"Probe Mines Identifies 800m-Long Airborne Anomaly on the Probe-Noront Joint Venture

TORONTO, ONTARIO, May 26, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX News Network) --
The Directors of PROBE MINES LIMITED (TSX VENTURE: PRB) ('Probe') are pleased to provide a technical update on the recently announced Joint Venture ('JV') property with Noront Resources. Airborne geophysical results received for the properties have delineated a significant coincident electromagnetic-magnetic anomaly on a claim block located between the Black Thor and Big Daddy chromite discoveries of Freewest Resources and Freewest-Spider Resources-KWG Resources, respectively. The 800m long anomaly, which extends across the southwest corner of the JV claim, is markedly similar to the geophysical signature of the adjacent chromite bodies and is interpreted to represent the direct extension of the Black Thor horizon to the northeast and the Big Daddy horizon to the southwest (see map at www.probemines.com). In addition, airborne survey results indicate the magnetic horizon hosting Noront's recently announced Thunderbird V-Ti-Fe discovery extends north within the northeastern claims of the Probe-Noront JV properties, and into Probe's 100%-owned Tamarack project.

Both AeorTEM II and VTEM helicopter-borne electromagnetic-magnetic surveys were flown over the claims, and comprised 375 and 316 line kilometers of coverage, respectively. The two surveys independently confirmed the strong magnetic features attributable to the host mafic-ultramafic horizon and the strong coincident magnetic-electromagnetic conductor extending from the Black Thor and Big Daddy chromite deposits onto the JV ground.

Other conductors have also been identified from the survey, and the airborne data is undergoing a final interpretation to select and prioritize targets for an upcoming drill program. The area covered by the joint venture is highly prospective for Ni-Cu-PGE and chromite-PGE deposits and the presence of strong geophysical targets indicates the potential for new discoveries on these claims. The Company is expecting to finalize a drilling contract in the upcoming weeks, and will plan to mobilize shortly thereafter. Further details of the drilling program and airborne results from other properties will be released in the upcoming weeks.

Probe Mines Enters Into Joint Venture Agreement With Noront Resources in McFauld's Lake Area

On Wednesday May 20, 2009, 8:01 am EDT

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 20, 2009) - The Directors of PROBE MINES LIMITED (TSX VENTURE:PRB - News; 'Probe') are pleased to announce that a Joint Venture agreement (the "Agreement") has been signed between the Company and Noront Resources Ltd (TSX VENTURE:NOT - News; 'Noront'), comprising 87 claim units located in the "Ring of Fire" area of McFauld's Lake, Northern Ontario. The claim units, comprising 4 individual blocks of Probe's claims, fall along the interpreted ultramafic horizon in the area of the Eagle One nickel-copper discovery (see map at www.probemines.com). The Joint Venture does not include claims belonging to the Company's Tamarack or Victory properties, and excludes recently staked claims immediately north of the discovery area. The terms of the agreement will see the immediate formation of a 50-50 Joint Venture between Probe and Noront, under which Probe will act as operator for the first two years, and alternate operatorship every two years thereafter, as long as equal ownership is maintained. If one company acquires more than 50% of the joint venture, full operatorship will be transferred to the larger property interest. A technical committee will be formed comprising members from both companies to approve exploration programs.

Probe had an option on certain claims held by Noront in this area in 2006 (see press release of December 22, 2005) and the option was terminated by Probe in 2007 before the discovery of the Eagle One deposit by Noront. Both Probe and Noront expressed concerns about each of their respective property holdings in this area and their rights pursuant to the historical option agreement. The joint venture is viewed as the most practical arrangement to address and resolve all of these historical concerns. In addition, Probe believes the joint venture will benefit the Company, and therefore shareholders, by providing for mutual data exchange and access to Noront's significant experience and resources in the McFauld's Lake area, as well as reducing costs associated with evaluating the economic potential of these claims. To date, only 10 of the 87 claims have been subjected to drilling and, as first operator, Probe will consider commencing exploration at the earliest opportunity.

David Palmer, President and CEO of Probe, says "We are looking forward to working with Noront to advance these properties and bring added value to our shareholders. The potential for World-class deposits of nickel-copper and chromite have reaffirmed our belief that the area is one of Canada's most important exploration plays and has the potential to become Canada's newest mining camp. Noront has continually led the field in discoveries and, with their commitment to the area, we are pleased to have Noront as a partner."

Further updates regarding the joint venture property and Probe's other claims in the McFauld's area will be made available in the upcoming weeks as the Company begins preparation for field work. Probe has completed helicopter-borne geophysical surveys on all of its properties in the area and has a drill available to begin operations following Spring break-up.

      McFauld's Lake

The McFauld's area continues to receive considerable attention with recent reports of high-grade chromite and PGE mineralization from Noront and Freewest Resources, in addition to continuing intersections of high-grade nickel and copper at Noront's Eagle One, Eagle Two and AT-12 discoveries. A preliminary economic assessment of the Eagle One Ni-Cu deposit reported an estimated resource (indicated) of 1,834,000 tonnes averaging 1.96% Ni, 1.18% Cu and 5.1g/t combined platinum, palladium and gold.

