UEX and COGEMA Acquire Two New Uranium Projects In Western Athabasca
Monday January 31, 9:00 am ET

      Trading Symbol: UEX-TSX
VANCOUVER, Jan. 31 /CNW/ - UEX Corporation ("UEX") announced today that AREVA subsidiary COGEMA Resources Inc. ("COGEMA") has advised UEX that staking has been completed on two new projects in the western Athabasca Basin (the "Basin") in northern Saskatchewan, Canada. The Brander Lake and James Creek Projects (the "Projects") are respectively 21,087 hectares (52,085 acres) and 29,784 hectares (73,566 acres) in area. The Projects cover significant basement conductors detected by deep-penetrating, airborne geophysical (MEGATEM) surveys carried out during the fall of 2004. Future exploration programs on the Projects will include follow up with ground geophysics and drilling.
In 2004, UEX signed the West Athabasca Option Agreement ("the Agreement") with COGEMA whereby COGEMA granted UEX an option to acquire a 49% interest in eight uranium projects located in the western Basin. UEX now has ten projects under option from COGEMA having a combined area of 174,912 hectares (432,033 acres): Shea Creek (containing the Anne and Colette uranium deposits), Douglas, Alexandra, Erica, Nikita, Laurie, Mirror River, Uchrich, Brander Lake and James Creek.

Under the terms of the Agreement, UEX can acquire a 49% interest in the 10 Projects by funding $30 million (CDN) in exploration expenditures over the next 11 years. UEX will earn a 12.25% interest in the Projects for every $7.5 million (CDN) spent to a maximum total interest in the projects of 49%. Minimum expenditure over the next 11 years as follows: Year 1 and 2 - $2,000,000 per year, Years 3, 4, 5, 6 - $2,500,000 per year, Years 7, 8, 9 - $3,000,000 per year, Years 10, 11 - $3,500,000 per year.

COGEMA will remain the operator of the Projects utilizing its team of experienced geoscientists who have participated in several important uranium discoveries in the Athabasca Basin, including Cluff Lake, Cigar Lake, and most recently, Shea Creek.

To view a map of the Projects, please refer to UEX`s website at www.uex-corporation.com under "Latest Updates".

      Hallo TripleVane,

      Holzauge sei wachsam.

Since our last post on UEX, Reasons to Own UEX, there was a run to $3.70 followed by a high volume selloff last week that sent prices back to $2.89. The uptrend remains intact but without knowing the motivations of the big sellers and an absence of news we need to be mindful of the downside risk.

I wasn`t surprised to see a probe below the $3 level as stocks above it are marginable in Canada. I was surprised at the record trading volumes associated with it. We`ll know more as the week progresses.

(Si-Stopp für mich 2,40, mein Verlust begrenzen)

Ich sehe den nächsten Wiederstand bei ca. 1,50 Can $ !

Auf jeden Fall am unterteren Ende der BB und der MACD ist komplett überverkauft.

      was macht Deine Position ?

      An alle Investierten,
      Gruß R S.

      Die Meldung:
UEX Reports 27.4% U3O8 Over 8.8 Metres In New Zone at Shea Creek
VANCOUVER, July 13 /CNW/ - UEX Corporation ("UEX") announced today that AREVA subsidiary COGEMA Resources Inc. ("COGEMA") has reported to UEX the interim results from the 2005 Spring/Summer drilling program at the Shea Creek Project (Anne and Colette Deposits), which is located in the Western Athabasca Basin in northern Saskatchewan, Canada. The Shea Creek Project ("Shea Creek" or the "Project") is one of ten Western Athabasca Projects currently under option from COGEMA, the operator of the Project. UEX has a right to earn up to a 49% interest in the ten projects. The 2005 Spring/Summer drilling program commenced in April 2005 (see UEX News Release, April 5, 2005) and is expected to continue into the Fall of 2005.

While drilling at Shea Creek is ongoing, UEX management considers the results of the first 11 holes outlined in Table 1 to be of such significance that it is reporting them now.

Hole SHE-114-5, the fifth unconformity impact from pilot hole SHE-114, intersected 27.4% U3O8 over 8.8 metres, including 58.32% U3O8 over 3.5 metres, at a point approximately 30 metres above the unconformity. The unconformity was intersected at 714.3 metres along the hole. This intersection represents the most significant uranium mineralization, and with the highest grade, ever encountered at Shea Creek. Hole SHE-114-5 also intersected significant uranium mineralization approximately 100 metres below the unconformity in the basement rocks, including 1.08% U3O8 over 2.2 metres and 5.48% U3O8 over 1.8 metres within a strongly argillitized fault/breccia zone from 812.0 to 826.0 metres. Hole SHE-114-5 is located in the 63B area, 600 metres northwest of the Anne Deposit and 1,600 metres southeast of the Colette Deposit in a relatively untested section of the Shea Creek corridor.

