LONDON - January 13, 2017 - Idea Fabrik PLC (Boerse Berlin GB00B61CVK31, TI4.BE) today announced the acquisition of "The Repopulation" game from Above and Beyond Technologies, Inc. for an undisclosed amount and the relaunch of the title in the first quarter of 2017. The acquisition of "The Repopulation" expands Idea Fabrik's activities and product portfolio beyond the game development engine HeroEngine(TM) and HeroCloud(TM) service. Following the relaunch all players will be able to log in with the same account information as soon as the testing of the game is concluded. The development of "The Repopulation" (therepopulation.com) - one of the most anticipated Science Fiction Sandbox MMORPGs in recent years - began in early 2011 and has attracted over 50,000 players in one year after the launch on Steam(R). The game has had two successful campaigns on Kickstarter; the first in June 2012 started with over 700 backers and then in December 2013 during the second campaign they drew in over 2,000 backers, growing their future player base early on. Building on the Kickstarter success, "The Repopulation" became so popular that it closed four additional crowd funding campaigns through their own website. After being "Greenlit" in January 2014, the game was finally launched on Steam(R) in December 2014 and started its successful addition of new players. With more than 13,000 public backers attracted over a three year period, "The Repopulation" grossed almost $2,000,000 from both Steam(R) sales and crowdfunding campaigns.