The discovery of chromite at McFauld's has added significantly to the area's value. The first massive chromite horizon was identified by Spider Resources in January 2006 while exploring for VMS mineralization. Noront Resources identified further chromite mineralization on its Black Bird 1 and 2 showings, while Freewest Resources returned significant intersections of massive chromite in its Black Thor and Black Label deposits. Highlights from the Freewest drilling include a 124m intersection grading 30% Cr2O3. The chromite occurrences are all located along a laterally extensive magnetic high that can be traced for approximately 20km in a northeast direction, along which many of the Probe-Noront joint venture claims occur.

While not marked here, Probe has a McFauld's West satellite property that is immediately north of the backward "L" shaped Fancamp property, and north of FWR's 3012252 claim. You can see for yourself the the borders are not consistent. I spoke with Probe's IR and Dave Palmer was up at the property last week checking claim posts, etc for their upcoming program. Apparently, FWR is using a government map that is not accurate. The northern border is shown a few hundred meters too far north and the western border should also be located further eastward. What does this mean? Instead of Probe having a small corner of the I-20 chromite horizon, they now have 800m or half of the I-20 horizon on their property. Palmer said that the indications for a similar grade and size were excellent. Additionally, a parallel chromite horizon seems to extend for approximatley 1km onto their Tamarack property.

IF chromite is here with similar numbers to what we have already seen, it could mean as much as 27M tonnes - say it is 30% chromite at $350/tonne, that gives it a value of $3 billion. Voisey Bay was bot out for $4B with an in-ground value of $60B - in other words, they were paid 7% of the inground value. If you look at those numbers, Probe shares could be worth around $2.87 in a take-out. And that is exactly what I have been told is going to happen.

I know that these are a lot of "ifs" and Probe needs a drill program to confirm this - they are planning one for June -but at this point, I really can't see much downside. What I can see are improving commodity markets; trillions of dollars on the sidelines waiting to come in so that investors can recoup some of their recent steep losses; and a party waiting to happen in the James Bay Lowlands.

The McFaulds Lake area once again looks like it is where the action will be this year.

Kommt Zeit, kommen Bohrergebnisse, kommen Funde.

      shares plunged 47%
      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Probe shares down on McFauld's west results

Probe Mines (PRB-V) shares plunged 47% today after the company reported that drill results from its McFauld's West property in the James Bay Lowlands didn't correspond with geophysical anomalies identified in a ground survey program.

Probe shares fell 28¢ to 32¢ today on a trading volume of more than 1 million shares.

The company announced the results from eight drill holes, three of which intersected ultramafic intrusive rock the represent three different bodies.

Holes MW-02 cut through more than 80 metres of peridotite intrusive body that resembles the host peridotite. Probe pointed out that the host of Noront Resources' (NOT-V, NOSOF-O) famed Eagle One nickel-copper deposit is very similar.

The holes were supposed to test discrete geophysical anomalies found in a groundwork program, but Probe reported that those anomalies were not explained by that amount of sulphides found in the core.

Hole MW-01 was supposed to test the mafic dyke identified in an outcrop during the winter geophysics program and ended up intersecting two ultramafic dykes at depth that were barren of sulphide.

The company is waiting for assay results from both the peridotite and ultramafic dykes.

Probe says the results so far show that the previous surveys lacked either the depth penetration or resolution.

To make up for it, Probe is planning a VTEM survey for both its Victory and McFauld's West properties to gain a better understanding between the presence of nickel and platinum group metal host rocks and the geophysical and geochemical anomalies.

The VTEM will be followed by a deep penetrating, high resolution ground geophysical survey on McFauld's West.

The surveys will be in preparation of Probe's next drill program which is scheduled for this fall.

Probe also received results from its nearby Victory project. Hole V08-27 intersected a 30 metre thick unit of sulphide mineralized ultramafic intrusive and returned anomalous values of nickel, copper, platinum and palladium throughout the section.

Two other holes returned anomalous values of copper and zinc within sulphide mineralized sections in the volcanic sequence showing potential for a volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit, the company says.

Probe Mines Intersects Peridotite on McFauld's West; Geochemical Results for Victory Project Received, Exploration Planned for Additional McFauld's Lake Properties

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Toronto, August 5th, 2008 -- The Directors of PROBE MINES LIMITED (TSX-V: PRB) ("Probe") are pleased to announce that a total of eight holes have been completed during first-phase drilling on the Company's 100%-owned McFauld's West property in the James Bay Lowlands. Ultramafic intrusive rock was intersected in three of the eight holes, and represent three unique bodies. Diamond drill holes MW-02 and MW-08 identified a thick (over 80 metres) peridotite intrusive body, which closely resembles the host peridotite of the Eagle One nickel-copper discovery. The holes were designed to test a number of discrete geophysical anomalies identified through the ground program, however, the anomalies were not explained by the amount of sulphides observed in the core and further work is required. Drill hole MW-01 was collared to test the "mafic" dyke identified in outcrop during the winter geophysical program and intersected two separate ultramafic dykes at depth. The dykes were barren of sulphide at this location. The peridotite and ultramafic dykes have been sampled and assay results will be released once they are received, which is expected to take three weeks.

