Supervisory Board

Hamburg, 3 January 2011 - Asian Bamboo AG (´Asian Bamboo´, ´the Company´,
ISIN: DE000A0M6M79, ticker symbol: ´5AB´, ADR ticker symbol ´ASIBY´), a
world-leading integrated company in the bamboo industry, is pleased to
announce the appointment of Chris McAuliffe as Vice Chairman of the
Supervisory Board following the resignation of Mr. Wolfgang Jensen. Mr.
Jensen, who has been the Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board since
October 2007, tendered his resignation as a consequence of a change in his
career direction.

Mr. McAuliffe, who is 46 years old, has more than 18 years of investment
banking experience in London, Singapore and Hong Kong. He is a Managing
Director of Sprint Capital Partners, an investment advisory firm in Hong
Kong, which he founded in 2008. Prior to that, he was Managing Director and
Head of the Asia-Pacific Industrials Group for Citigroup in Hong Kong. Mr.
McAuliffe obtained an MBA degree from the University of Bradford Business
School.

Jensen, who has always worked for the best interests of all shareholders.
