok Capital Partners Ltd. - 7%, Capital International Global Emerging Markets Private Equity Fund L.P. - some 3.6%. The free-float is some 18% shares.

Auch wenn ich hier allein bin... hab bereits 30% in 1,5 Monaten und ich denke, auch langfristig gehts hier weiter (siehe untere News.).
Heute kleiner Ruecksetzer. GT scheint auf Breitband zu setzen und ich finde das vor allem bei der IPTV Entwicklung momentan aeusserst interessant im Gegensatz zu Mobile-Giganten wie Vympelcomm...

May enter the LD market soon

Golden Telecom announced that it had completed the interconnection process with all zonal fixed-line operators in Russia, in accordance with regulatory requirements. All the relating documentation was submitted to Rossvyaznadzor on September 27, 2006. In a press release, the company says it expects a response within a month.

The news is good for the company in the long term, as entering long-distance market should increase revenues materially. However, the current rules leave only a thin margin for long-distance carriers, so over the medium term margins may be negatively affected. On balance we anticipate some positive momentum in the stock as the start of long-distance operations is announced. We have a Buy recommendation for Golden Telecom, with an end-2007 fair value of $42.

Ist der Chart nicht schöen? Nimmt gar kein Ende...

Ich hatte mal einen großen Posten GT, nachdem lange Zeit der Kurs nur hoch und runter ist, bin ich leider ausgestiegen. Jetzt kommt der große Knall. Wie weit wird es wohl gehen? Wer macht mal eine Prognose? Lohnt der Einstieg noch?

bin ehrlich gesagt selber überrascht... Nach der 50% Rallye werde ich jedoch normal auch etwas unruhig.... Ich sehe GT grundsätzlich sehr aussichtsreich, würde aber Gefühlsmässig nach dem krassen Anstieg die letzte Zeit nicht mehr reingehen. Wenn man aber Golden Telecom mit Vympel vergleicht, wäre grundsätzlich immernoch ein Verdoppler drin.Analysten sehen den Fair Value 2007 bei 42 USD.

Hatte es schon mal vorher hier erwähnt:

Genau kann man die Unternehmen natürlich nicht vergleichen, aber ich erwarte, dass Vympel nicht mehr so rasant wachsen wird wie dieltzeten Jahre (mobile Boom schwächt ab), und GT eher schneller, wenn der Breitband und Wireless Trend mal richtig anzieht in Russland.

Golden Telecom (GT) is deploying 6,000 wi-fi hotspots in Moscow, reports Kommersant.

According to Kommersant, GT's network will have a capacity for up to 400,000 users by 2010. GT claims that the network will be able to transmit data at speeds of around 2Mbps.

The Russian telco has invested $10m so far in expanding its wi-fi presence in the Russian capital. Trials of the network will begin on 15 November, and the launch is scheduled for 15 January 2007.

Golden Telecom Continues Consolidation of Regional Telecommunications Assets

MOSCOW (RNWire) - Golden Telecom, Inc. ("Golden Telecom" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: "GLDN"), a leading facilities-based provider of integrated telecommunications and Internet services in major population centers throughout Russia and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States ("CIS"), today announces that following its regional expansion strategy it has purchased the telecommunications assets and acquired two alternative operators in Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, the fourth and the fifth largest cities in Russia, and Cheboksary, with a combined population of 3.0 million. The total purchase price consideration amounted to approximately $1.2 million.

In Yekaterinburg, Golden Telecom purchased the telecommunications assets of OAO Uralkhimmash ("Uralkhimmash") and OOO Les-Transit ("Les-Transit").

The telecommunications assets of Uralkhimmash are used to provide local fixed-line services on the Uralkhimmash plant premises and in the surrounding residential area.

Les-Transit is a residential Internet services provider. The company's network, which is approximately 5.5 kilometers long, covers two residential districts in Yekaterinburg.

Golden Telecom acquired a 100% interest in OOO Vitus ("Vitus"), a local fixed-line operator providing telecommunication services to Termal Plant and surrounding district in Nizhny Novgorod. Vitus operates its own cable distribution network.

Golden Telecom also acquired a 100% interest in OOO Informtechnology ("Informtechnology"), a telecommunications operator in Cheboksary, Chuvashiya Republic of Russia, with a cable distribution network of approximately 40 kilometers.

Commenting on these deals, Jean-Pierre Vandromme, Golden Telecom's Chief Executive Officer, noted: "These purchases and acquisitions support our regional expansion strategy and further emphasize Golden Telecom's proactive approach to market consolidation. The resources of the acquired companies and the purchased assets enable us to enlarge our client base and to strengthen Golden Telecom's position in the regions."
