ClearTV awarded contract to broadcast its TV program at Daytona airport
Burbank, California 13 May 2015 - CleartTV Ltd., a US-based operator of
television networks installed in select, high-value, away from home
locations, is successfully rolling out its network to airports in the US
and has been awarded a contract to broadcast its TV program at Daytona
Beach International Airport, which served over 629,000 passengers in 2014.
This brings ClearTV's network to a total of 9 airports that will soon
broadcast the company's international, domestic and local premium content
varieties.
Thus far, ClearTV already airs its program branded as "ClearVision Network"
in five major US airports: Cleveland, New Orleans, Dallas (Love Field),
Raleigh-Durham, and Grand Rapids. Three airports are currently in the
process of being equipped with the company's hardware: Denver, San Jose
(California) and Reno. Especially the acquisition of Denver airport marks a
milestone for ClearTV as the airport is ranked number 5 amongst the biggest
airports in the US based on the number of passengers handled in 2014, with
over 26 million people passing through the airport. The airport Denver is
expected to come online June 1, 2015. The other airports are expected to be
active shortly thereafter.
At the same time, ClearTV is in negotiations with other US-based airports
to further extend its television network. It is the aim of ClearTV to have
12 US airports online by the end of the year 2015. Further airports in the
US but also in Europe are expected to follow in 2016 and 2017.
Henry Mauriss, ClearTV's Chief Executive Officer, commented: "Now that our
airport network has achieved sufficient scale, and is expanding quickly,
our focus is on ramping up revenue through advertising sales. Our dedicated
sales team will initiate the first major sales campaigns during the next
weeks. Altogether we are of course very happy with the dynamic development
of our business over the past months and have set ambitious targets for the
future. It is our aim to achieve revenues of several million USD over the
next 12 months."
ClearTV has a partnership agreement with Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings,
Inc. (NYSE: CCO) regarding the installation of television networks in
airports that are either already in Clear Channel's portfolio of airports
through advertising concession contracts, or in non Clear Channel airports
that Clear Channel helps to procure. The TV program is produced from
content ClearTV receives from over 200 content partners, including popular
TV stations such as ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and a host of cable companies and
online productions.
