Xebec Receives $6.3M in Purification Orders as Adoption for Hydrogen Accelerates Worldwide - Seite 2

South Korea outlined a plan on July 14^th, 2020 to spend 114.1 trillion won ($128 billion CAD) to create jobs and help the economy recover from the coronavirus pandemic. This includes in part, further investment into electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to help achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The country aims to have 1.13 million electric vehicles (EVs) and 200,000 hydrogen cars on the roads by 2025, up from 91,000 and 5,000 each by the end of 2019.

In April of this year, China’s National Energy Administration issued a draft Development Plan for the New Energy Vehicle Industry 2021-2035 that included hydrogen as an energy source for the first time. Its focus is on the development of hydrogen vehicle technology and the roll out of hydrogen refueling infrastructure and storage. In addition, Beijing mapped out a plan in 2019 to increase the number of hydrogen filling stations to 1,000 and have one million FCVs on the road by 2030.