"This is a very encouraging result, the best one so far on the property; it indicates that we are drilling a powerful mineralizing system," said François Brisset, Vice-President, Exploration of COGEMA. "It also illustrates the persistent determination and the very high scientific and technological expertise of our teams."

It is unprecedented to see a mineralized intersection of this grade and thickness so high in the sandstone above the unconformity. As previously reported (UEX News Release, February 10, 2005), 2004 hole SHE-114, the pilot hole for SHE-114-5, also intersected high-grade, elevated mineralization at 29.9 metres above the unconformity, averaging 3.26% U3O8 over 2.0 metres. Hole SHE-102-11 located some 65 metres to the southeast of SHE-114 intersected similar, elevated mineralization at 28.90 meters above the unconformity (2.50% U3O8 over 2.6 metres). SHE-114-1, the first directional cut from pilot hole SHE-114, also intersected elevated mineralization 40.4 metres above the unconformity, averaging 1.36% U3O8 over 7.5 metres. These intersections of elevated mineralization in the SHE-114 to SHE-102 area may represent the outer fringes of a much larger mineralized zone connected to the unconformity. Hole SHE-114-5 appears to have made the closest approach yet to the source of this elevated mineralization.

Table 1 below summarizes the significant mineralized intersections from the 2005 drilling program, calculated from gamma probe logging. The technical information in Table 1 and in this news release has been compiled and reviewed by Erwin Koning, P. Geo., COGEMA`s District Geologist, West Athabasca Region, a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.

      2005 Drilling Program
The purpose of the 2005 drilling program at Shea Creek is to continue
determining the extent of mineralization at the Anne and Colette Deposits, as
well as the 63B area. Directional drilling, first introduced in the Athabasca
Basin by COGEMA at Shea Creek and used in the Fall 2004 drilling program,
continues to be used at the project. This technology, which uses a steerable
drill bit to allow several target intersections, or unconformity impacts, to
be completed from one pilot hole, reduces the cost while improving the
targeting precision when drilling deep targets.

An aggressive drilling campaign is currently underway using two drill
rigs operating simultaneously, each capable of directional drilling. The
drilling program is planned to continue into the Fall of 2005.

      63B Area
The 63B area is still relatively untested. The mineralization in
SHE-114-5 occurs within a 2.2 kilometre corridor between the Anne and Colette
Deposits, 600 metres northwest of the Anne Deposit and 1,600 metres southeast
of the Colette Deposit. Further directional drilling continues at this time
from Fall 2004 pilot hole SHE-114 to locate the source of the mineralization.
Additional pilot holes may be placed in the area as the drilling program
      continues.

      Colette Deposit Area
Additional directional cuts to test the unconformity are planned from
Fall 2004 pilot holes SHE-110, SHE-111 and SHE-113, some of which have been
carried out (see Table 1). In the Fall of 2004, for the first time, basement-
hosted mineralization was intersected at the Colette Deposit, which had
previously been characterized by unconformity-type mineralization, opening the
possibility that the same high-grade type of basement mineralization found at
Anne is present at Colette as well. Four mineralized zones were encountered in
drill hole SHE-111 during the Fall 2004 drilling program including 1.57% U3O8
      over 6.3 metres in hole SHE-111-1 and 2.42% U3O8 over 2.3 metres and 0.96%
      U3O8 over 3.8 metres in hole SHE-111-2.

      Anne Deposit Area
The present extent of drilling has left the 250 metre strike length of
the deposit open in all directions. Drilling in the Fall of 2004 increased the
potential width of the deposit to more than 100 metres and continued to yield
      high grade intersections (SHE-109-1: 4.33% U3O8 over 3.0 metres and 1.71% U3O8
      over 1.9 metres; SHE-109-2: 3.20% U3O8 over 2.1 metres). Further follow-up
drilling will continue to determine the extents of the deposit by testing
favourable structures where they subcrop at the unconformity in the vicinity
of the Saskatoon Lake graphitic conductor.

      Hallo,
so ich gebe meine paar UEX erst einmal her.
