NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- Akamai Technologies Inc. (AKAM) said a federal court in Boston issued a permanent injunction requiring Cable & Wireless PLC (CWP) to shut down Digital Island Footprint 2.0 service.
In December, a jury found that the Footprint service infringed Akamai`s patent. At that time, Digital Island called the jury`s ruling "very good news for us," saying the ruling invalidated certain Akamai claims and wouldn`t affect Digital Island`s customers.
Akamai, a Cambridge, Mass., e-business technology company, said in a press release Thursday that it plans to seek "full compensation" from Cable & Wireless.
A representative for London-based telecommunications company Cable & Wireless wasn`t immediately available for comment late Thursday night.
Cable & Wireless sued Akamai in July, alleging the EdgeSuite and Akamaizer infringed patented algorithms and systems, and filed another suit against Akamai in August concerning Internet-routing technology."

Das beobachte ich schon seit Tagen, das zwischen 88 Cent und 95 Cent Institutionelle stützen, bzw. einsammeln. Gar nicht uninteressant.
Wenn der juristische Streit mit C & W zu Akamais Gunsten entschieden wird, könnte das dem Kurs Flügel verleihen. Nach allem was ich gelesen habe sieht es durchaus danach aus.

Da laufen verschiedene Sachen. Die Geschichte mit EdgeSuite ist noch nicht vom Tisch. Wenigstens entnehme ich das so aus dem Yahoo Board.

Für die Spekulanten hier noch ein heißer Kandidat:
Corvis. Sozusagen als antizyklischer Kauf aus dem ach so toten Telekomsektor. David Huber, ehemaliger CEO von Ciena kümmert sich als Hauptaktionär um diese Firma. Der hat immer wieder `ne neue Erfindung in der Tasche. Z.Z. versucht er mit neuer Technik das Glasfasergeschäft zu revolutionieren. Klingt hochtrabend, aber der Kerl hats faustdick hinter den Ohren. Jetzt ein paar Stück ins Depot und sich in eins, zwei Jahren angenehm überraschen lassen.

Die Zahen dürften wohl im Rahmen der Erwartungen liegen, Umsätze um die 35 Mio, Verlust ebenso hoch.
Was den Kurs zuletzt gestützt hat, war wohl eher die Übernahme des Konkurrenten Inktomi durch Yahoo.
Akamai solte ja eigentlich besser sein als Inktomi, eng verbunden ist man seit jeher mit Apple Inc.
Ob Apple sich das antut? 3-4$ je Share sollten aber schon bezahlt werden.

Akamai solte ja eigentlich besser sein als Inktomi, eng verbunden ist man seit jeher mit Apple Inc.
Ob Apple sich das antut? 3-4$ je Share sollten aber schon bezahlt werden.

Ergo sollte man jetzt nicht mehr drin sein. Der jetzige Abwärtstrend wird erst wieder unter einem Dollar enden. Ob bei 97 Cent, 77 Cent oder 55 Cent ist nicht vorhersehbar. Erst in diesen Regionen lohnt es wieder einzusteigen.

Mit entscheidender Phase meinte ich, die offene Frage ob und wann die Gewinnzone erreicht wird und ob bis dahin die liquiden Mittel ausreichen bzw. ob ggf. mit einer Übernahme zu rechnen sein wird!? Akamai ist ein (hoch-)spektulativer Wert, der dadurch stetigen (großen) Schwankungen auch in nächster Zukunft ausgesetzt sein dürfte. Aber mal abwarten was die morgigen Zahlen so bringen.
