Contracts for a New Metro Line of the Grand Paris Express

The Société Du Grand Paris Invites the Best International Companies to Respond to its Call for Tenders

The Société du Grand Paris is building a fully automated metro system, consisting in an addition of four lines (L15, 16, 17, 18) which will encircle Paris, while extending a few of the existing lines. 200km long, an investment of €25 billion, the project is of unprecedented scale for the capital city.

Last year, eight civil engineering agreements were launched for Line 15 South. Two days ago, the Société du Grand Paris exposed its strategy for the allocation of civil engineering and systems public works contracts for Line 16.  Highlighting the importance of investments, the Société du Grand Paris invited both French and international consortia to respond to its calls for tenders.

The 28km long  Line 16 will ease the access to eastern Ile-de-France and serve ten new railway stations. €10 billion are being invested in the construction of both line 15 and 16. By the end of 2016, close to €3 billion in contracts will have been awarded.

Three contracts extended for Line 16: 

• Lot 1 - Civil engineering works for tunnels using boring machines, trenches, stations, drumming works and annexed works for the connection of lines 15, 16, and 17 (3300P) and the Aulnay maintenance site and railway line, catenary and metal works (calls for tenders at the end of September 2016, award planned at the start of 2018);
• Lot 2 - Civil engineering works for tunnels using boring machines, stations, drumming works and annexed works for the connection of the Aulnay maintenance site to the annexed site 0603P (call for tenders at the end of June 2016);
• Lot 3 - Civil engineering works for tunnels using boring machines, stations, and annexed works between the site 0603P (excluded) and the rear of Noisy-Champs station (excluded) (call for tenders at the end of June 2016).

Lots 2 and 3 will be awarded at the end of 2017.
