    About the Study
    XING EVENTS GmbH surveyed about 2000 event organisers from April until the
    end of June 2014 in order to learn how theyutilize social media as a
    marketing instrument, what the latest trends and what the biggest
    challenges are. The surveyed were 59% male and the majority between 30 and
    50 years of age. 76% from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, 6% from the
    rest of Europe and 18% from North and South America. 20% organise mainly
    conferences and conventions, 21% seminars and courses, 14% corporate
    events, 11% stated to be mostly organising concerts, festivals and
    nightlife events, while the remaining 28% are spread out among various
    events, networking events and private events.
