219  0 Kommentare Data I/O and DigiCert to Address IoT Security at Embedded World 2019

Data I/O Corporation (NASDAQ: DAIO), the leading global provider of advanced data and security programming solutions for flash, flash-memory based intelligent devices and microcontrollers, and DigiCert, Inc., the world’s leading provider of TLS/SSL, IoT and PKI solutions, will jointly present at Embedded World on February 26th discussing how OEMs can transition designs from software-based security to hardware-based security.

With the market for secure elements and secure microcontrollers anticipated to grow to 4 billion units over the next 5 years, the need for OEMs to design security into their products has never been greater. This growth is reflective of a broader industry trend towards hardware-based security using secure elements or secure microcontrollers for key storage with cloud access and software-based certificate distribution. To provide some level of protection, many OEMs have designed software-based security into their products. As OEMs look to provide stronger security in their products they are transitioning their designs to hardware-based security. Anthony Ambrose, President and CEO at Data I/O Corporation and Mike Nelson, Vice President of IoT Security at DigiCert, will address this topic at the conference in a presentation titled: Transitioning from Software Based Security to Hardware-Based Security - How to Make the Leap.

“Scalable security is critical for the success of IoT applications, and certificate-based authentication, encryption and integrity between devices form the foundation for a secure IoT ecosystem,” said Mike Nelson, Vice President of IoT Security at DigiCert. “Our collaboration with Data I/O helps OEMs enable their security designs with hardware-based, secure chipsets regardless of size, volume or in-house security expertise to provision certificates on the devices during manufacturing.”

“The need to secure IoT devices is no longer a debatable point. Designing, developing and manufacturing secure products and getting them to market fast is critical for OEMs and evolving existing product designs for enhanced security can challenge any OEM,” said Anthony Ambrose, President and CEO of Data I/O. “Data I/O is excited to collaborate with DigiCert to educate OEMs, regardless of their security expertise, on how to evolve their designs to provide hardware-based security using a wide array of secure ICs. These OEMs need a reliable method to obtain, design-in and provision certificates into these devices. Data I/O’s SentriX Security Provisioning Platform, through integration with DigiCert, provides an end-to-end security provisioning solution that is equally suited for provisioning one device or millions of devices.”