Owing to the presence of potential nickel-PGE host rocks and the lack of explanations for the geophysical and geochemical anomalies, the Company is now planning further geophysical programs on the property. A VTEM survey is currently being designed for both the Victory and McFauld's West properties to be followed by a deep-penetrating, high resolution ground geophysical survey on the McFauld's West property. The results of the drilling indicate that previous surveys lacked either the depth penetration or resolution and future surveys will correct this in preparation for second phase drilling, expected to commence in the fall.

      Victory Assay Results

Geochemical results have been received for the Company's recently completed drilling on its 100%-owned Victory project. Core samples from hole V08-27, which intersected a 30 metre thick unit of sulphide mineralized ultramafic intrusive, returned anomalous values of nickel, copper, platinum and palladium throughout the section. The ultramafic is situated at the end of an over 300 metre long airborne conductor and suggests the potential for higher-grade and thicker mineralization towards the middle of the zone. A VTEM airborne survey is now being planned for the area in preparation of further drilling.

Holes V08-24, V08-26 and V08-27 all returned anomalous values of copper and zinc within sulphide mineralized sections of the volcanic sequence and indicate a potential for volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) type deposits within the volcanic package.

      Additional McFauld's Lake Properties

Probe Mines owns an additional 75 claim units situated between, and northeast of, Noront Resources Eagle One and AT-12 massive sulphide discoveries and exploration is now being planned for these properties. The claims are located along the trend of ultramafic rocks between Noront's Double Eagle and Probe's Tamarack Projects, and share boundaries with Freewest Resources', Fancamp Exploration's and Noront's properties. A deep-penetrating helicopter-borne survey is now being planned for this area and will be followed by drilling of airborne targets.

Probe Mines has been established in the McFauld's Lake area since 2003 and owns approximately 15,000 hectares of ground along the McFauld's and Victory volcanic Belts. In addition to Noront's nickel-copper discovery, the McFauld's Lake area is host to numerous volcanic-hosted Cu-Zn discoveries, one of which is located on Probe Mines' Tamarack claims. Management believes the area has the potential to develop into Canada's next major mining camp.

Probe Mines Intersects Ultramafic Intrusive on Victory Project; Drilling Operations to Commence on McFauld's West Property, James Bay Lowlands, Ontario

Toronto, June 26, 2008 -- The Directors of PROBE MINES LIMITED (TSX-V: PRB) ("Probe") are pleased to announce that a total of nine holes have been completed on the Company's 100%-owned Victory Project, with a thick (30m) horizon of coarse-grained, sulphide-mineralized ultramafic intrusive rock intersected in diamond drill hole V08-27. The sulphide mineralization in drill hole V08-27 is comprised predominantly of pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite occurring as coarse interstitial grains and narrow (<1m) massive bands in the ultramafic unit. The presence of sulphide mineralized ultramafic intrusive is encouraging, as it represents a potential nickel-copper-PGE host. Owing to the drill results, Probe is now planning further geophysics in the area to better define the mineralized horizon in advance of continued drilling. The unit occurs near the edge of the volcanic belt underlying the Victory Project and is associated with a discrete, positive magnetic anomaly. Sampling of the zone has been completed and the samples submitted for assay. Results will be released as soon as they have been received and reviewed by the Company, which is expected to take two to three weeks. The remaining anomalies tested by this drilling program were explained by sulphide-rich horizons within the felsic volcanic package, and indicate an additional potential for volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits on the Victory Project.

      McFauld's West Project Drilling

The diamond drill used for the Victory drilling has been mobilized to the Company's 100%-owned McFauld's West Project adjacent Noront Resources' Eagle One high-grade nickel-copper-PGE discovery. Drilling will commence on July 7th, after a ten-day break from field operations. The first hole will test a geophysical anomaly identified on the western mafic intrusive, discovered in outcrop during the winter program. The Company is planning a minimum of eight holes to test selected anomalies identified on the property, including some deeper targets.

The McFauld's West property is located approximately 450m from the Eagle One discovery and the current program represents the first drilling to be conducted on the claims. Probe is encouraged by the recent geophysical, geochemical and geological results, which indicate the potential of the property to host mineralization similar to that on Noront's property. The most recent drilling intersection from Eagle One returned the highest grade material to date averaging 6.25% nickel, 2.75% copper, 1.85 g/t platinum, 10.23 g/t palladium, 3.0 g/t gold and 10.3 g/t silver over 46.6 meters.

Probe Mines has been established in the McFauld's Lake area since 2003 and also owns the nearby Tamarack property, under option to Mantis Mineral Corp and the Victory Project, comprising 484 claims over an associated volcanic belt. In addition to Noront's nickel-copper discovery, the McFauld's Lake area is host to numerous volcanic-hosted Cu-Zn discoveries, one of which is located on Probe Mines' Tamarack claims, and management believes the area has the potential to develop into Canada's next major mining camp.
