Launch Pad: Hardware Startup Competition Features 10 Finalists
MakerCon kicks off with a new startup competition for hardware companies called Launch Pad. Ten finalists who

panel of judges who include:
- Rafe Needleman, Editorial Director, Yahoo Tech
- Gareth Keane, Qualcomm Ventures group
- Ann Miura-Ko, co-founder, Floodgate Partners
- Nick Pinkston, founder, Plethora
- Robert Stephens, founder, Geek Squad
Startups have until March 31st to participate. A $5,000 cash prize will be presented to the winning startup, a booth at Maker Faire in the Startup Pavilion, a profile in Make: magazine and a blog series on makezine.com
MakerCon Showcase: Startups Demos their Products
Twenty startups in the MakerCon Showcase will have two days to demonstrate their products and talk about their business plans
with attendees. Gleaning insights into growing their companies, these startups also have the opportunity to attract the interest of investors, accelerators and incubators on the lookout for
innovative hardware products.
Early bird registration ends March 31, and is $795 for a full conference pass, representing a savings of $100. More information about MakerCon can be found at makercon.com
