The number of businesses taking part in this environmental impact evaluation scheme continues to increase, particularly because investors, customers and authorities are paying increasing attention to its findings. Consequently, a good score not only means that a company is taking increasingly effective environmental measures, but also has a positive effect on a company's reputation.

The 2014 report ranks EVRY as the best IT business in Norway and Sweden, and also as the fifth most environmentally friendly company in Norway in general.

«Being included on the exclusive CDP Global Performance Leadership Index on account of achieving the highest possible performance band demonstrates that EVRY is in the top division globally for achieving real and lasting reductions in emissions from its business. EVRY was ranked highly by CDP because they were able to see a connection between its targets, its strategy, and reductions in the amount of greenhouse gases it emits, and it is a model in this area for companies in Norway and the Nordic regions. The measures it is taking to reduce its environmental impact are also proving beneficial financially and are helping to make it more competitive, and mean that the company is increasingly well adapted to the low carbon society of the future. We are proud to work with a business such as EVRY", comments Claudia Villamor, technical consultant at CO2focus.

    About the report

One of the requirements evaluated by CDP is whether companies have and follow a policy of sustainable growth. Examples of this include travel policy, management of company cars, heat recovery in office buildings, and waste recycling. Policies such as these are important for reducing and improving emissions as many employees work in offices.

EVRY is a large-scale provider of operations and its activities in this area produce more emissions than any other. One of the reasons for EVRY's success in the CDP report is its systematic adoption of measures to reduce its environmental impact, particularly through the line management of its Nordic Operations business area. Two examples that have played particularly important roles are virtualisation and the introduction of environmental requirements for suppliers. Two other steps that have helped us to climb the climate rankings are consolidating our data centres and building the new data centre at Fet.
