Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 63.609.804 von jigajig am 08.05.20 17:03:44We’ve been asked for our thoughts on KPMG’s findings on MCA. The KPMG report clearly and thoroughly vindicates our detailed work on MCA. Contrary to repeated statements by management, KPMG found that there was no lending directly to merchants from the Wirecard balance sheet in Brazil or Turkey
Accounting for MCA
On the payment company’s balance sheet, MCA is extremely visible.
In normal business, a payment provider’s balance sheet will show funds expected from card-issuing banks as receivables while payments due to the merchants (via their acquiring banks) are listed as payables. There is a small difference to reflect the fees paid to the payment provider for the service.
If the payment provider is offering MCA to merchants who accept payments by credit card, the MCA-related payables are therefore paid down significantly earlier than the corresponding receivables come in. On the balance sheet, this is reflected as significantly lower payables than receivables at any given time.
In the case of Brazil, where credit-card issuers can take up to 30 days to make payment, this gap would be particularly wide to reflect 30 days of payments made by Wirecard without having yet received the cash from the customer’s bank. Taking a simple example, for an MCA program lending with a 4% total fee, a €100 purchase at a participating merchant would lead to the creation of a €100 receivable (to come from the card issuing bank) and a €96 payable (the amount paid to the merchant). If this was the only item on the balance sheet, because the payable is paid immediately while the receivable takes 30 days to be paid, during these 30 days the payables would be €0 while the receivables remain at €100
Das ist aber völliger Käse. Damit KPMG allen ihrer Punkte bzgl.

Egal was man hier sachlich postet.
